AWAKE NOW: an (almost) line by line analysis by yours truly, pt.1
Tumblr media
If you've been following me at all, you probably know that Awake Now is my favourite An Shiraishi commission and that I always ramble how symbolic and incredible its lyrics are, among other things. Well, it's time for me to actually explain why I think it's so great!
This is part one tackling only in-game version; I'll later make an addition to this post expanding on the full version lyrics, because there is also a lot to unpack there and I don't want to do all what work in one sitting. Sorry.
[Disclaimer: for a quite a long time, the commonly accepted translation of this song has been facing criticism, and quite a lot of lines have been changed into what I believe is more accurate later. More corrections may be yet to come, but this post will use the translation available at 27.10 by Hiraethie, with edits by Violet and 25239x.]
Lazy Rainy My Soul is
now in a bad mood
From this new feeling called Lament
(New feeling called Lament)
The first verse of the song is referencing An's growing unease she experiences during the time of Bout to be Beside you; while she doesn't know why she feels that way at the beginning, a big emphasis is made on how she never felt that way before, because even having a partner is something that is a new experience for An.
The supposed relationship full of perfection
got complicated on its way
This line references the way An perceives her own and Kohane's partnership, as well as just their general dynamic: they started off strong but already faced some conflict during Singing in Sync, the very first event of VBS, during which An had to confront her overprotectiveness; now this relationship is starting to get even more complicated with An's anxiety and "hazy feelings" thrown into the mix.
Not only that, it's also important that this line went to Touya - who went through his own issues in his relationship with Akito.
Still staying passionate, I Try
A general callback to An's attitude to losing and having roadblocks:
🎧: I hate to lose, but I usually take a more positive approach to think and work harder to do better next time.
(btby episode 4, official tl)
As well as, in this particular situation, she only sees one way to get over her feelings: to stay passionate and keep singing. This line is later brought up again in Rekka with "My silence and passion, I kept them inside my heart" line.
It's not like you're the one at fault
This is An's admitting that Kohane is never at fault for making An feel the way she does; that she has the full right and ability to make progress and keep improving as much as she wants to, and An could never blame her for it. At the same time, An is bitter at herself for having these feelings at all, which we later see in WTWG.
Trip Step, I want to do that again and again
If we could light up the night together
For eternity, then...
An wants to be Kohane's partner and keep singing with her despite the anxiety she brought into her life. If we look at the phrase "light up the night" to mean performing and bringing excitement to people (which it very well could be, seeing the overall symbolism of fire and light has in VBS's story), it becomes apparent this refers to An wanting to stay partners with Kohane forever, especially considering these lines in the event itself:
👤: Have you found a good partner yet, An?
🎧: No, not yet... It's taking longer than I expected...
🎧: But I have a feeling that we're gonna be singing together forever once I do!
***
🎧: That she's [Kohane] the only one who can be my partner...
(same event, chapter 5)
An is willing to go to extreme length to keep being Kohane's partner - so they can "light up the night" together.
Falling in love with the sound of my wings
that I outstretched to the skies,
This line goes to Kohane as well as Touya, but refers primarily to Kohane's discovering her own talent and (rightfully) enjoying all the new experiences and emotions it has brought into her life. It's also a clever play on Kohane's name, seeing as if she had a kanji spelling instead of hiragana, it most definitely would have included the character 羽 - "wing" or "feather". This same wordplay is then later used in Hollow:
預かる背中のその羽が
azukaru senaka no sono hane ga
This is confirmed by the song's producer and the very same character is used in Awake Now, so it's very unlikely it's just a coincidence - at the same time, "outstretching her wings" definitely refers to Kohane gaining new abilities and exploring new opportunities with Taiga.
the flowers of my dreams start overflowing.
I’ll make them sublimely
beautifully bloom so,
Seemingly, An has gotten everything she's ever wanted: she found a partner and a team, and townfolk are starting to take her dream more seriously - but her feelings about Kohane are overwhelming and distracting her from that, even during practice. Even so, An is determined to make that relationship work.
The first line here also went to Kohane and Touya, likely reflecting how their dream was found somewhere later than An and Akito's was, so that development is even more spontaneous to them than to the first two.
don’t forget that I’m right next to you, okay?
This is both reassurance to Kohane that An will always be by her side and believing in her, and a plea by An for Kohane not to forget her as she keeps growing and moving forward, and for Kohane to keep An by her side. It's a very nice double edged sword of a line and probably one of my favourite ones in the entire song.
Also, it also has Akito in the background, which is just... *Gestures at Stray Bad Dog event*. And this moment in BTBY too:
🥞: She's having an effect on the rest of us, including me, which means you, her partner, probably have it worse...
🥞: You feel like you're getting left behind... Like I did a while ago...
Akito went through something very similar, though not identical - that's likely the reason he was able to notice An's worries and help her in the first place.
Even if our touching backs begin to separate
Kohane is starting to pursue training with Taiga outside of An's reach, and An is starting to bottle up her feelings about Kohane - they're no longer as emotionally close as they used to be, and that's okay. Might also refer to the difference in skill level that is not there yet but will become quite apparent soon: their touching backs begin to separate... Perhaps even going in different directions.
Awake Now
The name drop and the meaning behind the song title: An is now aware of the feelings she experienced back in Awakening Beat and the true reason behind it, as unpleasant as it may be.
This doesn't end with my longing alone
This is perhaps one of the most interesting lines in the song, as it's the one that has faced the most misinterpretation, previously being translated as "I will never stop yearning for you."
Nevertheless, a corrected translation makes a lot more sense. An refuses to be the only one "yearning" in her and Kohane's relationship; she wants to keep inspiring Kohane and make her go even further, for Kohane to keep yearning for An and her singing, too.
🎤: Since you want to be someone she can “respect and be proud of”, An, you want her to like and be excited by the way you sing.
(same event, chapter 6)
This later comes back as a major theme in WTWG:
🎧: (But you know what, Kohane?)
🎧: (I'm not satisfied with that.)
🎧: (I want to drag it out of you, too.)
🎧: (This new power of yours, all sorts of feelings you've never felt before, all of it, all of it!)
🎧: (I want to drag it out of you, with my song!)
(WTWG, chapter 7, tl by Lozy Bug on YouTube)
...and more throughout the same chapter. In other words, while Kohane's singing make An experience new feelings and emotions, An doesn't want to be the only one of the two this happens to - so... She starts working towards doing it right back at her. But in BTBY, this specifically refers to the "I want to keep singing with you forever" feeling, too.
In other words, even the game version of Awake Now is basically An's Shiraishi character arc condensed into one song; it breaks down the point of conflict in BTBY down to it's bare essentials, and expands on motives that will later come back in play over a year later - and that is why I consider this song to be the best An Shiraishi comm.
And we haven't even gotten to the full version.

Why do you think s4 lmk is sometimes seen as a drop-off in writing quality compared to earlier seasons?
IS IT REALLY. That's so funny, I personally think s4 elevated lmk's writing to unbelievably high levels. It recontextualized previous seasons in ways that cemented my faith in lmk's writing team, and proved to me that this wasn't just going to be good, it was going to be GREAT, an honest to god masterpiece.
I find that the more complex the writing, when things like love and devotion aren't put into "good" or "bad" boxes, when characters are hypocrites and things develop in a way people don't like (it doesn't make them "feel good" but the writing itself is solid), that's when people start to say things like "the writing's gotten worse". I've seen plenty of takes for characters like Wukong and Viren (from The Dragon Prince), where folks want to boil down the mess and the complexity into "the writers don't know how to write this character," when the truth is the opposite. Sometimes, characters say one thing and do another and that's on purpose, thank you. Sometimes, characters mean well and have good intentions, but they still suck. Writing like that is fucking awesome.
(Big Owl House rant incoming, turn back now if you're not interested in that)
It's not really a surprise to me that something like The Owl House, where the characters are fairly one note and everything is said out loud and the themes are much more simplistic, is/was far more popular. Obviously, I don't want to shame anyone or make people feel bad for loving toh—like it's great if you love it, keep doing that—but I do think that objectively, toh has pretty weak writing (which honestly doesn't/doesn't have to determine how much you love it).
I was discussing this with a few friends last night, how with toh, the implications are hardly thought through, and characters aren't viewed beyond the role they can serve in the episode or the arc. Like, I think of the beginning of Hollow Mind, where King says "No one wants to believe they've spent their life following the wrong person", which is fine, it's something that could be interesting given the proper execution, but when you analyze it deeper, try to find the consistent character thread...it doesn't make any actual sense for King or the development he went through at the beginning of s2. Had he said something along the lines of "No one wants to believe they've spent their life following a lie", now THAT ties directly into the lie he believed for his whole life, and to King as a character. But that's not what happened, and that's never what happened in toh.
Even with Belos, the main villain, it's clear the writers wanted Grim Walker angst for Hunter, but they didn't want to explore the implications of Belos recreating his brother over and over again. So at that point, it's like...why not just have Hunter be adopted? Why have him be a grimmwalker at all if it's not something we're going to explore deeper on Belos' end?
Needless to say, lmk isn't like that. If a character has dialogue or a scene, it's going to contribute to our perception of them and their internal motivations. If Pigsy is worried about his relation to his ancestors in s4, and what that says about him, we can actually trace that back to 2x04: tradition matters to Pigsy, and it's a huge part of his heart, identity, and life. Of COURSE Pigsy is affected when he learns his ancestor was someone he doesn't like, someone who tried to eat the love of his life. He even tries to comfort MK with what he thinks is a shared experience, and it's AGH. It's so good
If something is established in lmk, it's expanded upon. Hell, even the Mayor of all characters was given his own spotlight outside of LBD. He even has a direct parallel to Azure—following and giving service to an Emperor before becoming disillusioned and changing loyalty to the person that will bring about real change: their Lady and their King.
Anyways,
I went on a super long tangent. I can't truly know why some people think of lmk s4 as a drop-off in writing quality, but those are some thoughts from me to you!

okay, now i can complain about reddit because they're getting on my nerves lol ever since PA's lawyer's new motion they've been insufferable, they're acting like they're getting their "ha-ha gatcha" moment but they're so dumb omfg i'm gonna preface this by saying that i'm not 100% sure of luigi's innocence, because there are a lot of coincidences and there's a lot of explaining on his side to do. i'm not 100% sure of his guilt either, first of all because we owe it to him as it's his right (lol) and because most of the evidence they've shown so far is incosistent and sketchy and they've broken the law multiple times in order to gather evidence. but for some reason, reddit's detectives and lawyers have decided that his PA lawyer's motion proves he did it. i don't even want to go read their discussions all over again because they get so much on my nerves, this morning when i read their comments and i saw that they had started their theories without even taking into considerations all the possibilities. they're like: no, he's guilty and that's the end of it!! yes, there is a chance they're trying to get most of the evidence thrown out because he's guilty. but there is also a chance they're trying to get evidence thrown out because he's not guilty. they started saying that dickey trying to get the notebook thrown out proves luigi did write the manifesto. in his motion dickey doesn't talk about a "manifesto", on the contrary he has said that the PD has labeled luigi's personal writings as "manifesto" improperly and without justification. totally the opposite. and then about the dna that they got through offering luigi drinks and food at the police station, they said them trying to get that thrown away proves the dna comparison is positive and proves his guilt. i believe this could also be another way to highlight the police's unlawful actions. we must remember that they're trying so hard to push the narrative of him being guilty to the point where there's a high chance they planted evidence. his lawyers may be trying to get rid of everything they can, because they could be worried all of those things can be twisted and used to make luigi guilty when he's not. if they're so sure they got the right guy, why get his dna through tricks and not proper procedure? what did they do with the things he used to drink or eat? like, hello, are we not noticing something's fishy or are we just playing cops trying to point a finger to someone even though you support his alleged actions and want to see him walk free? it's like they're annoyed by people who believe there's a high chance he actually didn't do it, so they're trying to get their "i've been saying this from the start hehehehehe i'm so smart and you're so dumb!!1!" it's like they're forgetting that whether you think he did it or not, we should want him free and should fight to make sure he gets a FAIR TRIAL!!! and the prosecution and the police are making sure he won't get that!!! HELLO??? THEY TRIED TO GET HIS DNA BY GIVING HIM FOOD AND SODA ARE YOU READING THIS SHIT?!?!? WHY AREN'T WE TALKING ABOUT THIS???
honestly i agree with everything you said and i was very much shocked when i saw that the police had given him drinks and taken his DNA from there, my first thought was that MUST be illegal right??!! but of course not, apparently it's a "common" practice by law enforcement in the us, so much so that the commoners there don't even flinch at the thought of somebody's rights being violated this way
and something that completely astounds me about the reddit opinions is how they never want to acknowledge that media and the government are trying to shape public perception and make him look guilty even before the trial starts and they just ignore that they're a part of the public and theirs is the perception the government is trying to sway in their favour and as a part of the public they're also helping shape other public's perception and that by doing all that they're doing (including armchair diagnosing him and psychoanalysing him to the ends of the earth) him the injustice of taking away his right to a fair trial

I'm just saying maybe you shouldn't talk about the Luddites if you actually refuse to engage with their historical struggle and the reasons for it and instead just perpetuate the bourgeois propaganda about them and somehow act that's the materialist take. get fucking serious please.
#swear MLs on here really do love to be contrarian instead of having actual material analysis#like I'm not saying every anti-AI take is a coming from a rational and sober class analysis#but being against an anti-ai sentiment because there is a popular swell of it and so it must be stupid#and then defending that stance as politically justified in part by denouncing people as luddites#and then when ppl tell you about *the actual class character of the luddite movement* and why it's relevant to a marxist tech crit today#and how the modern definition is a bourgeois corruption to poison the well against a genuine threat to rising industrial capitalism#... your response is 'well that's how people understand it today. luddism is a step away from anti-civ reactionaries'#WHO IS REJECTING A HISTORICAL MATERIALIST ANALYSIS HERE?#sipping on the idealism of bourgeois propaganda against actual working class revolt and calling that a materialist political program?#grow up.#meanwhile WHO ARE YOU BENEFITING?#what infrastructure consolidation are you defending???#what energy grid privatisation and calcification are you cheering? do you think that's actually going to be good for us??? ever????#fucking unserious ass people - some technology is a systematic harm!#some technology was made by capitalists for capitalist ends! and will never benefit the working class bc it was created specifically not to#you have to be able to use your big brained material analysis to understand the class character of technology!#otherwise what even is the fucking point of you#sometimes it's not something that would be good just bc the workers are running it!#GROW UP

sips 1, 5, 23
1 . Why do you like or dislike this character?
honestly i don’t think i’ve met or seen a person who doesn’t like sips lol. i think its because he is a huge part of the series, but also because of the way we’re shown him. we’re privy to pretty much his every major action, and we see him vulnerable and we are also told his thought process most of the time, which makes us understand him a lot more easily than we would if this story was told by a different player. i also think his character speaks to a lot of people because he’s so lost. i’m sorry i didn’t mean to type a whole paragraph is it obvious i have a lot of thoughts about him (a lot of the relability has to do w dingo playing him too) (also there’s just so much to cover with him, as well as gothi)
5 . What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
i’ve thought of a bunch of ideas for sips playlists, but the first one that comes to mind is toes by glass animals cuz of the theme of transforming animals into humanoids and general bellowing wilds vibe, as well as the song being sung from the perspective of a kind of devious scientist (who i imagine to be quinn-ora). any kind of despairing country rock also reminds me of him, also mad iq’s and the like
23 . Favorite picture of this character?
it’s not so much an image as a gif, but i think it still counts. its just like. such a sips moment in ep. 18 and shows the beginning of the hard right he took into his spiral into madness

How Tax-Saving SIPs Can Boost Your Returns: A Mutual Fund Portfolio Analysis
Tumblr media
Looking for clever funding options? Tax-saving SIP plans provide a powerful mixture of wealth creation and tax performance that general investment motors actually cannot suit. These specialized systematic funding plans work double duty—constructing your wealth at the same time as reducing your tax legal responsibility.
Understanding Tax-Saving SIPs
Tax-saving SIPs are characteristic similarly to ordinary systematic investment plans, however, with delivered tax blessings beneath Section 80C of the Income Tax Act. These plans generally spend money on Equity Linked Savings Schemes (ELSS), which have consistently established competitive overall performance metrics in mutual fund portfolio analysis reports.
What sets those investments aside is their precise aggregate of:
Tax deductions up to ₹1.5 lakh yearly
Relatively quick lock-in duration of simply three years (in comparison to five+ years for other tax-saving instruments)
Potential for better returns through fairness exposure
Disciplined in making an investment through automatic monthly contributions
The average rate of return in SIP investments with tax-saving advantages has traditionally outpaced conventional tax-saving contraptions like PPF and tax-saving constant deposits. While PPF typically offers round 7-7.5% returns, ELSS finances have brought 12-15% over longer maintaining periods.
Tax-Saving SIPs vs. Regular SIPs: The Performance Difference
When conducting a radical mutual fund portfolio analysis, numerous factors give an explanation for why tax-saving SIPs frequently outperform their everyday opposite numbers:
Compounding Advantage: The tax financial savings from these plans effectively provide extra capital for investment. This extra cash compounds over time, drastically growing your wealth creation capability.
Equity Focus: Tax-saving ELSS finances maintain predominantly fair portfolios, which usually supply better returns than debt devices over lengthy funding horizons. Detailed mutual fund portfolio analysis shows these fairness-oriented finances have traditionally generated returns 3-4% higher than balanced budgets over 7+ year periods.
Behavioral Benefits: The three-year lock-in duration prevents untimely withdrawals, permitting investments to journey out of marketplace volatility. This enforced area has demonstrated value in line with investor behavior research.
The average rate of return in SIP plans with tax advantages has remained competitive even during financial downturns. During the 2020 market crash, for instance, tax-saving SIPs recovered faster than many alternative investment options because of their equity-heavy composition.
Portfolio Impact of Tax-Saving SIPs
A comprehensive mutual fund portfolio analysis well-known shows that consisting of tax-saving SIPs can drastically decorate typical portfolio overall performance. Consider this state of affairs:
An investor within the 30% tax bracket making an investment of ₹12,500 month-to-month in a tax-saving SIP would keep ₹45,000 annually in taxes. Over a ten-year length, assuming an average rate of return in SIP of 12%, this would translate to about ₹26.5 lakhs—about ₹three. 7 lakhs more than an everyday SIP without tax blessings.
The key performance factors consist of:
Tax guard impact: The instant tax benefit offers effective returns from day one.
Equity publicity: Higher increase capacity in comparison to tax-saving fixed deposits or coverage plans
Rupee value averaging: Monthly investments clean out marketplace volatility consequences.
Professional control: Expert fund managers' behavior is ongoing mutual fund portfolio analysis to optimize holdings.
Making Tax-Saving SIPs Work for You
To maximize returns, remember those evidence-primarily based strategies:
Start early inside the economic 12 months instead of speeding investments in March.
Maintain constant investments no matter market situations.
Choose a price range with hooked-up lengthy-term song records.
Consider diversifying across multiple tax-saving funds for hazard control.
Based on widespread mutual fund portfolio analysis statistics, buyers who maintain tax-saving SIPs for durations exceeding 7 years have not often experienced negative returns, with the average rate of return in SIP plans always outperforming inflation. The mixture of tax performance and increased capacity makes tax-saving SIPs a compelling alternative for traders looking to optimize their funding strategy.

I've been thinking about your 3x03 LMK post and Wukong always reaching for power as his first option, and it reminded me of the advise he gave MK in s4 special about his monkey form. Wukong urges MK to use it despite the fear because it's powerful. He teaches some good things for sure, but also he kinda instills his bad habits as well?
It's like, what I love about them and their relationship.
I think Wukong (and he's similar to MK in this way) needs reassurance. He doesn't feel he can rely on his power alone, so he seeks out some external force. I think for MK, this force is his friends (or an antagonist) half the time—the other half of the time, when he's reaching for power at the expense of himself/others, he's trying to be more like his mentor.
By s4 (and especially TEW) Wukong's realized the harm this habit of his can cause, and he's chosen to rely on MK. MK in this instance is the external power source, but it's also Wukong relying on someone else for reassurance ("I mean, some of us could beat him, one of us specifically-"), which is more what MK would do.
So it's like, a step forward in some ways (Wukong relying on and having faith in MK) and a step back in others (Wukong pushing MK to reach for power an uncontrollable power himself).

How a SIP Investment Advisor in Alwar Help You Invest With Discipline?
Tumblr media
Introduction
Are you tired of worrying about your finances? Do you wish you had a clear plan for your investments? Look no further than a SIP investment advisor in Alwar. These professionals can help you invest with discipline, allowing you to grow your wealth over time.
What is an SIP?
A SIP is a way to invest a fixed amount of money at regular intervals in a mutual fund. This approach allows you to take advantage of rupee cost averaging, which means that you buy more units when the price is low and fewer units when the price is high. Over time, this can result in a lower average cost per unit and potentially higher returns.
Why Discipline Matters?
Investing can be emotional, and it's easy to get caught up in the ups and downs of the market. This can lead to impulsive decisions, such as selling when the market is down or buying when it's up. These types of decisions can hurt your long-term returns.
What are the benefits of a SIP?
Professional guidance: A SIP investment advisor can provide you with the right investment option.
Discipline: A SIP investment advisor can help you stay disciplined and avoid impulsive decisions.
Convenience: A SIP investment advisor can handle all the details of your investments, allowing you to focus on other things.
Diversification: A SIP investment advisor can help you create a diversified portfolio, which can help reduce risk.
Portfolio Analysis Advisors in Alwar: The investment advisor professionals can help you understand the performance of your investments and make informed decisions.

paws and chaos | lando norris
synopsis: in which you and Lando decide to adopt a golden retriever
a/n: i don’t know about you guys, but Lando always gives off golden retriever energy, so it’s only logical that he adopts a goldie
pairing: lando norris x girlfriend!reader
my masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had all started with an innocent comment on your part.
"I saw the cutest video of a puppy on TikTok this morning" you had said one morning, scrolling through your phone while Lando sipped on a cup of tea next to you.
"Oh yeah?" he said, looking up from his phone to look at you.
"Yeah. I'd love to have one someday" you said, absentmindedly.
Lando tilted his head, his lips curling into a mischievous smile.
"Someday? Why not today?" he asked, making you blink up at him.
"What?"
"Let's get a dog today" he said, his voice filled with excitement.
"Lando, we can't just-" you started, ready to list all of the reasons as to why this was not a good idea.
But Lando was having none of it. He had already stood up from the dining table, his tea long forgotten as he grabbed his laptop from the counter.
And that's how you found yourselves, twenty minutes later, scrolling through the website of the nearby animal shelter in Monaco. Each puppy he pointed out seemed cuter and sweeter than the last, and despite every protest you tried to make about the two of you being unprepared to care for a puppy, you couldn't deny the effect that each of the tiny faces staring back at you had.
After meticulous analysis of every puppy picture on the website, Lando had stopped on the one.
A scruffy little thing with floppy ears, soulful eyes and a patch of fur that stuck up awkwardly on the top of his head. Both of your hearts melted once you had stared at the picture, a silent agreement that this was the one for you.
The shelter had named him Benny, but Lando immediately decided to rename him Turbo.
"Look at him! He's perfect, don't you think?" he exclaimed excitedly, practically bouncing in his seat.
You sighed, a smile tugging at your lips as you looked at your overjoyed boyfriend.
"Do you really think we can do this?" you asked, wanting to make sure he knew what he was getting himself into.
He nodded, his eyes staring back at you.
"Fine, let's go meet him"
♡♡♡♡♡
Not even an hour later, you were at the animal shelter, waiting for the staff to bring out Benny Turbo.
The moment he toddled into the room, he made a straight beeline for Lando, his tiny tail wagging so hard it looked like it might propel him off the floor and into the air.
"Mate, you're going to break the sound barrier with that thing" Lando laughed, scooping the puppy into his arms.
Turbo immediately licked Lando's cheek, earning a delighted squeal from your boyfriend.
After a couple of moments, the goldie turned his attention to you. And then it was game over. He wiggled out of Lando's arms and climbed into your lap, pawing at your hands and nibbling on your fingers with his tiny teeth.
"Okay, he's absolutely adorable" you admitted, your heart completely stolen as you enjoyed the attention from the small puppy.
Lando grinned triumphantly.
"I told you" he said, making you roll your eyes.
By the time you got home, Turbo had already earned himself the spot as the king of the house.
He darted from one room into another, sniffing everything he encountered in his sight. When he found Lando's shoe near the couch, he proudly dragged it to his newly installed bed and plopped down on it, staring at the two of you with the shoe still in his mouth.
"Turbo, that's not a chew toy" Lando groaned, chasing after him.
You watched from the doorway, laughing as Lando tried to wrestle the shoe from the determined and stubborn puppy.
It ended with both of them sprawled on the floor, Turbo wagging his tail like he'd won a championship, the shoe still with him.
"What did we get ourselves into?" you thought to yourself.
♡♡♡♡♡
The next few weeks were a whirlwind of adorable chaos.
Turbo was a ball of endless energy, absolutely no corner from your home being safe from his antics and zoomies.
He chewed on the table legs, got tangled into the window curtains and almost broke them. He even managed to steal an entire loaf of bread off the counter while you weren't looking at him.
"Where's the bread I just bought?" you asked one evening, looking around the kitchen with a confused face.
Lando looked around with you until he stopped in his tracks, his eyes wide.
"Uh... Turbo?" he slowly said, his eyes focused on the living room.
You followed his gaze to the room, seeing Turbo sat proudly next to the loaf you had been looking for, crumbs scattered all around him on the carpet like confetti.
"I can't even be mad at him" you sighed picking him up.
He smiled as he started licking your face, his tail thumping against your arm excitedly as he got your attention and affection.
Lando laughed, quickly taking out his phone to snap a picture of you and Turbo.
"You're going to break the internet with that face, Turbo" Lando said, looking at his phone for a moment.
You laughed, leaning down to press a sweet kiss on the top of his fluffy head.
A couple of hours later, it was late into the evening when you and Lando decided to head to your shared bedroom.
Despite the mischief and endless zoomies, Turbo was the sweetest little cuddle bug when nighttime came. Every night, just like that night, he would climb into bed with you and lay down between you and Lando, waiting for belly scratches.
"This is my favorite part of the day" you said, scratching Turbo's ears as he sighed contentedly.
"Yeah, mine too" Lando said, staring at you two.
What more could he want in life?
♡♡♡♡♡
As the weeks passed and Turbo grew, so did the bond between the three of you.
You celebrated every little milestone that he would have: his first trip to the local park where he chased the butterflies and made friends with every dog he came across, every road trip that you guys would take where Turbo would insist on sitting on your lap, every Grand Prix that he would attend as Lando's number 1 fan.
You celebrated and captured every moment.
But you also loved the bond between him and Lando.
One night, after coming home late from a girls' night out, you found Lando lying on the floor with Turbo sprawled across his chest. Lando was whispering softly to him, his voice filled with affection for his little best buddy
"You know, you're the best decision I've ever made. But don't tell your mother I said that, she'll get jealous" he said, running is fingers through Turbo's soft fur.
"I heard that" you called from the doorway, grinning widely as Lando looked up sheepishly.
Lando reached out to you, prompting you to sit down next to him, smiling once Turbo got up from Lando's chest and settled on your lap.
"Traitor" Lando said, pouting as he lost in your detriment.
You shrugged, sticking your tongue out at him as you cuddled Turbo close to your chest.
"You're both the best decisions I've ever made" Lando whispered under his breath, making sure that neither of you heard him.
He was just grateful for you both.
♡♡♡♡♡
Months later, as you sat on the couch with Lando's arm around your shoulders and Turbo snoring softly in your lap, you realized just how much joy the tiny, scruffy puppy had brought into your lives.
"I have to give you credit. Turbo was the best impulse decision you've ever talked me into making" you murmured, your hand continuing to caress his soft fur.
You felt Lando smile against the top of your head before planting a kiss.
"I told you"
And as Turbo let out a little snort in his sleep, you couldn't imagine your home without him or without Lando by your side.
They were everything you could ever need.

༄ `. 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒
summary: natasha romanoff is your intimidating, brilliant guest lecturer in an advanced political theory course. you’re a grad student who always challenges her ideas in class — something she seems to enjoy a little too much.
genre : professor x college student au.

Tumblr media
The clock on the wall ticks past 6:00 PM and you should be gone because everyone else is but you're still here, standing in front of Professor Romanoff’s desk, heart thudding like you just ran across campus.
Your paper — the one you poured a week’s worth of caffeine and passive aggression into — lies between you and your teacher like a live wire.
You could’ve let it go. Could’ve sent a petty email or stewed in silence over your B+ — but no. You're standing here after hours because you knew she'd still be in, grading with that meticulous red pen, sipping coffee that’s probably cold by now.
Her red hair is pulled back in that perfect low ponytail, glasses perched on her nose, eyes fixed on the printed essay you dropped in front of her.
“A B+? ” You repeat, arms folded, left brow raised. “Seriously?”
Natasha leans back in her chair, unfazed, “Your analysis lacked depth. You made broad claims and didn't support them.”
Her lips curve slightly — not a smile, more like a dare.
“It was generous. You missed the core argument entirely — trying to prove too much and did too little.”
“I challenged your opinion,” You fire back. “It was a good paper. You just didn’t agree with what I said.”
“You challenged it poorly,” She replies, calm as ever, fingers steepled, cooly showing her dominance over you. “And I didn’t agree because you didn’t convince me. Next time use evidence.”
Oh this woman could be so infuriating but you couldn't help yourself.
There’s always been something loaded in your interactions — the tension, the eye contact that lingers just a second too long, the way she pauses before saying your name, like it sits differently in her mouth.
Stepping forward, you opted to stand your ground. "Or maybe you just didn’t want to admit I had a point. You mark me harder than anyone else,” you continue. “Even when I make the same mistakes others do.”
“Because I hold you to the standard I know you can meet.”
“And what standard is that?”
She rises slowly from her chair. The difference in your height disappears instantly — she always stands like she owns the air between you. She circles the desk until she’s in front of you, close enough for her perfume to replace your thoughts.
“I should remind you,” Natasha says, low, “that this is highly inappropriate.”
You don’t step back, neither for your gaze that's still on her. “Then tell me to leave.”
Instead of telling you anything, she leans in and kisses you like it’s the last chance she’ll ever get. Desperate, controlled — until you kiss her back, and the control slips.
You’re pushed gently against the desk, her hands braced on either side of you, mouth hot on yours, tongue teasing. She groans softly when your hands slide under her blouse, your nails dragging across skin.
Her voice is low and rough: “You always had to be the one I couldn't ignore.”
Her hands are on your thighs, dragging up your skirt. Her mouth moves to your neck, biting just hard enough to mark. You gasp her name, and she exhales against your skin like it’s a confession.
You barely register being lifted until you’re seated on the desk, legs spreading instinctively as she steps between them.
“You sure?” Your teacher asks quietly, fingers brushing your cheek.
You nod, “Yeah. I’ve been sure.”
Her lips crash into yours again, hands warm against bare skin. You help her strip your shirt off, tossing it blindly across the office. Her mouth trails back down your neck, slow and deliberate, nipping at the base of your throat until you shiver.
You tug her blouse free from her slacks. She helps you unbutton it, letting it fall open just enough to expose black lace and smooth skin. She doesn’t let you go further — not yet — instead reaching under your skirt, fingertips skimming the tops of your thighs.
“Already wet for me,” She says with a smug smile.
“Shut up,” You breathe.
She chuckles, mouth brushing your ear. “Make me.”
You gasp when her fingers slip under your panties, dragging through your slick folds with infuriating patience. She kisses you again — slow this time — as she circles your clit, teasing until your hips jerk forward.
When her fingers enter you — two at once, deep, slow, smooth, curling just right — your whole body tightens.
She keeps her pace controlled, curling her fingers expertly with every thrust. Her other hand spreads over your stomach, grounding you as your hips roll into her touch and you moan into her mouth. She swallows it like a prize, her free hand gripping your hip to keep you steady.
“Natasha—” your voice breaks.
“Just like that,” she breathes. “You’re doing so well.”
You cling to her shirt, panting, thighs trembling as she fucks you steadily. Each stroke is perfect — practiced — like she’s imagined this too many times to get it wrong. You don’t even care about being quiet anymore. Her name leaves your lips like a plea.
“Look at you,” The redhead murmurs. “Taking my fingers so well.”
Not so long after, she feels you clench around her fingers. She then leans in close.
“I’ve got you,” she says, mouth back on your clit. “Let go for me.”
And you do — back arching, mouth open in a soundless cry, eyes fluttering shut as you unravel.
She kisses you through it — Gentle, reassuring — Her fingers slow, easing out, hands trailing soft patterns down your thighs.
Natasha helps you off the desk, straightening your clothes while adjusting her own.
You look at her with a smirk. “So… does this mean I get an A now?”
She raises an eyebrow. “I’m not giving you an A+ because we fucked.”
You laugh, breathless. “Right. Because I earned it.”
Her hand brushes your waist again, lingering. “That you did.”
. . .
Later, she sits beside you on the office couch, one arm around your shoulders, your legs folded over hers.
Her office is still and dim again, save for the faint glow of the desk lamp. Your body’s still buzzing, thighs trembling slightly as the rush begins to settle.
Natasha doesn’t say anything right away. She just stays close, fingers brushing gently over your hips, grounding you. Then she reaches down and grabs a clean hand towel from her drawer — you blink, surprised, and she smirks like she’s done this before. Maybe not this, not with you, but... she's always been prepared.
“This okay?” She questions, voice low and careful.
“Yeah. Just… a little shaky.”
She moves slowly, wiping between your legs with deliberate care — never rushed, never rough. She kisses your inner thigh when she’s done, then helps you back into your underwear, smoothing the fabric tenderly.
You don’t realize how much you needed the softness until she pulls you into her lap on the office couch, arms winding around your waist. You bury your face into the curve of her neck, letting your breathing even out against her skin.
Her fingers stroke lazy circles over your spine. “You were perfect.”
“You didn’t go easy on me.”
“You’d hate it if I did.”
You laugh, muffled against her collarbone, and she presses her lips to your temple.
After a few minutes, she pulls back slightly and lifts your chin so your eyes meet. “You good? Wasn't too much?”
The way she double checks has you with that fluttering feeling in the pit of your stomach.
With a smile, you say, “No. It was… exactly what I wanted.”
A small smile touches her lips too. “Good.”
She passes you a water bottle from the side table. You take a few sips, and she watches you like she’s making sure you’ll actually drink all of it.
When you lean back against her, more relaxed now, her hand slides down to rest over your thigh.
The silence that follows isn’t awkward — just full of everything neither of you can say right now. But her thumb brushing rhythmically over your skin says enough.
But then,
“You gonna give me that A now?”
“No.” She helps you sit up, tucking your hair behind your ear. “But I might let you argue for extra credit — over dinner.”
You grin. “Romantic or academic?”
“Both.”

havent posted in a minute so heres some character analysis.. kind of.
i think Ghost’s biggest flaw in the relationship wouldn't be his roughness, or like the nightmares and the fear of commitment.
Ghost treats you like a soldier; he doesn't expect you to do 50 pushups, lord forbid. No, he forgets to explain his strange choices, then he expects you to listen without question because he knows it’s good for you even if you dont know whats happening, and sometimes, he’ll even scrutinise your thinking.
“I dont need new ones.” He grunts, pulling on his worn boots as you argue, trying to coax him into getting a fresh pair rather than these tattered ones. The brand logo has all been scraped off now, and you’re positive he’s worn a hole into a shoe.
“But Si-”
“No.”
He doesn't consider that you want to help him, that you just want to make life comfortable for him because no one has done that before. No one’s meddled in his personal life enough to get angry at his worn attire. In turn, the door closes with his typical rough slam, but it feels amplified to you.
Similarly, this also happens when you’re nervous about something mundane. You’ve been doing his bloody head in all morning as you mumble about the tattered car he drives, and in turn lets you use it until you eventually buy your own. “I just- it looks so unsteady—“
“It’ll get you to work and back in one piece.” He manages to shove down the scoff, but his words are no less blunt, stabbing his fork into the plate.
“But it creaks when i get in and the wheel cover is peeling—“
He’s been through worse, damn he’s drove a plane with a damaged wing to safety before, let alone a damn rusty car. You watch as he pinches his brow, unbelieving that you can be so agitated by something so minor. Yet that minor issue is the worst thing that has happened in terms of driving for you.
Sometimes he’ll raise his voice, just because that’s how he always gets the rookies to listen to him. But you’re no rookie, and you just stare at him as he bellows for you to just ‘ignore it’. He’s stirring his tea in the kitchen when he hears the door of the bedroom close, your form leaving him behind. The stench of blood weighs heavy in the air, the one he refuses to clean off because he’s just so desensitised to it. He’s exhausted after all of this— can't you just cut him some slack? His soldiers would, they wouldn't care if he had blood on his damn face, touching the rim of the mug as he sipped from it.
But you did, you always cared because no one barks at you like that, no one brushes off the horrifying stench, no one thinks that driving a car whose wheel has gone flat three times this past week is normal.
He does though. Never has he known anything different, and that wont change but he does know that the closed door is different. And when he steps in to see the pinched brow, the hands over your face as your knees hunch together— he knows that your normal is very different to his normal.
buy me a kofi!
