Random post but it always annoyed me when people called Walter weak or a p*ssy for getting scared during the Shadelight part of Fable 3. Do people not understand he has PTSD surrounding caves and the dark?

Guess what?! The Crawler represents BOTH of those and it’s talking to him. Y’all really think he’s weak for freaking out during a trigger?

Also for those who say it didn’t break the Hero. Y’all. The Hero of Brightwall is the player character. Of course it isn’t.

Of course the Old Hero King was a good man, ultimately anyway. But the unfortunate part of being a Good Man, is that no one knows your darkest parts, so no one really knows or loves you. A running list of the sucky things Sparrow has done:

Convinced multiple people that he loved them, only to have sex with them.

Slept with various people's husbands and wives, sometimes in their own houses.

Cheated on Alex throughout their entire marriage.

When he first became king, had a three year long affair with Reaver, and overlooked some of Reaver's more objectively evil actions throughout that time.

Started an affair with Sir Walter Beck while Alex is pregnant with Luke (hobw)

Was secretly happy when Alex died during childbirth

Speaking of children, though he never, EVER, said anything, Logan was his favorite son.

On the night he died, he promised Luke he'd talk to him in the morning, but Sparrow knew he was going to die that night.

This was posted in 2014, and the first fic posted on my (at the time) shiny new ao3 and ffn accounts. I'm glad it's still there because I can definitely see how my writing has evolved over time.

After his encounter with Alduin at the Time Wound, the Dragonborn has an existential crisis.

My first fic after a really long dry spell (7 years!) and oh boy was this a labour of love. Very dialogue heavy. Writing my Dragonborn’s Khajiiti dialect was a challenge, but so very worth it.

Another Skyrim one, this one in my Caria Dragonborn collection. This one (and all the ones in her series) are used for practicing writing humor and to loosen up. Since I'm primarily an angst writer, I tend to get hung up on details. Mistakes is probably my favourite of the series.

The first time Sparrow died, he wasn't even aware it happened, nor the next, nor the next. Eventually he has to stop tricking himself; he knows he can't die. Why can't he die?

My pride and joy. A time loop one-shot with a checkpoint system. This one was slowly worked on over the course of a year and hooo boy was it difficult. At the time, it was the heaviest thing I had written, and I have never been more proud of myself.

Least Words: Produce Boxes and Baking Mishaps are tied for least at 100 words each. These were both exercises in drabbles and humour.

a character directory, i guess? these are characters central to the plot and will be brought up as npcs. some of them i will write in the background, but they're not up for individual interactions.

ben finn . a former ally of the revolution, and a former captain of the military (old guard), after the second war with the crawler, he left on a self-discovery adventure.

page . leader of the bowerstone resistance and former ally of the revolution. after the second war with the crawler, page went back to the sewers to continue the fight against reaver.

elliot . former fiancé, and was sentence to death by logan.

logan . brother and former king, after the second life, he was sent to aurora to do community service work.

major swift . publicly executed by logan, a former major in the military and ally.

hobson . a current aide to winnie, is about to be fired because that man is getting on her last nerves.

sir walter beck . ally, teacher, and father figure. died during the second war.

jasper . butler and second father figure. lives in the sanctuary.

sabine . leaders of the dwellers and ally of the reolution. winnie made a promise to reforest their lands and bring supplies to his people, winnie kept this promise and also brings him in when discussing kingdom affairs to get his input.

kalin . leader of the aurorans and ally of the revolution. kalin wanted aurora to be a part of the albion kingdom and to have aide and resources to help with the crawler, as it originally haunted auroran lands. winnie kept her promises, and invites kalin over when discussing kingdom affairs.

saker . a leader of a mercenary camp, winnie had spared his life in turn of leaving the dweller camp alone, he has so far kept his promise and he and his men haven't really caused any trouble since then. he had fought in the revolution helping winnie get into power, a 'so we're both even' kind of thing.

The apparition of Sir Walter Beck visibly sat with as much weight as he had when alive, except without it. He did not bob up and down, his essence did not surge nor wane, but its transparent nature explained his ghostly existence, as comfortable as his corporeal one had once been in the very same chair.

"I hadn't always had a happy life— some bad breaks, and bad choices— but I was lucky. It wasn't a life of 'almosts and could-haves'... and two of the best things in my life were the person at the very beginning and the person at the very end. That's a pretty good thing to be able to say, I think."

What was it that kept him there? He had no idea. He felt at peace, and yet, something wasn't allowing him to go on... Oh well. What time did he have to lose?
