Progress!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Major progress has been made with finally assembling the limbs together. Having some major issues with the spine though, it's obvious now that we didn't bend it into the right position at the beginning. We bent it to the best of our abilities and for right now it's still very wonky, you may notice the string holding the pose in place.
He's going to be a bit of a awkward fox but I think I did pretty well for a 1st attempt. His ribs and tail still need to be added.
I have to fly back to school tomorrow so I am depressed to say the project is going to be on pause for the time being.

This is something I had not mentioned
One of my skeletons arrived at what could be said to be the most important museum in the city and one of the most important in Mexico, the Museo del Desierto
The story of this skeleton is funny, a partner who finds me animals to work with asked me to work on this snake and he paid me with around 12 snakes, all over 2.5 meters
The idea was that this skeleton was going to be for one of his clients, a wealthy and extravagant guy who actually lives in my area.
We were going to place the skeleton in an urn on a black marble with black lights on the sides so that the skeleton would glow.
When I finished the skeleton and they picked it up to do the urn after about a week my partner called me and gave me the news that in the man did not want it because "his wife did not like it" so we abandoned the idea of the marble and we began to look for a buyer for the skeleton as it was, I offered it to my boss of the taxidermy workshop who, by the way, said that he want it but since he did not pay and the one who pays first is the one who wins, the director ended up buying it of said museum that he paid in cash the same day that my partner offered it to him
The next day we went to deliver it, I met this person who congratulated me and then my partners congratulated me because the director congratulated me since apparently he never congratulates anyone and it is very very very rare that something surprises him, and boy was he surprised with my job
Anyway, all the staff were behind us fascinated with the piece that we were taking to the herpetarium of the museum where it is currently on display and luckily for me they told me that there are probably projects available to take there since they don't have anyone to take care of the osteotechniques of reptiles
So, that is the story of how a client turned out badly for us and now I have the doors open to work in one of the most important museums in my country, and all because a lady did not like the skeleton :v

And I leave a photo of the skeleton the day we left it at the museum

So I still have a bunch of assemblage pieces, mostly some of the original Tarot of Bones art along with a few other odds and ends. I could really use the space here in the studio, so make me an offer! You can see everything that’s currently available at https://www.etsy.com/shop/thegreenwolf?section_id=6708168 - keep in mind that current prices include shipping, but again, I am open to offers for single or multiple pieces, and payment plans are available. Drop me a line at lupa(dot)greenwolf(at)gmail(dot)com :)

Nvm, I figured it out myself and decided to share my newfound knowledge in the form of a badly drawn but easy to understand guide. So, enjoy
"Where do the ribs go?? An illustrated guide" Shown are cat bones but it probably works for things with similar skeletal structures as well

Fox Skeleton (Got Me Some Legs)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Progress is finally speeding up! Both back legs are complete!! The goal is to finish before I return to school this upcoming Tuesday.
Next up will be the front legs and paws! The last will probably be either the ribs or the tail.

I'm finally done
The 3.74 meter reticulated python is finally finished, I am extremely proud, I feel like a peacock
There were probably more than a thousand pieces and I still have a 2.5 meter burmese degreasing and two other snakes in the freezer waiting to be cleaned and articulated

Progress shot on my fox skeleton articulation 😄 It's going a lot quicker now that it's summer, but unfortunately this is all I'll be able to get done for now besides the ribs. There's a few paw bones that I'm missing, but fear not I've got a beetle guy who's gonna hook me up.
