i've been consuming dsmp content + ccs for about 4 months now. apparently its heyday was only two years ago. i feel like an archaeologist unearthing an increasingly cursed mythology with more twists than the story of jamestown. repeat cases of ccs writing their own fanfiction or reading fanfiction about them. cc relationships portrayed and treated as if they've known each other for decades when it fact it was less than 5 years. multiple instances of ccs who don't currently publicly interact but used to be close and mysteriously stopped. a disproportionate number of professedly straight men shipping themselves as if they were fans. utterly nonsensical phrases banned from twitch chats. and it doesn't stop there. the breaches of containment are unlike anything i've ever seen. several documented cases of mainstream celebrities reaching across the veil, unprompted, to engage these ccs. an overwhelming feeling that this entire fandom and anyone associated with it is public internet enemy #1. a genre of music on spotify??? every week i stumble across evidence of some historical thing that would send any previous fandom i've ever encountered into incoherent hysterics for the rest of time, and here they are nothing more than passing faded landmarks. there is more ooc lore than one man could ever hope to learn. i thank god i am past the age of obsessing over interests or this alternate dimension would surely swallow me whole. as it is, i will claim a perch from a safe distance to make further observations as it continues its strange evolution.

I was gonna make a comment on someone else’s post but I’ll just make a new one cuz I don’t wanna derail theirs XD

(This is aimed at the fandom, the characters being confused about 4halo is perfectly fine lol)

In regards to 4halo, I think the fandom needs to keep in mind that cc!bbh has said q!bbh is aromantic. That means that you will never be able to put any of his relationships into neat little boxes of platonic or romantic.

I’m aromantic and I’ve had people tell me my relationship with one of my closet friends has to be a romantic one because of how close we are/how we act with each other when it’s not in the way they are imagining. We aros often joke that we’ve unlocked a “secret third thing” but a lot of times relationships aren’t as cut and dry as you’d like to believe even between allosexuals - especially within the queer community.

A romantic relationship is not defined by what people do with each other or how they act around each other but by their attraction to each other. Q!bbh has made it pretty clear he has no romantic or sexual attraction to anyone so trying to put his relationships in those boxes is going to leave you disappointed.

As an aromantic person, it’s difficult to classify my relationships into these simplistic categories so I usually just avoid the question or change the subject. Q!bbh does the same.

Part of it is that cc!bbh is a troll and is obligated to always chose the dialogue option to create maximum drama but the other part is q!bbh probably doesn’t know how to explain the nature of his relationship with Forever in terms of romantic or platonic because it doesn’t fall into either.

It’s just like his relationship with Skeppy. They are immortal soulmates who are extremely possessive and codependent but good fucking luck trying to put their relationship in a box.

I think trying to look at 4halo through a purely romantic or platonic lens is doing yourself and the characters a massive disservice. You cannot forget or ignore that fact that q!bbh is canonically aromantic when analyzing this ship. Yeah go on a write ur romance or smut or what ever but when looking at the cannon, do not forget it or you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

Animal Impulses for sure!!! was NOT expecting the insane amount of comments, kudos, and hits. It's literally my second most viewed fic, the only one beating it being a Sanders Sides crime AU I wrote years ago that has like 55 chapters. It was absolutely bonkers and fucking yonkers

Security from my Flores Facets series!!!! literally the funnest guy in the world to write, his insane wacky vibes are unmatched and writing his interactions with others and his dialogue was honestly like the best thing ever. I can't wait to write more of him :3

18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?

hmmmmm good question!!!! I think I'd say my c!Aimsey from Dreamstuck. Their personality was super hard to pin down and I remember getting stuck on multiple scenes with her in it. Once I figured it out, his dialogue came easy, but while I was still figuring out how I wanted to write her, it was kind of difficult!!! could be because I just don't watch cc!Aimsey much

Tommy is a sixteen year old hero sidekick, he works for the number one hero dream. Not only does he work for him but he also lives with him. Tommy had a house fire when he was 7, his parents both died, Tommy being the only survivor. Dream was the one to rescue Tommy. After the news his parents passed dream had offered to adopt Tommy. He then found out about Tommy's healing powers.

Tommy grew older, Dream began to train Tommy so he could be a hero. He got more and more aggressive and strict towards him, more possessive.

Let's say his teaching methods weren't...Nice. He wasn't even nice generally. Living with him was hell but, what could Tommy do about it? He's the number one hero after all.

He became a sidekick and things got worse. So many scars from villains, so many nights where he had overused his powers. so many times he got into an argument or even a fight with dream.

Dream is just not a good person. Tommy knew that, he did. He just... he just wanted to have some hope that somewhere in his heart was good.

When he turned sixteen, dream had let him get a job and Bad's bakery. There he felt... more happy.

It was like a home he never had.

To say that Skeppy didn’t expect this would be an understatement. For a while, he never even thought he’d be able to meet Bad in person. Let alone the current situation he found himself in. He’d never expected to end up in just his boxers, laid on his back on Bad’s bed. It was comfortable, but that wasn’t where it ended. That was your motivation. That was the reason your power, the fire, grew until you could feel your skin burning.

You stood on the top of the Egg, then waited. Waited until the fire was too much for even yourself. The Egg began cracking under you, screeching as everything around it caught on fire.
