4+ Advantages of Adopting Skill-Based Training

Traditional training approaches aim to educate employees regarding basic concepts, like processes, products, and important policies. Such a generalized training approach tends to ignore the individual requirements of employees. Until and unless a personalized training approach is adopted, companies will not be able to maximize their productivity. This can be achieved with the help of a good competency management system. This system enables authorities to adopt a training approach that is based on skills gaps in the company. To implement this system in your firm, and enjoy the benefits that it offers, get in touch with the highly efficient team of IYS Skills Tech. Keep on reading to discover the major advantages of implementing a training approach based on skills.
Adopt Skill-Based Training Approach to Enjoy These Advantages
This is an excellent training strategy that will offer employees different skills and abilities that are crucial for executing the responsibilities of their job successfully. Discussed below are some of the main advantages offered by this training approach.
1. Thrive In the Dynamic Business Environment
One of the main advantages offered by skill-based training initiatives is that they offer companies the ability to thrive in the highly competitive business domain. All industries are evolving at a rapid pace, and to overcome this competition, acquiring new and efficient skills is important. When employees are offered training based on skills, they will gather the ability to adapt to changes in the market, technologies, and processes efficiently.
2. Higher Retention Rate Is Observed
If the organization invests in the development of employees, they will feel valued, and this can lead to better job satisfaction. Employees will feel motivated and engaged. This will eventually lead to better retention rates.
3. Lowers The Need For Supervision

Lan Wangji Goes To Lotus Pier AU: Part 1: Dread on Arrival
(Part 2)
#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#lan wangji#jiang fengmian#jiang cheng#wei wuxian#Yungmeng Jiang Training Arc AU#MDZS AU#The AU name for this idea is something I am 100% willing to change if someone has a better one.#There will be at least 2-3 more comics so *please*. Ideas and feedback welcome.#The core idea behind this AU is that LWJ goes to study with the Yunmeng Jiang sect instead of JC and WWX going to Cloud Recess#But why? Well I imagine Lan Xichen set it up to give LWJ a challenge (more social than skill based) and LWJ rose to it (begrudgingly)#Sort of a 'You've mastered so many Lan techniques but Other Sects have styles that are worth learning.' set up.#Lan Qiren agrees mostly on the basis that...well it's LWJ. Yunmeng Jiang is unruly but LWJ is beyond that riff-raff. He'll rise above it.#This is the story of a boy who thrives on routine and rules spending time in a place that is his apparent antithesis.#Also it is so warm there. He is used to it being cold and what do you MEAN just take off some of my layers?#I just want to see him struggle and flail in many situations. And get him in Jiang Purple. Is that so wrong of me?#(Soaking wet JC is part of my 'JC was born to swim; forced to hold a sword' agenda. Do not remove him from the water)#((Politeness notes: JFM would *not* call LWJ 'lan wangji' nor would LWJ be vocally impolite to a sect leader.))

rewatching m:i4 and reveling in how Benji is so far from the "tech guy who gets tech more than he gets people" stereotype. telling Ethan they can access the server in Dubai from the outside which sounds homicidally absurd until you realize he grabbed the climbing gloves from the tech cache earlier. consistently reassuring Brandt that he'll catch him when he jumps in Mumbai. offhandedly complimenting Ethan on the plane he found for them! sure he starts out awkward but he's so warm and friendly and it's easy to see how he becomes the heart of the series. Simon Pegg thank you for your service 🫡
and yeah, yeah, i know he keeps volunteering Ethan to do crazy stunts all the time but like. after the high of picking exactly the right equipment for your inhumanly competent work hero to complete a task before you even knew said task existed, who could blame him? i bet they test equipment together and it's a nightmare for everyone else involved
#mission impossible#benji dunn#based on the couple of minutes we got in m:i3 i hc he had to brush up on his people skills in field training#but man. i too would demand to work with him for the next 16 years

stg, being an enjoyer of jane twdg is like being forced into an expert-level course on the way misogyny manifests in video game spaces.
god forbid a woman be complex or difficult or provably mischaracterized (see tags) at the end of her arc to service the culmination of a man’s storyline.
#“kenny was harrowed by loss in his family” so was jane. that is part of them literally being foils.#“kenny teaches clem more!” literally untrue a lot of clem’s combat style is rooted in what jane taught her (targeting the knees & basically#everything clem knows about knife combat- jane is also mirrored with lee in this sense as like was previously stated knife combat later goe#on to become a major element of how clem fights only outweighed by her use of firearms)#she teaches clem the gut trick & we see the innovative thinking that comes with being more independent & proactive influence the way clem#handles sticky situations & deals with feeling disempowered. like this is going to sound odd but the fact that her behaviour mirrors jane#at her best (even though her relationship with aj is more maternal the way she approaches him much more as an equal & capable of holding#agency over his own life is much more reminiscent of the way she was treated by jane & luke positively + the rest of the adults negatively#than how kenny or even lee treated clem [though lee did start to view her this way after the train] + her people reading skill.) & at her#worst (isolating herself + becoming cold + the fact she is [based on player choice] willing to leave aj behind for both their survival +#struggling with her need for community vs her sense of distrust in their lasting stability + her tendency to be unfeelingly pragmatic to a#fault except when it comes to aj + the fact that clem- at her worst is self-serving & somewhat uncaring in comparison to kenny’s possessive#hot-headedness etc) indicates that on some level- regardless of a player’s second season ending- clem considered jane to be a better#behavioural role model- this isn’t to say kenny was unimpactful but rather that his impact was different- where behaviourally we see elemen#of lee luke jane & even carver in clem’s later behaviour kenny’s impact is more so that of a cautionary tale- somebody clem cared for who#she witnessed lose himself entirely to his worst character flaws due to an inability to cope with the world she now lives in- something he#even admits to her in multiple endings iirc. kenny becomes the fate clem must strive against at all costs.#similar can be said of the ending where you go with jane regarding how it analogies clem’s fears & low self worth as a result of being#unable to maintain what she had with aj (in a manner that mirrors jane’s story in that she’s choosing to leave behind a living relative due#to no longer being able to be what they need- again depending on player choice*)#*my exact memory of the third season is hazier tbh. iirc it is dependent on player choice whether she is complacent with the decision to#make her leave the new frontier.#like the way the ending was handled was sloppy & jane was mischaracterized as a result of being shoved into a conflict that we know for#certain was not intended to go to her. calm down & just enjoy your man without being weird & misogynistic dear god.)#(also if you like clem & jane you will like holly robinson & selina kyle dc)#twdg jane#jane twdg#twdg

people struggling w kcd need to forget how every other rpg works you will save yourself the frustration by expecting it to be easy
#prioritize having a place to sleep#prepare well before leaving base#its better to walk on foot than fast travel everywhere if you're worried about being ambushed#your skills aren't there just for fun . go hunting go foraging learn how to read and don't underestimate training#treat it a bit like a survival game rather than an arpg#and no there's nothing wrong w the save system#six speaks#kcd#im not gonna be an asshole and say skill issue but. there's a bit of a learning curve especially if you've never played games before#take care of henry and it will pay off#but if all else fails no one has any right to shame you for modding the game to be easier. games should be fun first and foremost#the game is fun and challenging but don't make yourself sick over it if you really can't get it . its ok

I have started Overall's Relaxation Protocol and I really liked this video to show me exactly how it looks before I started. I find this kind of training really difficult because it's boring and I'm impatient and I struggle with environment setups. But anyway, I started last night. It started really badly! I was trying to do all three dogs at once, which absolutely did not work. So I stopped that and took Topaz into the kitchen and did Task Set 1 with just her, which was fine.
I'm not sure if it's going to translate that well because Luca and Marceline were hovering at the babygate the whole time. I am already over it thinking about having to repeat multiple task sets in different parts of the house. My house is small and open plan so it's not easy to separate the dogs. I need to do this though because Topaz needs extra help learning to settle.
#dog training#sigh#I am really not a very good dog trainer#I don't have the commitment or the enthusiasm that other people have#I also don't have the mechanical skills or very good timing#the truth for this blog: I am exceedingly average at dog training#perhaps even poor at it overall#I think that's why I like agility because a lot of it is intuitive movement based stuff#the agility that I find most difficult is the stuff that is more difficult and specific like weaves and contacts

this morning i started writing a thorki au and it has already committed the following sins: modern au; thor & loki not being related; blue-collar thor while loki is posh. but i don't care because the whole concept is stupid and tailored to my very specific demands and there is as ever a good chance i will never make any real progress on it anyway. ha ha. ha haha. so there.
#okay so listen: thor is electrician BUT he is also somehow arthur king of the britons#and i have no yet worked out the mythical/magical elements work into the story really BUT#thor being the magic rightful king is V AWKWARD for loki the current king of the danelaw#(MODERN DANELAW AU YES! HYPERSPECIFIC DEMANDS!)#and so OBVIOUSLY this means they will have to get married to each other to prevent things getting too interesting plotwise.#so here i am attempting to justify my choices in this matter of writing rom-com fic.#i think frigga will love thor because he can fix things. he has a real skill! wow she doesn't know anyone else with such a thing!#probably she breaks things just so she can ask him to fix them for her. which sounds dangerous but who can say no to frigga?#i think my train of thought was 'modern au but they'd have to be from a fictional european country' to 'extra scandinavia?'#eta: and then i thought maybe it could be set in modern vinland because why not?#and from there to 'oh the danelaw!' and then that adds king arthur of course as well as there can be an archbishop of jorvik.#which is sure to charm the anglicans at least.#note to self: check if anglicans read thorki fic.#yes i know there should probably not be a church of england in this world but i am weirdly attached to having an archbishop of jorvik.#because who else can perform the wedding ceremony?#exactly my friend. exactly. this does indeed all make perfect sense.#i have about 1500 words but the worldbuildng in my head is oddly extensive for someone whose usual 'worldbuilding' in fics stops at#'well he has a car and it's some kind of car but i won't specify beyond that because i neither know nor care about cars.'#maybe heimdall can be the archbishop?#fic related#this fic would have the stupidest pun-based title of all time but i have not yet had any inspiration for what that would actually be.#also fun fact: i cannot spell archbishop i keep trying to add an extra vowel.#someone please agree that this is not the worst fic idea.

As an American actor, (though admittedly I only do community theatre for free; a far cry from being a professional film actor) it kind of bothers me that nobody ELSE seems bothered by how many British actors we bring in to play American characters in shows and movies.
Like, i don't have an issue with any of these actors individually, and some of them i even specifically like! But the fact is that there are way more people in the US than the UK, which would logically imply that there are way more actors here, too. of the many show business-adjacent people I've discussed it with, I've only gotten two somewhat-plausible explanations for why we are importing fake Americans.
The first is that maybe casting in the US is more based on appearance/branding/networking/nepotism, whereas in the UK it's more based on actual ability, making it easier to find capable performers. I have no idea how one would even go about investigating this claim, tbh.
The second is that maybe you can pay European actors less?? I'm gonna be real, I don't really get how that would work. Probably the unions would start to be involved?? (I know very little about actors' unions, partly bc there's very little paying work for actors in my town.) But it also seems like the most believable reason this keeps happening so consistently?
(Also my brain is just the reverse of that trope where a kid can't understand math until it's put in terms of money. I'm pretty good with math until it becomes "finances", and then I'm lost.)
And this is just an idea I came up with on my own, but since it seems like there's more support for the arts in general in the EU, maybe it's easier to find good actors there, because actors are struggling less, on the whole?
Many people I've discussed it with have jokingly said, "maybe they're just better actors lol", which i know isn't meant to be taken seriously, but still kind of frustrates me, because acting isn't really that hard!! It's not that difficult to find people who can act passably!
I've been involved in community theatre for, like, seven years? In a city with very little support for the performing arts, and theaters that occasionally operate at a loss. And I've seen a lot of REALLY good acting. And I don't even go to that many shows! Like, stop saying me and my friends can't act! 😠 (I've seen some not-so-great acting, too, don't worry! I think I'm appropriately critical.)
Anyway, sometimes I fantasize about reverse-colonizing Europe, and moving over there to make my career as a professional actor.
#i promise i know the difference between the EU and the UK#i just said both cause i meant both#acting#theatre#theater#my feelings#by elise#most of the time i think leaving my city seems terrifying and like way too much work! much less leaving the country!!#not to mention that I'm currently in a training program for what i think is a pretty us-specific career certification?#not that medical assistant skills aren't transferable. but i think there's a lot that would vary from country to country#a LOT of what I'm learning rn is based on health insurance and federal regulations and whatnot

I think autistic traits would be very common and generally pretty accepted among trains. Tbh they’re usually more just a natural variation than a “condition” for them. It’s just precedent that it’s hard for steam engines to work together vs alone (and if they do they use a very set, unambiguous system of whistle codes). And while it’s definitely not ideal if a diesel or electric engine can’t MU with others, they’re also not useless because of it and railroads tend to be very “waste not want not” places that will find some place for them. Train communication worldwide is usually nonverbal and follows strict rules, be it signals, horn/whistle codes. I think Starlight-style trains especially use a lot of hand based communication and signing, I mean it’s widespread among the cast irl.
Wanting to do the same thing day in and day out is a great thing (trains on heavily automated lines tend to act “more autistic” because of this). Trains in areas with more emphasis on advanced signalling and sensors are probably more prone to the equivalent of sensory issues… though because it’s so ubiquitous in their areas it’s only a problem if they go to the US or something where things come way too close or track conditions are too rough and they shut down.
Weirdly enough, roller coasters are probably the “most autistic” of all trains. They do the same thing day in and day out and have sensors on top of sensors. They will shut down if you touch their restraints the wrong way or if a bee flies in front of an optical sensor or if the wind’s too strong. A lot of “breakdowns” on irl coasters are just sensor faults vs physical issues. It’s kind of funny how on the nose that is when I think about it. Similarly repetitive peoplemover-type trains or other tracked amusement rides are probably up there too for similar reasons, but I don’t think they’re as sensitive.
#vaguely based on how this kind of thing was quietly accepted at the train museum i worked at#they just didn’t question if you had weird social skills#the equivalent of other conditions probably aren’t as accepted among trains but again. Waste not want not. they’ll usually try SOMETHING#to try and remedy or work around it. trains are generally very non-disposible and companies are heavily invested in making them work#i also take inspiration from how some older-school or government heavy industry is kind of that way#It’s really hard to get them to fire you vs try and find something you can do

Super niche, but I just saw someone comment on something saying that they can't comprehend the fact that figure skating qualifies as a sport and as a figure it kind of just ticked me off? Of course the skaters seen on TV are really good at it and they make it look easy but the amount of work that goes into training that isn't seen in competition isn't as pretty as what's shown on the screen. There's a lot of off ice training for cardio and strength in the form of fitness classes and there's also the on ice cardio training which is running program parts in addition to the full run through. AND THEN, so it looks good, there's ballet, and on ice movement, and theatre on ice etc. etc. etc. which makes you THINK it's more of an artform but I've gotten so many bruises from falling that I don't think I can call it art, more like pain. Honestly figure skating is a dangerous sport, there's so many risks that can lead to injuries, I've a couple of friends who have gotten concussed from bad falls and I call myself very fortunate for not having gotten any bad injuries that cause me to take time off (knock on wood) but all of the gross stuff that happens out of the shiny costumes is what gives figure skating the right to call itself a sport.
#Obviously I mean no offence to the person who commented saying that#It's just that this has been sitting on my chest for a while and I needed to get it off#And I don't expect people to know what goes on at the rinks during training when we're not competing#Because it's not like it gets shown in competitions on livestreams and whatnot#But I really believe that figure skating deserves to be a sport#My friends and I actually had a discussion about how we believe it's one of the hardest#because most other sports are scored based off of time or getting an object into a certain target#whereas in figure skating (and gymnastics and probably synchro swimming(?))#it's scored based off of how easy you make it look#the difficulty of the skills which you are doing#how well you execute what you are doing etc.#I don't think you can get points taken off in hockey or in soccer for falling#Do with it what you will#but I'm going to stand by my opinion#also#there is no romance with zamboni guys#most of them are old enough to be our parents or even grandparents#heck one of the arena guys at my rink retired#but then he came out of retirement to return to being an arena guy because he was bored at home or something#figure skating#And#figure skating and ice dancing are the same thing

just finished the second PJO episode
and as the credits started I realized something
THEY DIDN'T EVEN SHOW PERCY BEING GOOD AT CANOEING
#in the book they have basically a training montage#of Percy trying things out to figure out where his skills lie#and thus what his godly parentage might be#and he does a bunch of stuff (of which they show TWO on the show wtf????)#but the only one he's good at is canoeing#which is so fucking funny esp bc Percy's kinda salty about it#look of all my qualms with the second episode#(most of them based around Annabeth and Clarisse's characterizations)#this is the most minor but in a way the most frustrating#it was so funny in the book and such an easy thing to include and it wasn't????#(also Mr. D would NOT say that. and by that I mean his speech at the end of the episode)#speechie watches PJO#speecher speaks

in the chapter where ichiro and kuukou meet for the first time and duke it out, kuukou is initially overwhelmed by ichiro’s strength, but upon the rematch, kuukou had clearly memorised ichiro’s moveset in that brief skirmish and was able to tie with ichiro at the end so i believe kuukou’s got a bit of a tactical brain to back up his strength as well—
#this is vee speaking#sometimes i take the hypmic characters and treat them like action shounen characters lmao#less who would win if they fought (i’m not that dudebro fan enough lol) but i do think about where their battle prowess lies#like i think the top three strongest characters are rio rei and ichiro in terms of power output!!!!!#rio rei and jakurai are the most tactical!!!!! rio jakurai and juto are the most trained!!!!!#samatoki ichiro and kuukou’s street fighting skills are unmatched!!!!!! that kind of thing lol#i wish i was better brained at skill set stuff because i’d love to lose hours of my life sticking together teams based on abilities lol#like mixed up teams are neat to look at based on what abilities they’re working with#team ichiro might be a little cracked lol with ichiro and jyushi having damage dealing moves and rosho’s being an atk stat raiser lol#team samatoki would probably be insane lol like rei is so versatile he can cause the enemy to attack themselves#or trigger an enemy’s ability prematurely to get samatoki’s ability output on max and doppo has the greatest damage output#that kinda thing makes me happy to think about lol i really do wish hypmic had a game like that too lol
