tbh i’m rlly excited for the tripolar fukuchi showdown. you people aren't real sskk believers i think they can clutch it without chuuya/dazai/verlaine/whichever overpowered character stepping in to carry the fight

#like it's their time to shine! finally!#i keep seeing people say they're done for and every time i go BOOOOOO🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅#come on guys. it's not the first skill life-form they've beaten. or even the second 😭 atsushi is tailored to defeat these things #++ whenever sskk lose it tends to be the result of self-doubt/infighting rather than physical weakness. their abilities are absurdly strong #they only lost the first fukuchi fight because a) they didn't know about the time sword #and b) because akutagawa trusted in atsushi more than atsushi trusted him #i think it's pretty clear that the purpose of that fight narratively was to strengthen their partnership rather than to actually win #and akutagawa definitely proved himself to atsushi by dying for him. and by keeping his promise even after dying #so lack of trust certainly won't be an issue anymore. they can reach their full potential now #and if i'm right about akutagawa drinking atsushi's blood and inheriting some of the tiger's ability........... goodbye old man #anyway. tl;dr i believe in my glorious kings #maybe we'll even get to see their singularity (please🙏)

When I saw Akutagawa choose to save Atsushi over himself – going as far as outsmarting a man who can literally manipulate time and space – my first thought was:

"Well, that would have made for a fine entrance exam, huh?"

Now that I finished watching the anime and I'm reading the manga like my sister drinks water (a lot and constantly), I'm starting to post prompts and AUs about Wind Breaker too.

Anyways, Awakener AU (if you read korean manhwa/novels, you know what I mean) where the monster spawning begun before Sakura's first year.

—Except Sakura awakened just before he left his hometown and was chased away because they thought he was cursed or something.

People awakening and getting abilities were really new and it wasn't quite well spread yet. No one knew what was going on except him— more or less, thanks to what the whole awakening process implies (floating screen and such)—. Not that he could explain it.

Cue Sakura arriving to Furin when monsters are trying to attack the town. Everyone is confused to who this kid is, why this kid is, and from where did he even came.

Turns out he is the student from 1-1 class who hadn't shown up yet.

#i think i added him trauma #i was thinking one of his first skills/unique skill could be shapeshifting into a mighty tiger #like atsushi but with two tails and less mind losing #or something related to sakura trees #poor sakura why did i do that?#imagine monsters attacking the improvised barricade/wall protecting the town #managing to make a gap on it and apoint to attack a little kid #when a black and white tiger falls from the sky and sends them flying with its paw #then. his back in front of the kid. roars loud at them and scares most of them away #proceeds to pick up the kid and drops it with the nearest adult #wind breaker #sakura haruka #awakener sakura au

sometimes I think about Q and their design and skill and how I think I could make an argument for them representing many characters childhoods and how the trauma from when they were kids impacts them as adults.

#bsd #I could also make an argument for how mori is presented as an antagonist in the story #and the complicated relationship the children he abused have with him #it’s similar to how Atsushi can’t figure out how to feel about the director of his orphanage both dying-#and having not been entirely evil. because it’s easier to think that someone who hurt you was evil #rather than a person. and then there’s the cycle of abuse that asagiri explores #how the orphanage director was also abused- how Dazai treats Akutagawa because of how mori treated him #and then how akutagawa treats Kyouka because of how Dazai treated him #how does Q tie into all this?#well- their skill is that people who hurt them go crazy right? they start to murder people #the more people that harm this child- the more cruelty and suffering because of it #during the guild arc Q is screaming ‘you’re hurting me’ over and over #they don’t want to be in pain. but their only defense is to inflict pain upon others #even if it means they remain hurt- someone else is hurt as well #there’s a moment when Q is first introduced #where they get at Atsushi. and then Atsushi attacks the agency because of Q’s skill #Dazai’s reaction to mori letting Q out is anger. the way that he snaps Atsushi out of his guilt #is slapping him in the face. mori let Q out-> Dazai is angry-> Dazai slaps Atsushi #mori->Dazai->Atsushi #and the reason that Atsushi is so guilty and scared is because he doesn’t want to be like the orphanage director said he was #all of it is trauma from how they were treated as children- and Q is a child whose skill is to hurt people when they hurt them

#just read dead apple manga volume 2 and 3 #it’s genuinely such a fun story #love the sskk and kyouka trio. i think they should make a comeback #and i really like the way they all individually struggle with their skills and what they mean to them #also like. i keep forgetting how this story reveals that both fyodor and shibusawa already had an interest in atsushi #when he was in the orphanage #that sure makes a lot more sense now that we know fyodor is basically immortal but still #just how much ominous watching has fyodor been doing the past few years #also obviously i’m obsessed with the skk scenes #the way dazai holds chuuyas cheeks in the flashback??? insane behavior
