As Death herself, Luna has a few maidens who serve as her reapers and warriors. Skylar happens to be her favorite, even though the two of them tend to argue more than the others.

However, that’s fine in Luna’s eyes. She’d rather have the arguing and the challenge than the mindless worshiping. In her eyes, it means that Skylar is doing this because she wants to help people and not because she wants anything to do with her power. Something that Luna respects.

Luna doesn’t respect Skye enough not to keep an eye on her though. And she does a bad enough job — purposely – that she gets caught by the blonde. “Have you been keeping an eye on me?” Skylar asked her, a small knife against Luna’s neck, even though it would do absolutely nothing to Luna and Luna could easily snap the blonde in half if she chose to do so.

“Of course I am. You’re my star, darling. I have to see you in action every once in a while to see just how amazing you really are,” Luna teased, a smirk on her face as her hands went up in surrender. “And you’re still as talented as ever. Flawless technique and all.”

Skylar dropped her knife and moved away from Luna’s body. “What do you want? I know you’re not here just to watch me in action. There’s always something with you, Lu.’

Luna smiled. “Ever so rude. But yes, I need your help. I wasn’t lying about you being my best. I need you to kill someone, but I need you to do it nicely.” She gave an awkward, toothy grin, Skylar rolled her eyes.

“Touch and go, soul breaks free, Reaper shit? Or ‘poison’ nicely, Lu?” Skylar asked.

Luna placed her arm around Skylar’s shoulder, having learned her moves from her Death before her. “Touch and Go. A couple. And well, if they don’t die, The Maker will have the whole operation go tits up, and I know without me you have nothing.”

Skye rolled her eyes. “I already said I’d do it.”

Luna pulled her in, still shoulder hugging her. “Lovely.” Then kissed her cheek. “I’ll guide you.”

“Great…” Skylar sighed, clearly irritated, as Luna gave her yet another cheek kiss.

descending into deadlochposting on main i don't even care. this show is SO GOOD. i think the thing that really stuck with me throughout every episode is how committed it is to not fucking up women, and especially women of color, just to have a Plot Point + for Emotional Resonance!!! every woman on this show gets an ending that feels earned. (and yes that does include margaret carruthers.) there is just so much love woven into this narrative but they still manage to capture the grim miserable reality of patriarchy without EVER reducing a female character we care about to a Murder Victim or having her horrifically brutalized as an ending!!!! like holy shit, guys, it's actually fucking possible! you can create horror blended perfectly with humor and never actually fuck women over!!!

and yeah actually as a woc it felt really fucking good to watch a show where i got to see women of color (aleyna and tammy and sharelle and miranda and faye my beloved <333) just thrive and be silly and stupid and terrible and also lovable. and also, oh my god, revolutionary, NOT GET MURDERED, even though this is literally a fckin murder show!!! i said to my dad like midway through the series that i just got this sense the show understood how goddamn hard it is to watch television sometimes waiting for that character you love, who looks like you and has life experiences that resonate with you, to get killed, or to be treated like she's not important, and how dedicated it is to not just killing off women for shock value. every woman in this show mattered and had meaning and dimension.

because seriously, SO MANY INCREDIBLE WOMEN!!! abby with her perfect little haircut driving off into the sunset saying Of Course She Knows She's Right About Forensics. aleyna and her husband, her whole heart!!!! vanessa who in a lesser show would have been reduced to The Bad Woman, The Bigot, but we are shown how she has been abused and mistreated by men and how that's so informed her perspective + her genuine love for her son! sharelle who lays down the hard truths, who calls them out -- "all this civility but no fucking community" !!! miranda who learns that she doesn't want blood money from a woman who looks down on her cousin! tammy who is literally just all about that footy club the entire time even as men are being murdered and that's honestly so real of her. skye o'dwyer who perfectly captures that Emotionally Unavailable Dad energy except she's a lesbian and i love her. nadiyah who is Trying Her Best :) And Gritting Her Teeth About It :) faye who has no god damn patience for margaret carruthers and all kinds of blunt determined love for her niece and her daughter. vic who throws herself under the bus because she's just so determined to protect anyone she can after the women in this town protected her and kept her secret for so long!!! cath who parents her emotions and is definitely relentless in her guilting but also so relentless in her love. MARGARET CARRUTHERS WHO EXEMPLIFIES SHITTY RICH WHITE WOMAN. and of fucking course, the legends, the buddy-cop duo of all time, dulcie and eddie, who are just perpetually going around like this

im gonna lean into more pakistani names bc that's where I'm from but some of these may overlap bc a lot of Pakistani names are also Muslim names so

@rubyreduji to jj I give the name hamza (hum-zah). I've always liked this name it sounds very elegant strong, which fits bc it means strong and steadfast. honestly one of the best boy names in my book lol

@toruro ok mika gives me ammarah (AM-ma-rah) vibes, again this is a name ive always really liked it sounds very regal and sophisticated and something i rlly wanted to be named lol but it means strong faithed but it can mean different things based on pronunciation!!

@glowunderthemoon ok for faye im gonna give her noor-ul-ain (nur-ul-ayen) or (nur-ul-en). its also just noor for short! another very pretty name and a lot of its beauty lies in the meaning, it means light of the eye (noor=light) which really just explains itself lol

@etherealyoungk SKYE GETS zunairah (zun-e-rah), ok this name just reeks of power?? almost?? it sounds like a very strong name to me which is the opposite of what it means, it means flower which basically insinuates that skye is a pretty lil flower but shes also lowk a badass so

@ressonancee Thea and I have only recently started talking but i think i have her name down. i give her hiba (hib-ba) which, very fittingly, means gift. with the way she helped with my cheol fic and basically birthed the idea of hockeyplayer!cheol i think this name truly is for her. also she writes amazing so shes a gift to caratblr in general ksjgnrj

@fairyhaos ok to yena i give the name zayna (zaj-na) which means beauty and grace! the name and the meaning work together really well bc just the sound of the name is very pretty and that's also what it means. also with the half face reveals i have seen of hers she VERY MUCH fits this name so lol

@sluttywoozi Emily and I havent talked much but I'm gonna assign her a name anyway lol. to emily i give alizeh (uh-LEE-ze)which means wind or breeze. another name i LOVE so much its such a hot girl name and i think it fits em very well

@highvern ok cam and i havent interacted much either (hello text me pls) but I'm going to give her gul bano (gul-bah-noh). It means princess of flowers but don't let the meaning fool you, every gul bano I've met is some of the strongest, liveliest women i have ever seen. cam is very fun, super witty and just a joy to see in my notifs so ya there's that hehe

Tonya has a huge point. 

Because while Dia’s going on a tangent in her head, Tonya is shooting those weird bullets at her that can wound her for a long time. And, uhm, well: Dia gets shot on the shoulder and it hurts like a bitch.

It doesn’t make her angry though, it makes her laugh. Like she can’t help but to laugh. And it’s not just a regular or small laugh, it’s a loud and happy laugh – one she shouldn’t be doing after getting shot by something that can actually kill her for real, instead of for a short amount of time. 

“Charming!” Cloud calls out, while the sniper stays on the other line of her burner phone. “Next time make a better shot though. You’re more attractive when you actually hit me where it hurts.”

Tonya’s chuckle can be heard. “I don’t care about being attractive. I care about killing you.” 

Dia’s laughter stops. “Then why aren’t I dead yet?”

Before Dia can add anything else, a bullet is shot in her direction and Dia has to dodge it. Her phone then vibrates -- a text.

Where’s the fun in that…

The text says, and Dia laughs again, “Love her, I do….Hate her, too. But…you know?” She sighs, when a bullet darts past her, and then she decides to get away from Tonya by running away. She’s had enough fun for today. She needs to patch herself up. Cause, again, whatever Tonya’s using can and will actually kill her…someday.
