TotK DLC idea!
The screen is black. You don’t hear anything for a long time. Then, faintly, in the distance, you can hear it.
Link. Link. Open your eyes.
While the line echoes familiarity, the voice does not.
Or. Well. It does. Because while it isn’t Zelda, it’s a familiar man’s voice speaking gently, so gently you almost don’t recognize it because there’s no way he ever spoke like this in the main game.
But he is now. And instead of a golden light being the first image you see before the screen shows Link awakening… you see gloom floating in the air. The image cuts to a Hylian waking up who… doesn’t look like Link from TotK?? He’s different, still small in stature, with slightly tanner skin, platinum light blonde hair, and red eyes. But… something’s wrong with his forehead. There’s a weird line on it.
This new character you apparently are gonna be playing in the DLC blearily blinks his eyes open, clearly groggy and too weak to really move. But then that line on his forehead moves a hair, it splits apart, and you realize it’s a freaking eye, red and yellow and it’s like the ones on gloom hands and oh gosh what the hell is it doing on his forehead—
Link realizes something is off and his eyes blow wide, his hands reach for his forehead and he screams in agony and terror, only for someone to scoop him into a hug to soothe him.
And suddenly you realize why that voice was eerily familiar.
It’s Ganondorf. He resurrected you from the era of the Imprisoning War. You, who have a history with him and his family. You, who he wants to protect, who he views as his kid, who he calls a prince and says he’ll keep you safe by controlling your body with his dark magic if he has to.
Welcome to Tears of the Kingdom: Hero’s Shadow.
You have to play a long gone Hero who was resurrected. Ganondorf, who is still recovering his strength in preparation for killing the current Hero, tasks you with finding your betrothed, his daughter, as well as his wife. They’re buried somewhere in the Depths like you were. He wants you to find their burial sites so he can use his secret stone to resurrect them like he did you, and control them as well. Which is doubly bad when you realize his wife was the original Sage of Lightning. He gives you free reign to wander once you go through a tutorial (he tests you to see if you’ve recovered enough strength), because he knows you love wandering and collecting things. Your own personal objective, however, is trying to help Hyrule from the Depths, to break free from Ganondorf’s control, because Link would rather set himself on fire than let Ganondorf resurrect and control the love of his life and his mother-in-law. Your best hope is to find shards of the shattered Master Sword to try and stab the eye on Dark Link’s forehead and break the control Ganondorf has on you. Until you can, though, the monsters are your allies, you can teleport across the Depths by manifesting out of the gloom created by gloom hands (just like what Phantom Ganon does), and the world below is your oyster. If you get too close to sword shards when gloom hands are nearby, Ganondorf can see your attempt and immediately takes control of your body, and no matter what button you press Link just walks back to Ganondorf’s location and stays there until you get a chance to try again.
You start with three hearts, all empty looking like when gloom hurts you, and if you get injured they just shatter. Whenever they all shatter, you respawn at Ganondorf’s location because his gloom hands came and rescued you from dying. The only way you can get more hearts is by collecting poes and offering them to the statues in the Depths. You can communicate with the spirits of soldiers, who may give you combat tips or info about the area. If you gain enough of Ganondorf’s trust, he’ll let you command monsters, and he might even let you wander the Surface (under his supervision) during a blood moon.
You learn of Link’s and Ganondorf’s history through discovering ancient relics/texts that trigger memories. This connection between you and Ganondorf stems back to time before the war, well over ten thousand years ago. Link was engaged to Ganondorf’s daughter, but during the Imprisoning War the family fought against the demon king. Ganondorf did love his family, but he loved power more. Link sacrificed himself, letting himself get mortally wounded to save Rauru from a killing blow. Gan held him as he died, and it allowed Link to both beg him to stop and stab him in the heart with a light shard. The shard didn’t kill him, but it was what Rauru connected with when he hit him in the chest, allowing him to seal Ganondorf away. Ganondorf still wants the world, but his love for his family is still present, though now twisted, so he thinks he can control Link and everyone else with his dark magic in order to keep them safe and in line. Once the threat of the current Hero is eliminated, the world will be his, and his family will be safe. As such, he treats you, Link, the player, like a stubborn child, reeling you in, but does so in a horrific way, torturing Link by controlling him.
You have to break free of this and stop him, and the only hope you have is the distant call of a sword spirit…

swashbuckle and islands
Tumblr media
a/n : this boy will be the death of me i love him so much. excuse my horrible grammar. my fav gif, and has nothing to do with the story lol but enjoyyy
genre : angst + fluff
pairing : readerxjeno & readerxmark
word count : 2.6k
okay,
okie, be ready for this mess
and excuse any non spaced words my space bar isn’t working properly
cool so your from an island
which imma call Skye bc i can
now your mum is originally from Skye, and had like second cousins of a cousin or whatever to throne but she married you father who was from the mainland
which is a big no no but at the time she didn’t care bc she was so in love
skip forward a couple of years and the father is a complete ass
doesn’t work or really do much except order your mum around
anyone who has a wonderful father or really good parents im sorry don’t attack me this is for the story
:)
so, mum has had you and your older brother, whom your brother continues to admire your father bc he really just wants love and is hella lost in this mess of a world
Moving on
you used to have a really good relationship with your father until he changed.
cheated on your mother, and would blame it on you mum
in response you really just tried to help you mum get through this mess
big big mess
your brother, at the beginning helped and tried to calm your father
boy kinda gave up, hela understandable
and left to the mainland to study medicine
wooot go him
but you were devastated because you were now alone
now bc your brother has left your father has really worsened and blocks your freedom more and more
The point where you were literally only allowed to like go to school, work in the fields and be a servant
sksksk
now remember how your mum was like the second cousin or smth to the royal crown?
Twas was importanttt
that managed to get you a study abroad year in london,
queue your best friend mark entering
this boy showed you what freedom was and felt like for the first time since your father went off rails
iss been like a good 13 years and you're like 16 ??
I digress
mark literally made you feel more yourself because of his natural outgoing and easy behavior
It really was pretty amazing
And then the hiding and going out late at night was over
It was back to no friends, working at the field
sad life tbh
I must note, that because mark lived in canada bc why tf not
y’all couldn’t really communicate
this is set when pirates where a thing, think of pirates of the caribbean
I love those movies
okie, progress two years
of you thanks to you mum’s second cousin related human lol
you became friends with the cousins friends daughter
y’all really had known each other since they were smol
but hadn’t really been friends, bc the girl was pretty quite and a beaut
even her own father treated her better than she treated her own daughter
smh, ik this is a cliche live with it
but overall she was a really good person and kinda managed to sneak you around the island when you weren't on “duty” for your father
though its not that you didn’t like working in the fields bc you loved helping out with the animals and occasionally give food to those who were less fortunate than you and really couldn’t afford it
being a trooper, that you are you often told your friend idk wanna give her a name so y’all could come up with one if it were up to me it would be lilith about what you would see around the island and how the country was pretty not doing a okay
she would listen and talk about her own problems and how she wished she could travel and paint everything
Bonding over traveling yep yeo
one day, you were supposed to work in the fields as you tend to have to do to the cows, and sheep and horses, while picking up the apples? from the trees ??
Idk i don’t farm
either wayyyy
you had finished your tasks early, and had struggled, and i mean stRuGgLed to get away from your father
he was in one of his moods today, shouting at everyone and refusing to admit he needed help
it was a constant reminder of every bad thing every failure that could happen in your life every thing you didn’t want for yourself or your mum who had slowly been getting sick and y’all had some money that could have helped her but your father thought that she deserved the illness
and i quote he said “everything happens for a reason child, if your mother had treated me and had been a good person this wouldn’t have happened to her, but alas some people deserve what they get”
skskskks
he continued to say how “i on the other hand, have been a good man all my life, have always helped others so i don’t get sick”
this man i swear to god this has actually happened help
being very much done with your father who you really wished would just disappear and leave you and your mom who no longer lived with you but now lived with lilith to be
you had thought of running away for a very long time, though never knew how to get off the island it seemed impossible
sure you knew how to fight, somewhat by watching the guards and the little training mark you had taught your two years ago.
missing mark hours but it wouldn’t compare to the guards of the royals who would never aid you
and even if they had, you had never learned how to sail which was ironic as the island you lived in wasn’t very large. Your only method of transportation has been your legs and your families faithful horse lethian ?? who really was your favorite out of all the animals
running away from the trapped life had always felt like a dream, one that you had lived for for the small year in london with mark
you thought about running away again, the idea of sneaking into a trading boat slowly forming in your mind
you could take her your mum and lilith and travel the world go to london again and paris and canada and re-unite with the friend you missed the most
a smile had formed on your previous grim face, the dream something you held onto until your eyes opened and smoke covered the sky
a ringing began in your ears and you tried to stop it, your hands covering your ears in an attempt to stop the noise but the ringing only got stronger
the sky was black, shots were heard were the village people yelled in panic
you looked out towards the sea and could see the outline of a ship
a very large ship
oh shit
a pirate ship
the flag blew proudly in the boat and from where you stood the bone white skull that contrasted against the black around it was made visible everytime the wind blew
you gasped, everything anyone had told you about pirates were that they weren’t to be trusted
they were ruthless and would do nothing to stop from getting what they wanted
the stories you'd heard all came to the same conclusion you see the flag you run in the other direction
you pace quickened and in small time you were running towards the blazing village now up in smokes fire and fog covering the bakery, and fields
the school that had taught you the basics of reading and writing until girls weren’t allowed to attend was a blaze royal guards their black and purple uniforms waved their hands around and pointed their too heavy too unbalanced swords not being of much use
mom
she should be safe
safe with lilith you thought, looking back towards were the small castle stood its bold flag still flying proudly in the grey and black sky
safe , shes safe you keep telling yourself a constant buzz that you repeated over and over to yourself in order to continue moving towards the castle walls
you only lasted a solid five minutes before the guards were holding the civilians back
you sighed angry these idiots being more preoccupied with holding back the citizens who were trying to get to safety behind the castle walls than actually dealing with the threat at hand
who hired them really??
being the stubborn human you are you decided to head towards the back entrance as yuo saw a flash of blonde hair headin towards the back gate of the castle
oh no was your immediate thought their gonna get to lilith and mum
all the guards had been directed out of castle except a few that had stayed inside to keep the royal fam safe the infirmary had been left unguarded
you looked around trying to look for a familiar face, a familiar guard who youd seen at a practice lilith had dragged you too she had said it was too “admire suitors” you had shaken your head and laughed
you had no interest in tying yourself to a man that would treat you like something to throw around but you let her revel in her fantasies
no familiar face was found so you turned and ran towards the blonde head you had seen walk towards the back entrance grabbing a sword from one of the dead guards
your cursed the clothes women were given making it impossible to run in impossible to fight in
the blonde boy turned around at your approach, he was young you noticed
probably your age, his grin was deviant and his eyes were mocking as she approached
“please” you tried “don’t hurt hurt anyone else”
the boy looked at you with a puzzled look at laughed, slashing away at the thorns and vines that encircled the back door to the castle as he found the lock and tried to break it open
you got closer, looking at the broken glass bottles that littered the floor and torches that lit up the fogged street
the boy was too busy with the look to realize the girl that had come behind him and hit him in the back of the head with the swords dull pommel the boy let put a yelp before collapsing at your feet
your small victory lasted a small time and before you noticed the boy you had tied with the thorns and vines from the door, which continued to be locked
your mum and lilith as far as you knew safe
began to stir and as his eyes opened another boy appeared at the end of the alley
his hair seemed to be part of the night sky, falling over his dark eyes.
“mark!” the black haired boy cried, his hand at his scimitar pointed directed towards you his other hand had managed to slip a dagger out of god knows where and sliced mark’s binds
mark the name sent a shock through you and you took a closer look at the young boy whose eyes were now wide open no anger shown
but instead amusement and the joyous spark you had once known
he looked so different
the black haired boy still had a sword at your throat and you swallowed briefly
“mark?” you gasped feeling the tip of the sword against your neck a small movement and it would nick your skin, blood would swell
‘Mark’ looked at you again and laughed,
the black haired boy looked confused “let her go jeno”
jeno was like ‘excuse me ? she knocked you unconscious no i'm not doing that’ he didn't say it but mark understood and laughed again this time it was more mischievous a feral grin adorned his features
“let her go, she’s coming with us” jeno and you were both like huh? has this boy gone mad?
probably letss be realll
“umm no im not” you snapped at the boy you once knew, you glared at jeno who had regrettably removed his sword away from your neck but had placed the dagger threateningly close to your back ashe forced you to move along
you didn’t get an answer from mark who still seemed very entertained by the whole situation
he had changed so much since you’d last seen him *sigh*
you three walked back towards the village and you hadn’t realized how the screams of pain and fear were no longer heard
more than a few guards littered the floors and you tried not to gasp as jeno forcefully continued to move you towards the sea its waters black
the walk to the pirate boat seemed to last ages, the sun had begun to set in the sky casting dark purple and red shadows above the black water that didn’t reflect any light. It broke your heart to see the usually clear water be black, the animals that lived in the waters probably struggling to survive.
when you finally arrived, the panic began to settle in again. you didn’t know if your mum and lilith were safe, you didn’t know what would happen and the boy you knew two years ago had changed so much that you could no longer read what he was thinking
the ship loomed in front of you, you hear the small buzz of chatter from the ship and laughter
why was there laughter in such a horrible place ??
“Come on” mark said, already walking getting onto the ship, not looking back at the mess they had left behind
You no longer felt the sharp prick of a dagger or sword at your back, but instead it had been replaced by a strong hand guiding you towards the ship
the contact startled you, and you straightened and continued to walk forward the ship only a few feet away, you still held onto the rock that you had hit mark with, your sword taken away by jeno
you forced your feet to stop moving, because one more step and you’d be on the pirate’s boat, and ducked, and made a weak attempt at attacking the black haired boy behind you hitting him with the small rock you had on the leg
you begin to move away from the boat. The victory lasted a solid second before jeno had his arms around you, pinning your hands behind your back. No longer smiling, or understanding in his dark eyes. you glared at him and then at mark who had finally turned around, a sort of sadness passed over his features before he spoke
“you can’t run away y/n” he said calmly. “remember in london? when you dream about running away, leaving this island and  exploring the world? away from your father?”
his words shocked you, but you didn’t want to leave your mum she had no one else
“i can’t just leave mark !! my mum, she’s still there and i can’t just leave her with father” a look of recognition and understanding flitted through jeno’s face and reflected in mark
“i know, i know but if you stay here and go back” the boy shook his head, the dark of the night making his blonde hair a dull light in the fog,
you knew, that in many ways he was right. if you did go back the villagers had seen you with the pirates, being taken by them as the village had burned down and you weren't scared. the worst scenario would be that if you did go back they would imprison you, ask you for information
hurt mum, hurt lilith even is she was part of the royals
you felt the tears well up in your eyes, and refused to let them fall
“we aren’t all that bad” peeped jeno’s voice who had softened again, until you looked at him and his gaze hardened
you forced yourself a small smile, and placed your foot on the board of the boat
“Let’s go swashbucklers” you said,
after all, the stories you’d heard had come from your father, and all his stories were a lie.
a/n : i hope y’all enjoyed that. ik there wasn't much jeno lol but i’m planning on king this a series if you want? send me an ask, if you do! either way,
peace out luvs,
stay safe

So last week me and my boyfriend Skye travelled to North Wales for 4 days for our one year anniversary. We vlogged it too, which we weren’t really expecting but we thought we’d share the footage we got! And hopefully there will be lots more vlogging to come in the future. Check out the first vlog here!
So we arrived at our first Airbnb late on Sunday night because Skye had been working. We were originally going to book with hotels because we’d never used Airbnb before but we looked and it is so much cheaper! The first house we stayed in was in Abergele, and it was just a house that the host didn’t actually live in, just rented it out to people. There was another guy staying there in the downstairs room called Keith and we had the upstairs one. We shared the bathroom and kitchen with him but he worked all the time so we actually hardly saw him. We had no problem sharing with anyone either, we were out most of the day too! Click here to have a look at the first property we stayed in! It was only £17 per night and we stayed for two, so with that and the service charges and cleaning it only came to £45.80 for us both! When we were looking at hotels, some would’ve cost us way over that for just one night! It was also so accommodating, and has every extra thing you would need!
We got to bed early and although I didn’t have a great nights sleep because I wasn’t well we got up at 10 to go and explore. We drove down to Betws-y-coed which is about 45 minutes from Abergele. It’s such a beautiful little town, so we parked up and checked out some of it’s waterfalls.
Then we drove the short distant to Swallow Falls and paid the small price of £1 to get through. It was so pretty, and we stood and just watched them for ages. It’s not really suitable for anyone in a wheelchair though because there’s stairs to get right down to the falls but you can stay further up at the top and see them down below.
Then we went across the road to the little cafe and had a nice sandwich before driving to Zip World near Betws-y-coed to see what was there we could do. We forgot it was the summer holidays though so it was very busy already. I would suggest booking in advance if you wanted to do any of their activities. They have a treetop adventure for children which has nets for safety and a bigger one for adults without the nets. Then there for the Fforest Coaster which is what we went on but the closest time they could give us was 5pm. So we booked it anyways, £20 each, which ended being the most expensive thing we did the whole trip, we were trying to do it on a budget.
In the meantime we went on a drive and ended up in Caernarfon and we got some snacks and medicine for me. We drove through the mountains though and even though it was raining, it was still beautiful! So we drove back just in time to go on our rollercoaster.
We had 3 goes and had to queue up each time. The first queue was huge because the weather was so bad so they had to leave a bigger gap in between the coasters so we didn’t crash into each other. It died down though each turn because people had gotten through all their turns. We also made friends with a lovely couple and their children who were travelling in a camper van all around Wales, so they gave us some great tips and the time flew by! The coasters were quite scary actually, me and Skye got in one, which we’d only seen kids and their parents do, not two adults. You do have a seatbelt though which is pretty reassuring. You have to go way up into the trees which actually takes a few minutes because you go so high up. I’m glad I went on with Skye because I’d be bored if not! Then the person at the back actually has to control the brakes, good job it wasn’t me, I’d have been useless! It tells you when to break and even if you don’t it does it automatically for you so there’s no danger there. And it actually goes pretty fast! We did really enjoy it though and thought it was well worth the money!
Then we did the hours drive home and stopped off at a chinese to get some tea. It wasn’t too bad, even though it didn’t have the best reviews. Then we chilled, and filmed a little bit extra for the vlog which you can find here, where we ask each other questions to see how well we know each other. Then we just showered and got to bed so I could try and have a better nights sleep.
You can check out the vlog for the first day again here!! Hope you enjoyed it and subscribe to my channel for vlogs from the rest of our trip!
  Stay Happy
Sarah

I hope to use my career story as instructional materials to inspire someone here tonight.
Like I normally will just summarize Simply put:
Stella Adu is my name. I am fondly called Prolific Stella: I am a serial entrepreneur, training coordinator, a skill acquisition trainer(I help youth 13-36 & stay-at-home women acquire entrepreneurial skills to startup their business through my skill acquisition training) and a social media crusader 😀 about.me/stellaadu
Hobbies/Skills: I am passionate about helping people achieve success 💪🏻 I love traveling, helping (charity) volunteering, gisting, teaching and cooking. Most importantly, I love being a women. lol💃
Tonight, we will be looking at Skill Acquisition, important and the effect on the economy of the nation…
By means of Introduction, I will start with Bishop David Oyedepo quote; he said “No purpose has a future without a skill!” The truth is the importance of skills acquisition in Nigeria cannot be overemphasized. And for Nigeria to be economically self-reliant, we must necessarily diversify our economy and as well encourage the youth to embrace self-employment through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, etc #BeSkillful
I will like us to read this analysis I posted on my blog this Monday so we can prepare our heart for this session well
#PromotionTuesday #StraightTalk
*Why Skill Acquisition?*
~Before you answer the above answer this: How Secure is your “secure job”? Take it or leave it there is no job security anywhere! The only secure job is the skill you have in your hands ❗️💪🏻 Carefully read these, I am sure you are aware… Months ago Dangote laid off 47 expatriates and other 157 junior staffs some months ago… MTN sacked 4,000 workers without notice in one day! These guys came to work just last Friday September 30th, 2016 and were told it was all over without prior notice. A close source to MTN has already indicated that the salaries of the remaining staff of the company has been slash by 50%. Are you still in doubt that there is no job security?! Again, From the beginning of this year from Zenith bank sacked 1,200 staff, Access bank sacked 800 staff, Skye Bank sacked 400 staff, Unity Bank sacked 320 staff, Construction industry sacked 60,000 workers, La Casera weeded out 1,300 workers, Promacidor laid off over 600 just December 2017 just because they have acquire a sophisticated machine that can do the work of 50 people in one hour…! The end does not seem to be near for retrenchment syndrome and this is just a tip of what could be captured in this booklet… Companies are closing down; others are downsizing so as to survive. The Nigerian statistic office announced that over 500,000 Nigerians lost their jobs in the first eight months of 2016 and still counting… That is just what they can track from the number of companies that were closed down and others that downsized in the formal sectors. *** No, don’t wait for things to get worst before you act, you can create an additional income and stay above the waters by acquiring a skill from Prolific Stella Initiative a subsidiary of Prolific Global Concepts: “Our mission is to rescue…from unemployment!” Click here for more info about our skill acquisition: http://bit.ly/ProlificStellaSKillAcquisitionProgram Lying on one side of the bed and expecting a change is like killing a scorpion with your bare hands, you might get stung. 😩 Someone has said: “The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over again and expect a different result.” ~ You may say but doing business or investment is risky, that’s true however, it is a greater risk not to start anything! 😁😳 The truth is: I have seen poor people that have never lost money but haven’t seen a rich man that has never lost money. I hate to see people struggle to feed family…because I have being there: it’s really frustrating- I can tell you that! 💁 I have been doing my part and God is helping me. Now is your turn to take responsibility…! The greatest investment you can ever do in the one you invest in becoming a better person… Prolific Stella says, Skill acquisition is the new oil well that will never go dry! Acquire a skill! #BeSkillful 🔨 @prolificstella (It worthy the time…just pardon me🙏🏻) Again, I wrote this some weeks ago…
#MondayMotivation
“I wished I learnt carpentry while growing up”~ Prof. Yemi Osinbajo
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has advised children currently on the holiday to learn something new outside academics.
Speaking in Lagos on the sidelines of 60th birthday thanksgiving service of Salami Ololade, a pastor, Osinbajo imbued “It’s important for children to learn something that could have an impact on their lives and communities in new fields…I wished that when I was growing up I learned even carpentry!” 😁
It’s a known fact that the skill acquisition is the new oil well that everyone needs to dive into; especially the young ones to secure their future as there is no secure job anywhere!
However, it’s not too late for anyone to acquire a skill that will make you a self-reliant individual…
Remember: The best investment you can do is in yourself first, then to others and the communities. @prolificstella
Now to the session proper:
A skill can be defined as the ability to do something well, usually gained through training or experience.
Skill acquisition on the other hand involves the development of a new skill, practice or a way of doing things, usually gained through training or experience. #BeSkillful 🔨
I need you to know that no skill is irrelevant as other may think… You like to know that Prolific Stella has more than 20 Skills she possesses! 😳 #BeSkillful🔨
It’s not to say that you should…mine is because I am basically a skill Acquistion trainer (that’s a niche…) I do not mean to intimate anyone but the reason why a lot people are enslaved in their work place is simply because they are not skilled! Take it or leave it 👌 Even if you are a job seeker or you are on a job, make up your mind to be indispensable by acquiring skills that will make you indispensable!🔨 Most graduate can’t even use google document and you are looking for job! Hmmm #BeSkillful ✔️ Someone asked me yesterday that if skill acquisition is for the purpose of being rich… Hmmm
In summary I told him…it is first to better yourself…to make you a better version of yourself, to be a value added entity
Why Skill Acquisition
1) Self-employment: A skill acquired man is a self-employed man. The piece you are reading right now is written as a result of the skill acquired by the writer. There are so many self-employed writers today who do not border themselves of carrying files from one office to another in search of job. Their duty is freelance writing and they make great money from their writing. In the same vein, many successful businessmen and woman whose names are heard in many parts of the world are self-employed. A self employed person can never go hungry because the skill he acquired provides food for him on daily basis. But one who lacks skill acquisition will find it difficult to be self employed because he has nothing to offer. #BeSkillful 🔨
So even writing is a good skill you can trade with and even start training others on
2) Different job opportunities:
Have you ever seen someone who acquires many skills…?! Such person is classified as someone who is up and doing. 👌🏃🏻 Those who have many skills stand the chance of gaining job from many establishments.
Frankly speaking, people who have many skills are being searched by many companies. Company A, B, and C stand in a queue fighting over one person. They are searched for because they can do many functions due to the series of skills possessed. #BeSkillful🔨
I remembered when I was working in a digital marketing company, I was the a) Head,Media b) Head, market c) PA to the MD d) Producer of the company’s radio show on City FM so the company sees me as resourceful…
When you are skilled, you become indispensable! #BeSkillful 🔨
Even though there is non that is indispensable…the truth is there is none to match with the level of the results you will be commanding! That’s what it simply means !👌#BeSkillful 🔨
3) Employment generation:
Governments are still finding it difficult to provide jobs for the citizens because the citizens are lacking important SKILLS they need to take up the job! 💪
There will be a lot of jobs generated for the citizens of every country if the citizens are well equipped with skills.
This is why it is necessary for government to organize skill acquisition programme for the masses as this will go a long way in providing jobs for others. #BeSkillful 🔨
For example: Someone who is well equipped on electronics repair can train his fellow citizens. When these citizens ‘mature’ in such field, they start earning from the skill they acquired from their master. This is how the newly trained in that field will train other persons, and employment generation keeps on growing in such circle.
Likewise those who have good skills in businesses, they make good money on their businesses and generate employment for others by employing other to assist him in his business. If you really want to see the change you desire to see in Nigeria, you need to acquire a skill, create jobs and help reduce the rate of unemployment in the country. #BeSkillful🔨 In other words, skill acquisition is also taking responsibility…✅
4) Effective function: I need you to know that even organization don’t want to employ a liability to the company. They are trying to safe cost thereby, seeking employees that have skills that will add value to the company in no little way!
So if you are the type that love paid jobs and you are not building capacity to improve your skill level…you might be out of job very soon! That’s the truth. Sorry if I am being hash
Companies are now looking for people that can do the work of two or more people… #BeSkillful
Organizations that employ skilful workers to assist in their organizational duties lose nothing at all because there will be always effective functions performed by the employee.
This is because the employee has acquired necessary skills needed for him to perform the work as desired by the organization.
The knowledge he gained from the training on that specific job makes him to do the organization’s works as desired by the management of the organization. #BeSkillful 🔨 You need to know that SKILL is what sells in the market place not certificates! 😳 YES
If you are not a value added individual no one will recommend you for any job! #BeSkillful🔨
Please note: There is much difference between studying a particular course in the university or college and going for training on that course the person studied.
Training on that course gives the fellow an insight on how to pilot the function whenever he is called. With skill acquisition combined with the education attainted by a person, effective function is offered to the company he works or is going to work with. #BeSkillful 🔨
5) Crime reduction: Skill acquisition reduces the crime rate in many nations. People begin to think on many dirty activities they will do to make money when they do not have anything to call job of their own. But, with acquired skill by an individual, he works and makes money from his acquired skill. This will make him to feel comfortable in life and do not disturb his or herself life in any way. #BeSkillful🔨
In conclusion, Skill acquisition is personal responsibility, it will take sacrifice: time, money, energy, etc.
Like I always say, the best investment you can ever do is in yourself! Invest in becoming a better version of you! The bottomline is develop capacity on the area of your interest and you will be sort after! #BeSkillful 🔨

Acquiring a skill has nothing to do with being rich but being a better person…, being a blessing to yourself first and to others. It’s adding value to yourself

Medieval squares all dressed in fairy lights, mulled wine and entertaining dogs… it can only mean one thing, Christmas in Europe. Ever dreamed of visiting the Christmas markets in Germany? David Bruce, our guest blogger in this week’s You’ve Been Where, did just that – squeezing in the highlights of the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France along the way! We’re just a tiny bit jealous…!
Who are you and what do you do for a living?
My name is David Bruce. I work at a national research centre for natural hazards doing the communications, media liaison, public affairs, etc.
Guest blogger David with his wife Alison.
Where is home?
Home is Melbourne, in what lazy journalists call the “leafy” suburb of Mitcham.
Where have you been? When did you go?
We spent three weeks in Europe – Italy, Switzerland, Germany and France, and three weeks in the United Kingdom – England and Scotland – which included Christmas and New Year.
Who did you travel with?
I travelled with my wife and 19-year-old son, and we met up with my 25 year-old daughter and her boyfriend for the UK leg. My kids are now at an age of being fun and helpful rather than just fun and wanting stuff.
What were the highlights of your trip?
We have been back a couple of months now and we are still debating this question. Nothing was bad, all was good. But what was best? We deliberately planned the trip around the landmarks – Colosseum, Vatican, Uffizi, Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Edinburgh Castle, Tower of London, British Museum, the Cotswolds. And they were all genuine highlights. But some of the lesser landmarks were just as memorable.  It snowed on us as we drove through Glencoe in Western Scotland. Skye was insanely beautiful with photos at every turn of the road. Traveling at Christmas time meant so many places were all dressed up. And all that Christmas cheer suddenly made sense; speaking as Aussies more familiar with the heat of summer. The roaring fires, the Christmas sweaters, the scarves, hats, the lights, the nightmarkets. Ah, the nightmarkets! In medieval squares all across the continent we drank hot mulled wine under lights in zero degrees. All these were highlights.
What did you least like about your trip?
The shorter days in a European winter are a bit of a shock. It doesn’t get light until after 9am. And darkness hits at 3.30pm! It means you must plan the driving and sightseeing pretty tightly. But the payoff is some things actually do look nicer at nighttime. And again, especially at Christmas. Even the most ordinary streets looked spectacular with Christmas lights.  Big cities, little villages, town squares, streets, highways, malls and transport hubs. They were all lit up from late afternoon, and not just from after 9pm as in Australia.
All you need is love! Carnaby St, London
The Christmas lights in Freiburg Germany.
Pretty as a picture, Portree, Skye
Do you have any funny stories from your travels?
Travelling with young children can be tough, but with older children they can become surprisingly useful at the most opportune time.
At the railway station in Freiburg Germany I attempt my phrase-book Deutsche on the ticket man and get a flat hand waved in my face. My son pushes me to the side with a “Dad, let me” and embarks on what must certainly be for the first time in his life a most productive real life conversation in fluent post-VCE German.
When Storm Barbara unleashed on the west coast of England I had been driving down the safer middle lane on the M6 in torrential rain. I hoped the horizontal wind pulsating the hire car was doing it in the exactly same beat to the lorries in lanes one and three. After four hours of this I had had enough. Time to hand the wheel over to the next generation. I sat in the back seat and enjoyed the view while daughter and boyfriend did a superb navigator/driver combo deep into the awful night.
What were the locals like?
Sometimes you felt so welcome you could almost pretend you were a local. On the advice of Trip Advisor, we walked into a tiny (four tables?) restaurant in Paris where the one-man waiter/cook/barman and his trusty brown labrador/door greeter/entertainer served up a meal personalised for each of us. Just like home. Except no one else spoke English.
What was the food like?
I think the whole trip was about sightseeing matched with food. Every day seemed structured around where to eat, what to eat, and what beverage to accompany what to eat. The Vatican tour ended with the discovery of a splendid salumeria, the Florence Mercato Centrale was a cheap choice for lunch after the Duomo, the British Museum had a great cafeteria, and if you are going to stop on the M6 don’t go past Tebay Services in Cumbria – why can’t roadside foodstops in Australia be stocked with fresh produce like breads, cakes, meats, diary and fruit from local farms?
Cafe Gourmand, France’s finest creation.
Max the lab, door greeter, entertainer, Paris.
Did you learn anything about yourself or the world on this trip?
I learnt that I needed to learn more history. I thought I knew a bit. But Europe is stacked with so many “histories” – Renaissance, Reformation, two World Wars, the Campbells vs the McDonalds, the Celts, the Druids, the Normans vs the English, the Scots vs the English, the Beatles vs the Stones, the Punks vs society, Man U vs Man City.  We went on a rock and roll walking tour of inner London that included the old Apple Records building on Savile Row where the Beatles performed on the rooftop. Around the corner was the studio where “Bohemian Rhapsody” was recorded.
Would you recommend others travel here?
Ours was mostly a well-trod path so there is no need for my recommendations on places to see but I would recommend considering the early winter season. The really bad weather is yet to strike, fares are cheap, queues are small. But check ahead on what is open. Many places close or have reduced hours at this time of year.
Do you have any tips for people thinking of travelling here?
There are two types of travellers – those that plan ahead and those that just wing it. It’s kind of fun jumping between the two – a bit of foresight here, and a bit of “let’s just see what happens” there. Our timeframe was tight, six countries in six weeks so we erred on the side of pre-booking most of our accommodation and transport and I’m glad we did. Those two essentials never gave us any hassles. And that gave us more time to choose where to eat.
No climbing ducks? Confusion in Cumbria.
Been somewhere lately? We’d love to hear about it! Leave us a note below or drop us a line at AllabroadAU(@)Gmail.com

Healthcare Quotes!
(dark humor)
Four: My patient really needs a liver transplant. I want tonight to be the night he gets it. Legend: What’s your blood type? Four, rolling his eyes: Not my liver. I want to see him recover and all! Sky: That would be the fastest way to procure it, though. The ultimate sacrifice for your patient. Truly being a patient advocate. Legend: Let us know when you off yourself and we’ll give it like six minutes so you can be properly brain dead and all. Four, huffing: How about Warriors? He’s strong, healthy— Sky: Nah, he drinks too much, you don’t want his liver. Wars: >:O I DO NOT Legend: *wheezing*
Mo: *coughing* Hyrule: You good? Mo: I’m dying Aurora: None of that crap until the shift is over, we’ve had enough call outs tonight! Mo, sadly: Aw man
Warriors: *exiting a patient’s room laughing* Legend: What’s so funny? Wars: This dude has the absolute best insults ever. Legend: Who was he insulting? Wars: Me, because he didn’t get his water fast enough, but man was it amazing. Legend, interested now: So what did he call you?? Warriors, smirking evilly: You’ll never know. Legend: Wha—YOU CANT LEAD ME ON AND THEN LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THAT
Twilight, staring into the void: Ilia: What’s wrong? Twi: The girl in 15 said I couldn’t play with her ponies because I wasn’t cool enough. Ilia, biting back laughter: That’s rough, buddy
Wild: This one teenager I was transporting to MRI said I was so bad at directions I couldn't find my way out of a paper bag. Twilight: She ain’t wrong. Wind: Did you say anything back? Wild: I said “Actually I can, animal control tried to use a bag to catch me and I found my way out of it just fine.” Twi, sighing: I can believe it
Time, stopping a surgical resident from doing something: That is what we call an artery. When I said don’t kill the patient, I meant don’t kill the patient. Since you were about to cut the artery, I think we need a lesson really quickly on what does and does not kill a patient. Time: For example. Bleeding to death leads to dying. I know this might be hard for you to understand but— Malon: *narrows eyes, raises eyebrow* Time:…But I understand you’re still learning.
Fable: Yeah, so she was supposed to get a mini-MVR, they perfed her LV, then they fixed that and her papillary muscles tore, then they tried to fix that and she got a VSD, so they just put her on ECMO and balloon pump and shipped her to us. Wild: What does—what?? Time: Her heart woke up and chose violence. Or her surgeon did, I’m not sure which.

Wild looked up, bewildered, when music started to gently serenade him. He glanced at Twilight, who clearly had turned it on with his phone, as his friend stared intently at the screen.
“What are you doing?” Wild asked.
“I gotta learn the lyrics to this song,” Twilight said seriously.
Wild scrunched his nose as he listened to the lyrics. “That’s Zoran. You can hardly speak Hylian with your accent sometimes.”
Twilight threw him an exasperated look. “It can’t be that hard. Since when did you know Zoran?”
“Since I just heard it,” Wild huffed with a smirk, though hearing the language brought a twinge of pain to his heart. Whatever memories were locked away… they…
“Oh, is that Life in Pink?” Malon called from upstairs as she came into the living room, a smile on her face. “Ah, I remember hearing this in my honeymoon.”
“Twi wants to sing it,” Wild said, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Got yourself a date?” Malon asked with a smirk, hands in her hips.
Twilight rolled his eyes. “No. It’s for a patient. She’s a Zora girl, she’s far from home, and she said it’s her favorite song.”
“Aw honey,” Malon said gently, putting a hand to her heart. “That’s so sweet of you.”
“Twi… you can’t sing,” Wild noted, staring at his friend with his eyebrows scrunched together.
“I know that song,” Time hummed as he entered from the kitchen.
“Yes, it’s from our honeymoon!” Malon confirmed cheerily. “Twi’s learning it for a patient.”
Time blinked a few times, mouth moving as if he were about to speak, and then he thought better of it.
“He was gonna say it too!” Wild noted, pointing at him.
“I can sing just fine!” Twilight grumbled.
“I’m trying to figure out if you’re gonna make her laugh or cry,” Wild cackled.
Twilight crossed his arms, growing steadily grumpier. “Ilia’s gonna be singing with me. She’s learning it too.”
“Oh good,” Wild sighed in relief. “That’ll make it better.”
“You’ve never even met Ilia!”
“Her singing has to be better than yours.”
Twilight huffed, turning to ask for Time and Malon’s input, when he caught sight of the couple slow dancing in the background. Wild paused and turned, and the two men smiled at the pair, who were lost in each other’s eyes and living in a time past as the music floated in the air.

"Okay," Zelda said, smacking her fist into her palm. "This one is going to be it."
Silently, her companion added a scratch mark to some parchment he'd been carrying.
Zelda glanced at him, eyes narrowing. "Are you keeping tabs?"
"Only when you say this one is going to be it or some variation of it," Link replied smoothly.
Zelda huffed, ready to argue, when out of curiosity she asked, "Where are we at?"
"Eight."
"Ha! I expected more! This is good, then."
Link sighed. "What's the story with this one?"
"Hear me out," Zelda started excitedly, spreading her hands like she was opening a large book. "A thousand years ago our land was encased in shadow."
Link stopped his horse, staring at her. "Is this another one of Beedle's stories? The last one nearly got us killed."
"No, no, no!" Zelda grumbled, rolling her eyes. "This one is from my family. History may have turned to hearsay and legend for the common folk of Hyrule, but it's sacred to my family. This one actually happened!"
Link raised an eyebrow, skeptical, but urged his steed to start moving nonetheless.
"So," Zelda continued. "A thousand years ago, shadows came to our land and cursed our people. My ancestor joined up with royalty from a distant land and together, they summoned the Hero of Light, who destroyed the shadows. That very Hero lived in the village we're going to!"
Link had to admit... he was still dubious, but he was a little curious. "An actual Hero? There's relics of one of the acutal Heroes? What royalty from a distant land? The only neighboring land I know of fell to ruin a hundred years ago."
"I don't know where it was, honestly," Zelda answered sincerely. "They were always really vague about it and I don't know why. But apparently the person died, so they honored her sacrifice."
Link hummed, tossing his braid back over his shoulder. After going through multiple villages, towns, and even a city, the fact that they were going somewhere that might have housed an actual Hero at some point in history was almost promising. Perhaps Zelda would find who she was looking for and Link could return to his quiet home and avoid all this mess.
It seemed too good to be true, though. Heroes were relegated to myths. The only reason he knew those myths were real was because of his parents. But still... they were ancient.
Surely no such catastrophe could strike the land now. The princess was just naive, right?
"Ah! We're here!" Zelda announced happily, bringing her horse's steady stroll to an end. Link watched her climb off before following suit.
"Where is here?" he asked as they passed a spring.
"Ordon Village," the princess replied, popping her hands on her hips and smiling with pride.
Link stood there beside her, staring a moment and sniffing tentatively. "It smells like manure."
Zelda scrunched her nose. "It does not! What if that smell is something else entirely?"
"It's definitely manure, Highness."
"Well your town smelled like it too!"
"My town is a trading hub!"
"I can't even smell any--" Zelda stopped in mid-sentence as the wind changed directions, scrunching her nose. "Oh."
Link turned to her, now completely affronted. "What did you smell before that made you think of my town?"
Zelda waived a dismissive hand. "Doesn't matter - we have to find the Hero!"
Link sighed, following the princess into the village. "Your Highness, your story is from a thousand years ago. That Hero is long gone."
"Of course he is," Zelda replied with a roll of her eyes. "But there's word of someone named Link who lives here!"
One royal pronouncement and excited welcome later, the pair found themselves standin gover a crib.
"Well," Link quipped. "I suppose he could cry the enemy to death."
Zelda's sour look was response enough.
"Is there a Rattle that Seals the Darkness?"
"Just shut up."
The princess could only be upset for so long before she started cooing at the baby and laughing as the little bundle giggled in reply. Even Link had to smile fondly at it. The two congratulated the happy couple and gave them their well wishes before dining with the village and setting out once more.
"I think your story was a bit off," Link remarked as they walked their horses to the edge of the village.
"Just because the lead was false doesn't mean that a Hero didn't once live here," the princess said a little stiffly. "My family's history speaks of it."
He didn't argue. His own father spoke often of the royal family's role in helping Hyrule remember its history. He just... well, he had to admit he was a little disappointed. While he wasn't nearly as excited by history as his father, the promise of seeing traces of the Hero had been simultaneously intriguing and unnerving.
Either way, it was back to the road for them.
The masseur paused as the princess continued, glancing over at the spring as something sparkly caught his eye. Was that... was that a fairy? He hadn't seen one of those since he was a child, and that had only been once! Distracted, he hovered back a hair as Zelda plodded ahead, but the princess noticed his stillness.
"What is it?" she asked, coming back to him, before she saw it too. With an excited gasp, she rushed ahead, and Link tripped over himself to follow her.
The fairy flitted away quickly, but the pair stopped nonetheless.
They were back at the spring, but behind the waterfalls that fed into it, they could make out a small engraving. The two slinked around the edge of the spring (Link nearly face planted on the smooth, slick stone) until they managed to get behind the roaring water. Link shivered as they both got soaked in the misty spray, but the princess seemed completely unbothered.
Zelda's hand snaked around his upper arm, eyes fixed on a point, and she whispered, "It's him."
Link was about to question what she meant, wondering how a stone could mean anything, when he squinted at engraved words that were below a half worn symbol of the Triforce.
-ink
-elove- --ther and husba--
H-ro of L--t & Sh-d-w
"There's no grave here," Link noted softly.
"A monument to him, then," Zelda noted, though a little confusedly. "Why wouldn't they bury him here, or somewhere with honor?"
Link stared at the stone, eyes trailing down to see fresh flowers placed there. The villagers know and didn't tell the princess. A soft smile pulled at his lips. "He comes from a pretty humble place. I think... I think he wanted to keep it that way."
The princess hummed, still perplexed but trying to understand. Eventually, though, she knelt, folding her hands in prayer. Link sank to his knees, sitting on his legs rather than kneeling, eyes looking beyond the words half lost to time. He thought of the history behind his name, and behind his people, and he wished for a moment that he could claim to be part of such a heroic lineage. If the Heroes of Hyrule were truly like this...
He sighed, closing his eyes and bowing his head in honor.

Febuwhump Day 12 - Semi-Conscious
This one is based on one of my favorite whumptober art pieces from one of my favorite artists, @kikker-oma
The smell of wet grass filled his nostrils as he blearily opened his eyes. An owl hooted nearby while crickets chirped. It was a relaxing ambience overall, but he was far too addled to figure out what was happening. Nothing felt right - his head ached horribly, he felt like he was chained down, crushed under an impossibly heavy and invisible weight. Twilight groaned and then coughed, his throat parched, and he shivered as sweat poured off him.
Was he poisoned...? Why did he feel like this?
He heard something over him, like a low, rumbling sound. Although he could hardly decipher what it was, it sounded... soothing. Familiar.
Time.
Blinking his eyes open, Twilight realized he was laying on the floorboards of a half demolished building. He could see figures in the distance but he couldn't parse out who they were.
Spirits his head hurt.
He was sick. He remembered now, vaguely. He had fallen ill shortly after they'd arrived in this new Hyrule.
The floorboards creaked as someone walked away. Twilight glanced around, not really registering what had just happened, but he saw a bowl of water with a rag resting in it.
Water. He could get the sweat off his face, he could drink.
Twilight reached shakily, his arm hurting at the movement, slowly descending to the ground before he could even get to his goal. His vision blurred a little, and he rested his forehead on the ground before trying again.
"Twi, hold on, I'm coming over--" someone said. Wild? It sounded like Wild.
"I've got it," Twilight insisted, his hand finally reaching the bowl before it collapsed once more against his will, spilling the contents of the bowl and knocking the rag farther out of reach.
Twilight stared at it a moment, frustration boiling over, desperate for relief, and he found himself crying.
Crying. Oh Spirits. Make it stop, make it stop.
Someone knelt beside him just as someone else grabbed the bowl.
"It's okay, Pup," Time soothed softly, a hand on Twilight's back. "We'll get more, it's okay."
Wild appeared in his line of vision with a flask and a smile. "Hey, see? I've got water right here."
"You think he's gonna be delirious like this for long?" someone else asked a little worriedly.
Twilight hiccupped as he felt himself get pulled into a seated position. Wild helped him hold the flask so he could drink, and a white sailcloth caught his eye in his periphery as someone laid a cool, damp rag on his forehead. Goddesses that felt amazing.
"I'm not sure," the deeper voice to his right rumbled before letting him rest against something soft and warm. Twilight sank into the comfort, sniffling, forgetting that he'd been crying a moment ago. An arm wrapped around him, holding him close as he listened to a steady heartbeat.
"Champ...?" Twilight asked confusedly.
Wild appeared in front of him. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here."
"Oh," Twilight answered dully. "Hi."
Wild snorted with a smile. "Hey."
"We'll see if his fever breaks in the morning," the person holding him said.
Fever? Oh, that's right, he was sick.
He was sick, right?
Twilight hummed, squeezing his eyes shut as the headache pulsed again. He was pulled tighter into the embrace, and a blanket was pulled around his shoulders.
"Go back to sleep, Pup."
Sighing, Twilight let himself go, safe in Time's embrace.

Febuwhump Day 5 - Rope Burns
Twilight was the first to find him.
Time hurried behind his pup as the wolf howled, alerting him. A second later the younger hero was in action, snarling and taking down beasts with a ferocity that still sometimes caught the elder off guard. Time drew his blade, momentarily distracted when he saw the familiar figure locked away in a wooden cage, but his attention was pulled away by a moblin.
The fight was intense but brief, and by the point Time was sheathing his blade, Twilight was already back in Hylian form and hacking away at the wooden bars keeping him from his brother-in-arms.
"Sky!" Twilight called to the teenager. "Sky, wake up, it's okay now. You're safe."
Time knelt down to try and look the young knight in the face, but Sky was curled in on himself, his hair hiding what little of his face was exposed. Twilight shattered the wooden bars and hastily scurried into the cage. Time knew there would be no space for him, so instead he asked, "How is he?"
"Unconscious," Twilight muttered, giving the boy a tenative shake.
"Bring him out here," Time ordered, pulling out a dagger. When Twilight dragged the boy into the open, Time quickly cut through the bonds around his wrists, noticing the angry red rope burns that were left behind.
Twilight glowered at the injuries, looking as if he wanted to kill the monsters all over again.
"We need to get him back to camp," Time said, pushing past his own worry to guide the younger hero. Twilight nodded, eyes still intense and angry, and he pulled the Skyloftian onto his back.
Sky groaned at the gesture, moving a little. Time brushed some hair out of his face to look at him. "Sky, it's okay. You're safe. Our ranch hand is going to carry you, okay?"
"Hurts," Sky croaked, eyes half lidded from exhaustion. Time felt his chest clench a little, angry at himself for letting this happen. Sky had already been ill when the group had been overtaken. The fact that the monsters had taken him prisoner had scared everyone almost more than if he'd been horribly wounded.
Time's hand rested on the young hero's forehead, feeling the boy's skin burn with almost enough intensity to rival Death Mountain.
He sighed, dropping his hand, eyes fixed on the rope burns the boy now had. "Let's go."
"It's going to be okay, Sky," Twilight whispered in assurance as he started to walk, nuzzling the boy's face as he rested on his shoulder. Sky mumbled something unintelligible, and by the time they'd reached camp he was likely delirious, eyes staring at nothing, face flushed, body limp as Time took him off Twilight's back and lowered him to the ground.
Time watched the boy, guilt gnawing at him, and he sighed, letting Sky rest on his lap. "We'll protect you, young one. Don't worry."

Febuwhump Day 7 - Suffering in Silence
LU in Healthcare! Feat. Warriors and Legend, PTSD and difficulties with empathy and difficult patients
XXX
Warriors rolled his eyes as he heard the patient yelling.
Legend shot him a bemused, somewhat disconcerted look. "Look, I get people can be dramatic, but he is hurting."
"He bruised his hip," Warriors snapped. "I've seen the films. Literally nothing is broken. He has no medical history to denote that this is aggravating something that already exists. And he's screaming for the entire ER to hear. He needs to suck it up. I gave him an ice pack to hold him over until the pain meds get verified by the pharmacist, I'm not denying him anything, but this is excessive."
"Yes," Legend agreed as the man screamed again, making people pause and turn their heads. "It is excessive. But maybe he's never had a bruised bone before. They hurt. He's in pain. People express pain differently."
"Obviously," Warriors grumbled, rubbing his forehead as a headache developed with another yell from the room.
Legend watched him, his eyes becoming more discerning. "Link... just because you've been through some serious shit doesn't mean everyone else should understand that. I... I get that the military makes you build a tolerance, but not everyone goes through that."
Warriors paused, closing his eyes and trying to regulate his breathing as the patient hit the call bell.
"I... look, I can tell you're angry, and I can't really... understand why, but--"
"Because people here get to just make demands and expect us to wait on them hand and foot when others are dealing with so much worse and never ask for such things," Warriors snapped before he could stop himself.
Yes. This patient was in pain. Yes. He would treat said pain. It was cruel not to do so. But that wasn't the issue, it was the entitlement, the demands that came with it. I'm in pain, I can't reach something that's within reach. I'm in pain, give me food. Why can't I get fucking food? My mouth is so fucking dry and you're denying me that?! Warriors had heard it again and again, had explained multiple times to multiple people that if someone is going to get surgery they can't ingest anything or they might vomit and aspirate during surgery, he'd seen a grandmother with a broken hip politely deny pain medication and apologize for even needing to be there while others like this one made sure to let the entire world know he had a bruise.
Fuck. Warriors chewed on his lip. Civilian life was certainly different.
Legend huffed mildly. Although the army nurse expected some snippy remark, his friend instead bounced his eyebrows briefly and looked away. "Yeah, I get that." But then the travel nurse looked back at him, holding eye contact. "But you can't take it out on him."
He's still a person. He still deserves respect. He's in a rough spot and you know it.
Warriors sighed and nodded, walking away. He needed space to calm down, somewhere he couldn't hear the screaming.
The screaming. The agonizing screaming of his brothers-in-arms as they lost legs, as they bled to death with nothing he could do about it. The patient's yells pitched higher, morphing into a woman's yells instead, and Warriors felt his heart stop. His world shifted, he wasn't in an ER anymore, not in Castle Town, not in--
"Hey, looks like pharmacy verified the med," Legend said from the nurses' station. "I'll give him the medicine, okay?"
Warriors swallowed, leaning against the wall, counting to ten over and over and over. "Yeah. Okay."

It was a dull, rainy morning as Warriors made his way home. The shift had been fairly mundane, but the weather and being on his feet all night still left him exhausted.
His mind was a fog as he climbed the stairs to his apartment. Sometimes he tried to debrief on his walks home, but most times he couldn’t quite settle his thoughts on any one thing. Thankfully he didn’t have anything too terrible to debrief today.
It was silly to even think he needed such things. Nothing really bothered him these days. As frustrating as civilian healthcare could be, it was rarely traumatic in the way wartime nursing had been.
Maybe I am more pensive than I thought, he mused with a weak huff as he unlocked the door.
His mind snapped into focus as strange smells hit his nostrils before immediately registering them. Syrup, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits.
Furrowing his brow, Warriors slowly moved inside and went to the kitchen to find Wind in wrinkled pajamas, hair a hot mess, finishing up making an omelette.
“You’re up awfully early,” Wars noted.
Wind jumped a little, fumbling the omelette and nearly spilling it on the stove top, and then he turned to smile at his brother in all but blood. “I’m making breakfast!”
“I see that,” Wars acknowledged with a smile. “What’s the occasion? Aren’t classes later?”
Wind’s sleepy cheer sobered, and he waved the spatula like it was a baton. “Well, after meeting the old man’s wife, I decided that Time isn’t the only one who needs someone to take care of him. So I’ve decided to make breakfast for you when you get off work.”
Warriors stared at the teenager, lost for words. He… his chest warmed unexpectedly, throat thick with emotion.
“Don’t expect it every time,” Wind warned him a little halfheartedly. “I know for sure I can’t get up this early every time. But I figured when you finish a stretch—”
“That’s fine,” Warriors interrupted, biting his tongue as he still fought with emotions. Then he gave a genuine smile. “Thanks, kiddo.”
Wind’s smile in return was as bright as the sun, and he gave Warriors a tight hug.

Febuwhump Day 11 - Time Loop
Based on this art and idea from @twilight-linkess! Your art is always so great, I haven't had a chance to reblog it much lately but by heaven I will!
This new era was strange. Not because anything in particular really stuck out, but because it felt eerily familiar while also quite foreign. Both Time and Twilight observed similarities, the former sensing fairy magic as if he were in the Lost Woods while the latter recognized some architecture. Neither could pinpoint enough to really definitively say it was their era, and a nearby village had no recollection of anyone named Link.
So they were between heroes, then.
Despite this knowledge, Twilight felt... uneasy, for lack of a better word. He found himself looking over his shoulder often. Time hovered close to him, worry coating his features and setting his shoulders stiffly. It was still too close to Twilight's injury, and his elder was clearly letting his misgivings about the place channel into worry over his descendant.
As for Twilight... well. He'd been having disturbing dreams and visions lately. He swore it was just because he wasn't really sleeping well, because this place made him feel off. But some days, when he was laughing with Time, the way his armo glinted would dull, like it was rusting over before his very eyes. Or, worse, his armor would shine too bright, reflecting a red eye glowing in a skull that wasn't--couldn't be there.
By the time a week had passed, Twilight was ready to lose his mind. Every time he looked at his elder he had to do a double take to make sure he was real. Every time he saw the man's reflection it looked ghostly.
It's fine, he tried to reassure himself. You're just sleep deprived. It's not like he's going to vanish into thin air. He's fine.
But every night he shivered, no matter how many blankets he wrapped himself in. Every night he saw bony fingers reach out to him. Every night Time lay dead on the ground.
When he finally found he'd had enough, he patrolled the woods in his wolf form. A golden light caught his attention, heartbreakingly familiar but impossibly so. He followed it with haste, heart racing, but no matter how fast he ran, it always moved faster.
High, high above the Hero of Twilight, the Hero's Shade watched, sadness hanging over him. He ached to see his pup and talk to him, to almost have a conversation where both would have equal knowledge of the other for once, but... no. He couldn't interfere with the timeline any more than he already had.
Go on, little pup, he bade with all the love his aching heart could muster. Stay safe with your brothers.

Writing prompts! I'm sending them individually to make it easier to answer all or a few or none of them. They all turned out to be LU in Healthcare oops
When Hyrule is on a call and the patient is awake and alert enough to be scared, how does he help?
EMS calls had phases to them.
The first phase, of course, was getting dispatched, and responding to the scene. It was typical for emotions to run high immediately, for the adrenaline to spike, and everyone reacted differently. Hyrule usually ran scenarios through his head, easing his own anxiety by preparing himself based on the dispatch information. It wasn’t much, especially since dispatch could have faulty details, and he was more than happy to wing it… but it kept his mind preoccupied.
Mo’s usual response was to get aggravated. He would judge the dispatch information, would get irritated whenever a driver messed up and did something reckless. The man’s compassion was quiet and immense, but his stress came out in snappish quips directed at situations and nonexistent people.
The third phase began with their arrival. This was usually when they would figure out what they were actually dealing with.
A dispatch for chest pain meant Mo drove and Hyrule led. The secondary indicated a male in his 40s with severe chest pain and difficulty breathing. It couldn’t really get more cut and dry than that, Hyrule supposed. They had to drive to the central train station, which complicated matters. Hyrule had to agree as Mo grumbled about the situation - he hated crowded scenes.
As the pair walked inside with a stretcher loaded with supplies, they were directed to a secluded area, which surprised Hyrule. He was far more accustomed to people bunching up to stare, getting in his way and making his skin crawl. Instead, they were ferried into a small room, and Hyrule’s senses immediately went on alert at the sight of security guards.
He supposed one of the security members was the patient, then.
But no, because it was clear who the patient was, and his lack of security uniform was not the first thing Hyrule noticed. It was his grayish complexion, the sweat beading his forehead, the scrunched up expression of focus and agony fighting for control. It was the way the man was carefully rocking back and forth between leaning back and clutching his chest and leaning forward to open his airway because he couldn’t breathe. It was how silent he was, eyes piercing through the table in front of him as he fought with all his might with how he was feeling.
This man was sick.
Mo sensed it too, and immediately started to guide the stretcher in time with Hyrule as they reached the patient. Mo prepped the monitor to get the man’s vital signs and do an EKG to look at his heart while Hyrule assessed him and spoke to him.
“Hello, sir,” he greeted, eyes looking the man over. “What’s going on?”
“These gentlemen are being too dramatic,” the man wheezed, sharp eyes burning into the security guards. “I’m fine.”
The statement was so ludicrous even Mo stopped what he was doing to throw the patient a look.
“You sure don’t look fine,” Hyrule noted.
“That’s what we said,” one of the guards piped up. “His friend called us over because he nearly collapsed.”
Hyrule glanced around. “Where’s your friend?”
“I told him to get on the damn train,” the patient grumbled. “Which is where I should be.”
“Let’s make sure you’re okay first,” Hyrule advised him. “It won’t do you any good to board that train if you die before you reach your destination.”
Given the man’s attitude, Hyrule expected some kind of scoff or angry response, but instead, the man bit his lip, showing fear. A pang of sympathy went through the paramedic, and he put his hand on the man’s shoulder. “Let’s just see what’s going on, okay?”
The man watched him a moment, saying nothing, eyes searching for something, and then he squeezed them shut, chin tilting down as he nodded.
“When did this start?”
The patient hesitated before answering. “It’s been going on for an hour or two. Just got much worse when were climbing the stairs.”
Alarm bells continued to ring in Hyrule’s mind as he listened. Time is heart tissue repeated over and over. He felt his own heart beat faster as the monitor collected information.
HR 118. BP 92/44 with a MAP of 60. RR 28, SpO2 89%, and the EKG…
ST elevation. Leads II and III, with reciprocal depression in V4. Shit.
This man was having a heart attack. He’d been having one, and he was going into shock.
“Sir, it looks like you’re having a heart attack,” Hyrule informed him as he and Mo moved into action, getting him oxygen through a nasal cannula that could also read capnogrpahy, moving bags off the stretcher so they could quickly get him on it. “Have you had one before? What kind of medical history do you have?”
The patient watched him a moment, growing paler, and then he squeezed his eyes closed yet again, trying to calm himself. “I smoke. Nothing else. Doc mentioned high blood pressure during the last exam, but he said cut the cigarettes and the stress. Didn’t need meds yet. I don’t take anything.”
“Any medical allergies?”
“No.”
“Have you taken anything for this pain?”
“Aspirin,” the man answered with a huff. “I started carrying it just in case.”
“Good thing,” Hyrule commented, patting him on the shoulder lightly. “We’re going to take good care of you, okay?”
Mo had the stretcher ready and in front of them, with the monitor behind the back of the cot. Hyrule shoulder the go bag and oxygen tank while assisting the patient to stand, pivot, and sit. The less strain on his struggling heart, the better.
Security helped clear a path for them as they moved quickly. Hyrule already had his phone in hand, telling the ER to call a STEMI alert. Once they were inside the ambulance, Mo helped Hyrule secure everything and then quickly went up front to drive them out of there. Hyrule grabbed defibrillator pads, placing them on the man’s chest.
“Are those necessary?” The man asked, far more out of fear and dread than anything else.
Hyrule tried to find a balance, tried to reassure the poor man as he moved. “They’re just a precaution. Right now I don’t see a big indication for them, but I like to be ready.”
As he moved on to start an IV, he worked on trying to distract the man. His oxygen saturation had improved with the oxygen, but his blood pressure was still low. Too low for nitroglycerin, which was contraindicated in an inferior MI anyway. Hyrule didn’t have many treatment options, and he hated that. He’d tentatively give fluids. The MAP was still survivable, but barely.
“You from Castle Town?” He asked with a small smile as he put the tourniquet on the man’s arm.
“No. Well. I was.” The man answered, watching him work before swearing under his breath and staring at the ceiling. “I’m supposed to be going home. This was my break from work.”
Hyrule struggled a bit to comment on that. He tried, “Well, once the hospital patches you up, you’ll be able to go home in better condition than you would’ve.”
“You mean alive,” the man remarked bitterly, huffing, “God certainly does like to fucking test me. But if he doesn’t kill me, my wife and daughter will.”
Hyrule was about to ask about them, but the patient picked up on his attempt and waved him off. “Please, just do what you need to do.”
Hyrule obliged him, thankful for the silence to focus. He got the 18G IV in the man’s forearm—for being a smoker he had very good veins and toned arms. He at least kept in shape in that regard.
As Hyrule ran out of things to do aside from observe, he grabbed his computer to collect information. He got the man’s name and date of birth, home address, basic medical information. He called the hospital and updated them.
Mo got them to the ED in record time. The pair quickly unloaded the stretcher and went inside, where charge told them to go to one of the major rooms. A group of three or four people was waiting for them, including Warriors and Legend and Twilight and an emergency physician, as well as a cardiologist. Hyrule gave his report quickly as they moved the patient and wished the man luck.
As he exited, he sighed, feeling the tension drain out of his body. They got him there alive. That was a victory. He hoped the hospital could help him.
“Hey Rulie!”
Hyrule turned and smiled as he saw Wild. “Hey! I thought you weren’t released to go back to work until next week?”
“Eh, I passed the last exam with flying colors,” Wild shrugged with a satisfied smirk. “I heal pretty well, you know.”
The crash flashed in his mind again. The blood. Wild’s broken body. Hyrule’s smile grew a little strained. “Please don’t strain yourself.”
“I won’t,” his friend replied sincerely. “I promise.”
Movement caught his eye, and Hyrule looked beyond to see Warriors and Twilight pushing the stretcher with his patient into the hall, likely heading for the cath lab. He was honestly surprised he himself hadn’t been directed to take the patient there directly.
Wild turned as well to look. “You brought him in?”
“Yeah,” Hyrule answered quietly as the man caught sight of him, pained, tired eyes scanning him before stopping at his companion.
The man jolted up, nearly ripping out an IV in the process. Hyrule jumped, startled, and watched Twilight fight the man to lie back down. He stepped forward, eager to help and soothe the man, who had mostly been reasonable for him. Wild stayed frozen in place.
“Abel, it’s okay,” Hyrule assured him. “They’re gonna help you.”
“L—Link—” the man said, arm reaching beyond Hyrule.
How did he know his…?
He wasn’t talking to Hyrule, was he?
Hyrule turned hesitantly, and saw that Wild was nearly paler than the patient. His eyes were glazed over in that familiar look, that look that the medic knew now to recognize.
Hyrule quickly went to his friend while Warriors and Twilight both held down the patient, who was hurried out of the ED while breathlessly saying all their names over and over and over, his voice growing steadily weaker.
