The morning had moved Jude fast. Awoken before first light, dawn shrouded by snowfall—light at first it had rapidly become fierce. The wind's violent assault against the ranch had made her movements rushed and graceless. Duty. It had to be demanding force to drag her away from the bed. The bed where Shaw slept twisted in her sheets. Again. She knew better than to count days or remain where something whole threatened to spill out of her. She had kissed their temple, free from the eyes of ruin. If she stayed for a moment more, the world would long be left to collapse before she had noticed anything else at all. No solace was ever kept.

A loose wood panel ripped from its place had been sharp against Jude’s cheekbone, just a surface wound—not the deep cut of the wind that howled past. The animals had been ushered into the barn without much convincing, huddled together purposefully now. They pulled survival from each other easily. Less complicated than the humans of their shared hell, with no teeth bared or bloodshed—safe together. She could only make do with tarpaulin and hay, quiet the whistle of the wind. The barn seemed to hold strong against the onslaught. The newer wood enforcements steadfast against the blizzard although something like a callous joke now. Was she always just awaiting tragedy?  

The barn was closed tight now, at least, not swaying like the trees. The earth was white and stark, almost blinding. In it, a single patch of colour. A flower. It stuck out defiant in the snow, it wouldn’t survive. It should have already perished. Jude’s brow knitted together, she didn't look away. The wind persisted, the bloom swayed—a violent movement. It was ritualistic. A half-remembered conversation, then. Lectures from a nun. A memory dull in the howl of the wind. Scoffed at by the time by a teenager tall and bruised but words still faithfully retained. Everything had been kept, just hidden away. A weight dragged behind her. 

Scorn for the world won’t protect your heart, child. 

Jude plucked the flower from the small gap in the earth. For Shaw, she thought but she didn’t know why. She could no longer hear the world. There was only the wind. It screeched now, then, in a moment of grievous clarity: a plunge felt in the gut. The pine tree by the cabin bent, then broke—landed on the roof with a putrid crack. Her tongue turned metallic in her mouth, there was only a single thought left. Chant or prayer: Shaw.

The bedroom door was thrust open into nothingness, floorboards and steps barely touched on the way. It was scarcely a room now, the sky had leaked in entirely. The tree was all she could see, yet she pushed forward. “Shaw?” A noise desperate and bare in the throat, a sound not known for years—decades. She had stopped begging when God had not listened. Only the wind answered. Silently, her hand unclenched to search, to unearth and find, a flower dropped to the floor—a thought forgotten. 

“Shaw, please.” 

For once, God would hear her.

so far, so good. there had been a few hiccups here and there, but the first hour of the luncheon had been running smoothly. the food was to be served in half an hour, guests were still streaming steadily in, and saul had the distinct honor of making sure everyone was having a good time. he flitted through the burgeoning party, greeting familiar faces and complete strangers, when he was nearly struck dead by the next guest that he laid his eyes on. guests. thalia edwards and leon wozniak. the most familiar face of them all: his third ex-wife… on the arm of his… friend. boyfriend was too familiar of a term for his relationship with leon, but what else was he supposed to call the man that he had been sleeping with all summer? leon and thalia certainly looked familiar to each other, and if his heart didn’t ache just a little from seeing leon with another woman, or to see thalia with another man, it was the fact that they knew each other at all. and that saul didn’t know that they knew each other.

saul got distracted by other guests walking around the party, shaking hands or discussing the benefit’s goals for fundraising, which was a task aided by a nice cocktail. there were many on the menu at the banquet hall’s bar, but nothing would hit the spot better than a french 75. the first of many that morning, saul had been waiting in line to order when he saw thalia—alone—walking by. he exited the line without another thought and jogged a few steps to catch up with her. “hey, thalia!” saul called her name, raising a hand to place on her shoulder before he thought better of it. “how are you? are you enjoying the luncheon so far?” the pleasantries were hurried and flat, but thalia never appreciated delicacy anyway. “i saw you with leon.” best to get his curiosity out of the way. “i’m not being some shitty macho me-tarzan-you-jane kind of guy or anything, i just didn’t realize that you knew each other.”

This was very easy I think <33 Yam shared my n1 spot of favorite SL character together with Ámbar. I love exploring and theorizing so much about her, especially because canon didn't. It's fun, my two favorite characters is one who GETS a lot of screentime and that's why it's fun to analyse her, and one who DOESN'T get as much screentime as she's a secondary character, and that's why it's fun to analyse her and theorize, how is her family situation, what did she do when she walked away from this scene, how is her life at Art One? Does she have a fun school time? How was she academically at Blake, because sometimes it felt like she, Jim and Luna were at the same level but the show only focused on Luna because she's the main character. But I'm getting the vibe both Jim and Yam also has had to take re-exams because they failed something.

I was however a bit hesitant with Nina and Jim, because they can switch places a lot. But I've realized, with Jim, my focus on her is like 70% just her relationship with Yam, I don't focus as much on her as an individual lmao (even if I still have given Jim a lot of focus too! I've for example imagined her having an older sister who was the first who clock in that Jim was gay etc). Nina I focus a LOT more on in general, possibly because she's a larger character so we've seen more with her. But Delfi and Jazmin I've just in general not thought much about at all in comparison. Delfi especially. All the other girls I have a general view on what they're up to as adults (and Jazmin we've canonically seen what she's up to due to her being in Bia... ik Delfi appears in Bia too but she appeared much more briefly), but Delfi I'm like... what does she do? Does she get married? Does she have a career? Will she have kids? I don't know and I'm not too interested either!

Meanwhile with Jim, Yam and Nina I'm all like "oh they're doing this, they're doing that, they get married at this age, one of Nina's kids is trans, Jim and Yam's oldest daughter may get together with a Violetta next gen oc, etc-".

Sleeping Beauty

The Captain was the ideal head of the Erebus. Strong, capable, and experienced, there wasn’t a smidge of doubt as to whether or not he was fit for the position. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for him, and with only a few weeks into the journey, the Captain was gravely injured and is indefinitely in a coma… not that the passengers are aware of that.

A Divisive Choice

After serving for many years in the military as a commanding officer and air pilot, Nicholas Reeves was awarded several medals for acts of bravery and service in the face of danger before being promoted to General at the end of his duty. Unfortunately, his wife met a sorrier fate at the end of the conflict, and Reeves had little idea of what to do with his life. Left with little idea of how to move on, he signed up to serve with ARCo. and was quickly promoted through the ranks thanks to his military experience. 

Despite having not gone on the previous ARCo. mission, Reeves was chosen as the executive officer for the Erebus due to his prestigious military rankings and the marketability of his experience to the general public. This caused many heads to turn, especially within the ranks of those who had actually served on the previous mission. 

Reeves had planned to shadow his Captain for the five year journey in the hopes of being promoted to captain himself in the future, and had no expectation of leading the group himself at any point soon. When the Captain was injured, however, leadership fell in Reeves’ lap, which has only heightened tensions within the highest ranks. He’s just doing his best, though - truly.

Shortly afterwards, he was employed as a Panocorps captain during the first voyage to CERES VII. Possessing an uncanny ability to recognize opportunity and to procure the unprocurable. He seized the opportunity to serve as quartermaster to return with the skeleton crew back to earth. Brusque, Very French™️, cunning, beleaguered.

The SL was an original traveller with ARCo. and has been among the ranks since the very first whisper of space travel. For years, she has done her job diligently and without complaint, thinking that this would see her rocketing through the ranks within a few years. Despite her hard work, however, she’s found herself stuck at a rank that she doesn’t feel reflects her years of service.

When the Erebus was first announced, she and several others of the initially suggested crew assumed that she would be awarded the position of Executive Officer, which did not wind up being the case. The SL was passed over due hard feelings within the ARCo. staff and feelings that she would not market well to the passengers on board when attempting to draw in willing customers. This was something she was willing to live with, since she respected the Captain, and if she played her cards right, she rarely ever had to report to the Executive Officer.

Since the accident, though, tensions have been rising, specifically within the SL herself, who feels that Reeves should never have been handed command, and that she could do a better job of steering the titanic away from impending doom. 

Some even believe she’s the one starting rumours of a mutiny.

The Swing Vote

The TL is new to the ranks of the ARCo. team for the Erebus’ journey. Having served in the Northern Pass Conflict, the TL gained a good deal of military expertise and knowledge. She has an impressive resumé, spanning from her military service to a degree in physics, which has served her well.

She’s had less difficulty integrating into the crew than Reeves since she has less of a leadership position, but she still often feels as though she’s on the outskirts of many decisions. Her loyalties are split because of this, as she trusts the expertise of her higher-ups, but can empathize with the feelings of her fellow Lieutenants. For this reason, she’s often a swing-vote in many decisions and can be a wildcard in many situations.

It’s confusing, to be making decisions on a sinking ship.

LC500 Convertible is REAL 🇯🇵🤤 ______________________________________ [6/13/19] The LCF is still on its way but before it arrives, Lexus will be unveiling the production version of the STUNNING LC500 Convertible! The LC Convertible will make its production debut early next month at Goodwood where its driver will experience that screaming V8 now sans roof! (Swipe right to hear it roar)! 🔥[@Allcarnews Spec Sheet] Powering the LC500 (we don’t talk about the LC500h) is a glorious naturally aspirated 5.0L V8 making 471HP and 398 lb-ft of torque and can do 0-60 in 4.4sec. Now they probably will come out with a LC500h Convertible which gets a 3.5L V6 paired to hybrid motors to Mae 354HP and 369 lb-ft of torque through a 4 speed auto/hybrid gearbox combo. 🔥 Now what do we know? Well its basically a Lc500 without a roof and should have the same stunning and very high quality interior and the same spaceship concept car looks outside! But one big question is what the roof material will be made out of! Most likely it will be a high quality noise insulated cloth material like on a DB11/DBS and Continental GT Convertible and NOT a metal roof as it already is a heavy GT car. Also we know Lexus has been experimenting with new Matte paint colors so maybe we can see that too along with some crazy materials for the seats and possibly the roof too!
