They had just sad there, playing poker - No, under Salena’s watchful eyes cheating was not fun - and Salena started dozing off. By the time Frenzy is back with a warm blanket, Salena shows signs of distress and Frenzy remembers with a worrisome, hissed ‘Fuck!’ about her sleeppotions. Too fucking late now! Salena has to have been more exhausted to not mention them. And Lament, the nerd, already went back to his library to sleep.

Frenzy knows from his own nightfrights that touching and waking Salena could end up in a defensive stance. Or triggering her. A quick glance to his arm as a memory of her teeth in his arm plays behind his eyes. Better not to repeat that. Scars are sexy, but not the stupidity ones.

So touch and shouting is out of the window. He has seen videos where a pet is woken by having nice food put in front of its nose. But what would Salena want? And even that could unearth bad memories. For fuck’s fucking sake, why is that so difficult.

Salena’s words dig deep. Frenzy grasps his anchor. She sounds so helpless, so desperate.

This isn’t fair. Frenzy should not hear this. This is intimate. It’s Salena’s to share And not… some dreamaccidentstuff.

They need something that does not fit the dream, but also is not abrupt, so it does not spell danger. Frenzy sighs. He hates it. He fucking hates it that he does not hate it. It’s pathetic, weak and cringeworthy. He takes an unneeded breath and sits across from Salena. Then he sings:

Salena’s ears pulled back more, her trembling growing a little more violent. One hand unlatches from the mattress, moving up to her arm. She can’t stop the claws from sinking in slightly, as if she’s gripping tightly at something.

The trembling dies down slightly when Frenzy starts to sing. It’s not obvious if it’s getting through to her... as she’s not hearing it...

But he did.

The doors in one particular alcove had cracked open, him tightening the locks on them once he had peeked through. She was stuck somewhere in one of these... so it was just a matter of finding her. There were so many that were similar... twisted... it could be hard to find her at the start... especially when she was talking or even screaming...

Then the song stared to pour into the hallway. He floated away from the doors, peeking out to listen. How interesting...

He pushed his way to the surface, her left eye cracking open. Rather than being blue, it was orange and slited. It turned, looking over at the red ghost, “Aww, how sweet. I’m sure she would appreciate it if she could hear it.” Her voice was deep, more masculine. Even though it seemed like someone was awake, her body was still trembling.

4 tsp. fresh lavender buds

2 tsp. chamomile blossoms

1 tsp. wormwood

1/2 tsp. valerian root
