How many works do you have on ao3? 100! (With 101 on the way... It's going to be part of another Good Omens Big Bang so I can't post it just yet.)

What's your total ao3 word count? 417,904

What fandoms do you write for? LA by Night, NY by Night, (and VtM in general through them) Good Omens and, though crossovers, Sandman and Constantine. I used to write a LOT of Doctor Who and Pirates of the Caribbean fic, but they haven't made to leap to Ao3 yet.

Do you respond to comments? Yes. Every single one.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably A Worst-Case Scenario, though Wait, I'm Coming With You is no picnic either. Neither of them are full fics, just single angsty scenes. For a FULL fic, probably I Don't Know What Happens Next.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I've written lots of fics with happy endings. Maybe... Not Like Other Angels has the happiest.

Do you get hate on fics? Not really, no, though I know some people found my Jasper/Annabelle fics to be... amusing when they were not intended to be lol

Do you write smut? Yes.

Craziest crossover: I've only got two on Ao3... and one of those isn't published yet. Good Omens/Sandman and Good Omens/Constantine. I don't think either of them are particularly crazy.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.

Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but I would LOVE it if someone would.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? A very, VERY long time ago, I started to co-write a fic with an online friend who I've long lost contact with. It was going to be an angsty X-Men/V for Vendetta cross over. More recently, some of my LA by Night fics came about through RP writing/brainstorming with @cravatfiend, so in a way, she co-wrote them as well.

All time favorite ship? Jasper/Eva and Crowley/Aziraphale, at the moment.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I've said it before and I'll say it again - every WIP I've started, I've finished. (At least, every one in the past 10 years.)

What are your writing strengths? Keeping characters in character, dialogue, and writing a lot in a short period of time.

What are your writing weaknesses? I don't think I'm very good at writing action/fight scenes. There are also several characters who I'm not confident in writing.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language? If I'm going to do it, I'd want to make sure it was as accurate as possible. I would be SO embarrassed to get anything wrong.

First fandom you wrote in? Sleepy Hollow (the Tim Burton movie) waaaaay back in my early ff.n days.

Favorite fic you've written? I really like how Do Not Lose Hope and Not Like Other Angels turned out, and I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Year One.

BASICS x2 What caused you to start writing? What was your key point?

in 3rd grade we watched the cartoon movie version of the legend of sleepy hollow and had an assignment to write a summary of it. i was barely out of ESL at the time but thought it was a neat assignment (and prided myself on my memory for details) so i hecking did my best and wrote a long detailed one (with pictures because it was elementary school and you could illustrate your stuff) and for some reason my teacher and the principal were all happy about it and made a big deal complete with ceremony and applause and made me feel important and cool.

after that i was like "yeah! that was awesome. can't i write more stories like that even outside of school?" and thus it kicked off my journaling obsession besides writing diaries of my daily life. i did a lot of original fics and sailor moon/digimon-inspired stuff but when i found ff.net it was like discovering a whole new world where you could control the characters to do whatever you wanted (while staying IC, cause that was definitely part of the "rules" of the challenge) and that was amazing.

realizing writing meant i could take destiny into my own hands for these made-up blorbos was such a fun power trip. i have tried to use that power responsibly ever since.

Do you still write your first muse?

dahlia hawthorne was my first real muse on tumblr and i poke her now and then, but she seems content in her semi-retirement in my brain. sometimes she wakes up to snark people but she's enjoying her vacation in peace right now : )

CANON MUSES x1

Have you ever written a canon muse that you first thought of ‘meh’ when they appeared in their canon show/movie/book?

don't shoot me but before i wrote yagen toushirou for touken ranbu i was like "yeah yeah okay this is just a standard big brother x cool doctor type trope," i actually didn't even pick him up until i wanted to try someone new and my other friends (playing other swordboys at the time) suggested him

then i had to research him and really fell in love with the dichotomy of his character, about how he's very human with his brothers but also 100% a weapon and embraces that fact, about the juxtaposition of DUTY vs. FEELING and the HUMAN HEART vs. OBJECT/TOOL he's been balancing all his life on a very fine line (and does flawlessly, because he's yagen) and i was like, heck! this is gonna be so fun to RP and make him deal with stuff

tho most of the time i got into crack threads again and shipping with Fudou it was still very very fulfilling and im glad my friends convinced me to try him out :D

Do you have developed dynamics with the OC of another mun that has influenced your OC or Canon muse?

yeah I mean this guy wouldn't exist without Jade's Klaus u know? his template might've been taken from his faceclaim guy but the rest of him i molded to fit Jade's OC, specifically his personality and to an extent his looks. in some ways Klaus has everything Aurelius lacks and vice versa, they have this classic balancing scales thing going on that i like very much and try to fill intentionally.

i also wanna say Klaus is one of the few windows to Aurelius' genuine gentle/good side, the side he might have been all the time if his father didn't screw him up from birth (of course i can't say his dad is all to blame, but he sure takes 60~75% of the blame).

as for developed dynamics im guessing this is asking about interactions with another OC that influenced this one...why do i feel like they've all been humbling experiences... Issy has shown him some humans are worth treating with care, Constantine has demonstrated how not everyone takes his shit, Dar is there to inspire working business relationships while highlighting Aury's awkward aspects fitting in, Huey undos all the good work everyone else puts in by proving how crappy some humans act, etc.

idk how to answer that part aside from "they help subvert expectations, but i don't know if that's enough to actually change the way he acts" why did i pick this Q the second part's hard to answer hahah

Who was your first OC?

time to get embarrassing so my first OC with an actually established backstory and stuff was this girl with a randomnly generated Japanese name i thought was pretty (Saikoubi) for a digimon RP group

and i intentionally gave her a happy-go-lucky personality and positive outlook because looking at the rest of the applicants everyone was like either emo or orphaned or both and my 14-year-old self was like "well! how are we going to save the world as digidestined if we're sad all the time" and basically made her the complete opposite of everyone else

it was rad, people got to be edgy, she got to be sunny, we didn't really get past the first region between our threads before the group died down but i think we all had fun and that's what matters in the end xD

What is your favorite fandom in which you write?

i still like touken ranbu but it's more fun to write (RP) that when other swordboys are around, plus the fandom's so saturated with new swordboys these days it's hard to keep up with latest lore stuff. i still try to write 1 fanfic for it in the annual xmas secret santa thing the english-speaking fans host, tho i'm very very slow these days

beyond that i've been dipping into FFXIV fic writing a few times but i haven't grasped the language of the world well enough yet so i'm not satisfied with my work ehhh it is what it is for now

Do you plot a ship or see where it goes?

it's more fun to see where a ship goes because i like unpredictability. like the unscripted stuff feels more genuine to me especially if it surprises me u know? i do acknowledge the value of a well-planned romance but in a fall first vs. fall harder relationship i'm definitely invested more in the "fall harder and beautifully in all the disastrous ways" kinda person

i think that's how my past ships have generally gone, finding a connection between 2 muses, expanding on it, referencing it, and then boom! one day you know so much more about the other muse and you're always thinking about them and wait, what, we're hanging out together? just the two of us? is this a DATE? kinda revelations are very fun

What are you looking for in a ship?

i enjoy ships with room to develop. like it's cute when they come together and are all kiss kiss/blush blush but the process to getting there is half the fun! and the pining. and maybe a little misunderstanding here and there.

uhhhh i guess what im saying is i like the journey to get to the ship even more than the ship itself sometimes

or if we're in a ship let's go crash the boat for fun!!

I've been writing recreationally since I was about 18 (that's twenty years ago this May, I may need a sick bucket). I started off with fanfiction for certain much-loved fandoms of mine - Mass Effect and Sleepy Hollow to be specific - and then graduated to RPing on tumblr in about...ohh I'd say 2012-ish. I love the freedom writing gives me, the people I can meet - both mun-wise and in writing too. I love the world building, the explorations of character, the ability to weave whatever paths and places I (and my writing partners) choose. It's freeing, lets me forget the real world for a while, and lets me explore places, people, things and happenings I never would encounter in real life.

     “Life in HOME had never been easy. Tranquility and attrition always came hand in hand. NAME’s headspace and thoughts were all organized in neat boxes, sorted and labelled to pick and discard in the midst of a nebulous space in between. The ones tossed away were never truly gone, the material worn-down in a way that meant misuse, but still held together by never-fading snaps in time and enough feelings to drown in if he wasn’t careful. PLACE was never a box; it’d be a fool’s errand to cage nearly decades chockfull of memories when he never meant to forget about them in the first place. It was a gradual thing, but the moment he woke up safe and warm with a roof over his head that wasn’t made of stalagmite, no longer afraid of the darkness that lurked in the safe walls of too-expensive material, NAME knew. He would give his life for this place.”

     “In PLACE, there is no stronger scent than that of freshly spilled blood. It permeates through the burning cold, and for NAME it is the single memory that rings in his mind like no other. He can taste it on his tongue, feel the tangy aftertaste on a single smack of his lips as his body relaxes preemptively for a fight. It's an instinctive reaction, one bred by the horrorterrors and nurtured later by his own will. NAME would compare it to vodka; both ignite the same spark of anticipation singing underneath his skin.  NAME could feel the beginnings of laughter bubbling in his chest. If he were to "help" now, this would be a lovely piece of blackmail; maybe he would be snagging that one long-con mission right under COWORKER’s nose. "Let's see... Why don't I help you out a little, friend?" In a flash of steel, NAME carefully measured the strength of his shot. He didn't want to kill his unsuspecting accomplice. This guy was his ticket outside, after all.”

     “When NAME opens his eyes, sunlight is streaming out of the window. Gentle amber spills across his sheets in a soft glow; the more he stares at it, the more something as pure and bright loses its touch with reality in his mind. If haven were to exist in pockets and small moments, this would be one of his. Seconds tick by and he gets restless.

Radio static. Morning calm...

It’s all white noise.

He can't tell seconds apart from minutes anymore, there are no clocks in his room. Instead, he knows it’s time to get up when his hands start to tremble. His fingers twitch and curl around the sheets, dislodging the calm. The world fades back into awareness from his safe haven in bits and pieces.

Leaves rustle, his heart beats. Slow breaths, sheets crease.

He’s awake now.

Gentle breeze runs through his veins, echoing in his bones and between his fingers like crossing hollow caverns and mountain peaks. His posture sways as he sits like a baby deer and it's both frustrating and familiar. His body feels weak today again as if it can barely move without taking a gargantuan effort to articulate all of his muscles and joints the right way.

It's one of those days again.”
