You may have noticed I've been wearing it a lot. I'll tell you why...

I have always been a curvy, soft girl. Squishy even. Always had a big tummy, and it makes me SOOOOO self-conscious. The only time I was "skinny" aka 150 lbs was when I was going through my divorce, and I simply wasn't eating. I was depressed and not sleeping a lot. Unhealthy.

I'm training myself to understand that this is my body and it's ok. Yesterday I ordered a Mudvayne crop hoodie so you'll be seeing that one soon too 😆

But I'm just tired of trying to aspire to get my body to be something it just isn't. I will never be skinny. What I will be? Happy, comfortable in my own skin, and proud of my body. It's not easy all the time, but I'm trying, and that's a start 🥰

liam can i pls ask you a question. i am a person who listens to metal and has listened to metal for most of my life, including classic 80s metal but now i listen to more like deathcore stuff. it KILLS me when people in fics describe 80s metal as “screaming” or something like “how do you even know what they’re saying??” bc to me 80s metal is very clear and barely harsh speaking!! like master of puppets (which i’m sure is a lot of peoples reference point for fic writing) is so intelligible and clear! am i biased bc i’m used to it or do people just hear “metal” and use contemporary connotations ahistorically?

I think that people confuse metal with screamo a lot? ESPECIALLY 80s Metal bc 80s Metal is a lot more synonymous with hard rock? It really depends on what you're talking about like if you get into the subgenres there is some that is just screaming, but not Eddie's general subgenres

Eddie tends to be into heavy metal and doom metal based on the bands that he likes and the bands CC has on their shirts, and both of those subgenres are pretty clear and distinct? Doom metal especially. Overall I think that a lot of people just don't actually listen to the music, bc if they gave it a shot they might really enjoy it!

Now as far as 'how do you know what they're saying' I think I've used that question in my fics occasionally but solely for Steve and more as a nod to my fave head canon of HOH Steve because what I DO think is accurate is that the vocals in metal aren't the sole focus.

The cool thing about metal is that the entire band really is equal in focus a lot (I mean think bout how important guitar and drum and bass solos are in so many famous metal songs) but that means that vocals are mixed in with a lot of heavy instrumentals, and as someone that has audio processing issues, it CAN be hard for me to hear what is being sung sometimes on the first few go arounds. I think Steve might say things like that, but it's not really the music, and more his hearing issues.
