thank you! aegon literally got everything taken from him, it was established that he had three joys in life: to ride sunfyre, to have sex and to drink. he thinks his beloved dragon is dead, he won’t ever be able to lay with a woman or sire any children, and now he is even denied a drink when he asks for it. he is all alone, his son is dead, his family sold him out and his friends are gone. and the writers still won’t give his character the respect it deserves.

honestly i don’t even want to quote that sausage line because to me it is so utterly disrespectful and unfunny and humiliating to both the character and the actor, i cannot.

it immediately reminded me of theon/ramsay torture porn, but this is so much worse to me. because they make the victim talk about his own injuries and pain in this derogatory manner.

they make aegon talk about his own genitalia that way. as if he, given the fact that he is suffering greatly, as is so vividly described and continually shown at any possible moment, would actually talk about it that way.

he COULD have addressed this. he could have confided in larys. he could have explained how it affects him, how he can never have another (male) heir which actually is a great deal since maelor does not exist on the show.

he could have explained how he mourns never getting to lie with a woman again, because yes, that was important to him (don’t start with that rapist storyline, i’ll delete/block so fast, you won’t be able to blink first) which is human and doesn’t have to demonized.

he could have explained how it messes with his already destroyed sense of self-worth. he could have explained how he wants those who have wronged him to pay for their crimes.

but instead we got that.

as if aegon’s character hadn’t been humiliated enough this season.

a dragonrider who cherishes his beloved dragon and apparently wouldn’t know how to ride it properly. a protagonist whose significance is pushed aside for his mother, so the viewers get a childhood love story (remember the promo pictures…) instead of what it should have been from the very start; a war between siblings.

no, apparently this was not enough. apparently, we needed another comical line at the expense of aegon’s dignity. thanks for nothing.

I'm starting to really understand the people that say sky is becoming way too cosmetic based. this was already something I had as a complaint about sky since everything revolves around money to some capacity but the fact that the season just ended and days of style began IMMEDIATELY after really shows how tgc is just trying to shove events in our face all the time. I just stopped doing dailies for one day because i could finally take a break after unlocking everything in the season and now you're telling me i already have to go back and do it again?

don't get me wrong i love days of style but cmon couldn't you have just waited a couple days or so?? give us a break smh

I recently got back from Argylle and AHHHHHH I had a huge smile on my face for like 70% of the movie.

It was dumb (affectionate) at some points, but that's what made it fun. I feel like Matthew Vaughn understands that movies shouldn't always be realistic or have to make sense. Just enjoy what's in front of you.

Maybe I'm oblivious, but I didn't foresee many of the twists. Though to be fair, like most things I just watch and see what happens...

The humour was perfect for me. It was the kinda shit that makes you chuckle as you shake your head, but not burst out laughing (although I'm not averse to that type of humour).

Ahem I'm super interested in how Vaughn will tie together the three franchises, because we have actors that have played various characters (except some of their characters are dead).

As for the production of the movie, Brad Allen (RIP) being on there was really nice to see.

Now, I've never met the man, but fucking Carlos Peres (AKA Bedivere) in the first part of the credits as executive producer, made me so proud??? If you didn't know (please note I just like to look at the credits), in Kingsman TSS, he was simply a Kingsman Knight. Then Kingsman TGC, a Kingsman Knight and production consultant. The King's Man, a co-producer. Vaughn's friends/colleagues are lucky fuckers.

I didn't stay til the end of the credits (the employees were eyeing me to leave so they could clean), but I think it's really nice they include the number of jobs supported and mention the hard work put into making such a production, at least for Kingsman 2 and The King's Man.

I know critics take things way too seriously and I will never ever listen to them but this quote makes me laugh: "Argylle [...] ultimately wears out its welcome with a convoluted plot and overlong runtime." (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argylle) Man, if they think that was convoluted, they haven't seen the DrakeNier universe, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, etc.

I need more instances of the dragonshow being dreadfully unserious in the next season. The source material is absurd on so many historical and narrative points; and the show is equally as ridiculous with the hamfised imagery and complete disregard for a coherent timeline (how old is everyone actually???)

On both sides I see people debating and ridiculing one another as though they’re actually Westerosi citizens who will be personally affected by the outcome of the war. Calm down the lot of you

It doesn’t have to turn into a comedy or anything but I just need more moments which make it clear that the fantasy incest dragonshow is just that and fantasy, and no one needs to be called a cunt for their preferences or opinions.

For example, give TGC Aegon’s stupid little mustache at least for minute before Alicent demands he shaves, include a 10 minute sequence of Aemond’s GRWM where he’s straightening his hair with ye olde hot iron, have Jace proselytize to Cregan and ask if he’s heard of their lords and saviours The Seven (this is important actually because I think people on AO3 and Twitter have forgotten the Targaryens don’t actually follow a different religion), give us Rhaenyra’s fuck ass banner and have it be designed by Joffrey using some crayons. Just anything that tells the audience this is your cue to calm your tits mmkay.

I appreciate in-depth textual analysis as much as the next person but really this team business and the amount of vitriol has me smh.

What, if any, more light hearted moments would you want to see in the next season ???

He is supposed to be like 20 and I was worried they were gonna try and make him like Ned but NOPE. I liked how they tried to kind of tie in the GOT Stark’s with him but I wish we saw a bit more

The writers are cowards and you can tell. B&C was Daemons idea. It was HIS idea for HIS son. Although, much as Team Green talks shit about Daemon, I’m also kinda glad they changed B&C to him ordering Aemond’s death.

And speaking of…sigh. So sigh. B&C was so…underwhelming. If they were trying to spark sympathy for Team Green then they did a horrible job at it because WHAT WAS THAT?? Helaena not even putting up a fight? Just straight selling Jahaerys out like damn girl it’s like that?? AND WHERE was Maelor?

Aegon and Aemond of course can go fuck themselves as usual. Them trying to make it seem like Aegon would’ve been a good king is laughable like be SO fucking for real

Overall, I did feel a little bit bad for Helaena but it’s still team black. I hated how they cut out the feast Aegon threw to celebrate Luke’s death. It adds a whole new layer as to why the Greens will never be in the right, if it wasn’t obvious already. ALSO, I cannot wait to see those fuckers realize that most of the realm wants Rhaenyra and not *what did Daemon say?* oh yeah, a drunken usurper cunt of a king

Them trying to make it seem like Aegon cares about his son when they haven’t even mentioned he has a son until the plot calls for it…sigh. I love TGC but you can definitely tell it’s HIM smiling and acting all cute towards Jahaerys, not Aegon if that makes sense.

Lastly, Lady Misery has always been Team Black and I wish they’d stop making it seem like nobody was on Rhaenyra’s side. Majority of the fucking realm fought for her it and they’re making it seem like she’s so alone. I also feel like they’re trying to use her grief as a reason she shouldn’t rule while trying to make Aegon seem “good” and I don’t like that

Let’s see what next week’s episode brings but hopefully the rest of the season is more…exciting

People are speculating that Ewan is just "not a very good actor" and blaming that for why he's not getting roles (which obviously has now been proven untrue) and it's like...then why are you here??? No. I don’t at all. TGC closed because it wasn’t making enough money, and the Tonys had no negative effect on the TGC’s gross. If you don’t believe me, here are the actual stats:

According to Playbill, n the week before the Tony Awards (May 28-June 4), TGC made a total of $1,171,000. In the week after the Tony Awards (June 11-18), TGC made $1,319,000. TGC made more money in the week after the Tony Awards than it did before, despite not winning Best Musical. (It’s interesting to note that DEH, which ended up winning Best Musical, actually lost money after the Tonys, going from $1,254,000 in the week before to $1,247,000 the week after).

The Tonys are important, but in no way did TGC close because of one awards show. Why did it close then? Simple. Look at the numbers before and after the departure of Josh Groban. The week before Groban (June 18-25) TGC made $1,353,000. The week after, only $890,000. Josh Groban’s departure had an absurd effect on the show’s gross. 

Saying that it closed because of losing one award ignores the actual statistics. It didn’t close because of the Tonys. Maybe, if it had won, it would’ve run a little bit longer, but not much. All the show’s issues wouldn’t have disappeared if it had won. It doesn’t work like that. TGC closed because of ridiculous amount of emphasis placed on Josh’s role and part in it, among other production and management-based errors, which lead to a dramatic decrease in income. Just look at the numbers.
