#detective conan #case closed #amv #my amvs #eye strain #heiji hattori #harley hartwell #conan edogawa #shinichi kudo #funimation english dub script #video #happy two-year anniversary to 'no thoughts just heiji hattori'!#while it's not my first amv (it's maybe my... fifth?)#it was the first one i made with davinci resolve and the amv that really got me into editing amvs for real #it's the amv that made me believe i could make amvs 🥺#and in remastering it i deeply understood how ambitious it was! i thought i did a lot of audio mixing for 'messed up'#but that's not even close to all the audio mixing i did here--cannot believe that i did all this for my first big amv project #it took about 20 hours *just* to remaster!#which is something i've been meaning to do for a while now so i'm very happy to finally share the results!#to make this a 'remaster' and not a 'redo' the only changes i tried to make were to the source footage and audio #video now uses almost entirely hd remastered footage from my blu-rays or netflix rather than my dvds #but oh gosh was it *hard* not to touch anything else! i'd do so many things differently now #but this video will always be really special to me (and i can't believe i did it at all tbh!)#i hope seeing it in hd is fun too! i'm so blown away by all the love this vid's gotten #and that it helped increase interest in funi's old english dub is amazing and 100% what i was trying to do with it!#thank you everyone for all the support <333 i wouldn't be the video editor i am today without this vid or your encouragement for it <3333 #like the original the sources used are mostly from what funi dubbed (but mixed in hd by me!): eps 48-49 57-58 77-78 117 and 118 and movie 3 #but i also used episodes 141-142 174 189 239 263 277 291 293 345 479 491 517 and 522 #and ova 3 and tv special 6 (episode one) and movies 10 and 13 and ops 27 31 and 33 and the funi 5.2 dvd blooper for the one line lol #the song is 'you're stupid aren't you' by toshio masuda (from jubei-chan 2)

This is a little project that I worked on in the last weeks, and I finally finished it.

The Japanese dub is my favorite, but the Italian one was the one that made me discover Zexal, and I used to watch the show in Italian until the third arc.

I watched the episodes from the first two arcs in this dub many times and I'm still very attached to most of the characters' Italian voices.

This dub is very dear and nostalgic to me, so I wanted to share some Astral's clips from it on my blog.

But I didn't want to put a bunch of Italian clips here without any kind of subtitles, so I decided to do the subtitles myself. But what should have been just a few clips became all Astral's scenes in the first two episodes, and it took me more time than I anticipated.

Just a few things before you watch the video:

- I tried to do this translation more literally possible (so I apologize if some lines sound weird), but with some phrases and expressions I had to translate them in a not literal way to keep their meaning.

- The edit of the video is a little rough because I favored the audio over the video and I tried not to cut the lines too much. And since I only used Astral's clips, some transactions between scenes are not very smooth, I apologize about that.

- I hope that the subtitles are easy to read, I never did something like this and I did my best to make them readable and not too fast.

- I rewatched it several times to check it, but it's very possible that there's still some errors or/and weird phrasing, so I apologize in advance for any errors.

After all those premises, here is the finished work:

#I'm so happy to have finally finished it!#This little project was more tiring than I expected #but I'm happy with the result #It's not perfect but I did my best #Once again I apologize for any errors #I have to admit that I'm very nervous about publishing this but I've gathered the courage to do it #because I love this dub and I worked very hand on this #I'm also very tired of working on this and now that it is published I can work on other things #the unreadable thing on the left is the name of the blog: I wanted to put it as a sort of watermark #but since I had to put the quality on the minimum it became unreadable #anyway I really love this dub #I remember very clearly watching Zexal on TV every day #and I watched the episodes from the first arc so many times that I knew a lot of lines by heart #even now after years I remember many of them #Astral and Yuma's voices especially are very dear and nostalgic to me #and I'm very happy every time I hear them #I really hope you all like this and thanks for watching it!#astral zexal #astral yugioh #yuma tsukumo #kotori mizuki #tetsuo takeda #yu gi oh zexal #yugioh zexal #ygo zexal #zexal

#video #elevenlabs #i've been fucking obsessed with these stupid fucking elevenlabs dubbed videos #specifically a friend sent me a ytp sexer dub and i absolutely lost it (laughing)#so i wanted to try a few videos out myself to see what the site would do with them #for some reason my first thought was to use bozo dubbed over #''i... i...... i.... ah..... i hope nobody leaves'' fucking killed me #i only did like 5 videos to see what it'd end up generating but usually if the audios too clear it'll just repeat what was said #except in the ai voices that it uses #the second video i did was just bozo dubbed over again. but that version is like really evil for no reason #third video was hotel mario high quality. and it basically says what they already say but with weird annunciations and the likes #fourth video being meet the sniper. it wasnt exactly what i wanted but it did alter a few lines #the final one just being hotel mario again but lower quality. which did result in me laughing really hard #granted. all of them made me laugh really hard to some extent #for the record. i didnt do any alterations except just make it dub from english to english #i don't know if there's more you can do with it. i don't think i can make any more without making a new account #unless the limit resets every week or so

There are only two episodes left in The Boys S4, but having seen the leaks and with what we got, I have some opinions.

My conspiracy theory is that they got too many cooks in the kitchen (writers in the writer’s room)—plus the writer’s strike and pandemic happening during this time—and it’s starting to make sense how they dropped the ball with this season.

#the boys #the boys tv #the boys amazon #the boys season 4 #the boys season four #S1-3 is like a sharp honed blade (with occasional misses) whereas S4 swings a lot but misses their target #I like a handful of things (Antony Starr and Karl Urban are CARRYING the season for me)#God; Antony’s back must hurt from carrying the show so hard (give the man an Emmy)#but there are so many more moments in the show that falls flat for me #my interest in the secondary cast is virtually nonexistent (and this is coming from a person who likes them all)#I do not care about Joe; I do not care about the Frenchie & Colin B-plot; I do not care about Annie’s randomly thrown in abortion (???)#there’s a lotta wasted character moments and unnecessary fluff they should’ve cut out to laser focus in on the main plot #the character moments do not hit as hard as the writers hoped they did (it feels like they just threw random darts & hoped they hit)#this season feels like a waste of time :/ which is unfortunate #I like edgy dark humor & satire as the next guy—but it’s gotta advance the plot or be used for a purpose other than shock value #it doesn’t help that you get the sense a couple script decisions is a result of Kripke wanting to work with ppl he wants to work with again #which—fair enough; it’s his show—he can do whatever he wants #but I get a weird feeling when he throws in celebrity cameos & their B-plots instead laserfocusing on the main characters #I hope they tighten the story in the final season 5 #they focused too much on the wrong things and not on the right things (seriously?? not showing Butcher taking the V??? making it offscreen?)#and the tentacles instead of making Butcher’s powers ironically parallel the very man he hates :/#the obvious Venom symbiote parody is not as funny or cool as you think it is (when you had a VERY cool premise before)

ummm. my fic is done.

#I mean it still needs a bit of editing but like after almost four months #the hell (writing) is finally over #it's clocking in at around 61k words rn and im tired #time to relax ((cry))#actually you know what. fuck it I'm gonna overshare about this a bit.#I've never written fic before #and besides that - this is the first thing I've sat down to write seriously in about ten years #and ten years ago I was just writing poetry and papers for college #(I don't mean 'just' in a bad way - I only mean that it's been a very different experience for me personally)#very protective over this fic in that it's been sitting in my lap and in my brain for a few months and I don't want to give too much away #so I've deliberately been vague with the marketing of it. because I want people to read and be surprised and experience it firsthand.#and I know it's supposed to be self-indulgent and writing should be about the process and not the results but #I hope people read it???
