Begging people to learn that fetishization is a specific form of dehumanization that sees the target primarily as a (often sexual) tool for somebody to achieve their own goal. A person who fetishizes somebody will often not recognize somebody's humanity because they are primarily focused on their own desires.

Fetishization is not when somebody likes a person (especially a marginalized group). Fetishization is not when a person in an out group sees a marginalized person as an equal and appreciates them as an equal. It is not dehumanization for somebody to treat a marginalized person like an autonomous person who can make their own decisions.

It leaves a very bad taste in my mouth when people assume that the only reason you can be "into" a marginalized person is that you want to dehumanize or ultimately abuse them. It sends the message that our marginalization is preventing us from "truly" being seen as a person from anybody. You aren't placing the blame on systems of power, you are punishing marginalized people for their marginalization.

something about writing fiction makes me feel so humiliated and stupid like ohhh hahar look at me i create a fake world and fake characters that engage in complex conflicts and love each other but SYKE its actually all me. its all just me. someone with no actual life whatsoever

also trying to explain worldbuilding to people without looking deranged “oh yeah this is the Snoopum where the Smorgasums go every Sormomorm” and then you get that blank stare + awkward grimace smile from people 😀

and it’s even worse if it’s closer to reality “this is Bob Nanders and he lives in a share house in Attard Malta and he feels this way about inflation” like im going to throw up who the fuck is Bob Nanders. go die

You know, something that's been healing in ways I never really anticipated was buying secondhand books.

I have a physiology textbook that has the name Ernest written in beautiful cursive on the inside cover. Throughout the book, passages are highlighted, and I wonder: What is the difference between a passage underlined in red pen and one highlighted in yellow? Did he have a system, or did he use whatever was around him at the time? What kind of courses did he take? I wonder what he did after his degree... what if he became a renowned physiologist? Or, what if he abandoned everything to run away to chase dreams he knew were unwise?

It's something small you don't really think about, but there really is something holy about not being the first. This book isn't just the sum of knowledge anymore, it's become a love letter, with a completely separate story attached. That's something I will keep with me forever. We have always been here. We will pass down a tiny bit of ourselves no matter how long it has been. We will yet live.

the only pheaseble explanation i have for the new eps is that they had an entirley different writing team for the rest of the show. then they just last minute brought on different people for just these two episodes and only had them watch the other eps of fionna & cake, and then told them to create an ending based soley on that. and gave them a terrible, very short deadline.

reasons why I don't ship delena their relationship was full of abuse of friends/ non consent/ acting out whenver his feelings got hurt by attempting to kill her/her brother.

elena falling for him is just bad writing. katherine leading him /stefan selling his soul to klaus to save damons ass. on shouldn't =forget all the abuse he puts her friends/her through.. s4/5 has such asinine writing

it's the one where they had him call fiddleford a hayseed. like, really? it just sounds like they wanted to use his lashing out to make him pick on his BEST FRIEND that he has ENDLESSLY COMPLIMENTED FOR HIS BRILLIANCE to make ford seem like he is deep down the kind of guy to poke at someone's upbringing and call them stupid. he's not a bully????
