🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?

I would say any moment or interaction in which it becomes apparent that a character thinks they're not good enough (Dean Winchester, anyone??) 🥺 It's such a universal experience, everyone feels that way at some point, and it's just so heartbreaking to think about 💔

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

When it comes to feels, it's definitely an angsty undertone that I find myself incorporating a lot. I don't mean to, it just happens 🙈🖤 Then there are common metaphors, like waves, sun beams etc. 🌊☀️ When it comes to smut, I like to incorporate scenes in which the characters ask each other for/give their clear consent ❤️

✍ Do you have a beta reader?

No, I don't have one. I love talking about story ideas to fellow writers, but I do the editing all by myself 😊 So, all mistakes are my own 😁 I've done beta reading before, though 🤓

🧐 Do you spend much time researching for your stories?

Yes! 😂 And it's not even fun stuff a lot of the time. Because I'm not a native English speaker, I tend to obsess over phrasing, grammar, tenses, figures of speech, synonyms and everything that has to do with language, so I do a lot of research on that 🧐 I know that I make mistakes despite my efforts, but I'm trying my best 😊

Good Lord, this is hard 🙈 I think I'd give myself a compliment for writing with my heart and paying a lot of attention to details to make my stories consistent ✨ Picture me sitting in front of a fully edited WIP at two a.m., reading it 20 more times to spot any detail that doesn't make sense 😂

🌞 Do you have a preferred time of day to write?

i think the morning is the best time because everything is quiet, but i also find it hard to write when i know i have lots of things to do that day, so i sometimes don't start until much later. which is also a bummer because i like to sprint with people and if i wait too long everybody else is alseep. time zones are stupid 😢

❌ What's a trope you will never write?

i feel like as soon as i answer this i'll suddenly be struck with inspiration for whatever trope i say i'll never write. there's plenty of tropes that bug me and i avoid, but sometimes i'm like "what if i tried to write this trope and make it not terrible?" sooooo... i should make that an ask game. "send me a cringey trope and i'll tell you how i would write it" sounds like a fun challenge.

but i feel pretty confident i'll stay away from pregnancy tropes because pregnancy kinda freaks me out and it's hard to avoid the, you know, pregnancy part of pregnancy tropes

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

yes

(it depends on the fic honestly, usually i have some chaotic form of an outline but sometimes the outline is just "prompt" + "and then they kiss the end." other times it's more involved.)

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?

Currently, I'd say Make Way for Ducklings is a pretty wild ride, mostly because like you all, I'm not entirely sure where we are going anymore 😂

I guess I'm pretty pleased with how I am able to, for the most part, consistently update *something* every Tuesday. I am ALSO really proud of myself that I haven't given up on the January OTP prompts yet - does that count?

✅ What's something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don't mean to?

I was going to make a joke and say Fictional!Matty being miserable and full of angst but idk if I would call that an accident. I guess one thing that kept reoccurring that I then decided to make an actual thing that I included on purpose, is Fictional!Matty getting horribly car sick, and that is based on my own life experiences. Another one that I didn't even realize, and was an accident that I did not mean to keep including is that Fictional!Matty has broken his wrist many times in many of my fics, or a previously broken wrist is mentioned. I didn't even realize it until my Bestie pointed it out to me, because she thought that it was based on an actual IRL Matty event and I had to awkwardly explain I was once again projecting my trauma onto Fictional!Matty 😂 (I broke my wrist when I was a kid and now have this weird slightly irrational fear that it's going to happen again, I have a few permanent bracelets on one wrist, one that can probably be cut off with scissors and the other that is a whole process to unlock and I am so terrified I'm going to fall off my horse, break my wrist, and be screaming at my trainer to get the bracelets off before my hand swells... luckily I broke my OTHER hand in 2021 so the bracelets weren't an issue lol)

Really wow that’s faster !! Also omgg you’ve seen criminal minds!? It’s one of my favourite crime type shows💜 and being part of the bau would be super interesting !!! I had googled it though and apparently the irl bau is more of desk work and stuff and they rarely actually go to crime scenes and stuff but the shows portrayal >>> also do you have a fave from the show ?

I think I just got done with that part where he comes and gives her the book and all ? Unless they meet again ! But I’m really happy that he was able to make her go back to Yale and that her and lorelai were normal again because I couldn’t believe for how long they let the fight go on between them ! And yess Logan does have a good character arc 💖!

i did!! it's one of my favourite shows as well, look at us go!!🤭 i think you're right, and as far as i know you need to be an american citizen to work in the fbi?? this might be false, but it's not that surprising that the tv show exaggerated what they do in the bau👀

yeah i think it was that part where he kind of loses it (it's so hilarious), but i loved the book scene so much!! and seeing jess do something he was passionate about made me real happy🥹🥹 and rory going back to yale and getting her mojo back is just a relief to watch, because the character she turns into when she drops out was not my favourite🙃🙃

i think i was one of those kids in high school but as you get older it's hard to do everything all at once, so you start picking and choosing things you're actually interested in and things that might be beneficial for you, but i'm so glad you enjoyed working in the library, it does sound very fun🩷🩷🩷

idk when I'll have time to watch yellowjackets but it's been on my list for forever, I'm sure I will eventually! personalized vans are so cute, those sound really special 😊 for me it's probably my rings, I have one that I got to make myself which was super cool and one of those little wave ones, buying it was basically the last fun thing I did before the pandemic. I only know english!! I've studied a bunch of languages, but none really stuck, I didn't start young enough to have a good head for languages unfortunately. I never got into euphoria either tbh, my friends were telling me about it and how wild it was kinda turned me off of it honestly. I agree the looks are iconic though 😂
