sometimes, life is truly dreadful. just really, really awful! but then there are FRIENDS, and STORIES, and with them, the suggestion that perhaps the bleak may not be so daunting, nor so lonely, as previously thought!!

#you'll have to bear w me on this one it's bordering cheesy I know #i'm in quite the predicament health wise and running on very very limited sleep #but the ethos is there #life can be sooo super awful ! just not great stuff ! and then there are FRIENDS #and STORIES #and NATURE #and it doesn't assuage All Of This #but in the absolute horrors and fears of life's varying predicaments- there is no comfort like it #the past week I've just been wrapping myself up in stories and fiction and the well wishes of my friends #I am BARELY staying out of hospital atm so things will genuinely get a bit quiet here while I simply . well yknow #live and such #love u all #wishing us delightful spring days #3 #<3 #thoughts

Right at the very beginning of 2x01, when Ava gets to the bar late for her shift and Hans tells her she’s late? And her reply is “my roommate forgot to set the alarm” and Hans’ reply is that super sarcastic “yeah, okay”

The somewhat hidden layer here is Ava incorrectly uses the masculine form of “my roommate” - mein mitbewohner instead of meine mitbewohnerin

So maybe Ava just has bad beginner German (highly possible) but also maybe her German is decent and she’s trying to hold up some ridiculous cover story about her and Beatrice not living together. Except Hans has 0% fallen for any of this and clearly knows who actually runs Ava’s life schedule and now it’s turned into an inside joke because Bea still doesn’t want to break the cover story

#so as it turns out I've been learning german for the better part of 2022 and it just lucked out to make this scene even a tiny bit funnier #and his reaction when he sends ava up to talk to 'the boss' and then also comes in like that when they're up there alone?#adkfjhskdfjhsd he is absolutely sure there's something going on between them and ava knows and isn't changing her behavior at ALL #also I wonder if she could have picked up a basic level of quite a few languages just watching tv shows #and btw Hans is basically IMMEDIATELY vindicated because it’s what?#the next day that Ava talks Beatrice (while she is at the Height of Uptight) into staying at their workplace to get drunk for the first time #and they literally spend an entire evening wrapped up in doing shots and dancing together and being super touchy #warrior nun #they're fucking idiots in love #avatrice

While it was.. not great to have to leave home before 6 this morning in order to get one of the few trains that are going despite the strike (plus the usual bauarbeiten), the upside is that I have some time to work on my end of year fic list while sitting at a nice cafe with a coffee and a pistachio croissant 😌

#another upside: i did not fall with my bike on the way to the station #despite part of the path being a slab of ice #tbh i was hesitant about making a list this year #because of well...#because what does it really matter? who cares?#ehm yeah i've been feeling like in general i'm not adding anything to the fandom #no fun thoughts or insightful character studies #not much writing either #but then this is my blog #i know i don't have to *add* anything--it's okay to be here just to enjoy myself #and i do enjoy going through fic again and rereading bits and pieces #it's a lovely way to wrap up the year #so! there will be a list!

About Laurie’s body language around Erik

Laurie usually projects assertiveness and composure.

Have you ever noticed how different his body language is whenever he’s alone with Erik?

From the moment he starts pushing Erik away...

...and every time he actually needs comfort or reassurance...

...Laurie is always physically turning away from Erik, avoiding to look him in the eye.

Just generally avoidant, in fact.

I mean, he’s nervously twiddling the carpet in this scene. He usually hides very well that he’s a walking bundle of nerves and he’s never been that obvious.

He can’t seem to stand looking at the guy but he takes it very badly when Erik’s not looking at him. Talk about moody...

Arms crossed, looking away. His whole attitude screams defensiveness.

The only times he meets Erik’s gaze straight on, he gives him a defiant look. As if he knew he’s losing control on his emotions and needed to reassert himself.

But whenever Erik takes him by surprise, he’s the only recipient of Laurie’s rare moments of raw vulnerability.

Be it moved...

...heartbroken...

...frustrated...

...or hurt.

He may entirely miss the truth behind those meaningful gazes because Laurie’s little dance with him is so frigging confusing.

Laurie, you slippery creature... just how long are you going to fake it, huh?

the writing has been good during the break, and i am knee deep in plenty of things right now that i plan to return with !! knee deep enough that i'm willing to share a bit more about them. i originally wasn't going to mention them until i fully returned, but i like where i am with many of them !! and therefore — almost want a bit of guidance on what to wrap up first !!

#kr saber lb #kr lb #umbrella.thoughts #umbrella.posts #the way kento was taking care of the store for touma...#the way he ran so fast to hug him when he returned #the way he was all smiles as soon as touma reached him #but of course he has to be wearing those pants just can't let them go can they #i think storious was wrapped up well i mean he saw them create a new story which was what he needed to get clarity #every megid death ended with them seeing what they wanted before passing on #once they pass on they seem to lose the immense anger they had so it seems that they were all distorted by the books power and they're #really a bit more level-headed now #i like that we get to see storious recall sharing his work with people and that it had meant something to him to though i still feel #he got buried in his despair and lost sight of how stories affect others and his relationships with others and not just him personally #it may have been a little fast but i've seen a lot of final villains and i really like storious' story #also just love everyone i don't think there was any character i really disliked throughout #with reika she made me mad but she was supposed to and she came around although it took a bit #i like her and i like how committed she is to her duty and i love her fight scenes #daishinji ryo and sophia felt like elders so i don't mind them not developing too much bc they feel like they have already grown into #the people that they are meant to be although they do develop a bit more here and there #yuri felt more like a guide for touma and i think he fit his role well while also evolving past his outdated ideas of what a swordsman is #ryoga was not developed too much but with the elders he felt like he knew who he was but for him there was development more in his #willingness to listen and work with others while also dealing with the issues of the guild and looking out for reika #he may not be very open but he has his own strong convictions and he is slowly starting to open up but just starting #rintaro and mei had a lot of good development though i do feel rintaro's stuff came across a bit much at times but in the end he became #a character who chooses to believe in himself and not run away while also protecting those around him when he used to stick to the rules #completely though he still does follow rules he does more of what is right than what is allowed #mei was an observer most of the time although she was also entrusted with tools that were important for the storyline such as the book #i love characters who don't transform and offer support when needed #mei was always expressing belief in the swordsman and offered a lot of help to them
