Oleander: Local unethical scientist that unethicaled a bit too hard when trying to revive his even worse older brother and turned off most of his emotions manually to avoid coping with the mental toil. Sad! Many such cases. Can't feel any emotions other then joy now. Kinda sucks but he certainly doesn't seem to upset about it :)

Simon: Oleadners brother. Kinda. Moreso a robot piloting Oleanders brothers body. Fucking hates Oleander but after Oleander lobotomized himself Simon begrudgingly takes care of him now. Despite his complicated feelings, he's wildly overprotective.

Cybel: A robot Oleander made! They are meant to gather as much information as they possibly can in case some horrible event happens that kills off humanity. is quite literally indestructible. Likes ice cream.

Octavius: I made this guy to be a danganrompa villain back in high school and I succeeded too well. I fucking hate this fake ass bitch

Tabb: This fucking guy. Trapped in a time loop but he doesn't know and its technically not a time loop. Met his (now) husband ages ago but died shortly after meeting him, so he revived Tabb, then the two got married, then Tabb died again so Halt (the husband) revived him again but he lost his memories then halt died and Tabb revived him the Tabb died again so Halt revived him but he lost all his memories so they dated again and got remarried then Tabb died again and you get the idea. Very nice guy, a bit anxious, perfectly normal minus the dying thing. If it wasn't for him losing all his memories and Halt tampering with shit so he was in love with him i uh. Don't think he'd actually like Halt all that much tbh

Halt: Just wants to be happy with his husband :(. Sad he unethicaled all over that science. Hey are you noticinga theme here. Also he's a cat boy but thats really not relevant to his depression issues

Urge: Halts kinda milfy twin sister. Really sick of all of this loop bullshit because she gets to watch her bestie Tabb die repeatedly, so she packed up her bags and left. Russel: A kid that got roped into this whole mess because he walked in on a Tabb revival tube without permission. Sticks around Urge most of the time. Had a bad homelife to put it mildly, so Urge took him in.

In a game about choices, we aren’t even allowed to make any bad decisions with Dylan. Is that a flaw in the game design? Or a sign that some crucial decisions he could have been tasked with hit the cutting room floor with the other 20-30% of the script? Maybe. Does it make me love him for it any less? Absolutely fucking not.

He should be a threat to Kaitlyn, right? He should at least be a little bit pissed off at her, a little bit grumpy before he’s turning. God knows he deserves it. Can you imagine if she’s kissed his crush and he’s stuck with her for the rest of the night? Dylan obviously adores Kaitlyn, and he knows that sticking with her is his best chance at getting out alive, but those emotions would still be complicated, I would think. If the infection brings out hidden insecurities (which seems to be the case for literally everyone else), we should see Dylan grapple with not feeling like his real self is good enough, with wearing a mask for two months and hiding how smart he is and all of that.

I’m not sure why we don’t see that. We know his insecurities aren’t gone because they can come up again when he’s talking about whether Ryan would want to date him with one hand (I’m sobbing internally). The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that he’s no longer hiding that insecurity with the people whose opinions matter the most to him (Ryan and Kaitlyn). So maybe the truth really will set you free (from being a super bitchy werewolf)? I almost wish we did see him go off a bit though. I wish we had at least some kind of chase scene in that scrapyard after he turned. It would give so much more weight to the decision to not cut his hand off, if it put him at risk of mauling his gunslinging bestie, our Final Girl.

But SMG chose for him to remain a golden boy throughout and of course that also has its charms. He has an immutable set of core values and those are being good and selfless, even when he’s terrified. Which is most of the game! And even though he gets braver, he very clearly doesn’t stop being scared! He just does what he has to do anyway. Even if he’s turning into a monster. Even if the boy of his dreams cut his hand off with a chainsaw (because he asked him to). I understand why people make him too perfect in fanfic sometimes because he’s, like, almost too good?

He has his moments early on, like wanting to keep the gun, or wanting to leave Nick and Abi behind in case what attacked them has their scents (tbh these are just his genre-savviness showing and I can’t actually blame him for either). He also gives Kaitlyn some very bad advice relating to silver bullets (kill a werewolf that turns out to be Emma, leave the bullets Abi is trying to give you behind), but she doesn’t have to take it.

But have you SEEN what he does if Emma turns and comes after Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn fails to shoot? He just fucking tackles a werewolf to save Kaitlyn. He puts himself between WereEmma and Kaitlyn like a human shield. If he’s infected, great, Emma sniffs him and leaves him alone but he is clearly shocked by that. He did not know that would happen. And he did it anyway. It was a reflex. And if he’s not infected? If he was never bitten at all or he’s missing a hand? He still does the exact same thing. He can take a second bite to protect Kaitlyn. He can get infected a second time after cutting his fucking hand off. He can die to protect her if she doesn’t manage to get a shot off to save him.

Lots of characters give us the option to be self-sacrificial. Ryan can give Laura the vial of werewolf blood to protect her during the Silas showdown. Jacob can run, barefoot and mostly naked, into the woods when he hears Abi scream. Abi can die by refusing to shoot her crush because she doesn’t know it won’t actually kill Nick if she does. But those are all choices. Dylan does not give us a choice. We’re not even in control when he does that shit. He just does it. Because that’s who he is.

Joel is trying to avoid herTommy goes to the clinic that day and she's not there, which he expects because she's not supposed to be there on Sundays, but hears someone say her name and how they aren't sure how they're going to cover everything without her and there's a "...I still really miss her" at the end and he's like "wtf' and so he asks until he finds someone who will actually talk to him and he's like "no, we're old friends, I just haven't seen her in a few weeks, what happened?" and Marta just kinda looks at him like "how can you not know this" and says "She died. They weren't really sure how, if she did it on purpose or if she passed out but she drowned in her bathtub" and Tommy is, of course, reeling because he loved her, too. But he's also like "Oh fuck I have to tell Joel" and he's kind of in a daze and just walks around the QZ for a few hours and he gets home and Joel is just like "the fuck is your problem" and he's like "Joel... brother, you... I need you to sit down, OK? Need you to just... stay calm for me, OK?" and he says her name and then kinda stops and Joel gets this bad feeling and is like "what" and Tommy is quiet and he's like "what, Tommy. What is it. She fuck up something else, what'd she do, what's going on" and he's just like "She's dead, Joel." and Joel is silent for a minute and then asks what happened and how and Tommy really doesn't want to tell Joel what they told him and so Joel just gets up and Tommy tries to stop him and he's like "Don't fucking touch me" and he goes to Andrew's and he pounds on the door until Andrew answers and Andrew looks like hell, he's lost weight and he looks like he's hardly slept and he looks kind of dead in the eyes until he sees Joel and then he just looks like he wants to just set him on fire and he's like "The fuck are you doing here"

and Joel is like "what happened, you have to know what happened, please, fuck, please tell me what happened to her" and Andrew shoves him and just yells "You! You happened, you fucking happened! She died that night you fucking asshole, she lived for you and she fucking died for you, too. I hope you're fucking happy" and Joel is just practically frozen there and just lets Andrew wail on him for a minute before he looks at him and goes "you must fuckin hate me, right?" "Oh I more than hate you you fucking..." "Good. Kill me. Don't... don't care how just... please, fuck just..." and Andrew just kind of laughs at him darkly and says "No, no I'm not doing you any fucking favors, Miller. I have to live with the fact that I left her alone that night. You get to live with the fact that her blood's on your hands." Jess pulls Andrew back inside and Joel just trudges home but Tommy is kind of waiting for him, he's already stashed all the guns and the knives and he got Tess because he knows what Joel is like when he loses someone like thatand Joel only asked Andrew to do it because he couldn't risk flinching again, he had to do it right this time and he goes for where he keeps his gun as soon as he's in the door and it's gone and Tommy is just crying and he's like "Joel, you can't, I'm sorry..." and he's like "Just give me the fuckin' gun, Tommy! I can't do this, not again, I can't, I can't" and he just drops to his knees and Tommy holds onto him Tommy and Tess take turns, he's literally never alone for months. Eventually they think he can be trusted on his own and he's OK for a while but I think it wouldn't take all that long before he's gone, too it wouldn't be as obvious as a gun, it'd be him making a stupid mistake and getting bit or shot or an accident on a job in the qzand all the time in between he'd be such a shell of himself, Tess and Tommy always sharing a look when it's especially bad like "this has to get better at some point, right?"and when it eventually happens, neither Tess or Tommy are ever sure if it's really an accident or not. Joel wasn't really sure either, he just knew that the last thing he thought of was that last morning before Doc flew back to New York where he got her pregnant in the water and her and Sarah made French toast

Give me UGLY Jason/Piper break up.

(I haven’t read ToA. I know some of what happened but all I’m acknowledging is that they canonically broke up)

I just love drama tbh but ALSO I think it could make sense. Like, they both loved Leo so much. Like they dated each other but they both refer to Leo as their best friend, not each other. After his “death” they share their mourning at first but… the stages of grief get a little ugly. And they were Up There With Him. The survivors guilt…

They’re growing a part and stewing in their grief and guilt and then they have this huge ugly fight. They end of blaming each other for the exact thing they feel most guilty about. Jason brings up that she basically told them that one of them would die, which is what lead to Leo making his crazy plan in the first place. Piper shoots back that Leo did it to save Jason, and what did Jason do with that information?? What did HE do to protect Leo??

And the truth is Piper was doing her best to protect them both. This is WHY she carries the physician’s cure. Or thinks she does. And Jason, honestly, just assumed it would be him. His whole life he’s been told he’s meant for great things, placed above everyone else but also Burdened With It. Like Percy, he’s been asked to do the impossible again and again. Fight sea monsters, Titans, lead armies, becoming praetor at 15. And Jason loves Leo. He knows he would die for him. It never occurs to him that Leo is spending every day planning and planning so that Jason doesn’t have to be that hero. So that Jason doesn’t have to sacrifice himself. Leo DECIDED it would be him before Jason ever got the chance.

But they both feel so so guilty and can’t admit to themselves or each other that they thinks their best friends death is their fault. So they blame each other and go full angry exes that don’t talk to each other. Their friends are worried but can’t get them to budge.

Anyway flash forward to Leo’s return and he’s like BESTIES I MISSED YOU and is hit with the two biggest sobbing messes. Piper and Jason mutually silently agree to avoid talking about the break up as much as possible and also to avoid each other while also spending as much time with Leo as possible. Obviously Leo eventually realizes that his two best friends aren’t spending any time with each other if one of them is basically always with him but never at the same time.

He figured out they broke up and yells at them for blaming each other (It was MY heroic awesome genuis sacrifice why are dumb asses blaming each other?!) and then they team up and yell at him for not telling them his plan and blowing himself up (THEY WATCHED HIM GET BLOWN UP) and disappearing for months and breaking their hearts. And then they all cry and apologize and are besties for real again.

(Jasipereo bonus if you ship them: Piper and Jason in unison blurt out and admit that they’re in love with him, hence the heart breaking, and then stare at each other until they start laughing. Meanwhile Leo pinches himself repeatedly bc he’s obviously dreaming-)

Synopsis: you meet Pope’s parents for the first time.

A/N: Pope deserves more hype tbh. Also I didn’t specify whether it was a Pogue!reader or a Kook!reader so you can choose what you want it to be.

You look in the mirror, smoothing down your dress. You kept dragging your hands down it and tugging on the bottom, scared it wasn’t appropriate for Pope’s parents, that you were meeting for the first time, tonight.

It was nerve racking, and you’re almost positive they expect some genius person like their son. You and Pope had been together for four months at this point, and never met his parents. He begged after you hit the one month mark, and met your parents after the two month mark. The only reason for that was how nervous you were about it. Pope was your first real boyfriend and you didn’t want anything to screw it up.

“Hey, you almost ready?” Pope peaked his head through your now cracked door. He’d been sitting in the living room with your parents, waiting for you to come out.

“Hm?” You turned around to face him, he now had a smirk on his face as he looked you up and down in your white flower imprinted sundress that stopped right above your knees.

“Y’know, you didn’t have to get all dressed up. They’ll love you no matter what,” He began to walk towards you. “But,” he dragged out. “You look pretty.”

He was wearing a south end t-shirt that hugged his biceps with khaki pants. Totally casual.

“Ugh, don’t get all sappy on me, Heyward.” You joked, holding your arms out to your boyfriend.

He walked towards you and grabbed your head pushing it gently to his chest. You let him. Your head now laid on his chest as he dragged his hand up and down your back.

“Should I change?” You say against his chest, breaking the silence. “Is it too much for dinner with your parents?” You add.

“No, you look good.” He reassures, pushing your shoulders back to get a good look at you. “Ready to go?”

When you and Pope arrive at his house, you hesitated to get out and Pope didn’t miss it.

“Hey,” he shifted in the drivers seat and placed his hand on your thigh. “They’ll love you.” He pat your thigh reassuringly.

You smiled at his words, loving the way he could tell when you were in doubt.

You both made your way out of his truck and into his house; the house you’d snuck in to many times to stay the night with Pope. You immediately found his dad sitting on the couch, flipping through channels on the tv and his mom in the kitchen making something; what you assumed was dinner.

When his dad noticed you standing behind Pope he jumped up to greet you. “Hi, nice to meet you, Mr. Heyward.” You gave a small wave with a shy smile.

His mom still hadn’t noticed you with her still facing the stove.

“Ma!” Pope yelled towards the kitchen, making his mom immediately turn around. “Y/n’s here.” He added.

A huge smile was now plastered across her face. “Oh my God! Hello, Y/n.” She pulled you into a tight and unexpected hug. A hug you would give someone if you hadn’t seen them in ages, definitely not the type of hug you’d give someone you just met.

“Hi, Mrs. Heyward. So nice to meet you.” You smiled over her shoulder.

You couldn’t lie, that hug made you feel safe. Most of the worries you had just five minutes ago were washed away by the warm welcome from Popes parents.

His mom pulled away from the hug after a few seconds and waved you over to the dining table. Pope grabbed your hand just in case you were still nervous as you both made your way over.

You and the Heyward’s spoke a little while dinner was still being prepared and by the time it was done, you were honestly starving. You couldn’t eat before with your nerves going crazy.

“You hungry, Y/n?” Mrs. Heyward questioned, sitting a pot of something on the table.

“Starving.” You replied, smiling up at Mrs. Heyward as she sat back in her seat.

Mrs. Heyward began spooning the food onto everyone’s plate.

“So glad my sons finally got himself a girl,” Mr. Heyward gives you and Pope a grin. “Thought he was gonna be single forever, y’know.”

You put your tongue to your cheek to contain your laugh then looked at Pope, who was rolling his eyes. You mouthed an ‘i’m sorry’ for almost laughing at what his dad had said.

“Pope has told us so much about you, I feel like there’s nothing to ask you since we know so much already.” Mrs. Heyward chuckles slightly.

You look over at Pope who looked slightly embarrassed at the fact that his mom practically outed him. You gave him a small smile, not expecting that from him.

“Is that so?” You ask Mrs. Heyward, but still your eyes were set on Pope.

Thinking about Pope being all gushy over you warmed your heart more than it should’ve.

“Mhmm. Was starting to think he made you up just for us to stop asking when he’d finally be bringing someone home.” His mom said chuckling, again.

You laughed at Pope’s expression towards his mom. A straight face and wide eyes, as if he were trying to hush her with only his eyes. His mom soon caught on when she looked to her son and nodded.

“Cute.” You say, trying to contain your laugh once more.

Everyone finally finishes dinner and Mr. and Mrs. Heyward had finally run out of questions to ask you. They made you feel more welcome than you could’ve ever imagined. Pope however, was not enjoying himself. He was embarrassed the entire time. Praying they wouldn’t say anything else that would have you making fun of him for days.

“Thank you, both, for dinner. It was great.” You smile as you stood up from the table right after Pope.

You’d exchanged a hug with his mom once more and a handshake with his dad. A few more words were exchanged before you and Pope made your way out of the home. Pope couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

As soon as you both get into Pope’s truck he sits there for a minute, mind reminiscing on what had just happened with embarrassment flooding his face.

You shift your body in the passenger seat towards your boyfriend. “I love them,” you say cheerfully, breaking the silence.

He turns his head towards you. “Seriously? They were obnoxious.” He scoffs.

“Oh hush.” You laugh pushing his shoulder a bit. “You’re just mad that they totally outed you. You’re whipped, huh?” You joke.

“Shut up. I’m not.” He lies. A smirk forms on his face as he shakes his head.

Work you are most proud of (and why): ‘tis the damn season because I have always said that there was absolutely no way I could write an advent fic day by day. And yet, when Nov 30th came around and I only had two chapters, my fomo won over my fear of failure and I thought I’d give it a try, because the worst that would happen is that I wouldn’t finish it, which would’ve been fine! But then with the help of everyone who read along, I actually did it! 

A favorite excerpt of your writing: unlike most years, when I quickly scrolled through my works, nothing specific jumped out, so I’ll just say that I really liked how ch 6 rolled into ch 7 in ‘tis the damn season!

A time when writing was really, really hard: oh boy. Okay. so if you go back and read my 2022 recap, and 2021, you’ll see that writing has consistently been hard for me for a few years. So, this year I told myself not to worry about it, that I could not write a single thing and not feel bad about it. I didn’t do a ton of writing this year, but having the internal pressure off sure helped. Even though I really miss the way it used to be. 

A scene or character you wrote that surprised you: I’ll say Zayn in ‘tis the damn season, because I didn’t have a role for her when I started, and I really liked her as minor threat slash Louis’ bff and sometimes hookup. I want someone to write a story in her pov. lmaoooo How did you grow as a writer this year: I really tried to get rid of my perfectionist tendencies and tried to write without putting pressure on myself. 

How do you hope to grow next year: i dont even know, tbh. I’ll be very happy if I match my 2023 fic count. 

Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc): I adore everything that @disgruntledkittenface put out this year. The way she keeps pushing herself is really inspiring.

Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year: ummm, I guess the ‘moving back home thing’... idk. Nothing i wrote this year hit particularly close to home.

Every song on BRAT and which BNHA character it's about (aka redemption round) (but it's only tangentially about MY fic)

I made a shitty shitty post about which Charli song was which BNHA character. I wish to redeem myself. Bring this in line with my Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess post (tbh this is much more my usual music taste, the Chappell is a departure largely just because I LOVE her voice) and do a character per track. That said, it is about my shitty little fic, the one I'm writing on the Aye Oh Three, (it's called Never So Strong and it's bad but whatever it's Mido but she's a wonderful lesbian because I am gay and I like women) This is also slightly harder than Midwest Princess because uh. Genuinely none of the main characters on BNHA would ever do coke. And it's kind of needed for the vibes. (Wait actually Todoroki would probably do coke once. Just to see what it was all about. Lmao) Tbf even the villains are pretty tame. Like I genuinely don't believe Shigaraki has done coke. He doesn't have that energy.

This is a challenge. A personal goal. Can I make this work for characters who would not know how to cut a line? MAYBE. (also I'm really fucking lazy and piecing together the story I wrote into the order it's supposed to be in is really hard unexpectedly so this is just to give myself a break from that. I don't write chronologically and this makes editing a nightmare)

WITHOUT FURTHER ADO:

360: All Might. I said earlier this was about him, and it is. He's so Julia. He's everywhere, legacy is underrated, he sets the tone, etc. Like come on. The man IS the picture of the modern hero. This is him. He is the fucking icon.

Club classics: Mic. Wait I low-key hope he's tried coke once. Anyway. He's our DJ. He's our music man. And he's got a list of absolutely fucking banger friends. Classic. He is classic, and he would dance to his own shit. Let's fucking go. This works for him. (he's a really fucking minor character in my fic but he's important to me ok)

Sympathy is a knife: Bakugou. COULDN'T EVEN BE HER IF I TRIED. This is him at the start of his arc. The guy is spiraling and me too bestie. The jealousy and the fucking insecurity. Yes. Thank you. Banger. And the lack of just control making you feel helpless. Very yes that.

I might say something stupid: Yogi Toshinori. Yeah that's right. I'm gonna hurt your feelings. He definitely feels like an outsider as himself and not All Might. And that's just how it is. It sucks when you had the world and lose it. And it hurts. "I'm famous but not quite but I'm perfect for the background one foot in a normal life" BYE. "I don't know if I belong here anymore"

Talk talk: Uraraka. I just like her. I could see her being like this about liking someone but not really knowing if it worked. (COUGH MIDO EARLY IN THE STORY COUGH) And well. "I wish you'd just talk to me" because REAL. Besides that though the ~vibe~ of this song is very Uraraka. Light. Fun. Good.

Von dutch: Hawks thinks this is about him and who am I to take that away from him?! He should b in the club and this is for him when he goes to the club! And he does that little dance (what the commission wants) because without it he'd be nameless! (haha what) PUT YOUR HANDS UP

Everything is romantic: A struggle to narrow down but I'm going with All for One but like ironically. Like he's blasting this while he's watching the world burn at his behest. And hey I think he'd be big on the Romantic literature tradition. He's a French lit nerd in my heart so therefore. This. But again know it is not genuine he's just baiting you.

Rewind: Mitsuki Bakugou. I think she probably misses when her bestie Inko wasn't in constant worry hell and when her son wasn't a holy terror sometimes (yes yes save your fucking parenting discourse for somewhere that's NOT my Charli shitpost) and his little tiny bestie wasn't scared and breaking bones 24/7. Wouldn't it be cool to rewind.

So I: Hi this song makes me fucking CRY. BAWL. This is also any One for All successor to their predecessor. Midoriya to All Might, All Might to Nana, etc etc. It's okay to cry. It's okay. The gnawing guilt, the pain, the loss. Yes.

Girl, so confusing: This is Momo Yaoyorozu singing about Midoriya Izuku in my fic specifically and I love it. And they WILL work it out in the remix. (Yes Izuku is so Lorde) (Bite me)

Apple: Todoroki. Which one? Yes. All them kids are getting the fuck away. Like come on you can't tell me Shouto wouldn't be blasting this shit when he tells Endeavor he's not gonna act like his son. All of these kids deserve a banger about an absolutely rotten relationship.

B2b: Dabi and Hawks. Nuff said. I've been over this, I love them as a messy relationship with messy messy vibes. And a club BANGER.

Mean girls: Bubble Girl. I like her. I think she's more important than she is in canon and I want her to be the fucking break-your-boyfriend's-heart girl. She's so fucking cool. (Also a sidekick with a quirk that's objectively not that OP I KNOW she's fucking badass) (I deserved more Nighteye agency shenanigans in canon so I'm giving them to myself damnit)

I think about it all the time: All Might. Thinking about his child. Well, the child he adopted after said child did a fucking stupid thing just to try to save a bully. Iconic. And the fear of running out of time, the fear of losing a career you've worked so hard for? It works. Ty.

365: Brother really none of these characters would do coke. Not one of them. What am I supposed to do here? Well uh. I think I'll give this one to Gran Torino. Because fuck it man, I think he prolly did coke once. And I hope he was fucking BOUNCING off the walls.

Sometimes I think about that scene of them outside the factory where Artic's explaining how the wings work and Avie brought her snacks and I just smile. They're besties your honor!!!!!

I imagine it'd be hard to find fresh flowers given the state of the valley, and the Onceler promoting fake flowers bc "They come in any shape and color no matter the season, and you never have to worry about them wilting! Who needs real flowers anyways!"

So I'm picturing Artic flying into what's left of the valley, trespassing on company property, to find some ouo

Maybe they end up in one of those windowsill planters, being well taken care of and faring much better than they would at the mercy of an axe-hacker. And a sweet scent in the air whenever Avie walks by the window -u-

STOP THIS IS SOOO CUTE I LOVE ARTIC AND AVIE AS BESTIES THEY'RE LITERALLY THE BESTEST FRIENDS EVER <3 They just chill in my head sometimes tbh, going about their lives and doin' whatever.

No but I can see Avie being SO SHY to take the flowers Artic got for her. She's a social butterfly, but she's never been great at recieving gifts or anything. There's always this "oh no, are you sure?" moment with her when you give her ANYTHING. And she's super sentimental so her estate is decorated with a whole bunch of knick knacks that she's recieved over the years :)

Ohhh the Onceler. Back at it again, promoting his business. "Try these fake flowers! They'll never die, as they're made entirely out of plastic! Just like the entire city will be soon! You could never find this shade in the wild, no matter how hard you tried, but we have it here for you, ready to purchase at your nearest retailer!" One day, Avie's lamenting to Artic about how she misses real flowers, just something pretty and bright and alive, and then a lightbulb goes off in Artic's head. There's gotta be some real flowers around here, right?

So Artic, slightly defiantly, because she's annoyed at the Onceler for being... Like That, soars into the now barren Truffula Valley, scouring the land for flowers. Anything, really, that would give Avie something nice to look at and care for. And then she finds something perfect!!! Periwinkles!! And ofc Artic knows what the meaning is and I'm sure she's like "yeahhhh that's exactly what I was looking for!!"

And like I said, Avie loves gifts but she's very shy about getting them. "You thought of me?" is the first thing that comes out of her mouth when she's presented with 'em. It's somehow surprising that somebody would think of her with such a sweet gesture. And Artic is like "yeah? It was either you or the axe, and I think you'll take much better care of them." Eventually Avie takes them and Artic asks her if she knows flower language and ofc Avie has no clue. So Artic explains that periwinkles are all about friendship and by the end of it Avie is tearing up a little bc it's such a sweet and lovely gesture. "You thought of me because we're friends?" It ends with Avie giving Artic a biiiiiiig tight hug and because she's just so grateful that she's got someone so kind, thoughtful, and genuine in her corner.

Avie cares for the periwinkles sooo gently. They end up in her kitchen windowsill planter so that she can see them every morning when she wakes up to make herself breakfast. They always seem to perk up and say good morning to her when she comes in with their fragrant, delicate smell! They thrive, of course, in Avie's windowsill, representing how her friendship with Artic is thriving and growing!

And Avie wants to return the favor. Thankfully, she's crafty! So she makes friendship bracelets (I'm picturing the threaded ones, something like this!) for them. Artic's has blue flowers and a purple chain, while Avie's is the inverse (loosely based on your banner image, ofc). Avie's all embarrassed to give Artic her bracelet bc she's worried that her bracelet making skills aren't all that good, and she babbles on about how the periwinkles were really sweet and she wanted to return the favor and she hopes it's not subpar- but I can see Artic being like "nono, this is good. Don't worry."

So yeah in conclusion Artic and Avie are the best friends ever <3
