“What do you mean you don’t remember your favorite dessert?” Sonja puts her spoon down, leaving her slice of cake untouched.

Capsize takes another spoonful of the red velvet slice in front of her and chews. She shrugs as she eats, forcing Sonja to sit there and wait for an explanation.

“I mean just that,” She forgoes the cake this time and coats her spoon entirely with pink frosting and heart shaped sprinkles. “Lots of things I don’t really know anymore. This is real good, Fox.” She covers her mouth as she talks.

“Thank you, glad to know you’re a connoisseur of good taste.” Sonja leans forward, the wood countertop restricts her from getting any closer to the woman sat across from her. “But there must be something?”

Capsize settles her spoon down on her plate, sits back putting her hand on her chin, and hums in thought.

“Spark makes these apple tarts that—“

“No!”

“No?”

“No. Ruxmor food does not count!” Sonja’s very sure that if she checked any cookbook from this realm, historical or recent, she’ll find the recipe to apple tarts right after apple pie. She’s also sure that her quick shut down to Capsizes statement lies more with a particular person than the actual pastry itself.

She’s gone quiet. They both have. Oh Sonja’s ruined the mood hasn’t she? Capsize lets out a shaky sigh. Fuck, she has.

“I like your cake…?” She sounds uncertain.

“That doesn’t count either, you should have more to compare it to. A wide variety of options.” It’s her turn to think, it really doesn’t take her long to think of a solution. Especially, not from a problem as easy to fix as this one.

“We’ll figure out you’re favorite dessert!”

“We?”

“Yeah, means you’ll have to come around more often.” Sonja doesn’t wait for Capsize’s response, as she takes her first bite from the cake slice. It is good, but she could definitely have done better.

“Okay. I’ll hold you to it, lass.”

If you could be any stickman who would it be?

Red, because he he loves animals and has three of my favorite Mobs as classmates. Having an animal and Mob affinity is cool. I think it’d be fun if you actually could be friends with Mobs (giving them food, trading, etc) in Minecraft instead of just ignoring them or running away.

me telling my therapist today about what was making me depressed and that i didn’t know how to make sense of what i’d realized about my best friend and i’s friendship and my therapist just being like “leah, it’s the PTSD. you’re surrounding yourself with physical and emotional triggers because your PTSD feels like it needs the chaos to feel normal.”

this diagnosis is really going to make everything make sense, huh?

The older I get the more I admire people who are earnestly, genuinely into whatever their thing is. I know it sounds like an annoying cliche but unless you're being cruel or hurtful there is really no need to be normal about things. The dude with the bad fake accent at the renaissance faire is having the time of his life. The people having photoshoots with their fashion dolls are loving it. The old lady with a yard unreasonably full of tacky ass lawn ornaments is having a blast, HOA be damned.

the thing that gets me about about barbie is that barbie land wasn’t even purposefully a matriarchy, barbie land came about because of the way little girls were playing with their barbies, it wasn’t created by mattel it was created by the people using the toys, so the fact that the barbies ignored the ken’s and had girls night every night wasn’t because they had some bias against him, it was just an accurate depiction of how kids play with barbies. I had some ken dolls as a child and they were essential to the plot in the sense that of course my barbie has a boyfriend because that represented the world i saw around me, but also he didn’t have any purpose in my dream world because i was only interested in what the girls were doing because they represented me and how i wanted to be, I wanted girls night every night I wanted the girls to be president and austronauts and not because of some inherent feminist idea but because I was a girl and I wasn’t thinking about boys, ken was an accessory. this movie wasn’t made to change the world but it showed a different perspective than what we usually see which I thought was fun. Men don’t have to be the centre of all our stories and its not even because we hate them, sometimes we’re just not thinking about them
