the thing that gets me about about barbie is that barbie land wasn’t even purposefully a matriarchy, barbie land came about because of the way little girls were playing with their barbies, it wasn’t created by mattel it was created by the people using the toys, so the fact that the barbies ignored the ken’s and had girls night every night wasn’t because they had some bias against him, it was just an accurate depiction of how kids play with barbies. I had some ken dolls as a child and they were essential to the plot in the sense that of course my barbie has a boyfriend because that represented the world i saw around me, but also he didn’t have any purpose in my dream world because i was only interested in what the girls were doing because they represented me and how i wanted to be, I wanted girls night every night I wanted the girls to be president and austronauts and not because of some inherent feminist idea but because I was a girl and I wasn’t thinking about boys, ken was an accessory. this movie wasn’t made to change the world but it showed a different perspective than what we usually see which I thought was fun. Men don’t have to be the centre of all our stories and its not even because we hate them, sometimes we’re just not thinking about them

So a friend and I were playing around and I felt... Inspired. Vigilantes AU 🙌

Co-written with @davestriderisasimp, it's currently only a vague idea but it's so so fun either way!

YAPPING AHEAD, BEWARE !!!

Oh man. This AU was born because my friend made a funky Daniel in a really cool Epiphet Erased AU, and in turn, I made a David that matched. Then they became arch nemeses, kissed, punched each other, and committed so much dang crime!

In David's defense: he commits crime to stop criminals. Criminals like Daniel, and his team of EVIL MINIONS (they're all petty criminals AT BEST they're the cutest, bestest ever, I LOVE THEM)

Her Daniel was genuinely so fun that he was the first and only Daniel I ever even considering making a Danvid with. The OG Danvid has neat vibes, in a Killing Stalking kinda way, but it just wasn't my vibe, y'know? Good for those who like 'em, tho !!

This David is just... so neat. He's like if Davey's original snarky attitude had never been completely overriden by his love for camping. He blackmails Cameron for favors from time to time, but is pretty fond of the guy because he's not exactly a genius evil mastermind. He loves his friend Gwen and his son Max—who may or may not have been "kidnapped" from his home by some red-headed stranger who distracted his parents by setting their car on fire—and has started to care a little for his roommate, CJ.

He started vigilantism when he was just a teenager with some anger issues, man. And now he just got used to it! But hypocrisy just runs through his veins, as he feels super stressed whenever Max decides to sneak out to go after him and help. He wants to beat up strangers too!

Neither Max or David have "offensive" epiphets either: theirs are "Recover" and "Endure", respectively. A healing and a passively defensive power. Gwen's, though? Hers is "Orgasm". It's perfect for sweeping someone off their feet— if you get what I'm saying, HAH

Daniel's epiphet is "Kool Aid", and he uses it so dang well! He's the silliest villain you'll ever meet and I adore every moment he's "on-screen" (aka, whenever we talk about him, HEHEHE). He's the captain of a team of minions—yes, he does call them his minions. It's a very worthy title, I must say—who perform LOTS OF CRIMES together. Most of them are simple robberies, though, and David is incredibly amused by them.

He does, occasionally, fall on one of their traps. And then they laugh at him. Then they take him hostage to make him gawk at their mighty evil lair (they bring him over) and feel pathetically miserable once he sees that his own personal resting hours are nothing compared to the glory of their favorite entertainment (they watch some movies), and so on...

They're so, so, so so silly. I cannot express enough how much I freaking love them.

Also, Max has a bear motif. It just... It just stuck. I love him too (so does David HEHEHE)

As for Jasper...

His epiphet is "smoke", and he disappeared a long, long time ago. That's all I have for now!

Also this WIP, which I will probably never finish. Hehe.

had a hetalia dream last night, and it was surprisingly coherent. it was during the start of the Great Rapprochement between the US and UK, I think specifically 1899 for some reason.

in any case, Arthur and Matthew were dead set on improving their relationship with Alfred, who wanted none of it. and in the midst of them pestering Alfred on potential Family Bonding Activities, Alfred, in an attempt to get them to go 'absolutely not' and hopefully give up, told them he was too busy and already had plans to do a cross-country cattle drive; and to make it really unappealing, the cattle trail in question was the Goodnight-Loving trail (that's what it's called!) from central Texas to Cheyenne, Wyoming. ie, this monstrosity

this is so fucking funny to me because I've done road trips through the Llano Estacado portion (Texas-New Mexico) and the entire drive just looks like hours upon hours of just

absolutely fucking nothing out there. 700 miles of dull. sometimes a plateau in the distance.

for some reason, maybe naïvety or lack of foresight, this did not dissuade Arthur and Matthew, who immediately invited themselves along. so it was the three of them, along with Ana María 🇲🇽, and, bizarrely enough, Natalya (who was like in hiding as a fugitive because she did something to piss off the Russian tsar???) and a few other cowboys. the rest of the dream was them roughing it for 700 miles as Arthur and Matthew had the time of their lives and Alfred spent the whole trip trying to not kill everyone and then himself.

- the eternal wakestone you get for killing the sphinx is VERY misleading, it is a one time use only NOT reusable like the name suggests

- it costs 120k to get it duplicated BUT

- the copy doesn't work

So be careful when you use it. This is not a solution to the dragonsplague, so do watch out for signs that a pawn in your party is sick.

Practice good pawn care and regularly toss them off cliffs or into rivers.

bg3 is one of the few games ive played where it seems like stuff just .. sort of happens to me. like i went to go tell this guy he was going to get murdered and he was like "idc about that go kill my rats" so i went and killed a bunch of rats, and then the mind flayer who lives in my head asked me to go retrieve some of his stuff in his hide out nearby so i went to get that and then got ambushed by a bunch of folks bc i wanna kill their god, and then after i listened to the mind flayer's stories about his life i tried to go back up to the surface only to be approached by this evil shapeshifter who made me agree to her pact lest she kill my friend, and then i ran into some guy who was holding a funeral for his sister who i think he turned into a grease monster, and only then did i finally get to made it to the surface only to be greeted by a huge explosion in a nearby building
