Ok so ik that rol isn't canon to the show, and that the ds games are mostly canon, BUT. Do you have a preference for their lore/stories? Basically, shattered crystal vs rol: which is ur preferred take as a prequel? I love the chaos crystals from rol and I don't like the lost crystal of power from shattered crystal, so I prefer rol for that reason. I think shadow was handled much better in shattered crystal tho, but the japanese dub of rol is virtually identically to shattered crystal wrt shadow's characterization (in the jpn dub, shadow was under lyric's control a la shattered crystal, and that's why he shows up to fight sonic & tails; sorry for mansplaining if u know this already), soooo like yea the jpn dub of rol is prolly my overall fave take on the lyric/prequel debacle. Curious 2 hear ur thoughts. Bc I've got a billion of them.

haha yes im aware that the japanese dub of rol added mind control to shadows situation! (though you said it was shattered crystal in your ask, which im assuming was a typo) digressing a bit here but i hear that overall the jpn version of all sonic media is much better at portraying its characters even with the tonal shift that happened between the 00s and 10s so afaik theres also a lot less discourse about the characters being written "incorrectly" over on the jpn side of the fanbase, and by extension theres a difference between how jp fans and eng fans see the charas but anyway back to boom. keep in mind that i own neither a wiiu nor a 3ds so i wouldnt be able to play either game even if i wanted to, and therefore im strictly going off of the cutscenes that ive watched and hoping that there isnt anything in the levels themselves that i may have missed.

my overall thoughts concerning rise of lyric and shattered crystal can be summed up as this: shattered crystal is the better game, but rol is by far more ambitious. i didnt... really catch any significant lore details in shattered crystal at all tbh? at least, not in the game itself - the prequel comic explains a little bit on what amys doing at the beginning of the game and what lyrics plans are, but at the same time... not really? the comic kind of just hops around from the ancients to shadow to amy to fill in the gaps that the game itself doesnt answer. and i wouldnt really call much of it very interesting, like lyric is looking for the crystal shards because he wants ultimate power? sorry not sorry but thats incredibly boring. also what was he doing during the time between the shattering of the lost crystal and the present day? how is he even still alive? shattered crystal just doesnt go very deep lore-wise. this isnt to say i dont like it because i do and im slightly bitter that its position as the followup to rol made it so hard for people to give it a chance. im not saying its the best game ever or anything, but the gameplay looks very fun and shadows role makes me smile

as for rol....... oh GOD. even without experiencing the infamous glitches in the gameplay, the cutscenes are so awkward and the script is executed so poorly that its hard to care much about whats actually happening BUT i do see. i see the vision. the vision of its lore, i mean. i dont care much about the difference between the chaos crystals and the lost crystal of power (imo the crystals themselves are the least interesting thing about their universe lol) but like i said at the beginning rol seemed to be going for something while shattered crystal wasnt. for one, i think lyrics motivations in rol are better, since we have that one scene that goes into his backstory and why he hates organic life so much. unfortunately, however, i dont think they did the concept justice, because there was so much more they couldve done with that - he couldve been an amazing narrative foil to sonic (someone who was slowly warming up to people throughout the course of the game, as opposed to someone who felt wronged by others and wanted to exterminate everyone) and his view that technology was the only thing to be trusted couldve been challenged when MAIA betrayed him. that just one example of how i consider rol to be a giant sack of wasted potential but if i were to go into every single thought i had watching the cutscenes, id crash everyones dashes, so ill save that for another time. oh and obligatory mention of shadow here, the way they included him in this game sucks, you could take him out and nothing would change, i hate it as much as the next guy but also its genuinely kinda funny that hes just there. did anyone else notice that how important he is in the boom games is sorta the inverse of metal sonics own role? when one has an effect on the plot, the other is there just to be there and fucks off immediately afterwards. there can only ever be one active hedgehog nemesis at any given time which is the real reason the s2 finale went down the way it did

so to finally answer your question, i like shattered crystals story better but my favorite version of boom lore is what rol COULD HAVE been if it hadnt been so poorly made. but to tell you the truth i dont think that hard about how to connect the games to the show? im not saying id never include mentions of lyric in my continuation but the show feels so disconnected from the games (naturally, since they were completely separate projects) that its hard for me to consider either one of them as an official prequel. much love to everyone who puts in the effort to connect them though

1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?

oh, god, yeah. like so many. mostly bc of like. time/energy constraints (i know two of these would be big multichaps and thats SUCH a daunting prospect for me rn) but anyway. abbreviated list of things i keep meaning to write:

- newsie/chimp centric twitterverse followup (but a prequel, actually i think)

- android au how kobra joined the crew

- comics-era the girl through cherris eyes

i feel like the obvious answer is kobra but honestly vaya and mads have such cool voices in my mind and theres a few ocs that idk. i never really plan on doing anything with them but they are neat! king mohilla. somethin about him aint right!

18) were there any works you read that affected you so much that it influenced your writing style? what were they?

oh its SO deeply embarrassing but there was this one fic i read a Lot when i was like. so mentally ill in high school and i tried to reread it the other day and had to stop because it was like. exactly the same kind of sentence structure i use when i write. literally terrifying. im not saying the title but i prommy its not like. infamous or freak shit or anything its just embarrassing

theres also things that like. didnt necessarily influence my writing style in a technical way but more in a like "laid the groundwork for settings that i like to write in" way by which i mean: media that fueled my fixation on the desert and thats like. ari and dante, spirit, the third percy jackson book, a fair amount of the killers nd patd (unfortunately), the x files, star wars, stargirl, night vale, the days of anna madrigal

also lets toss in lord of the rings bc fuck if i dont love the kind of love they all had for each other

HUH? they lost the vibe with ravn’s verse. okay i guess the prechorus is alright i can hear the faintest hint of strings. the chorus... the percussions should not be like that... like idk how to explain it but the rhythm is too regular and not spaced out enough, if they were gonna do it like that it should hit a lot harder. don’t give me just the big boy (idk the english name but u know the one on the drums) and the small cymbal sound... that’s not loud enough bring out the damn gong (ok i may exaggerate but like it sounds more dancey than rock either way). uhhhhh overall though i really like the mix of the heavy guitar & strings i think that’s great and they should do that more. i can only assume onewe took care of the instruments LMAO harin u should’ve gone harder than that king i know u can...

so uhmmm for me this cb is... better than the previous one. which is sad bc it was a full album. i also liked it better than tbontb bc i felt that one didn’t go hard enough and black mirror wasn’t trying to go hard in that way so it doesn’t bother me 😭 yeah it’s not light us raise us fly with us level but it’s really good still. i can’t wait for oneus to finally release something that makes me insane but tbh? tbh? the bassline might get me there anyway. sexy bass makes me deranged and i think that’s at least a little bit relatable. still... when oneus get back to their roots in ways other than valkyrock maybe we’ll ascend to a better plane. much love 💕

im watching the sopranos for the first time, now halfway thru season 3, and while im usually in awe of good the ep was when i finish one, the ep with the melfi r*pe scene really rubbed me the wrong way. it felt like a cheap way to present her with a moral choice and i really dont like how theres been basically no followup after such a graphic scene (after the ep ends i mean). idk if im so mad about it bc it legit triggered me or if it was actually poorly handled, what did u think of it?

Maybe I am biased, but I also did find it to be extremely upsetting and I don’t really know how else it’s supposed to be presented bc of how impactful I found it to be, both in the narrative and melfi’s character. It’s not something that is treated lightly as it’s done in other tv shows and I think it was leagues ahead of actually treating it seriously compared to A Lot of media at the time and even Now I think. The violence in the show is never something that’s taken lightly or even something the creators treated as something so flippant bc it’s shown time and time again that all this violence Means something and it’s supposed to be upsetting bc it just reminds you of how serious it all is, and I think if someone doesn’t find it serious, then that’s ultimately their fault and they probably have been so desensitized to empathizing with characters who suffer in horrible ways.

But I understand that point of view, it’s just that I would put it up there with an episode I saw of Broadchurch and I thought that entire storyline was handled very well, as much as it was upsetting. Melfi’s pain is never handled lightly and the entire episode focuses on the aftermath and the moral/ethical dilemma she struggles with and in the end it doesn’t Really further develop the male characters besides from now it establishing a sort of bond Melfi and Tony have, she starts to see him as someone that can protect her if she chooses to tell him. Which I think also goes on the path of her also starting to be attracted/attached to him but ultimately knowing she’s not the type of person that can get involved with him.

Loud House Reviews: Racing Hearts

Welcome back errbody. Continuing the Salauna trilogy with Racing Hearts. We’ve already seen the cute asking them out story , now comes the actual first date.. which ITSELF is massively important. Keep in mind even though Nick fully supported L is for Love and the crew put a lot of work into it given how good it turned out, Sam easily still could’ve vanished into Limbo. For it’s first 2 seasons loud house, the show HAD continuity: Once Ronnie Anne and Bobby moved away to set up their spinoff, there was an episode with Lincoln’s friends trying to help him deal with missing her in the first ep giving any of them besides Clyde focus, a trend that would continue, they still showed up via video chat or in person where waranted and there was a full episode about Lincoln’s group of friends trying to help him deal with it... which also reminds me of a smiliar episode of ned’s declassified that was really damn good but unrelated to this... seriously that show is underated and I hope with the Netflix deal it shows up there. Anywho back on the show we’re actually talking about, the show didn’t really have arcs, thigns that carried from episode to episode.. until Season 3. Season 3 is where the show REALLY hit it’s stride, with it now fully being an ensemble show and more continuity injected int, not interfering iwtht he show’s episodic nature but making it feel like events had meaning. Stella was introduced in “White Hare” and later got a full introduction that i’ll no doubt cover with “Be Stella My Heart” and afterwords rather than being forgotten entirely like the show used to do became part of his friend group in their episodes. Lynn SR. was revealed to have quit his office job to work at a restraunt and was working on opening his own, which while only a two episode arc, lead to the opening of Lynn’s table in the finale and it’s stuck around since. And Leni got a job at a clothing store she’s kept since and friends at said job who’ve shown up since. See i’m fine with a show not having heavy duty continuity or serilzation, some shows thrive there but I love it when shows do this: even if it’s not all about plots, things progresing or being followed up on makes the show feel more vibrant and keeps it from stagnation in my book. And as as show with a bunch of girls at dating age, it was invetivible theird’ be recurring romantic arcs, hence Chaz is mentoined as dating Leni, if not given any real focus so far hopefully that’ll change, while Luaan, in this episodes pairing brother, and most importantly Luna got followups on theres. And thus that brings us here to racing hearts,where nick earns the praise they got from l is for love by following up on it and showing in no uncertain terms the two as a blossoming couple. I get to the actual episode under the cut:

We start with Lori being upset the bathroom is being taken up.... and that brings up a small issue I have: .. WHY IS THERE ONLY ONE BATHROOM FOR 10 KIDS. I do assume Lynn Sr and Rita have their own, and that it might be hard to put another one up there for plumbing reasons, but it still seems WEIRD to not have more than one up there or close to the stairs so that it dosen’t take 50 years for 10 children to get ready. And yes I said 10, Lily has a diaper and isn’t potty trained yet and any cleaning up or getting dressed, when needed, falls on Rita or Lynn Sr. But still it’s a LOT to ask for 10 children to share share one bathroom peacefully and it’s only through the power of not wanting to spend an animation budget on it that the bathroom isn’t a constant disaster area. Anyways it’s actually Luna who, to her sister’s shock, is in a facemask getting ready to go to the Royal Woods Astonishing Quest with Sam for their first date. Naturally the other two are excited, and Luna, despite her usual nerves, is actually incredibly stoked and feels it’ll go perfectly.

At any rate, she’s happy and Lynn comes in to kick everyone out to scrape off her callosuses instead of you know... having Lucy leave their room or doing it while she’s not there, butttt that little detail is actually a tell for later so fair play to you. Plus Lucy may just understandably find int gross and Lynn dosen’t trike me as good at picking up after herself. As it turns out to no one’s shock, Lynn was banned last year for being a sore winner and rightfully so as we see in flashback, but she’scome to terms with it... wink. But they agree to leave as the louds need to get over there anyway. Cut to the ASTONISHING QUEST.. which turns out to be a scavenger hunt with admitely a great name. Seriously someone use that. But we see tons of returning charcters including Scootst, Pop Pop and his girlfriend, and...

I”d apologize for thatbut I feel that way any time I see the little weirners face. Be glad this dosen’t happen every time he shows up. On the bright side he looks as dead inside as I do whenever I find out he’s in an episode, and Zack looks the same amount of dead inside.. probably because he realized a filing cabnet would’ve been a better partner. A review of your choice for the first person to get that reference and send it to me. Thankfully my extesntial dread at seeing a Rusty cameo is lifted when Luna meets up with Sam and the two are awkard dorks together for a second as they figure out what greeting to do, settling on a handshake. It’s fucking precious. We then meet Royal Wood’s Mayor, voiced by Shirley! Now if she’d just show up on Ducktales already. Though hearing her reminds me I should do some Harvey Beaks reviews at some point... anyways, she announces the quest and Clyde and LIncoln make a fist bump while Lori and Leni stare down their parents like their about to start brawling in the streets then and there. What.. what have you guys done to each other over the years at these things? I want to know the history there. Have astonishing quest show up again in another season. I”d also love an Brooklyn Nine Nine style heist episode with this show . Anyways, the rules are laid out: Each team is given an evelope with a clue, standard scavenger hunt contest stuff, and have challenges at each location to complete. The first team to finish wins the key to the city.. er a tiny trophy with you did it on it. Honestly that last one’s better anyway. Anyways after from trashtalk from Scoots and her partner Helen, who seems oddly familliar, we’re off! The first clue is easily figured out by Luna and the two old ladies quickly take advantage of Luna saying it loud where everyone can hear it by heading off: It’s off to Lazer Maze , the local Lazer Tag. The guy there gives them their challenge: They need to get 500 points to get the next clue. Luna takes to it like a fish to water and easily tags Lisa and her friend Darcy... another nice little cameo. And it also shows something I like: not only are all the louds except Lynn, whose banned, and Lily, whose a baby, are competting on their own. And only Lori, who pops back up in a bit and Leni,whose partnered with her are plot relevant, but the episode easily could’ve left them out or used extras for the other teams but wisely decied to instead use characters we’re familiar with. It adds a nice touch that makes this feel like an actual event and make sme wish the show did more townwide events like this. Stars hollow it up. You have a fun character in the mayor, who was hilarious in her one minute here, you have your taylor. Just give her a quirky sidekick and have fun with it. Granted I want every series to have a little gilmore girls in it, but still. Anyways Sam botches it and instead of shooting the golden girls shoots Luna by accient, though by the next cut they have their points, and the lazer tag guy encourages them anyway. Sam apologizes not being good at Laser tag but Luna happily shrugs it off: While she enjoys it it’s not for everyone. Anyways it’s Luna’s turn to be confused while Sam easily figures out the clue: IT’s off to the farm. And if you wanted the exact oppsite of my reaction to a Rusty cameo...

Yeah while my reactions to Rusty is “Why haven’t you died on the way to your home planet yet?” My reaction to Liam is pure joy. He’s like this generation’s stinky peterson and I love it and has a nice enjoyable personality instead of being my own personal Kahn. Anyways LIam’s challenge is to get Eggs from the chickens. Which Sam does easily.. Luna however is nervous to start despite Sam’s reasssurances.. before totally freaking out. To be fair though, chickens can be downright terrifying. Just look at Poyo

And why yes that is a chicken hell lordd whose also a cyborg bisecting santac lause. And why no, you are’nt getting any more context than that, go read Chew. Anyways theys till have enough eggs to complete the challenge, if now splattered in egg and with Liam disapointed with their shenanigans, but being a professinal about it. Total pro. Anyways, Sam is just as ready to brush it off as Luna, noting farms just aren’t for everyone. I also like this plot in general because while it has the series habit of “thing happens again and again and again then climax” it’s used to flesh sam out a bit. While she is there to be Luna’s love intrest, being a love intrest dosen’t mean a character can’t be good or fleshed out. Just look at tom from star vs the forces of evil for a good example of that. Anyways it’s once again Luna’s turn to figure out the clue and we’re off to Werk It Dance studio.. I gurantee it was going to say twerk it but nick was like “oh honey no. “. The name is just awkward otherwise. Or maybe i’m just old. Also the twins are there. Just a nice thing to note and two characters I THINK are from an episode I haven’t watched yet but read about. Anyways, Luna’s pumped while sam has “oh crapbaskets” written all over her face and quickly does terribly. This one however is .. not as easy to brush of. Not liking going to farms or laser tag is easy, there just things not to do on dates. Not dancing.. is hard when your both musically inclined people whose taste in music is why you met in the first place. While they try to gloss over it, it’s clear this is an issue and worries them both. Moving on you know the drill at this point: Sam gets the clue, Luna dosen’t, we’re off to rock climbing. Sam utterly loves it while Luna is terrified. Moving on We cut to Luna, whose sitting down feeling depressed, aka my natural state these days, when Lori and Leni show up. Lori even gave her a cute backpack for the quest.. that has a leash attached. I’d say it’s a bit extreme but i’m half convinced this happened at some point and is the reason Leni dosen’t wear laces.

Luna is of course spiraling because it turns out she and Sam don’t have a lot in common. Lori however gives some really good advice: Turns out she and Bobby hit some of the same problems and she just suggest they both try embracing things the other person likes. Even if it dosen’t work, shocker given the episode is far from over yet, it’s not bad advice and I like that in relationsihp based episodes it’s Lori who tends to be the one helping out, having the most experince to deal with that and a, at least by this point early Lori could be a bit TOO asholish sometimes, really solid couple. And if you read this before I apologize because for some reason Tumblr decided to EAT A THIRD OF MY REVIEW FORCING ME TO REWRITE IT. And yes i’m ranting a bit but in my defense I worked hard on this and to have most of it chewed up through no fault of my own pisses me off and thus I needed to rant a bit. Back to the review! So Luna tries Lori’s approach while Lori runs off to find Leni who got off the leash.. again. SHe’s probably just going to sniff some ground, eat the plants,she’ll be finnne Lori. Anyways Luna and Sam go to the local health smoothie shop, the kind of place that is my nightmare for people like me with Orangutan bods but makes sense Sam would be into, and the next challenge is identify what this smoothie is made of. I”ve played this game before: my guesses were fish bones,chicken bones, and dry bones.... seriously the glass was just purred bones. I never bought a smoothie from that guy again.. mostly because someone called the cops. There’s a lesson in that. Luna however spits hers out. IN a break from formula the next activity is for Luna to come sail away, come sail away come sail away with Sam.. whose actually a pretty apt sailor. You can guess the rest. Luna botches it, they still get the clue, yadda yadda time for the sad part. The two have an honest discussion abotu the fact that despite chemstry being there, they seemingly have nothing but their music in common and are diffrent people, with Luna glumly resolving to finish the race as friends and neither being happy. WHelp my heart just broke, next episode. So Mayor SHirley from Community greets the girls at the final challenge: A bake off... because apparently just being the first one there wasn’t good enough... then again i’ve seen far worse rule changes by a far smugger canadian man so i’ll let it slide. Thankfully the universe throws the two a bone: Neither can bake. What follows is a damn adorable scene: The two touch hands and blush over butter, before working in synch.. and Sam then procedes to cause their pie to explode in her face.. I could’ve phrased that better, but Luna giggles at it, Sam playfully tackles her giggling insues and the two end up on the ground, smiling at each other. Also Helen and Scoots win. Who cares. Luna realizes from this that she was an idiot to suggest giving up so soon, and proposes they simply try to find things they like together rather than focusing on their diffrences. Because as a coked out cat who sang a duet with a coked out Paula Abdul once said: If things go wrong we make corrections, to keep things goin in the right directions, try to fight it but i’m telling you jack, it’s uselss opposites attract! By the way the show really dropped the ball not having Luna mention this song titles in one of her song refrence things she does this episode. Anyways the two decide to start dating and then hug. My heart.. it’s too full. We end the episode on the reveal Helen is Lynn, a nice payoff for earlier as Lynn rides off on her elderly partner in crimes scooter into the sunset while Luna and Sam giggle and look on. Like any great love story. And we’re out. Final Thoughts: Okay second time around with this, and it’s a great ep. The repetition hurts it SLIGHTLY, but Sam and Luna’s chemistry helps the episode as does it’s terrific aseop: You don’t have to be exactly alike to love a person, or like the same things.. as long as you connect, and TRY to find things you both enjoy, you’ll be fine. The episodes also helped by plenty of nice little cameos, showing off the series new grasp on continuity, and Lori being Luna’s advisor and Lynn naturally being the douchey rival to them and everyone else. Overall a solid ep that was a natural step forward and set up a good status quo for Sam and Luna. The next ep dosen’t feel as natural a story step, but is still a nice one and the one that insipired me to take the leap and review these eps so join me next time as our faviorite couple bond with some cats and get into some scooby doo door shenanigans with “The Purrrfect Gig” Until then later days.

German Advice for people with Asuka or other germans as your muse

You're in an RP as Asuka or some other native german speaker and want to add some flavour with having her use german in some manner but arent fluent in german? Well, Google Translate is flawed so fear not, I have compiled a list of german exclamations you can use at your own leisure!

Hint:In german, all nouns are capitalized.

'Du bist' vs. 'Sie sind': In german, the word 'you' has two forms: a formal (Sie) and an informal form(Du). The informal form is typically used by anyone that are on a first name basis with one another, the formal one with anyone you are on last name terms with, like your boss for example.

Theres alot of ways to tell someone to go away. Here's a few

Hau ab! - literally translating to 'punch off', the closest thing to an english equivalent would be 'sod off'

Verpiss dich! - Piss off!

Schleich dich! - Literally translating to "sneak yourself", it is the south german (predominantly austrian equivalent of the aforementioned 'Hau ab', so it depends on where in germany your character grew up.

Geh weg! - translates to 'go away', can also be done via just saying 'Geh!'

Telling someone to shut up is important. Luckily, German has lot of ways to do just that

Halt die Klappe! - Literally translating to 'Hold the Clap', it is one of the many equivalents of 'Shut up'. Alternatively you could simply exclaim "Klappe" for the same meaning.

Halt die Schnauze! :Literally translating to 'Hold the snout', it is another one of the many equivalents of 'Shut up'. Again, you could simply exclaim "Schnauze" for the same meaning.

Halt den Mund! - Literally translating to 'Hold the Mouth', it is yet another one of the many equivalents of 'Shut up'. Other than previously, just saying 'Mund' does not produce a sensical exclamation.

Gib Ruhe! - Literally translates to "Give Silence" and basically means, yup, you guessed it: 'Shut up'

When a character breaks into their native tongue, it often is during emotional scenes. Here's some things for that!

Ich mag dich! - Translates to 'I like you' and is contextually identical to its english counterpart.

Ich liebe dich! - means 'I love you' in the romantic sense.

Ich hab dich lieb! - literally meaning "I have you love", it is the platonic equivalent of 'I love you."

Ich hasse dich - means "I hate you"

Here's some general exclamations for combat, for barking orders and of course, some general insults

Feuer frei! - translates to 'Fire free', and basically means 'Fire at will'

Du Trottel - translates to 'You Fool'

Du Depp - predominantly South German alternative to 'Du Trottel.'

We’ve been taught growing up that God loved us so much that he sent Jesus, his one and only son, to die on a cross as the final sacrifice for our sins. How amazing! A Love that strong is so hard to understand. Eventually we grow up and life gets hard, life is always gonna throw challenges our way. We begin to get in a slump and think to ourselves, “God how can this keep happening, how do I make this pain stop, GOD SHOW ME A SIGN.” Don’t give up, you have a purpose!!! God gives us so many different signs and guidance in the Bible. For example, Matthew 22:14, Isaiah 26:4, and so so so many more. Every story and battle has a format.

The beginning

This is where God shows us the broad picture. The happy moment, the light before the storm. A good thing happens, God calls you to ministry! This is the good news, but theres always a followup...

The Tension

This is the hard part, the battle. This is the challenge. The part that makes us want to give up, despite the good news we had before. The part that makes us feel worthless, and like we have no purpose... But you see this is exactly what the devil wants. He wants us to feel alone and abandoned. Worthless and lacking any purpose at all. BUT GOD is the light at the end of a dark tunnel! He is the Almighty Loving God! He is forgiving and he is our healer! So then why do we doubt him.

Why do we get angry with God when we have pain in our life? We ask for signs over and over again but for some reason we fail to see the results. But why are angry? God already sent his sign to all mankind through Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world” This is the happy moment! FOR GOD SO LOVED US! “That he gave his one and only son.” This is the moment of tension. The moment of heartbreak. God loved us so so so much that he sent his one and only son to die for our sins. “That whoever loves him shall not perish BUT have eternal life.” The ending to ever story. God gives us an opportunity of redemption. God wants us to join him, to follow him, to be a part of his kingdom. God loves us! Our God is a forgiving God! The moment of redemption. Jesus is the moment of redemption because no matter the pain and no matter what you’ve done GOD STILL LOVES YOU and he offers you redemption. There’s always a moment of redemption. Don’t forget whose child you are! Don’t forget that the devil wants you to feel alone, but Through Jesus we are NEVER alone and we are always loved! So at the end of whatever the devil has thrown at you, addiction, a bad home life, or whatever it may be that is holding you back from God, remember that there’s always redemption! you just have to be willing to ask God for forgiveness.

My prayer for you- “ I pray that you would find peace with yourself and accept the redemption at the end of a battle. I pray that you would know in your heart that you are loved by an almighty God. I pray that you would open your heart up to Jesus and accept him as your Savior. And I pray that whatever battle you are facing, God would heal you and touch your heart.” AMEN!

OH GOSH, I wish I had a good answer for you, Lovely, but it sounds like you have a big crush on her! I didn’t get my first crush until I was…17?? Yeah, so you are pining, my dear, sorry to say! Honestly, Lovely, I don’t know what else to say but to talk to her… you’ll never know unless you try. Perhaps start slow by asking her questions about sexuality and her views on it, and go from there.

The decision to confess, though is ultimately up to you, Lovely. I’ve never had to face the problem myself, but I suspect that it possibly is more difficult for people who are gay to confess to people because you possibly have no idea of the orientation of the person you’re confessing to, so it could go tits up in a matter of seconds. But, it appears that she seems okay with casual touches, so she may already suspect something, Lovely.

If you do decide to confess, and she is your best friend, she will understand, and she will let you down gently; I had crushes on TWO of my best friends at the time, and I told them I did. It was awkward for a little while, but we’re still friends to this day, though now I look back on it and cringe because UGH how did I have a crush on THEM and OMG HOW EMBARRASSING. I laugh on it, more than anything.

But who knows, she might also reciprocate! You never know unless you say something, Lovely.

But just know that the very real possibility of her “ditching” you IS there, which is why a lot of us would rather pine, because the friendship is too valuable. You’ll have to do a lot of soul searching and crying in the bathroom before you finally build up the courage to say something. But I honestly think, the age you are now, is probably the best time; you both are nearing the end of your high school years, and will probably be leaving for different colleges. The pining is something you REALLY don’t want to do while at college, so confessing now, at least you’ll have no regrets and NOT know. And unfortunately, reality dictates that your friendships will possibly change anyway when you both go away from each other; you’ll still be friends, but you’ll meet other people at your chosen schools and befriend them as well, and you’ll be discovering yourself even more.

I know it’s probably not what you want to hear, but pining hurts WORSE than the rejection, in my opinion. I pined for the second dude for like a year before I told him; it fucking sucked. And when it’s all said and done, no matter the outcome, you’ll come out a better, stronger person.

As for your sexuality, I often talk about discovering one’s self, and that it’s a continuing journey; you don’t have to have yourself all figured out at 16! I’m 36 and I’m STILL trying to figure out who I am! I don’t know if it will help you, but I had another Nonny in a similar situation awhile ago but decided to come out to their friend. You can read the main ask here, and the followup post here. It’s a lovely outcome to the situation, and I hope that your situation turns out well too.

aww man, i didnt finish it because i think ive done a pretty great job expressing my thoughts on season 8. it was freaking amazing? but im gonna write up some of what i planned for that post here.

favourite episodes:

two swords is good because it introduces us to the more violent fern and shows finn being a doctor for shits and giggles (foreshadowing?). i get good feelings from this ep. and these days, also sad ones.

high strangeness - tree trunks is pretty entertaining by herself but this episode had a glorious combination of comedy, quiet pain, and…. strangeness. seeing tree trunks be ooo’s greatest activist was nothing short of a golden meme factory. and it was a lttle sad seeing pb explain what it was all about, perhaps even questioning her own sanity here… as for the candy attacking the aliens, if you remember all of pen ward’s previous work, you sure do get a Little Pink Best Buds vibe.

jelly beans have power - yknow when they ended pb’s arc w the whole Being A Pragmatic Coldass back in the Cooler, i wondered if she was going to stay interesting or get boring. well, lets just say the AT crew have exceeded my expectations. not to mention season 8 SURE BRINGS UP A LOT OF COMPETITION in the whole “morally questionable science lady” area. after the whole King of Ooo stuff the princess has been trying to rebuild her relationship with her citizens, and to see her hot-headedness make it crumble apart… well it must have been like looking into your soul and seeing something dreadful.

All of Islands - yes this is cheating. do i give a fuck? no. uhhhh what were my fave eps? hide and seek was the part where i went “this is the best adventure time has ever been”. martin and minnie was not only realistic, making minnie my favourite side character to ever get that little screentime, it also hit all the right emotional notes as well as having a dash of humor. the light cloud kinda highlighted the differences between the humans and the oooish people, it made us all appreciate the wacky land of ooo I feel. finn could have had his life as a human and lived with his parents, but he would have possibly died during the plague, and he’d have never had all the amazing adventures that made him who he is. anyway finn’s kinda my second or third favourite character now which is a significant jump from a few years ago.

all of elements because i just dont care. highlights: skyhooks was deeply ominous and had marshmalline humming greensleaves which is pretty gay, bespoken for looked like it was gonna be shitposty but ended up making betty of all people a compelling, sympathetic, and unpredictable character… the third one had the ice kingdom which i think is my second-favourite location… cloudy i didnt like on my first rewatch but on our rewatch i learnt to appreciate it for the heart-to-heart bro chat that it was… slime central had funky skating (slime kingdom ftw) and the BEST humor in the miniseries alongside jake fucking dying, happy warrior is my least favourite of the eps but thats because it was setup for the much more magnificient hero heart which is my favourite… the reason for that is because it’s worth the most analysis and has the heaviest atmosphere. from lsp eating marceline’s face to finn holding back his fear to pb going fucking nuts and all those chilling candy zombies, this was the climax of the miniseries for sure. skyhooks II was a cooldown after the climax and a sort of resolution. it could have been better but the way i think of it, we haven’t seen all the resolution yet. highlights? lsp being the hero (lol) and pb and marcy’s kingdom-takeover song. pb’s actions in elements make me think that the power made her exemplify all her negative, controlling traits. she tried to take over the other kingdoms to make people “happy” and they ended up losing all their individuality. remind you of The Thin Yellow Line? the same sorta goes for FP but not really cos FP’s only negative trait is her awful temper.

abstract because i fucking love jake. i know some people found this ep disappointing but i did not.

ketchup for best filler ep because it looked GORGEOUS, it made me SMILE, it had backstory and the tale of what Marceline did in Elements presented in such a charming way, we even saw BMO spin a tale about her mom… I’m heartbroken that we probably wont be seeing any more guest animated episodes because this is my favourite one yet.

whispers. I TOO AM DOOM. *thunk thak thunk thank splat*

three buckets is the best episode in the best season of adventure time, and i think it beats out The Lich as my favourite season finale. it’s sad, it’s dark, it’s sweet, it’s hilarious, it’s ominous, theres nothing to dislike about it. my favourite part was the last few minutes starting from when fern left finn alone in the cave. he freaks out for a while which makes us wonder if he might actually die in here, then the robot arm in a surprising twist turns out to have a pb-siri that thanks finn for what hes done which is cute. and finn discovers his salvation in the rock drill and fucking weed whacker. then he fights his clone fern now COMPLETELY off the deep end, and just when finn is giving up, well…

i think the end of this ep is more defined by what isn;t said than what is said. finn is so shocked that he can’t even talk. bmo gives us one final bout of dark humor. then we switch to…. Fern……. finally free of his shell but a mere ghost of what he was…. his look of pure rage as he gets picked up by who we believe could be a scholar of Golb…. uncle fucking gumbald.

What a DEVASTATING finale, and what a fantastic setup for the final arc of Adventure Time!

a comment i had to make about the last few eps is: it’s suspicious that we didnt get a followup for PB after Elements. but even though Peebles wasn’t in these eps, she didn’t feel absent either. especially with Marceline’s story in Ketchup, Fern’s remembering what he did in Whispers, and literally everything in the last 3 minutes of Three Buckets, i feel that there’s something big building up for her. we’ve yet to see the consequences Elements had on PB who was out of everyonne the most dangerous elemental, the one who took her powers to the furthest extreme. considering what happened in Jelly Beans Have Power, iiiii expect this followup to be soon. maybe it’ll be big? maybe it’ll be quiet. either way i look forward. and if i’m disappointed? well it’s happened before.

altogether season 8 is my favourite in the show for obvious reasons. i dont think season 9 has the possibility of topping it but i really cant wait to see what we get next either way, just in case it manages to be even better.

no matter how adventure time ends, though, i think it’s going to hold a place in my heart for a long time.

it is a nice header image. although what sells it for me is the logo design. its a really nice logo.

for favorite scene, hmm. ya know, i cant not pick it. the convention scene. that scene legit almost made me cry at how touching it is both with its message about how anyone can cosplay whatever they want regardless of how they look. not to mention the themes of reaching out to others. all wrapped in a nice package of no dialogue so that its the emotions at the center forefront.

another scene i want to show some appreciation too is the scene where we first meet kit's mom. like, i knew it was coming from the chapter title. but i enjoyed the twist it was her step-mom and theres a deeper issue going on. it turned what was easy to guess to something surprising again just by how the story plays out the reveal

I'm not sure if I have a big favourite moment, but I have some little ones. Like when that "pinball wizard" thing played as Kit was taking on that nozzle in the gaming store, and it turned out it was the coworker.

The guy at the school in the knight suit, who had the fascination with corndogs. Weird background detail, added some humour to an otherwise tense scene.

Also, did not expect the female reveal there.

And I liked how the scientist flipped out over his research having the higher bounty than himself. Like, that trumped everything else he was in the process of dealing with and he went on a rampage. Amusing.

yeah the scientists in general was fairly hilarious in everything he tried to prioritize. although i enjoyed that at the end of the mission the crystal wound of broken anyway. cause i felt it was fitting given everything it had been through

I thought it was really clever how the rock was used to blind the scientist. Kitty is this weird mix of hyper competent (like when she used the snack habits of that one guy to track him down) and absent-minded (like when she then didn't make a grab for the compound).

I'm not saying that's unrealistic or anything, I can totally see it.

Very "living in the moment" with a dash of forward thinking.

nah i agree shes a really interesting character. like at first i wasnt sure id like her but some of her plans have been pretty spot. and to be fair a lot of the absent-minded ness you could write off as it her being a kid. so of course shes expected to be a kid and not always think through with her actions.

a more comedic moment i liked was at the end of Mor where Kit and Mary both have to stand there awkwardly making their false apologies to the whole school. this page especially cracks me up just cause of the sheer height diff between the two. i think that makes it extra hilarious https://tapas.io/episode/1215017

QUESTION 2. One of the comic’s focuses and highlights are the action sequences found within. Of the characters Kit has pursued so far in her bounties, which has been your favorite? Why is that? Likewise, which bounty did you think had the best fight choreography? What do you specifically think makes the choreography the best one? Do you think we’ll see any of the criminal characters again? If so, what could that mean for Kit? Considering many of the villains parody stereotypes and similar things, what other sorts of characters do you think or hope we might see? Lastly, do you believe Kit will encounter more of her professional rivals? If so, what do you think will happen?

its okay i had my struggles wrapping my head around but the convention scene really cemented it for me for some reason. but that might just be personal association of conventions being largely for the youth.

Incidentally, I wondered initially about the use of "der"... and then when Kitty used the term "Hoser" I thought she was Canadian. That proved incorrect, what with the Norwegian thing.

Ahh... yeah, I went to a certain convention for 20 years straight soooo...

Like, I want to ship, but it feels wrong. Normally if they're young I just think of it as cute, or picture them as older, and neither of those things kinda work here.

I wonder how big Kitty's gonna get when she's 20.

i didnt start going to conventions till i was an adult but at the same time my experiences is that theyre largely dominated by the youth. not to say there arent older adults there. but the youth are the ones always around drawing attention to themselves being loud. but i digress, just wanted to give context for why it worked for me

As to the question of the moment, I admit I'm not huge on seeing action and choreography, tending to be bigger on characters anyway. Which is probably why that scientist one sticks out so much, since we got his whole backstory and everything.

I am gonna be in for such a shock when my little one grows up, aren't I.

That short gangster guy who stole the boat might return. It was implied.

im torn on my answer to this question of the moment. i think i agree i like the scientist the best cause he got a lot of backstory. not to mention when kit was doing their dialogue for them from the roof i was like "nah shes gotta be exaggerating" then we meet the scientist and nope, he really is just that arrogant and she was spot on. so overally he was definitely the most entertaining

but for fight choreography, im picking the first bounty with the spin off kool aid man. i really enjoyed the use of the environment and just the sheer level of destruction that was visited upon that grocery store

The one with the orcs going after cows was also good, not for the fight (which I think was offscreen) but world building. Until then it was sort of, like, what's reality here anyway.

i did enjoy the orcs with the cows. probably just cause of the extreme accent going on in that dialogue. but i also just love this concept that someone would think clearly humans are only good cause they drink milk. like someone really watched those got milk commercials too much.

i do appreciate orcs getting some love in a way cause in my experience theyre really underutilized in a lot of fantasy settings. can find elves everywhere, but nobody wants the orcs.

speaking of not elves, i really like that this guy turned out to be the real villain from bully bully https://tapas.io/episode/1348464. partly cause it was a good twist that it was a bully victim becoming the bully. since that is very true to life. but also, selfishly, i noticed this character immediately in the background one time and i was like "ah man what an interesting looking side chara too bad well never learn about him" and then we learned about him.

QUESTION 3. Even in Kit’s dynamic world, she still has some unique mysteries surrounding her. Why do you think Kit is the only female in her family to receive Freyja’s blessing/curse, especially after it’s been so long it’s almost a myth? What do you think the story is behind Kit’s rage modes that seem to take over when she gets mad? What do you think happened to Kit’s mother, and why is Kit so sensitive about the subject of her mother in general? Additionally, why did Mary calling her mother a whore set her off in particular? Lastly, how do you think Kit got involved with being a Bounty Killer? Why do you think her family lets her pursue the career given how dangerous it all is?

in regards to the current question, i want to dissect the fact that kit's specific phrasing about her mother was that mary hadnt even cared who her mother was as a person. and to a degree, i kind of feel like it was projecting that set her off. that kit herself didnt know a whole lot about her mother. so it might not be so much that her mom was called a whore that did it, but that someone would make a bold claim about her mother when kit herself didnt even know her that well and has since lost the chance to get ot know her. but thats just me theorizing.

It's kind of a mix bag with it comes to her ears. Internally they do connect to her regular ears and she can hear through them, but only if she concentrates. Mostly they just act like a short range radar or a sixth sense. Something like spidey's spider sense.

QUESTION 4. Besides the action, there is still a lot of slice-of-life material to be had in the comic as well. Do you think Kit will eventually tell Bia about her career? How do you think Bia will react to finding out about it? What challenges do you foresee awaiting Bia and Kit as their relationship continues to develop and secrets reveal themselves? Further, how do you see Kit balancing her school life in general with her job? Will she manage to maintain her grades and everything, or will things prove tougher than she expects? In terms of Kit’s regular life, what things are you hoping to see be explored in how she lives her day-to-day life? Lastly, are there any themes (like bullying) that caught your eye from the slice-of-life segments? What about them did you enjoy?

Honestly, the bounty-hunters clashing, while not necessarily slice-of-life, felt realistic and added depth to the idea of the job. Also revealed how their methods are non-lethal. And was the first ship I considered.

just to talk a bit about the current question, i do feel its inevitable kit has to tell bia about her job. cause i mean...kit isnt the most undestructive. just takes one time of showing up burnt to a crisp to school to give it away. but i think bia is gonna take it better than kit thinks shell take it. cause tbf, if i was bia i would not be surprised.
