I actually like to think if Nightmare hates or doesn't likes cats in particular its for Neil. In canon, Dream sees Neil as his best friend and not a parent figure, but Neil sees Dream as his son </3

But i say they both see each other as family. And Neil would surely accepted Nightmare as well.

Uhhhh here's a familial swk hc that's been rotting my brain

Wukong and Erlang (in the early days... Idk pick an era) would race eachother down their respective mountains. I like to think they wouldn't use powers and would just use sleds for added fun or maybe chariots (although I don't know if China actually had any racing chariots... *shrugs*).

They never could decide who actually won so eventually they had to get Zhizhu and Baigujing to judge... which just ended up with both Wukong and Erlang bribing their sisters to favour them so no one ever really could decide who was actually better at it.

(The song "Faster" from the Prince of Egypt musical has given me the perfect visual in my head for this and I really wanna draw it).

I love that so much though? The idea of those brief open years in Heaven where SWK would just follow Erlang around and be with him and Baigujing and Zhizhu?

(the fact that that implies Zhizhu was a celestial or associated with them enough to be near them makes me so sad because it means she was probably casted out or something aaaAAAA)

BUT gods SWK probably thinks of it when he wants to think of good memories between him and Erlang </3

Lily and Todney going to the same Church that Shrignold became the pastor for is so interesting? They weren't around for the fire event were they??????

the twins actually did attend that exact day and almost didn't survive the incident but shrignold did everything in their power to make sure that several members would be able to make it out of there. before the chapel completely burst into flames and began to collapse, shrggy had shattered a few windows directing those who were still conscious out.. and when they found the twins passed out it was just very quick action to let them out. the two ended up being hospitalized but did survive thanks to how fast everything happened.
