Like, they are not boring. They are HEALTHY

They lack all of this toxic shit, that people call "spice". It's not your freaking enemies to lovers, where they hate each other half the runtime. It's not your typical straight old comedy, where they barely tolerate each other. They are not constantly on the verge of a breakup which seems to be how people view realistic relationships

These are just people, who love each other very much. Even then, they have their own "tics" that can use development, like Vaggie's (lol, it autocorrected to Maggie, is my phone Lucifer?) devotion and disregard for her own wants and needs, that actually makes sense in-univerce.

Still, even when there are huge couple-shattering revelations, they approach it as a normal, healthy people? Like, yes, Charlie is upset and she deserves to be, it was a huge breach of trust and a very personal fuck-up, but they do what normal people do? Get some space, be angry/sad for a bit, get outsider's perspective, rethink their motivation and resolve the issue in a way that their types of previously established personalities would. My only gripe with this is that they didn't get on-screen reconciliation talk, but it is a 8 20-minute-long episode show, we don't exactly have a lot of time, so even that is, although not ideal, but understandable

Stop calling healthy couples "boring", some couples are just not toxic enough for your troupe-obsessed brains

I've been thinking about it and I've been pausing to analyse the feeling and I just want to say that my God, it's literally his song.

I mean, the song perfectly understands what it feels like to have depression and it just hurt me that every word I thought more strongly about Hal.

At the beginning when he mentions "I wanna be someone like you", it could literally be anyone he knows, because Hal always thinks that anyone is cooler than him, that anything is better than him. So when he talks about how he thinks he can do it, but questions whether that would be the real him; I could interpret it as an internal fear. He wants to change because he feels that it's not right to be the way he is, that maybe if he's like someone else people will like him more or maybe they won't hate him; but he's afraid to change, because maybe that change means losing himself, however much or little Hal Jordan means. And that's when thoughts of suicide and self-hatred start to creep into his head.

He thinks about how it's better not to be there, what the world would be like without him, and oddly to his mind it doesn't sound like a bad thing. Because no one cares about Hal Jordan, no one wants Hal… He has no one, even though he tries to convince himself that there is someone. Deep down, he feels terribly lonely. Then he thinks about the world, about the universe, about his home, and he realizes how terribly disgusting and unfair everything around him is, and he thinks about what a world without pain would be like, without people feeling as miserable and unhappy as he feels; but he knows that all that is impossible and nothing more than a silly dream that he mocks himself, but that he longs to believe in just like the rest of the dreams he has while he's awake.

When he thinks and wanders into a world where he could feel happy, loved and free without the need to prove himself, without the need for the whole world to see him and approve of him in order for him to feel fulfilled. And these thoughts instead of helping him depress him, because there are days when he wakes up believing that lie that he created for himself. Sometimes being unable to differentiate if what he lived was really real or if it was an invention of his mind and that makes him feel terribly worse and he falls into an infinite circle where each thought is even worse than the previous one and the world begins to lose the brightness it once saw.

And then, the ending, the fucking ending seriously kills me. Because I can only think of one thing.

When Barry comes back to life.

Everyone has always thought that if a certain person would be back everything would be easier and Hal certainly thinks so too, so when Hal revives and Barry comes back too he can't help but feel a little bit loved, even though he probably feels he doesn't deserve it because of everything that happened back with Parallax, but when he sees Barry smile at him like that and believe in him, he can't help but feel that maybe there is something worth staying for and putting up with all the hell. He might finally have the support he's longed for and been deprived of. He might finally have a special someone to talk to who doesn't need to say much, if anything, to bring a sincere smile that Hal hasn't seen for years.

You will need to have Tampermonkey installed on your browser of choice, and once that's done, just go to the github link above, and peruse the readme to install. And voila! You have your old dash back!

The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.

You know, it would be amazing if Hollywood learned the right lesson from the success of Nimona. General Relationship HCs: Carcel Devereaux

Detective Devereaux isn’t really someone that “does” relationships. Not since their last one with Bobby Marks, but should you worm yourself into their good graces- you’ll struggle to find a better partner in all of Wayhaven

With their people skills being so low, Carcel opts to let you lead them around in your relationship

You want to head to the big city for some shopping or a movie? Sure.

Tired of prepping and cooking meals for days on end? Carcel will just pass you their phone without a moment of hesitation- order whatever you want

They’re no pushover though, just to be clear. The detective is just happy to let you have your way since they’re indifferent to the small things. It’s just a lot of “if you’re happy, I’m happy” with Devereaux.

Unsurprisingly a very polarizing partner to have, just not in the way that you might expect. For example, if you were to be flirty and forward with Carcel, they’d turn pink in the ears and be rather shy and huffy at the affection.

But if you were to be rather reserved yourself, then that just fuels Carcel’s desire to tease you until you’re nothing but a puddle of mushy goodness in their arms. 

Once you get deeper into your relationship, their ‘switchness’ comes out a little more, being able to give affection and recieve it just as freely. 

Will 100% get embarassed no matter what if you try to flirt with them while they’re in their “tough, serious detective” mode

It’s honestly a little more than amusing for the people of Wayhaven to see their terrifying detective scolding Douglas just to instantly crumble a little when you hold their hand or give them a kiss. This is probably more of a deep, deep romance thing though.

One of their hobbies is sharpshooting, something they’ve done ever since they were in middle school- using a bb gun to knock cans over at the abandoned warehouses at the edge of town

So when its time for the carnival to come into town, Carcel makes it their mission to snag as many prizes for you before the vendors run out of patience or prizes- whichever comes first

It’s the perfect chance to spoil you, certainly, but the detective can’t deny the ego boost they low key enjoy as well. It’s a true win-win situation for all but the carnival vendors.

Since they enjoy sharp shooting as a hobby, Carcel will happily take you to a range so you can test out whatever you want. There’s just something that Carcel finds enjoyable and rewarding about being able to hit a target from leagues away. Plus their ability to aim and shoot anything with precision makes for a cool party trick, just give them a rubber band and a target

Their ideal date would take them out of the stoic and intimating detective they are, bringing out the more rebellious and energetic side of the detective. They’ll be happy bar hopping, going to parties, or, if you wanted something quieter, exploring abandoned buildings and drinking.

Ironically, it’s the same buildings they have to chase teens away from all the time, the same kind of buildings they use to loiter around as a kid.

If you got with them before their days of joining the police force, then there’s probably a mural of you spraypainted somewhere on the outskirts of Wayhaven

… there’s also a small chance the same mural might be there even if you got together with Detective Devereaux after their appointment as a detective. They’ll deny any and all offiical ties to it, naturally, but their deep green eyes say otherwise

Just thinking about the rebellious Carcel Devereaux brings to mind just how different they were when they were younger

If you did manage to get into a relationship with them in university, they were the tall, scary one that everyone avoided

People still whisper about the pounding their ex got when Carcel realized that they had been used and played like a fiddle- after their breakup no less!

Less scary dog privilege and more rabid animal privilege

Can’t really cook at all, instead living off of fast food and convience store goodies so please feed this poor detective, they need a good home made meal.

Or maybe a hug, a few hugs if possible.

Forget vampire senses, Carcel’s deduction abilities are sharp, not the sharpest, but certainly sharp enough to take in the small ways your face and body moves when you speak

Over time and in a deeper relationship, Carcel will slowly become more in tune with you, taking initative to act based on what they notice

They’ll see the dirt under your fingers from gardening and get you some flowers to add color to the mix. That, or they’ll notice the way you remove tags from your clothing in distaste of the awful grating against your skin and before you know it, all the clothes they ever gift you are perfectly tagless.

Just please, spare them. Don’t say a word about this to their friends or they’ll never hear the end of it. Vampires, unsurprisingly, have great memories.
