merrill dragon age really reverse engineered an eluvian from first principles in a cave with a box of scraps and one single blighted shard. and STILL she gets no respect for it from anyone but potentially hawke, at least in a confused yet well-meaning 'are ya winning son' sort of way on the friendship path. dark days for women in STEM

(really though it seems the equivalent of a person in the middle ages putting together a nokia phone from rocks and sticks (and one coaching session from a spirit, fair enough) and then just not being able to figure out how to turn it on even though it is fully functioning. magically at least merrill is inarguably a genius. the tony stark of kirkwall. well not really that comparison falls apart pretty quickly but you see what I'm saying here lmao)

Never not thinking about how the veil must be such a sensory overload for Solas.

Like he made the thing, it’s not naturally occurring, it’s just a big ol magic spell on a near cosmic level.

It’s a running canon joke that he’s constantly measuring and making comments on the veil, but it’s bc he’s never not aware of it. That’s sounds absolutely exhausting no wonder he’s either grumpy or disassociating 90% of the time.

They're still mostly baby colors, which is all monochrome, but are juuust starting to get more colors like their underbellies and their heads are starting to lighten up, but will start shifting color eventually.

Which makes me wonder what kind of thing might happen if someone tries to study the realm hydras....

Incorrect, I am in Act 1 in not just one but three playthroughs I keep bouncing between BUT I have done my best to recreate most of the Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 companions in Baldur's Gate 3's CC, so...there's that.
