“is it always like this?” “…” “oh hell no.”
With Soup and Mathew. Bonus angst points if it's a year or two before the series and the bully is Pacifica
Ooooh!
Mathew looked over to Soup walking away from Pacifica and to him his smile faded and his eyes sunken to the ground. Mathew concerningly asked, "Hey, bud, what happened?" Soup went on to explain what Pacifica had said about him Stan, and the other Pines.
Mathew was appaled. He knew Pacifica was bad, but this? He could only ask, "...Is it always like this?"
Soup went silent, "..."
" ..Oh hell no."
And with that, Mathew marched right to Pacifica. Soup could only stay away from the screaming match that ensued between the blood siblings, with the older confronting the younger over her words, and her accusing him of never caring about her.
After Mathew left, he sat next to Soup, and they stayed sat on the grass for a solid 5 minutes, staring at the sky and listening to the world live around them, before Mathew asked, "Wanna...get ice cream to clear our heads?"
Soup readily agreed, and they headed off, hand in hand, brother and brother.

No prompt, but short fic on Mathew Pines talking to whomever you choose on how be has zero regrets leaving the Northwests?
"We met Pacifica last night," Dipper told Mathew the breakfast after Stan's party. The adopted Pines boy hadn't been at the shack.
"Soup was right about her being mean. They didn't mention she looks like you," Mabel added. Mathew hummed in acknowledgment.
"Not all blond people look the same," Soup said at the time Mathew responded, "maybe because she's my sister."
The twins laughed. "How can she be your sister? You're a Pines!" Dipper asked.
"No, she's my sister. I ran away from home because our parents are assholes."
For a second, the only sound was Soup and Mathew's forks scraping their plates as the twins stared at their cousin in surprise. "When was that?" Mable looked like she would have burst if she didn't ask that."
"About eight years ago?"
"And you left your sister." The twins looked at each other. "Do you regret it?"
Mathew chuckled. "I don't. Pacifica knows I'll help her when she wants to leave, and I have to look out for myself. Besides, if I stayed I wouldn't get you three as my cousins."

“you’re so freaking cool.” for Soup and Mathew if you'd be cool with that?
Soup watched as Mathew flipped off of a snake-tiger hybrid, wrapped his grapple gun around said hybrid, and sliced through them with his sword, landing near perfectly onto the ground.
"Well, that wasn't so tough," Mathew exclaimed as he reholstered his weapons, "But dang was it annoying. It just would not go down. Y'know what I mean, Soup?"
"You're so freaking cool."
Mathew, taken aback a bit after Soup's words, eventually smiled and patted his head, replying with, "You're pretty freaking cool too." Soup smiled as the two headed back to the Mystery Shack.
