In the Shadow of the Peak: Chasing Clear Views of Mt. Fuji from Lake Tanuki
Location: Lake Tanuki, Shizuoka, Japan Timestamp: 07:29・2024/02/28
Pentax K-1 II + DFA 28-105mm F3.5-5.6 + CP 31 mm ISO 100 for 1/400 sec. at ƒ/9.0
Embarking on my photo shoot at around 4:00 a.m., I arrived at the southwestern shore of Lake Tanuki by 6:30 a.m. The drive from central Tokyo takes just over 2 hours via the Tomei or Chuo Expressway, assuming you don’t take any breaks along the way.
Depending on the time of day and season, and if the water is tranquil without any surface ripples, you can capture a near-perfect reflection of the volcano on the lake's surface.
A snow-capped Mt. Fuji remains my perennial favorite subject to capture, especially considering the countless times I've seen the peak shrouded in haze or cloud cover in stark contrast to the rare, cherished days when the entire scene is revealed on a clear, crisp day.
Google Maps links, and links to source references available at my full write-up – a short 1-minute read (https://www.pix4japan.com/blog/20240228-tanukiko2).

Yuji Itadori (Jjk Official Fanbook)
Tumblr media
“I have already decided how my life will end.”
Age: 15 years old
Birthday: 20 march
Birth place: Miyagi
Method of enrollment: scouting
Technique: none
Ability: divergent punch, he can use black lightning
Hobby/Particular capacity: karaoke, watching the TV, imitations
Favourite food: any kind of rice bowl with something on it, noodles
Food he doesn't like: none
Source of stress: scientific subjects (he failed molecular sciences)
His type: Jennifer Lawrence (tall girls with big butts)
Q: What is the originin of the his name?
A: The surname comes from a medicinal herb, Reynoutria Japonica, while I took the name from a classmate of mine. I tried to make the names as realistic as possible.
Q: His hair are dyed?
A: No, his hair are naturals.
Q: Does he usually talk to Sukuna?
A: I wouldn't say. The two of them don't get along at all.
Q: Seems that Sukuna talks frequently when he is alone. Can he sleep at night?
A: Yes, he has no problem. Itadori can sleep comfortably also on the asphalt of the Tomei Expressway (which connects Tokyo to Nagoya).
Q: What would happen if Itadori, who has a strong resistance to curses, ate an cursed uterus Kusozu?
A: In the case that he ingested a Kusozu instead of Sukuna, the consciousness of the cursed womb would disappear and become evil energy inside of Itadori. If on the other hand, he ingested it now that he had already assimilated Sukuna, the Kusozu would be erased from the curse.
Q: Itadori practices martial arts?
A: No, none in particular. He learned some karate from his grandfather. Even the "manji-geri" we see in volume 14 was merely the best move he could think of using at that time.
Q: Which are the movies that Itadori saw during his training with Gojo?
A: I don’t remember well… I think was Léon, The Descent, The Host, Yuki yukite shingun. The film that Gojo anticipates is Deep Blue.
Q: Is there something that Itadori can’t absolutely tolerate?
A: A disgusting wickedness.
Q: Does Itadori have friends other than those at the Occult Arts Institute? Does he still in contact with his friends from middle school or his hometown?
A: He had friends like everyone else but since he only started having a cell phone after he got to the institute, you can imagine how it continued.
Q: Which type of job would make Itadori do if he had not become a sorcerer?
A: He probably would have become a firefighter.
Q: Does he have a favourite tv show or a preferred genre?
A: I imagine him like a omnivore, one who leaves the TV on and he watches it continually.
Q: Is he the type who always does homework for school is vacation homework?
A: He is the type that does his homework the day before. Anyway, even if he does his homework at the last minute, he always turns it in.
Q: What event in his hometown caused him to be called "the tiger of the Nishi School?"
A: I never thought about it. Maybe some students had tried to pick a fight with him thinking they would win and he beat them up, or he routed thugs to save someone and then people started talking.
Q: If Itadori and Todo were not sorcerers but went to the same middle school, would they have become good friends?
A: Yes, I think they would have both felt sympathy one way or another.
Q: How did Itadori feel when Yuko Ozawa asked him to take a picture together at the graduation ceremony?
A: “Ah, a photo, eh? Okay!”
Q: Itadori seems to have many hoodies. Is this a part of his character design that he particularly cares about?
A: I wouldn't say, it is just that I am used to drawing him with a hood.
Q: You once said that you don't like Itadori very much. Why choose as the main character a character with whom you have difficulty?
A: It's not that I don't like him, it's just that I'm not good at handling him and I'm trying to improve in that respect. Incidentally, given the trend, I'm well on my way to giving him a bad end.
(this translation is from italian to english, so there might be some grammatical mistakes (or maybe not). anyway i decided to start translating some pages of jjk's official fanbook because i love jjk and i would like to improve my english. you can reblog my translations no problem; it actually makes me happy to know that someone finds what i translate interesting. anyway if you decide to reblog, i would like you to use the hashtag i use, so: tomokotranslates or tomoko's translations or even both, as you prefer)

Nissan 350 Z Nismo
The differences between them, and the standard 350Z, are notable. First, the chassis for these cars are actually pulled from the line before assembly and sent to Japanese tuning company Autech for unique chassis reinforcement and stitch welding. Once put back together at Nissan, the Nismo version receives completely different suspension components co-designed with Nismo and Yamaha, as well as upgraded 330mm and 320mm Brembo brakes. To help it stand out further from the standard model, the exterior design was based closely on the Nismo Super GT championship car. When it comes to suspension, there's one item we need to address right away, there are plenty of suspension modifications on this car beyond the dampers to look at here, starting with a set of SPL solid control arm and diff bushings, as well as a Hotchkis front sway bar.The Z also still sports its factory equipped Brembo brake calipers, although everything else has been updated. The 350 has 2-piece floating rotors from Z1 motorsports and its pads are a combination of Carbotech XP12 fronts and G-Loc R9 rears. There's a master cylinder brace from Z1 as well as Goodridge braided stainless lines to help firm everything up. Power is provided by the factory equipped VQ35HR and a host of Z1 Motorsports parts. Kevin has a close relationship with Z1 and has been sourcing parts through them for nearly the entire time he's had the car. The infamous VQ shriek belts out through a set of Z1 race headers and a full Tomei Expreme Ti exhaust, including test pipes. In case you're wondering, yes, it's loud and yes, he absolutely loves it! The Z is also equipped with a set of Z1 dual cold air intakes wrapped in gold reflective DEI heat tape, as well as a Z1/Setrab 34 row oil cooler. Calling the shots is Uprev software tuned by, you guessed it, Jon Parham of Z1 motorsports. One of the first major upgrades was to ditch the internal clutch slave cylinder with a ZSpeed CMAK CSC delete kit. With that taken care of, he upgraded the clutch to an OS Giken STR2C, which he claims to be surprisingly easy to use on the street and sublime for track use. It only gets fancier as you go along, as he's swapped in a Nismo GT Pro LSD in the back as well as a 3.9 final drive and 370z axles, hubs, and bearings.
Exterior is all business. He's added a super sturdy PowerStream front splitter as well as Matchless Crowd Racing canards and tow hooks to the factory Nismo V3 aero kit. Nissan conducted a little weight loss program on the Z with a set of paint matched Fly1 full carbon fenders and a carbon hood by Matchless. There is also a set of Craftsquare carbon mirrors, which probably helped save a few more pounds, but also, they just look plain cool. Current rolling stock is a square set of Volk TE37SL in 18x10.5 et22 square fitment; wrapped in 285/35 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Movie Talk: Upgraded
Tumblr media
Source: Google Images
Ana (Camila Mendes) is an ambitious intern dreaming of a career in the art world while trying to impress her demanding boss Claire (Marisa Tomei). When she's upgraded to first class on a work trip, she meets handsome Will (Archie Renaux), who mistakes Ana for her boss– a white lie that sets off a glamorous chain of events, romance and opportunity, until her fib threatens to surface.

Not Bad, For A Rom-Com in 2024
I would not have watched this movie if my sister did not drag me to the couch with her. However, upon watching Upgraded, I'm happy to say that I judged this movie too harshly too early. I thought this was going to be another romantic comedy with mediocre plot, acting that screams cringe and overall another opportunity to give romantic comedies a bad taste.
Don't get me wrong, the storyline for Upgraded is not great and very, very predictable. However, if I do not focus on the romance, the other plot was actually not bad. Especially those scenes between Ana and Claire, and Ana with Catherine and Julian. Those scenes were the reason I enjoyed this film, not the romance.
I do stand by what I said about their acting. I like Mendes's acting, I like that I feel her character through her acting and not her in the character she's supposed to play. I did not cringe at Renaux's acting as well, but I seriously got nothing from him or his character. Throughout the entire movie, I just kept thinking Mendes was giving everything to show the romantic chemistry but Renaux was giving nothing to help Mendes show the chemistry between Ana and William. Honestly, I can watch Upgraded without the romance genre and will probably like it more.
Also, the ending was quite underwhelming and gave off vibes that they had to rush to end the film. All in all, Upgraded is definitely one of the better rom-coms out there these days.

More than $115 million was raised last week alone across a number of crypto startups. The largest raise of the week was blockchain game studio Proof of Play which netted $33 million in a round led by Andreessen Horowitz. The firm will use the funding to fuel the growth of its invite-only, on-chain pirate role-playing game, Pirate Nation. Its ambition is to create a decentralized “Forever Game” that does not rely on creator intervention or external servers to continue to operate. Crypto VC Still Healthy Bastion, an enterprise-focused crypto custody, wallet management, and digital asset trading firm, raised $25 million. The Web3 startup was launched by two former executives from a16z’s crypto division. The aim is to enable companies to integrate Web3 infrastructure into their existing enterprise technologies. Jiritsu raised $10.2 million to further its mission of revolutionizing blockchain solutions with the firm’s groundbreaking Unlimited Verifiable Compute (UVC) technology. It also unveiled its flagship product, a revolutionary asset tokenization platform called Tomei RWA.
