jack pine / wild colombine / some kinda fucking blueberry / diplolepsis polita wasp galls on rosa arkansana @ Cowles Bog, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, IN

#There were so many diplolepsis galls on the prairie roses across the trail!!#Also loved the jack pine along the trail at the start and the like. Line of them on the foredune before the lake #The cottonwood layer here was surprisingly sparse if it could even be called a layer #I want to come back in fall the sorta dune grass meadow area immediately after the dune looked like it would fuck that time of year #Fun fact the Indiana Dunes have iirc some of the southernmost jack pine in its natural range!
