Never posted this here so I thought I'd take a minute and do that now!

About a year ago while I was playing spiritfarer for the first time, I had the idea to make an OC which ended up being a self insert character of sorts! I really wanted to explore some of the different mechanics of spiritfarer characters as applied to something based off myself (like their spirit form, their associated flower, activities and events they do on the boat, etc) and how a character like that might add their own story into the larger narrative of the game, as well just what that story would even be. There's a lot of screenshot edits and drawing ideas I had that were never finished, but here's a few of the more completed pieces or concept stuff I did!
The thing about self inserts is that they get, well, personal at times. maybe even a little too personal. And considering the nature of the game, it was a really heavy topic to think about at points, so I ended up stopping work on the project after a while. (I also had a few issues when it came to screenshot editing since I could not find the right font used in the game ANYWHERE which definitely did contribute to me choosing to set it aside) But I still really like the work I did do and it is very special to me, so I'm hoping that one day I'll be able to come back to it! :)

Cringetober day 2: self insert
Self insert of me in spiritfarer :]
They are an otter and their spiritflower is lavender :] also their favorite types of food are comfort and dessert and types of food they won't eat are fine dining and anything not kosher (ie. Pork, shellfish, meat mixed with dairy, etc.)
And when they have a positive moodlet they sing on the boat :]

@driftwoodmfb Y'know what that's a wonderful idea. Here she is! I took some liberties but she should mostly be as she was in my dream.
She was an upclass person, but very kind. She had an aura of wealth and status, and while she was a bit bossy she did it out of habit and not malice or entitlement. And she would be apologetic about it. I think she had at least two tails, may have had more but I'm sticking with two.
Her quest (or one of them at least) involved searching the seas for those pink flames or orbs, which would unlock memories. I don't know if they did anything for her, but they did show Stella's memories when she / I interacted with them.
I had no visual of her spirit flower, but I gave her a necklace of bluebells because I think that'd fit her.

So I recently finished Spiritfarer, and yes, this game made me cry A LOT
So yeah, I'm braking my "no fanart" rule once again. I just couldn't resist the urge to 1. Draw Stella in my artstyle, 2. Draw my guys, as spirits from the game.
If you haven't already played this game - go and check it out. It isn't perfect, (I personally disliked the platforming part, tho I don't like platformers in general) but still I can forgive it everything, because the story is THAT GOOD.

mini-bracket 1, match 7
Daffodil (Spiritfarer): "Daffodil is a blue-eyed cat with a cream coloured coat and the games Deuteragonist. He can be controlled by player two in cooperative play. Daffodil is a friend of Stella and is always around her."
Black Cat (The Witch’s House): "The Black Cat (黒猫, Kuroneko), is an unnamed talking cat to whom Viola talks in order to save the game. The Cat will follow you throughout the game, allowing you to save your progress in case anything were to happen."

The first to say goodbye.
(Soooo....I came up with a spiritfarer au for Pokemon, along with help from a friend, and I've been playing the game way to much [both actually lol] and I came up with this little drabble[maybe its a drabble? not to sure]. Enjoy :])
Goodbyes have always been bittersweet, haven’t they?”
“You could say that. But…I’ve never been good at them, so…I wouldn’t know.”

The scene was heart-wrenching as the older Milotic spirit whispered to the spiritfarer beside her. "So... it's time," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. The circular gate behind them glowed with an otherworldly light as she looked up at it. "I never thought it would be my own son... taking me here... to the everdoor," she murmured, her voice choked with emotion.
Her gaze softened as she looked at the brunette beside her. "Moss... you've always been my sweet boy. So gentle and kind... troublesome at times... but you always came back to being... well, you," she said, her eyes shining with love. He fiddled with the hem of his sweater, trying to hide the tears that were threatening to spill from his eyes.
Her gentle touch lifted his chin, and he looked into her eyes, his heart breaking at the sight of her fading away. "Come now, let me see your face, keikikāne," she whispered. He met her gaze, unable to hold back the tears any longer. A smile crossed his features as he looked at her, and she hummed with delight. "There we are, my little nalo meli," she said softly. "There's that smile I remember... but it's not the same now, is it?" she added, her voice full of concern.
He tried to hold back his sobs, but they wracked his body as he hugged her tightly. "Ah... my sweet nalo meli... thank you. For everything," she whispered, her voice barely audible. He closed his eyes, feeling her slipping away from him. This was just part of his job, but it felt like losing a part of himself.
In moments, she was gone, having passed through the everdoor to the other side. He was left with a deep sense of loss and sadness, and he couldn't help but cry. "So long for now... Mama," he murmured, his voice choked with tears. The everlight in his hands turned into a paddle as he rowed the little canoe back to the ship, his heart heavy with grief.

The return to the ship had been eerily quiet, and Moss despised it. It was worse than he could have ever imagined. The silence was never so overwhelming before. He tried to keep himself composed in front of others, or at least that's what he convinced himself of, his voice echoing in his head. But it wasn't working, not even remotely. For the first time since he and Dune met the previous spiritfarer, he felt like a part of him was missing, leaving him hollow on the inside. He tried pushing down his emotions and burying them deep within, but they clawed their way back up, threatening to spill over. However, he knew he didn't have the luxury of wrestling with his feelings at this point. As he climbed back up onto the ship and saw the faces of the other spirits and the other spiritfarer, he realized that he couldn't ignore his sentiments as easily as he had anticipated.
Adaman, bless his soul, was the first to approach and offer a hug, but Moss shook his head and went into the cabin instead. The leafeon spirit frowned and turned to look at Dune, the other spiritfarer. "Did I do something wrong?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. Dune shook their head and replied, "No, I think he just needs some time."

(Haha...pain time. Anyways, thanks for reading my little thing. I live for tears today apparently.
Dune belongs to my friend @thewickedweiner
