FUUUCK I can't post it bc I don't want it spread online but there's this old video of me recording our TV when I was like 5-6 and whisper-yelling "Dragon Ball Z Kai" (pronounced like "dragon ball z kahhh" in a very rushed way) that I found while going through the old desktop's hard drive and like. It's so insanely funny I wish I could post it so fucking bad but I'd rather keep that as something only those close to me (who I trust not to post anywhere) get to see. But also that means nobody else will get it if I go "dragonballzeekahhhhhhhh" out loud. This pains me.
Welcome to Coco’s Review! Where I review and breakdown episodes, movies and etc and overthink every tiny detail and/or give my thoughts and opinions :D
Today I’ll be discussing Ramshackle by Zeddyzi
Ramshackle is an animated pilot by online creator Zeddyzi that’s been in development since 2010 and has a thesis film, webtoon and now an animated pilot! (I’ll be discussing the Pilot)
It’s about three street rats Vinnie, Stone and Skipp who try to survive the grimy and gross streets of Ramshackle with their various scams and schemes while trying not to die!
The animation is really good! The characters have very expressive faces and sharp silhouettes! All the designs feel so angular and have a very warm color palette! Not to mention there’s the sorta coffee paper or brown paper texture to it that I really like!!
And it takes what Disney did during their Bronze Age with the scribbly line art and that scratchy kinda feel. (even using crosshatching)
I also find it interesting how the town of Ramshackle is set in its own universe and not sticking to a specific timeline with its mix of different vintage aesthetics mixed together! (in the creator’s words)
To me it feels a lot like a mix of the Great Depression and the Victorian Era!
The humor is a lovechild of early season Spongebob and Gravity Falls! Because this pilot is so fucking funny for no reason 😭
It just has so much visual comedy and dialogue that makes you go “Did I hear that correctly??”
I’ll be honest the plot isn’t perfect but the characters and humor easily makes up for it and makes things very enjoyable!! THE LITTLE DETAILS THEY PUT IN THE BACKGROUND JUST CRACK ME UP WITH EVERY REWATCH!
These are some of my personal favorite details but it’s more fun to spot them yourself!!
I also want to talk about Maggot who is a baby the trio found and decided to try and raise!
I’m not going to spoil the ending BUT MAGGOT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
I love how they didn’t go with just the dumb baby trope with Maggot- I swear he is such an entertaining part of the pilot I’m a little sad he probably won’t appear in the series again 😔
And just the comedy they got out of him is so great I love him smm
The main trio are just as entertaining!
They complement each other so well!! The way they bounce off each other and have very different personalities but the same goals
I’ll get this out of the way VINNIE IS SO DAMN HOT ARGHHH LIKE AAAAA I LOVE HER SMM- Shes so badass and lowkey reminds me of Grunkle Stan personality wise
Stone is basically the mandatory emo boy but now hes upgraded to main character- I love his unlimited supply of alcoholic drinks and I hope tumblr loves him
Skipp is just underrated imo 😭 I love how he has a heart of gold but he also doesnt mind scamming people (he has no other choice anyway
The way theyre so caring with Maggot just warms my heart<33
THEYRE SUCH A GREAT FRIEND GROUP I CANTTT
Anyway there are only a few complaints I have- some of the jokes can be hit or miss and it gets a bit chaotic which can possibly be a little overwhelming. Bug I want to talk about the “scam” aspect of the main premise, I feel like the webtoon explored that part of the trio’s lives much better than the pilot. They could’ve done a lot of interesting scams with a baby but applying him to a baby pageant isn’t really a scam.
The obvious commentary on the high class’s treatment of the lower class feels a bit on the nose in my opinion (like it feels almost too obvious) but doesn’t spoil the experience. Like I said the humor and character still make up for it!!
I highly recommend this pilot and series!!
Congrats to Zeddyzi and their team for bringing this year long project to life!

As my last post might suggest, I've been watching through Hogan's Heroes. Making the conflict so damn silly is an interesting approach. Of course, Mel Brooks comes to mind. Feels not too far removed from Get Smart comedy, anyway (radio in the coffee pot/phone in the shoe, for instance). Hogan's an interesting kind of all-American hero, feeling a bit like what they were going for in '80s cartoons, in a dynamic with Klink and Schultz kind of like Spongebob Squarepants with Squidward and Mr. Krabs in the sense of unrealistically but charismatically walking all over them. It really feels like a cartoon.
Personally, I prefer Stalag 17 because even though the Nazis are comedically incompetent, they still represent an unlikable threat. I get what Hogan's Heroes is going for with the Nazis as so incompetent that they have to be buddy-buddy with the powerful Americans they supposedly dominate but who secretly run the prison camp, but the whole premise is intrinsically flawed for removing the context of why we should care about them as an enemy at all. Stalag 17, which the show is based on, doesn't take it to that extreme and keeps the Nazis powerful enough to be a clear threat while also depicting the American prisoners humorously subverting them. The black comedy can then be effective with the contrast in place. Like with bees building a honeycomb, they have to build the hard walls around where the sweet honey can be suspended.
In a sense, the conflict between Hogan's Heroes and Stalag 17 is a very specific manifestation of the dialog between The Great Dictator and To Be or Not to Be, where the former is very silly to the extent of risking disrespect to the victims of Nazi oppression and the latter is silly but in contrast to a clearly delineated scary threat. Mel Brooks took inspiration from To Be or Not to Be and eventually made his own version that ultimately restructures its comedy as somewhere between the original and Hogan's Heroes. I see the Jack Benny version as the real gold standard of black comedy that subverts the Nazis while still clearly framing them as a deadly threat.
Eh... but it's still funny when Hogan walks all over Klink, and Schultz pointedly ignores all signs that the prisoners aren't cowed in the least.
(nobody asked for this but here it is)
season 1: experimental new cartoon era, not quite there but has promise
season 2 though 5: golden era, every ep is comedy gold
Zeus and Casey Era I(seasons 6 through 9): this is barely even the same show, nobody's characterization is right, none of them are likeable, and half the time they don't even get character's names right
comtemporary era(Seasons 10 through 14): HEY REMEMBER THIS THING WE DID IN SEASON 3?!, HERE IT IS AGAIN BUT SLIGHTLY MORE ANNOYING!!!!
my argument for greg becoming the ceo is that it would be fucking hilarious it would be the prestige television version of the snail race episode of spongebob where patrick's rock ended up winning just pure comedy gold
OBSCURE ANIMATION SUBJECTS ARE BACK BABY! Our last subject was on FantomCat on February 2nd. Been a month and 11 days huh?
Anyways, loosely based on the book series by Mélanie Watt, the show was produced in Canada by Nelvana.
Developed by Matt Ferguson and Jillian Ruby, it was directed by co-developer Matt Ferguson, whose also a writer on the show, and aired on YTV from April 1, 2011 to August 17, 2013. In the US which is my home country, it aired on Cartoon Network and grew up with it a bit.
It aired on the channel from August 9, 2011 to June 22, 2013, only the first two seasons aired, but Qubo started airing the show on March 27, 2017, and aired the third season, with the show making its final broadcast on July 24, 2020. Qubo would also shut-down by 2021.
The series ran for a total of three seasons with 52 episodes, each episode containing two 11-minute stories, which makes a total of 104 segments. The show follows a squirrel named Scaredy and his best friend Dave, a skunk. They have adventures in their town Balsa City.
Scaredy works as a stacker at a grocery store called Stash "N" Hoard, and is fond of cleaning and is germophobic. His best friend Dave, is dimwitted and fonds being messy, and because he’s a skunk he also loves farting. Does some of what I describe sound a bit familiar to you?
This show is often considered a rip-off of SpongeBob with most characters having similar personalities to ones you may find in SpongeBob. However, that isn’t the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that this show is so ANNOYING! It’s one those shows that won’t shut-up!
It thinks that screaming and shouting is comedy gold, but it bleeds ears instead, especially with the theme song where the main characters SINGS OBNOXIOUS GIBBERISH! Yeah the voice-acting is terrible. The animation, character designs and the backgrounds are generic and dull as well.
The characters if you take the annoying voices out, are very bland and forgettable, with Dave being the worst offender, with his only trait being a self centered dumbass and being gross and that’s it. Yeah, this show is insulting to the books that were innocent and lighthearted.
I beg you to not watch this show and just stick to the books instead. Watching-wise stick to SpongeBob as its this show but less annoying, a lot funnier, better animated and better characters. As bad as seasons 6-8 were, their definitely better than this show!

Alsoooo... I've never watched James Bond so I didn't get the joke until now lol...
I got the reference of the "No, Mr Bob, I expect you to fry!" thing, yeah, obvious James Bond reference, but literally only just found out about the other parody.
For anyone wondering, there's a Bond villain who wears a similar attire to this and he's called Dr No.
I love that lmao
Anyway, have a good day lol

Today, we’re breaking down the best and worst DVD collections from some of the biggest networks in TV history. Whether you’re a fan of Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, or Disney Channel, you’ve probably seen the ups and downs of physical media releases for your favorite shows. On the best side, we’ll be talking about collections that nailed it—whether it’s an iconic sponge, some legendary benders, or a group of quirky heroes, these series set the standard for what a great DVD release should look like. With complete box sets, collector’s editions, and carefully crafted releases, they represent the gold standard in owning physical media. But not every network got it right. Some major shows suffered from scattered releases, incomplete seasons, and poor distribution strategies. Whether it’s a teen sitcom with tons of missing episodes or an animated series with random compilations instead of full collections, these releases leave fans frustrated and hunting for better options. We’ll also give a shoutout to a few honorable mentions—shows that could have been among the best but fell short due to inconsistent releases or missing content. So, join me as we dive into the highs and lows of DVD releases from networks like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel. Whether it’s a classic cartoon or a teen comedy, you’ll see which shows nailed their physical media releases and which ones completely dropped the ball. SpongeBob SquarePants (Nickelodeon) Adventure Time (Cartoon Network) Avatar: The Last Airbender/Korra (Nickelodeon) Ben 10 (Cartoon Network) The Fairly OddParents (Nickelodeon) Worst DVD Collections Keywords: Drake and Josh (Nickelodeon) The Fairly OddParents (Nickelodeon) Hannah Montana (Disney Channel) Phineas and Ferb (Disney Channel) Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends (Cartoon Network)
If there were a live-action film adaptation of the popular video game EarthBound, also known as Mother 2, it would require a talented cast to bring the beloved characters to life. Here is a list of potential actors who could portray each character.
1. Ness:
- Jacob Tremblay: Tremblay's performances in films like "Room" and "Wonder" have showcased his ability to convey vulnerability and strength, making him a suitable choice for Ness.
2. Paula:
- Mckenna Grace: Grace has impressed audiences with her performances in films like "Gifted" and "Captain Marvel," displaying maturity beyond her years.
3. Jeff:
- Jaeden Martell: Known for his performances in films like "It" and "Knives Out," Martell has demonstrated his range as an actor and ability to play characters with technical expertise.
4. Poo:
- Henry Golding: Known for his roles in films like "Crazy Rich Asians" and "The Gentlemen," Golding has the presence and talent to bring Poo to life.
5. Giygas:
- Doug Jones: With his extensive experience in creature performances, Jones has the ability to bring the otherworldly and terrifying presence of Giygas to the screen.
6. Pokey:
- Finn Wolfhard: In addition to Jeff, Wolfhard's versatility could also make him a suitable choice for Pokey, capturing both his conniving nature and eventual redemption.
7. Buzz Buzz:
- Tom Kenny: As the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants, Kenny has proven his talent for voicing animated characters with a mix of comedy and heart.
Please note that these casting choices are purely speculative and based on the actors' previous performances. The actual casting decisions for a live-action EarthBound film would depend on various factors, including the director's vision and availability of actors at the time of production.
some more Press Buttons and Talk sketches from their AA3 playthrough, which is absolutely brilliant in every way, thank you @armanky and @prozdvoices for giving me thirty extra lives
