The prompts are in and our list has been finalized! As per our guidelines, any participants are free to interpret the prompts as they see fit, but if anything is unclear or you'd like a little more direction, we've got a handy guide below the cut!

February: Duty/Work. This week is themed around the job-- as Subway Boss, Warden, or anything that suits your vision!

(On the) Job Training: What did it take for Ingo to get where he is? Was it fun? Difficult? Is he trying to learn the ropes for a second time?

Team Track: It's very interesting to see a person coordinate and work so closely with their sibling well into adulthood. How do the twins work together? What's their favorite part? Does it ever get annoying-- on purpose, or just by way of how tight knit they are?

Accommodation: Are there any daily challenges that Ingo needs help with? What does it take to communicate with lips that won't emote? Does he have any injuries or conditions that he needs to keep on top of to stay in working order?

Foreign Travel: The Subway Boss has been all over Unova, and the Warden knows his way around the Hisui, but where else has he been? Did he see anything interesting, or meet new people and Pokemon?

Workplace Injury: Even the best safety measures can't prevent every injury. Has Ingo ever been injured on the job? Had to tend to someone else?

Station Master: What's a trainer without their team? Whether or not it's a Pokemon he trains or handles, show us a Pokemon you associate with Ingo!

Emergency Exit: It's important to know where your entry and exit points are; be it a mechanical failure, cave in, or routine evacuation drill, show or tell us about a time escape was the only option.

March: Off-Duty/Home. This week, it's time for a break! Whether home is Unova or Hisui, it's time to settle in and rest.

RXR: Not a railroad crossing, but rest and relaxation! What's the best way to make use of time off the clock? IS there time off the clock, or is work never ending?

Maintenance: It's best to leave work at work, but sometimes it comes home with you. What needs to happen to keep this a well oiled machine? Alternately, what might a sick day look like?

Diversion: Some people breed Pokemon and some attend musicals. What kind of hobbies does Ingo keep? Any particularly notable interests (apart from the obvious)?

No Legendaries on the Train: This couldn't go any earlier, or we'd be breaking the rules. Does Ingo have any ties to or friendships with a legendary or mythical Pokemon? Maybe you associate him with one? What's the story there?

:3 : Everybody smile!

Dining Car: Whether it's unique preferences, sensitivities or preparation, everybody has opinions where food is concerned. What are some of Ingo's?

Familiar Tracks: Unova is a region with a deep history and culture, and Hisui is set in its own ways. Does Ingo observe any traditions? Hold any cultural beliefs?

April: Truth & Ideals. This week is about history and aspiration!

Admission: How, exactly, did Ingo end up in Hisui? Whether you ascribe to his version of events or what the art book seems to imply, there's a story there, so what is it?

Rookie: What was life like before assuming his job? Was his role something he strove toward, or fortunate happenstance?

Branching Line: We have a very good idea what one member of Ingo's family is like, but apart from Emmet, who else is there? Familiar faces? Someone we've never seen? Is there anything interesting in the twins' family tree?

Pearl Clan: The Pearl Clan took Ingo in, but then what? Under what circumstances? Are they happy to have an outside perspective, or are those rough tracks to travel?

Ghost Train: There are ghosts in Ingo's past, both literal and figurative. Does anything continue to haunt him?

Historical Accuracy: We've seen traces of Hisui in modern day Sinnoh, so let's crack open a history book. How, if at all, is Warden Ingo remembered?

Everything Changes: Things won't be the same when (or if) Ingo finally gets home, but that's not always a bad thing. Show us that different doesn't mean worse.

May: Dream World. This week is about what we won't see on screen, so make sure your imagination is in high gear!

Off-Script: We've gotten a peek into a world where Ingo didn't wind up in Hisui, so let's explore that idea. Whether he disappeared and wound up somewhere else, or stayed safely in Unova, what else do you suppose could have happened?

Fresh Coat of Paint: It's well established how attached Ingo is to his coat, but let's give it a break of its own. Whether it's for fashion, fun or function, it's time to play dress up!

Alternator/X-ing: Do you have an AU or crossover you'd like to tell us about? A favorite you want to dip into? Now's the time!

Mirror Image: Maybe things got a little too intense yesterday-- now we're looking at two of the same person! Is Ingo interacting with a past or future version of himself? An alternate universe counterpart? Give us a peek into how it goes!

Train of Thought: Do you have any headcanons you want to share? If there's nothing in particular, then tell us a little bit about how you view Ingo. No two individuals-- or their thoughts-- are exactly identical, after all!

Union Station: It's a big world out there, with an impossible amount of interesting people! Who's someone you'd like to introduce Ingo to? Maybe it's an unlikely friendship or rivalry?

A Higher State: Where do we go from here? Whether it's what you think is most realistic, compelling, or what you personally want to see, give us an ending!

Update on the computer situation!

So, my laptop’s battery was beginning to swell apparently. Carefully had disposed of it as it was a hazard.

However, the laptop still didn’t turn on. Got some help from a friend in IT, and after some tests they more or less confirmed the motherboard was dead.

So, the plan is to salvage my hard drive, and just move forward to build a desktop. Something I had wanted to do for a while. My laptop could only carry me so far. (Though I’m still pretty upset it died ;w; I did everything on it...)

Until then, I may be opening comms, and a kofi or patreon. I’ll still be writing my personal fics I have started, no worries. Any extra money I get will probably go towards building the pc. Anything helps at this point!

I can still write on my phone and Ipad (though both are very old...)

So please forgive me in advance if updates on fics and answering asks are a bit slow. Thank you for understanding 💜

Spring of Ingo Day 17: Branching Line

One of the first stories I came up with for this fandom, but never actually tackled, dealt in the fact that anime-verse Iris has an Excadrill that doesn't listen to her for quite some time. That always seemed promising.

😅Ah, well this is awkward-

I haven't drawn Gravity Falls in quite a while. And with this sudden fandom resurgence following the book of Bill.. I actually went back and privated a huge chunk of my Gravity falls posts. :x

My reasoning for this is that looking back, a lot of those old posts are rather embarrassing for me 💀 now I respected them all as stepping stones to where my blog is now so I didn't actually DELETE any posts!! But now with the fandom coming back people are finding them aaaannddd.. when ever I get a notification of someone liking an old cringey Gravity Falls post of mine? I just go beet red. uhhg they're sooooo embrassingggg...

SO! For my own comfort, I privated lot of those embarrassing posts. I didn't delete them in case I change my mind and want them back in the future- but they should all be hidden.

Now that that's explained, the comic you're talking about is likely one that I privated parts of out of embarrassment. But if you happen to have a link to one of the parts or can remember the what the comic was about... mayyyybe I could go back and un-pivate it.? <XD But just that comic! It depends on how beet red I turn when I see it-- :x

I've heard of cult of the lamb, seen a lot of fanart for it- and several of my friends play it!... But I still don't know much about it <XD Isn't it like a cult simulator or something..? Idk-- the cult imagery just didn't really feel like my thing 😅

No that's not me saying that Emmet loved Ingo less or was emotionally stronger than him- but Emmet sees Ingo as his strong and capable older brother. With some comfort from Elesa, he believed at his core that Ingo could handle what ever he was facing out there.. although his body was wracked with worry..

If the roles were reversed.. I mean.. man..

Ingo sees Emmet as his precious baby brother. Despite them being only minutes apart in age. He knows logically that Emmet is just as strong and capable as he is.. but just imaging his baby brother out there.. wounded and all alone.. he should have been there. he should have done more. He's all alone. What if he never sees him again? What if he dies alone out there?

The separation would quite possibly destroy Ingo..

I don't have many clear ideas for Home yet.. I'm thinking that its pretty sentient. Home can problem solve, make assumptions and learn..

What does it think of everything... I'm not quite sure. I imagine Home to be curious though, and that's why it watches Wally sleep and why it watched Eddie at the Christmas party..

I also pictured Home to have been in an almost coma/zombie like state back when it was dilapidated.. but then I wonder if Poppy would still be spooked by it.. hmm..

It couldn't have been comfortable in that state at least. So when Wally fixed it up, maybe Home was grateful? Or maybe Home is just kind'a coming to and doesn't know how to feel about the neighborhood springing up around it.. overall I kind'a want to keep these general malicious undertones to Home... 👀

Yeah, I didn't have them crushing on each other because I don't like writing romance stuff for characters that are not my own.. <XD

But this doesn't mean that Eddie and Frank cant have a strong platonic bond in my au! :0 One thing I imagined for their friendship is how they met/how it started.

I had this picture in my head that Frank used to butt-heads with the other neighbors a lot more than he does now. Frank had a certain way of talking and expressing himself that some of the other neighbors didn't really understand.. and since Frank can be irritable at times.. well.. I guess the best way to put it is that Frank had a hard time making friends at first..

I imagined that on a particularly bad day, where nothing seemed to be going his way.. Frank was huffing and puffing and just grumbling to himself.. attending to some chores around the house and just overall feeling down. At some point, he realized the package he ordered should be here any second now.. so he stepped outside to check the mail.

When he went outside, whaddya know! The new mailman was here right on time and putting his package in the mailbox. Well FINALLY something went right for him! That's a nice change..

I imagined Frank went out in a huff to grab the mail, not intending to chat.. but 10 minutes later and he was still stood outside talking to the new mailman.

I thought that when Frank spoke to Eddie, Eddie listened intently and waited patiently for his turn to talk without interrupting. When Eddie talked to Frank, he basically asked all the perfect questions in the perfect tone to get Frank to simmer down.

Eddie told him how beautiful his garden looked, and with his tone and bright smile, you could tell he meant it! Well that's a nice thing to say..

Frank asked how he feels about the neighborhood. And Eddies responses were relatively quick and to the point. Huh.. its nice to have no filler in this conversation considering how grumpy he was today..

Eddie makes a comment about Franks nice clothes, Frank chuckles and comments that his grumpy expression probably doesn't make them look any nicer.. Eddie is a little taken aback, "I didn't think you looked grumpy.. I'm sorry to hear you're feeling down today neighbor.." Huh.. someone who doesn't just see his frown and assume he's a grump. That's a really nice change..

By the end of their conversation, Franks day had been completely flipped on its head. He had a nice chat with the new neighbor and got his mail right on time. Eddie was respectful, interested in what Frank had to say, and had plenty of genuine compliments to spare.

Since that excellent first impression on Eddie's part, their friendship would grow and grow into what it is today. Not a romantic relationship, but definitely a best friend situation for sure. :)

Their personalities are kind'a opposite. Barnaby is relaxed, laid back and always cracking jokes. Howdy is always on the move (in the warmer months). Always darting from shelf, gotta stock stock stock! Gotta go go go! Got so many things to do!

Barnaby usually hangs out in the shop and chats with Howdy. They like to talk about life, their opinions on different topics. And of course exchange jokes back and fourth XDD

I imagine their friendship is strong enough that they've opened up about some darker things. About their pasts and what not..

She's thought about telling someone else. The people she would trust the most would probably be Wally, Barnaby, Poppy and Sally.

Though she's afraid if she shows Wally, he'll be afraid of her. Just like all the other humans were...

She thought about telling Barnaby because he's so laid back and easy going.. perhaps he'd accept her for who she is.. but Barnaby really values honesty.. maybe he'd be upset that she lied to him about who she really is and wouldn't want to be her friend anymore..

She almost told Poppy, but backed out last second. She doesn't want to scare poor Poppy..

She's considered telling Sally.. and since Sally has a similar story to her.. maybe she'd be really understanding and accept her.. but she wasn't sure. So she never told her..

I'd like to imagine Home does, but Wally either doesn't notice them or thinks they're just normal old house things :0

For example, the first picture in this post shows Home before Wally restored it. The peeling paint was supposed to be like rotting flesh, showing a pale red wood underneath.. bright red wood exists in their world, but its not usually that shade of red...

I thought about there occasionally being a faint blowing sound somewhere in the house. Accompanied by drawn out rise and fall in temperature though all the rooms. Wally would say the windows don't seal that well or the walls have poor insulation.. Other's would say it feels like breathing..

I've considered that when Wally tries to hang a picture, the walls leak some kind of thick fluid. Obviously meant to be blood- but I miiiight not go with that one. Since that would be a big glaring problem that would grab Wally's attention-

Also I'm actually pretty thin on ideas for Howdy.. although I DO have these headcannons about Howdy not liking winter/the cold! :0

I imagined that Howdy can't handle the cold at all <XD In the wintertime howdy is constantly cold, hungry and sleepy. This makes him move really slowly and show up late to everything 😔Thankfully he has his good pal Barnaby to lend a hand around the shop. But it just sucks that he's so exhausted in the wintertime and can hardly get anything done..

Every season spent with your Sawsbuck hybrid boyfriend could easily prove to be an interesting one. Summer brought with it verdant leaves growing atop large antlers that made such lovely tea when dried and brewed. It was a pleasant treat to share with any kind of dish… Well, Ingo's certainly was. A linger bitter, herbal flavour that also was a lovely drink for a minor cold. He always seemed flustered when you complimented his leaves.

The autumn brought an array of colours and the need to sweep up after them. A beautiful sight, but a big mess. At least the developing fluff was nice to nuzzle into and nap against. Winter came with the complete loss of leaves and shedding of antlers. The massive fluff at least made up for the sad loss. Spring thus renewed the cycle as the antlers began to regrow, and flowers began to swell into a blossom.

Of course, there was one piece of this cycle that fascinated you the most. The fallen antlers mostly came in the earliest months of the year and often were difficult to find. Ingo naturally was a bit embarrassed by his sudden urge to knock off his antlers and disappeared off into the forest to do so. You had found yourself enamoured with the idea of going out to collect them. Many people did, after all. It was just a thing to do when you were hiking. However, you specifically wanted some of Ingo's own. The idea of having some random Sawsbuck's antlers felt a bit odd, and your boyfriend would likely feel a bit jealous or confused.

This led to you following the deer man out into the woods when he took off one late February afternoon and watched as he found a tree and began to rub his antlers against the bark. His face broke its usual stoicism as it twisted in a rare frustration. His brows narrowed, and his lips pursed. It was clear that the feeling was not something overly pleasant. Eventually, though, a good knock saw the left on free itself and fall onto the dirt below. Ingo let out a sigh when it fell. Again, he returned to the task, determined to remove the right. It, too, fell. He then backed away and ran back off into the woods, do to whatever he preferred to do around this time of year. You crept over and picked up the discarded antlers with intrigue.

They felt similar to a smooth, petrified wood. Hard and inmalleable yet clearly something earthly. A slight scent even drifted from them. You hummed as you took your prizes back home, debating just what to do with them. Hanging them up seemed like an interesting possibility, but the way it would mix with a room's decor would play a part. Just as you pondered it more and more, a fun thought crossed your mind.

Ingo felt exhausted as he trotted back to your home after having a nap in some distant field. Winter was just a tiring season. He always thought. His body clearly entered some state of reservation, while he became less inclined to aggression and general movement. Spring, however, was soon to come, and with it would bring more exhaustion as the blooms on his antlers began. This would not fare well with his work. He already felt flustered enough, having to take off to regain himself. His body tormented him even worse by giving him a late shedding this year. The relief of finally doing so was not something to be understated, of course.

He rubbed his eyes as he opened the door and announced his presence. With no reply, he blinked. Were you asleep? Entering properly, he carefully crept through the home so as not to disturb you. The soft taps of his hooves upon the hard floor came to a sudden stop. Stepping near the living room, he spied a distressing shape within the dimness of the room.

Antlers sprang out from someone's head as they sat facing the television screen. Ingo held his breath. An… intruder? It certainly did not seem to be Emmet as he had just left his younger twin not that long ago. Carefully moving in, he tried to wonder his next course of action. Without antlers of his own, he would not put up too good of a fight against another Sawsbuck hybrid. He finally entered the room and nearly screamed when the person turned to face him.

“Oh, hey, Ingo!” Your voice startled him more than anything, “I was wondering if you had got lost or something.” You faced him, clearly still yourself, but with antlers on your head. The dim light made it impossible for him to tell how you had them on your head, but he fought back another scream when you casually slid them off. “Look what I made,” you approached him, “I followed you out today and took your antlers. I hope you don't mind.” Ingo blinked.

“P-pardon?” he replied. You stepped towards a wall. The light was flicked on, and he understood. A headband. You had made a headband. “Oh, bravo!” he almost found himself clapping. It was quite creative. “You could have simply asked for my antlers,” he gave a normal reply after calming down, “There was no need for you to venture out in this cold, dearest.” Though, he did find it a bit strange. Perhaps it was from his perspective of having antlers naturally at play. You gave a small laugh and smiled.

“You looked so startled,” you finally told him. Ingo felt his cheeks flush. Had he? His heightened heartbeat certainly confirmed that claim.

“… All I saw was another being with antlers on our couch,” he explained, “Would you not be distressed if you saw another Sawsbuck hybrid in your home?” You thought on it for a moment before nodding.

“Hey, Ingo?”

“Yes?”

“When your antlers regrow, will you battle me?”

Ingo felt even more exhausted suddenly.
