Help trans Floridians affected by Hurricane Milton!
Tumblr media
Check out how to donate in our linktree!
After getting feedback on most immediate needs for Hurricane Milton relief, we're setting this initial goal to help Florida trans folks through power & food loss, fueling, hygiene needs & more. We will be posting updates as we distribute funds.
Currently there is a need for $70 to cover travel & some pet food for individuals relocating to South Florida and staying with family until power is returned next week.
^ This goal has been met!! 🩷
There's also a need for $70 to help purchase food for another individual.
We also currently need to purchase some phone chargers & flashlights / batteries to distribute (probably around $200 as a rough estimate). Then there's otherwise general food & hygiene needs, which would bring up the rest of the total. We will obviously probably go beyond $500 in needs, but this was just to get something going for now. We will continue to update as things progress.
Most of this is within the Tampa or St. Pete area as well, so if you're able to donate items or further assist in any way, please DM!
Any larger individual needs, please continue to use our crowdfund application (link in bio) & we will post on your behalf as usual.

St. Petersburg, FL May 22-27, 2025
I visited my friend Britt, her husband, and her daughter Odette for Memorial Day Weekend in St. Pete, FL. It was literally the most perfect trip and I am still beaming. I cannot believe I just met Britt this past February when I went to St. Pete by myself for a solo trip. She truly feels like family. We stayed up until 12am most nights chatting. Our connection is just so easy and effortless. We have so much in common: values, hobbies, interests, morals, music taste, etc. Speaking of music taste... I bought Wolf Alice concert tickets for September without knowing who I'd go with, and I found out she likes them (such a niche indie band) and we are planning for her to visit me in Philly to go! So many weird coincidences.
We went to numerous bars and restaurants, Pass-A-Grille Beach, shopping on Central Ave, and she hosted a Memorial Day barbecue pool party in her backyard where they made smash burgers, hot dogs, watermelon, and all the other quintessential MDW foods. It was just so lovely. I honestly think St. Pete is such a gem of a city in Florida. I just love the progressive/liberal oasis in the south. I love the access to beaches, sunshine, warmth, and a happening downtown area. I have not completely ruled out the idea of moving there. It's definitely been a thought that has crossed my mind... and the more I am there, the more the thoughts penetrate.
I just feel so grateful and lucky to have met Britt. Her family welcomed me with open arms and it was the easiest, most fun and relaxing time. I want to bottle up and soak in this feeling.

Farewell to Sidewalk Astronomy in St. Pete
Tomorrow is supposed to be my final day of sidewalk astronomy in St. Pete, but the forecast is working against us. Being deep within the annual transitional period the Gulf Coast experiences throughout April and early May, I knew chances of a clear night for the send-off were drastically dropping the further into May we got – and it seems the weather is against us. While I do have a rain date…

“It might then be that the division of the human brain is also the result of the need to bring to bear two incompatible types of attention on the world at the same time, one narrow, focussed, and directed by our needs, and the other broad, open, and directed towards whatever else is going on in the world apart from ourselves.”

Donate to continue to assist trans Floridians impacted by Hurricane Milton!

We've raised $144 / $500 so far for Hurricane Milton Relief! We've funded a trip for some people to travel towards relief from power loss heat & bought a power bank for someone else in need. Unfortunately, the stores were sold out for immediate availability, but this will still arrive for this individual to have FOR FREE & use for any future outages. We used the last of our money left today to help someone buy groceries.
✨Please keep spreading the word! Links to donate are here.
These donations are having a direct impact on trans Floridians (a majority so far being bipoc trans folks), providing not only resources but hope & a feeling of being loved & seen - something that surpasses everything else, esp in times of crisis.
