I haven’t spoken about anything like this on my blog yet but seeing the news and media everywhere is making my chest cave in a way I don’t think I can ignore. I don’t want to ignore it.

As a young woman in this society, among millions and billions of different people, my voice may not reach the places it needs to, but saying something is better than saying nothing. The protests, the violence, the horrific terrorist attacks, the innocent lives being targeted and killed, taken from their homes, families destroyed, homes bombed, towns completely obliterated.

ICE and many other agents of the United States, the government claiming to “be for the people” and “defend the people” are currently enticing the new holocaust. We have seen this before in history textbooks that we barely studied because we believed we didn’t need to remember that kind of stuff when we were older. We have heard of World Wars, genocides, mass destructions. We are the new era of world domination, and nothing is going to change unless WE change it. Stand for what’s right. Stand for the PEOPLE, for the CONSTITUTION THAT DECLARES PEACE AND UNITY. DO NOT stand for a man who wants to destroy a nation purely for his own sick and twisted beliefs. DO NOT stand for a man who wants to have everything only for himself, to have a military who works for the government and for the American people, work for him personally instead.

Stand for the families torn apart. The people unlawfully detained and declared ‘illegal’. Stand for the mothers and fathers who held their children’s bodies on top of the rubble that used to be their homes. Stand for the grieving families who were torn to pieces. Stand for the brave men and women who stepped up and took charge for what was right. Stand for the people who cannot. Stand for the people who were mercilessly slaughtered and were never given the justice they deserved. Stand for yourself, your future, your children and grandchildren’s future.

Think ‘but it’s not me, so why do I have to fight for it?’, but remember that YOUR PRESIDENT IS CURRENTLY SHOOTING INNOCENT PROTESTORS ON YOUR STREETS FOR CONTESTING THIR RIGHTS.

I understand the world is scary, dangerous, and unfair. That’s why it’s up to us to change it, to force the government to stand for what’s right and help lead our country to a standstill, once and for all. Seize the destruction of Palestine and Gaza that has been pursued EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY since the early 2000s. Force the government to understand their wrongdoings. Force the President — A FELON, to stand down from his position and get him behind bars. Force the country to take action.

NO ONE IS ILLEGAL ON STOLEN LAND.

The destruction and genocide is not going to stop unless we make it stop. The time to fight is now. We have been fighting for peace for decades, our ancestors fought the same battle we are fighting now. We are the new history. We will be the pages in history books that children will be reading years from now thinking, ‘Why do we need to remember this stuff?’, ‘Why was the world so cruel?’. Remember that your kids are the future, WE are the future.

I may not have a large platform nor a large voice, but I will make my voice as powerful as I can. I will die fighting for the peace everyone deserves. I will die for the people who were killed in cold blood and for the people who never got the chance to speak up.

Free Palestine. Protect Gaza. Advocate for an end to military funding and support for humanitarian aid. Raise awareness. Remind people of their rights. Hold corporations accountable. Speak up. Do anything.

The world is counting on you.

Ive said this before but swear the biggest skill to learn as an adult is how to resist high-pressure sales tactics. You do NOT have to answer questions with anything other than "Sorry I'm not interested." No matter how nice they are or no matter how many follow up questions they ask or even how agitated they get when you stand your ground. Just keep saying I'm not interested. Don't answer their questions. Don't give them an opening to try to push back on your reasons. Be a fucking brick wall of I'm not interested.

I was honestly confused when Kendrick agreed to perform at the Super Bowl. Hell I was confused when Rihanna did. But at that point I didn’t know that Jay Z is now basically in charge of the half time shows for the NFL now. And now that Sza and all these other black artist are performing (Beyonce I expected) I’m just sitting here shaking my head.

This is the same organization that black balled Colin for standing or I should say kneeling for his people. And now his people, mainly Jay Z, has slapped him in the face by having all these black artist performing at the games. The NFL knows exactly what they were doing when they joined forces with Jay Z because the black dollar still matters and losing the black audience would have been detrimental for the NFL. But before this point in time black people barely performed during half time shows. No surprise there. But now they ain’t calling on Maroon 5 and Katy Perry or Christina Aguilera or Bruno Mars. Now suddenly it’s all hip hop and R&B. Janet Jackson was one of the very few black women to perform at a Super Bowl and she was humiliated and black balled as if she did something wrong. THIS is the organization that we shucking and jiving for now. I can’t believe this shit.

They want us to shut up on topics that matter to us. Call us sons of bitches when we refuse to sing their anthem while our men and boys are being lynched in the streets. but want us to shuck and jive to entertain them and that is exactly a white supremacist’s MO. But the real kicker is Eminem was the only one to stand on fucking business. He showed up, kneeled and didn’t rap shit! This man is white and got more respect for the black community than some black artist do. Hell than some black people do. Granted he’s one in billions, but still.

I hope going into these next few years we (black people) learn to stand for something and stand 10 toes down on it. Never budging, regardless of how uncomfortable it might make us feel in the moment. I’m sure Colin felt alone in his crusade and he did that shit anyway. And he’s STILL to this day working for the community over everything else. More of us need to be on that level.

But until then, at least I won’t be watching any performances or anything NFL related. Period. Folks don’t stand for shit so they fall for anything and everything. If we could all not watch the Super Bowl especially this year during Black History Month, that would be a real show of unification. I’ll just leave it there.
