- So let’s hear. Let’s hear how you lie yourself out of this one.
- I heard a shot. I went to investigate. And then I found him.

That prop on the near right, that is some pure cheap scifi nonsense from the 90s.

I know the shipping scene is (unsurprisingly) fairly big, however I personally can't help but find unconventional bonds and complex friendships so much more compelling.
Anyway, there are so many moments between McKay and Sheppard that almost feel as if he suddenly got stuck with a new step-brother, whom he doesn't really care for or respect at first, but then turns out to be super cool, so he ends up constantly trying to challenge, impress and imitate him.
From a neurodivergent perspective, it very much feels like Sheppard quickly became McKay's "special person" and so it's very understandable how much he values his opinion and trust over others'.
John is one of the, presumably, rather few people, who not only can stand Rodney's personality (despite his many flaws) but also actively chooses to be around. I can assume, the only other person that ever came close to that, must've been his actual sister (before their fallout)

Okay. Y'all know that one Stargate post that talks about how, in a way, every Stargate fanfic AU is canon because of that one episode in season 9? Well, I was thinking about my Stargate fanfic AU, and now I can't stop thinking about that episode, but with my AU thrown in there. Like, it wouldn't change the way the episode worked because it would just be my AU tossed into the already buzzing throng of SG1s, but regardless.
Just...I can't stop thinking about what Canon SG1's reaction would be to my AU SG1 that still has Jonas as a member. And like.....the fact that there were no other Jonas-es there at all. (I know I'm nowhere near the only one to make a Jonas stays AU. But this is me imagining my AU in the canon show, where we never see, or hear any mention of Jonas Quinn.)
I want to work my AU through the seasons of the show, changing things as I go, and maybe moving little things around as I need to. But when I tell you that this thought has taken over my brain, I'm not joking. I could go much more in depth about this. I'm not going to right now, of course. But I really could. (the only thing stopping me is a need for sleep. I have work in the morning lol)

@trainofcommand challenged me to use as many prompts from this list as possible and write a fic.
“Hey, buddy,” he says, taking a cautious step forward, wary of the erratic swing of Ronon’s arm. “Why don’t you hand me the knife?”
Ronon doesn’t turn, keeps his knife between him and the vines as he growls back, “Not a good idea. Have you seen this thing?”

I really don't understand why people act like they're being forced to participate in fandom? I see so many bitter posts on here about hating xyz part of fandom and it's like....okay? So filter it out. So block the tag. So just don't participate. Not everything is for you, thats fine. Why act like it existing at all, or it being popular, is some affront?
