Wriothesley, in the middle of a conversation with Neuvillette:
"fuck me if I'm wrong but–"
Neuvillette, interrupting him without looking up from his papers:
"you're wrong."
Wriothesley:
"e-eh...?" 😅
Neuvillette, now intently staring at Wriothesley with narrowed eyes:
"I said, you're wrong, Wriothesley."
Wriothesley:
😳

currently thinking about that one moment from thh that was lost in translation… that bit from the first trial where they’re discussing aoi’s alibi (in reference to getting the knife) and how she was in the kitchen with sakura the whole time?
this is how the conversation goes in the english translation
obv in english this can be chalked up to him just like… not knowing her name. but the reason he asks is because when aoi mentions sakura, she refers to her as sakura-chan and everyone else atp only knows her by her surname and MAYBE an honorific (or a flat out insult, thank u hiro hagakure)
so um. what if they’re best friends and then what if they’re in love and uhm. yuri. send tweet <3

So I’m sick with Covid (RIP me) so I have time to answer random Archaeology / Egyptology questions, and I just saw this on twitter so lemme nerd around a bit:
“Can anyone tell me, in the surviving Roman frescos - like pictured - is the pale green representative of the colour at the time of painting or is it less vibrant than the other colours due to differential fading?“ ¹
And the answer is, as with most things: Both, kinda?
a) green tends to fade fast, you notice this a lot with green hair, it’s bright for like the first 2 washes, and then bam, you’re left with swamp hair.
b) the pigments they used, back then, were mostly based on two minerals:
Celadonite (K(Mg,Fe2+)(Fe3+,Al)Si4O10(OH)2) and Glauconite (K,Na)(Fe3+,Al,Mg)2[(Si,Al)4O10(OH)2]), both of which are more of a grey-green or blue-green. ²
Now looking at other examples of green pigment in Roman art you notice relatively quickly that they mostly used darker shades of green (jewel tones), and highlighted them in yellow, like in the Villa of Livia in Prima Porta:
Let’s look at the different greens here:
As you can see, they’re all either very yellow-toned, or jewel-toned. Except, to our eyes, they fresco looks pretty accurate to an IRL garden, right?
Finally, they also occasionally used Copper(II) acetate ( Cu2(OAc)4(H2O)2 ) which gives you a blueish-green pigment. You can spot that on older copper roofs or statues that contain copper. The colour this pigment produces is also not what we’d nowadays call a “bright” green.
Compare that to the green used in Egyptian wall paintings, and you’ll notice they used a lot of the same green pigments, most of which are copper-based: ³
- Malachite Verdigris (CuCO3 Cu(OH)2 Cu(CH3COO)2 (Copper based)
- Chrysocolla(Cu,Al)2H2Si2O5(OH)4·nH2OA (Copper based)
- Copper chlorides Cu2Cl(OH)3 (Copper based)
- Egyptian blue or Egyptian green CaCuSi4O10 Cu glass (Copper based)
- Green earthK(Mg,Fe2+)(Fe3+,Al)[Si2O10](OH)2 (K,Na)(Fe3+,Al,Mg)2(Si,Al)4O10 (same green pigmets the Romans used)
Looking at this, it’s no surprise that most “green” things in Egyptian art are actually more of a blue-ish colour, fe. these wall-paintings from the tomb of Nebamun (18th dynasty):
Which brings me to another interesting point: The Egyptians called the sea/ocean the wD-wr, the “great-green” - sure, they had a word to denote “blue”, related to the word for lapis lazuli (xsbD - lapis lazuli-coloured) - but they still called the ocean green :)

Hold on imma ask what Stefs hates. I need to know more about them outside of the fact they are absolutely PACKIN
What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?
Stefs absolutely HATES snobby types, people she views as rude, being interrupted (though she often interrupts people herself), and birds. Stefs is terrified of birds.
Stefs tends to get snippy and sarcastic with anybody who gets on her nerves. It's rare, but it does happen.

do you actually like stefanos? i cant tell
I can't tell either!
Like, okay, his tennis first of all. It's so pretty. When his game's On it's so good to watch. A single-handed backhand is never not sexy.
Also, he looks Like That. I never said I wasn't shallow.
He's socially awkward and kinda clueless. He can be sweet and funny and thoughtful. He can also be petty and mean. I often think his isolation on the tour smacks of the weird kid being ostracised at school and it's really unfair. Then he says stuff like the 'few tools' comment about Andrey and I can't blame people for not wanting to hang out with him.
His dynamic with his family is... not great. How much that has to do with his apparent determination to be the worst version of himself, I don’t know. But he definitely needs space from them. His lack of friendship and support outside of the family unit will make this significantly harder. I feel bad for him.
He's annoying as fuck.
Being annoying as fuck is not the worst thing a person can be, especially on a tour littered with domestic abusers, anti-vaxers, and tax dodgers (though, he is one of the tax dodgers, so...) but the trouble with annoying people is they're, well, annoying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Tl;dr: I want to like him, but god he makes it really fucking difficult.

modern au in which neuvillette is still a judge but during the next trial he freezes to the spot, with eyes wide as saucers and mouth hanging open, the moment the defendant enters the hall and immediately shoots him a lopsided smirk the moment their eyes meet
he's the one slip-up in life he made, none other than neuvillette's one-night-stand from a few weeks ago, the guy who never left his mind ever since...
