18.04.20 || went for a 5k run/walk today as part of the 'run 5 donate 5 nominate 5' challenge that's been circulating instagram in the UK to raise money for the NHS! it was so nice! also printed out all my summary notes for my quantum mechanics module as the exam is in less than 2 weeks now

Honestly, I can’t wait until this semester is over because it’s been a struggle schedule-, stress-, and health-wise. Also I have a STACK of books I want to read and I picked up my love of reading again over the summer :’)

Summer Motivation Tag

I was tagged by @bujo-ie (like my awesome friend, check her out!)

So I honestly think it's good to keep some goals for the holidays now exams are over so I thought this would be awesome to also motivate others to motivate themselves!

1. Finally make a dent in Japanese

I've been wanting to do this for a while, I finally have free time

2. Become 3 star training by the end of summer

I do Army Cadets and we have a system of levels? I joined super late than recommended so it'd be cool if I could do more but in a short amount of time, since exams are over I can put more effort into this.

3. Keep revising for next year!

I'm on holiday! This is the most crucial time to keep training your brain! So I want to revise the subjects I want to do in Sixth Form

4. Not worry about August/results day

This is so important because I don't want to stress for 2/3 of my holidays over grades that'll affect one day of my holidays

13.04.20 || alright so maybe I'm watching gilmore girls while I'm making notes but at least the notes are getting made! thanks to our exams being online this year they're now open book, so my priority is having decent notes to work from. I'm very grateful that I don't have to memorise absolutely everything this time around (a silver lining to this whole bizarre situation)

WOMEN IN STEM

Reblog or reply with stories of sexism or gender discrimination you’ve experienced (I pray none of you have experienced any but ya know  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sadly it’s inescapable sometimes). I’m trying to prove a point to the males I know that are in STEM who don’t see anything wrong with the current gender dynamic

It’s 4:12 am and I’m exhausted so part of me wants to go to bed, part of me wants to work on my Materials homework because I finally found my laptop charger, and part of me wants to read some of the books that I was supposed to read for American Lit literally 2 years ago but I was taking 17 credit hours so I just looked everything up on SparkNotes and Shmoop (still got an A though hahaaa [side note: I think I’m delirious])

But like....... I was supposed to read Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Pudd’nhead Wilson, Ethan Frome, Cane, The Bluest Eye, The Sun Also Rises, The Foreign Student, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. I ended up reading all of Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Pudd’nhead Wilson, and The Foreign Student, and like half of Ethan Frome, and none of the rest of them and I really wanna read the rest of them but also when do I have time and also I’m tired

Tell me why this morning, my calc 3 professor went on a 10 minute rant about how tired we all looked and how none of us were answering his questions and “I know you all like to have your wild Thursday nights” bc the local night club has a “thirsty Thursdays” discount, “and I know it’s 9 am but at least look like you’re awake. If you don’t want to be here, leave and go to the library to study because you’ll be more productive there than in here staring at me like I’m a dead fish.” Excuse me, sir, my “wild Thursday night” consisted of me doing homework for YOUR class and FOUR OTHERS.
