Here's a render of my box art draft! It's coming along pretty well, and I put some pretty neat Easter eggs in this one.
Unlike my Over the Garden Wall tape, I'm deciding to go for a partial wrap around design. The front, top, and side are all part of the same image, with the back being reserved for a scenic shot of Beach City.
I got in trouble (permanently banned, actually) for using the FBI warning logo in my art when trying to print OtGW at a print shop, so this time I'm replacing it with the age rating.
If you look closely, the number on the side is the last 4 digits of the mysterious girl's phone number from season 4 episode 6 Last One Out of Beach City.
Additionally, the bar code is the bar code for a GameCube! I thought this was fitting since Steven owns a GC and he plays it constantly. It is also just a super nostalgic console for me, and I can't be the only one who related to Steven a little extra because of his console choice.
The most difficult part of creating this physically is definitely going to be finding a pink VHS tape. I haven't been able to find the specific shade of pink that I want, but I've come pretty close with some VHS releases of Sky Dancers “The Sky’s The Limit” “On Wings Of Song.”
Unfortunately this leans more hot-pink purpleish, and looking for the exact shade is a little hard because I've got Finn the Human syndrome (just a little colour blind). Worst case scenario, I find an off-coloured (lol) tape and I treat it a little bit with bleach or something.
And now to the pan and scan part of the project:
Editing this movie is hard. Really hard. This movie has a very stylized intro credits, most of which are formatted specifically for a 16:9 screen. I'm honestly considering reverse engineering the entire opening credits and just building it from the ground up for a 4:3 aspect ratio.
As for opening ads/title cards, I'm absolutely going to put an Over the Garden Wall trailer. I might just make an MCU type deal where all my tapes reference each other. That would be funny I think.
Anyway follow for more updates or to see silly little guys I make in blender every tuesday!
Fanart for @phospadparadscha's Disco Universe! Featuring weapon ideas :))
Harry has a spiked bat but instead of nails it has spiked glass (disco ball-esque) which would have been a normal bat for pre-martinaise harry (great for a gym teacher), and uh I actually don't know what to call Kim's weapon, they're like disc blades, and so stick plus little sharp bits equals Black Opal's chainsaw ^_^
more thoughts and praises under the cut <3
My original ideas were a disco ball frag grenade for Harry, maybe something dodgeball like for pre-martinaise, and a compound crossbow for Kim, which would probably just be a pellet crossbow for Black Opal. But then one, I wanted Kim's weapon to be "something strikes quick and hard, with little need for multiple blows" (in the words of phos :3) and generally more aerodynamic than a crossbow (I was definitely thinking ranged weapon). So um throwable halo as a weapon equals the disc blades :) ummm now i'm gonna be completely honest, the disc blades are from deathbringer in wings of fire, they are like circles that are knives??? and i looked at the graphic novel and yeah they are just sharp circles lmao
I think in general I was really excited to draw a chainsaw lmao, I also switched up Black Opal's design a little (aviator jacket, different colors) but I love the blacklight/bowling alley carpet palette that he has.
I haven't actually seen steven universe but this has a bunch of my favorite things so I really like this AU (minerals, disco elysium, crossover aus) and phos's art is so cool <3
Steven Universe fandom, I present to you the culmination of my Unbridled Autism:
(Almost) Every Frame of Steven Universe Future™
*and also the Movie
This isn't quite every frame, but it's a good chunk of them. SUF was run through Shutter Encoder at 5 fps and the movie was ran through at 2 fps - I could do a more thorough sweep of them, but the file size for one episode is already hovering at around 4 GB and the entirety of the movie is about 15, so for the sake of my sanity I'm okay with what I've got.
I would recommend downloading these for yourself if you plan to look through the frames, because trying to go through the images in GDrive is painfully slow. Each folder is over 3k images so it struggles to load them all.
Enjoy the reference material :3
EDIT: Sort by name if you're gonna look at it in GDrive, the frames will be out of order otherwise
I don’t get why people don’t talk more about crossovers with different versions of the same series/world.
Does no one think about how cool it would be if game sonic met movie sonic and the complex dynamics that can play out? Imagine how Tom would see a sonic that isn’t lonely and more experienced, or have a different sonic appear, there is a lot!
Does no one think Kirby meeting his anime self would work because game Kirby is way stronger? He’s copy ability’s work different then anime Kirby’s does, you can work of that!
Does no one want to imagine having the persona protagonist’s meet because time travel is complicated? Head cannon your own rules so no paradox’s happening so you can focus on exploring the differences in the protagonist’s ideology!
I can’t be the only person who likes this type of content right? It’s so full of potential but nobody takes it! Just imagine any of the Links and Zelda’s meeting, or characters meeting their future selves like with Luz, Ann, or Steven, and even if it has been touched on before that doesn’t mean everything has been explored like with paper Mario and Mario!
I haven’t even started with CROSS SERIES CROSSOVERS! Imagine crypt of the necrodancer and Hi-Fi Rush, THE CHARACTERS ALL MOVE TO THE BEAT BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS!!!
HAS NO ONE TALKED ABOUT THIS OR MADE WORK LIKE THIS
Anyway here’s a funny clip of the second coming firing a orbital math ray
