So I decided to do some infinity train fan art of the steward which took me a lot longer than anticipated due to my phone finally starting to kick the bucket (I ended up having to restart this twice due to my phone deleting my progress). Some system roles! You could see I was starting to hurt more as I got to these, they're somewhat messier

The first three are nightwatcher. Then protector, then caretaker, steward, charge, hydrator, medic, and hygienist

The caretaker one is based on a type of doll in our system, so it's a little personalised. I don't know why charge is like that, I was just going through our physical sketchbook and digitalising symbol sketches we did, and another headmate drew that sketch

if you were to combine some/certain dialogues together, it forms into a mini scenario that matches up with the operator's skills

Awkwardly they both shuffle into the bedroom. Steward finally pulls his hands away from Cardigan's face, and her jaw drops.

Standing in the middle of the room, on a dressmakers mold, is an outfit straight out of the latest Leithanien Fashion Monthly, shorts and blouse and coveralls all pristine. The separate sleeves and matching socks lie folded on the floor, next to the beret that slipped from its post atop the mannequin, dragging the scarf down with it in an elegant pile.

Behind the speechless Perro, Steward coughs.

"I was talking with Orchid, and apparently this sort of thing is back in style again, and I remembered how you would always look at these outfits back in Leithanien, and I figured we have the money now, so I thought - "

He is cut off by Cardigan's arms firmly wrapping themselves around his torso, squeezing the air from his lungs, lifting him entirely off the ground, and the tears in her eyes as she beams up at him tells him everything he needs to know.

ed fell first AND fell harder BUT theres a difference between falling in love and realizing you've fallen in love and stede does the former way before he does the latter. stede doesn't realize he's fallen in love with ed for a While and though the breadth of his feelings wasn't as prominent at the time, the realization absolutely hit him so much harder. and especially with his newfound confidence, i am 100% certain that once he's reunited with ed, he will be the most passionate sappy caring and dutiful lover on the seven seas. he is going to make sure he is even more attached to ed at the hip than he already was. and i am so ready for it

The "Steward is Karlan Trade's Officially Adopted Son" Crack Theory

Steward voice line after E1 promotion: "Lava has a very distinct fighting style. I thought she was going to cast with her book, but her real Arts Unit is a dagger. Her style reminds me of the mystic who taught me Arts."

Hmmmm. Who's a famous Caster--I mean, researcher--from Kjerag who casts with a book and dagger-like staff? Is this just a joke on the part of the artist, or can we scrape together some more evidence for this (crack) relationship? Let's dig a little deeper.

Steward's profile: (Interesting little easter egg: the rectangular white tag on Steward's wand is not unlike the same one on Gnosis's BOC staff that read Tiefkuhlen.)

Steward's skin has similar tailoring to Gnosis's skin and Gnosis's 2nd anni art; also note the ice crystals around Steward and the monocle.

The flavor text for his skin reads (MTL): "One of Steward's self-services. Before reuniting with his teammates, Steward traveled from country to country, carefully considering the benefits they could bring to Kjerag.

Honestly I can't stop thinking about this. Picturing Gnosis overseeing the tradesmen coming to Kjerag for whatever reason and his eye falling upon Steward and teaching him Arts in his offtime at the lab; Stewart admiring SA's efforts to open Kjerag and volunteering to help... An older Steward donning a monocle not because he needs it overly much but because he's emulating his mentor Gnosis and Gnosis internally dying of his youthful enthusiasm.
