Bend Into A Break (3)
Summary: Not one, but two vlog-squads came with the death of Vine. And the rumored beef between you two is absolutely true! So, you and David (begrudgingly) set up a month long-retreat among your groups to film team challenges and go against each other. Y’know. For views. Pairing: David Dobrik x Reader, Enemies to Lovers, living together. Warnings: Profanity, mentions of drinking, sexual...themes?

“David…you do realize how impractical it was to rent the party bus, right?”
David hangs out the bus by holding onto the door’s nearby pole, and carelessly swings back and forth, only his heels keeping him on the bus’ front step. He sucks his lips in, really thinking about it. Because to him it seems only practical to get everybody completed wasted to prevent the car-equivalent of capsizing from the many fights likely to break out.
So he blinks very slowly.
You sigh. “David…how is anybody going to leave like we promised if we’re renting one party bus just to take us there? And if no on-demand Ubers will be in the vicinity of a creepy, half-haunted mansion on a hill available to drive a bunch of bumbling adult babies from one house to the next because somebody forgot their stupid phone battery?”
Oh. That’s what you’re getting at.
He’s stuck letting out this crackling groan trying to think of something to say.
“Well uh,” he snaps his fingers — genius, “that’s why me and you are taking the Tesla.”
You drop your head. “We’re going to leave our groups drunk and unsupervised on a party bus together aren’t we?”
“I…didn’t think this through.”
“No, David. You didn’t.” You walk inside, your black bomber jacket making more noise for your dramatic exit than you would have liked. But to start this week out right (after the previous week of haphazardly buying and planning for this), you, David, and the rest of the crew wear the merch you promised. Well, the closest you could get to it. You couldn’t create around 18 labeled shorts and shirts in such a short time, so you gathered typical athletic styles, red and blue for each team, and scoured the internet for stitched name tags to be pinned on each shirt.
You chose our style thinking of the future and how convenient an easier way to air out would be. So your shorts are cut off at (almost) the very top of your thigh, traditional to those stereotypical 70s shorts with the neon majority and white trim. Currently you’re freezing your ass off with the clouds hanging overhead, but your jacket does something to proportionate the warmth.
You pass around the name tags to everybody standing in David’s living room, clustered in groups of two with their corresponding members.
To deal with Natalie being an outlier, David (with a pain in his heart) agreed to let her represent your team opposite Scott. You’re careful handing her the badge and she takes it with caution, pinning it in her shirt while her eyes continuously flicker to yours.
Zane and Noel, Heath and Cody, they make some contest out of who can put their badge on faster. Heath cackles and runs his finger up Cody’s chest to flick him in the nose, trying to trick him into thinking his badge is horribly off-center. Zane gives Noel the stink-eye for giving Heath the stink-eye for messing with his friend.
Corinna and Enya don’t try messing with each other. Contrary, Corinna brought Enya some lemonade and they stir their straws through the ice in unison as they talk with each other.
Toddy and Amanda (the groups’ resident hotties) stand together but don’t look. They watch the others, unable to shake their anxieties.
Erin and Emily, Carly and Chloe…they’re getting along just fine!
Actually talking!
You smile at the display ready to hand them their badges, but make it quick when you hear them mutually bashing the trip. Ouch, okay.
Then there’s Matt and Drew. They sit opposite each other on the couch, and similarly too with their legs spread and hands limp in their lap. They can’t figure out what’s so similar about them, but it’s easy! They’re both pretty tall and seem to be a voice of reason, but then they hit you in the gut with bizarre humor and blatant understanding.
At the very least everybody’s followed instructions and bought the clothes you provided them. They have their suitcases and backpacks, and while you know none of them are really prepared for what you and David have in store, they’re prepared enough.
You hop on David’s coffee table, cup your hands around your lips, and whistle.
“Okay okay, listen up! So David’s got the party bus — “
Corinna squints “But what about our cars?”
You hiss. “Heh, that’s what I tried to tell him but guess what, he still has the party bus! So..!” You pump your fist in the air; you couldn’t be less enthusiastic, “Yay…Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out. Right now I think its best we all just travel together, and when you start to go insane with being unable to leave in anything but a strobing party bus, we’ll probably drive everybody around and pick up a few cars.”
Scott frowns, impressed. “So no Tesla? Never thought he’d part with that thing.”
“Oh no, he’s bringing the Tesla.”
“Hey, that’s no fair!”
“Yeah how come he gets to bring his car but we can’t bring ours!”
You groan and your volume and intensity increase with each word, “Because he just wanted you all to get drunk and have fun and not murder each other on the three-hour drive and he didn’t connect the dots about him bringing his Tesla and you guys not bringing your own cars o-KAY?!”
You hop down and stomp out of the room. “Just bring your damn bags and stop complaining!”
David’s standing by his Tesla holding a hand to his hip and the other to his forehead, spieling his eyes from the sun beaming down from behind the house. “How’d it go?” He’s chewing his cheek. “Good?”
You shrug and drop your arms. “I dunno.” You force a smile. “Started getting mad about the car thing but I told them to shut up then left so I have no idea how it escalated.”
“Hmm, that’s good. You need to like, be more assertive.”
“Don’t tell me what to do!” Your voice is lost on him once you hop on the bus and look around.
It may be a little tight. Like David said, being drunk (for those who can be) might do a bit to deal with the comfort but you have an inkling a fight might break out before they even bring out the vodka. “Hey, David?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you think ew should take a few people with us?” You head off but he hops on, swinging in by the door’s immediate pole.
He shakes his head, “Nah, they’ll be fine.”
You sigh through your nose and return to looking deep into the bus. “I think the fact we have to get them drunk during the transport is enough of a red flag.”
“Yeah no definitely.” You’re shocked by his ease but he shrugs. “But don’t worry.” He pats your arm. “Gonna be fun.” Then he hops back off. You back out slowly and in time to see him jogging inside the house to gather everybody. You step out and go to the back, slipping the poor driver a 50. You pat his shoulder and don’t say a word, but he still nods solemnly knowing that you mean the best of luck.
David comes out leading the group and it looks like an elementary school field-trip. He stops at the door, waving his hand to gesture one after another forward, and counts even to make sure everybody’s there. He squints, watching you take pity on the driver before giving him room to haul everybody’s things into the under-part of the bus.
You watch them get on one by one, actually worried. David can see it from where he stands. He keeps his eyes on you over his shoulder as he locks up the house, though only does that after popping into do a quick run through and make sure the doors are locked and lights are on.
While checking with the driver to make sure his address is right, he admits it is indeed crowded.
He steps over everybody to get to the back’s fridge and out he cradles bottles of champagne and vodka to the middle table, cheering “Yaaaay!” To combat the stillness. He stands back, hands on his hips and gestures the drunk. “C’mon guys, have some fun. Woo!” He claps and skips to the front, “Party time!” Ignoring the discomfort he brings Corinna and Cody particularly (Cody disturbed with her close presence and Corinna disturbed by the sheer amount of space he fills up with his spread legs).
David hops off the bus and jogs to his Tesla. You’re in the passenger seat and he slips in, buckles up, and starts it as fast as he can.
He wonders if there’s enough alcohol on the bus to last three hours. His bets are they’ll battle it out, get drunk out of frustration, and have a really good time for about an hour then pass out before reaching the third. Fourth depending on traffic.
You jump at his hurriedness, voice quaky. “Everything okay?” And buckle yourself.
He bites his tongue and waits. When the bus’ driver gives him a thumbs up he answers, “Yuuup,” before driving.
You hum. “There’s a bathroom on the bus…right?”
“Yup, yup.” He thinks so but he’s not sure. Best to assure himself that it won’t be a literal shit-show.”
You frown. “David…are they gonna die?”
He holds his tongue again. “Mhmm.”
You slump back and pick at your sleeves.
Thirty minutes in and you become comfortable enough to make yourself comfortable. You pull your legs up to the seat, though hesitate when David eyes you. Seeing you rethink your decision he shakes his hand over your lap as he turns a corner. “Oh no don’t worry — that’s nothing compared to what they’ve done in here.” You slowly bring your legs back up, and David too relaxes, thighs separated and palm press to one of them.
He sticks his hand between his seat and the center console, pulls out the aux cord, and tosses it in your lap. You play some tunes knowing full well David’s put them at the end of a few vlogs — just to be safe.
Though you get a chill when Zedd’s “Beautiful Now’ comes on and you’re treated to the (wonderfully sung) lyrics of:
I see what you’re wearing, there's nothing beneath it
Forgive me for staring, forgive me for breathing
David rolls his shoulders and sinks deeper. But the initial soft sounds of the track grow into something more powerful and you’re both ignoring it until the beat drops again:
Stranded together, our worlds have collided
This won't be forever, so why try to fight it?
That’s ironic, you think.
And on cue David says “That’s ironic,” with a faint chuckle.
You chuckle too. It’s breathy and highlights your anxiety even more with the addition of the otherwise silent car. “Sure is…”
Maybe five minutes pass, then David reaches and turns it down. He sniffles, swiping his wrist under his nose as you come to a red light.
“So, uhm…” He blinks harshly and rapidly before shaking his head at himself and forcing a chuckle. “I don’t even know what I was going to say.” You hum to soothe him. Then he snaps his fingers, “Oh yeah! So like…? What challenges do you have in mind. I have some obviously, just wondering what you have.”
“Oh. Well…” you sit up and grab your phone, turning down the volume even more and opening your notes. “I mean I had some typical stuff like a water balloon fight.” You point over your shoulder. “Brought some balloons for that —“
He takes his eyes off the road and light, “Red and blue?” and smiles are you.
You chuckle. “Yup…yup. Red and blue. So water balloon fight, the pool could be of use but I dunno, a swimming content seems too standard.”
“Right.” The light’s green and he gets going again, letting his eyes dart to you every so often when it’s the least inconvenient.
You start to stretch, wrapping your arms behind you and around the headrest. It lengthens you out and lifts your shirt a little. “I figured we’d be ordering food all month, but at one point before Heath goes too crazy we should have a cooking contest or something.”
David watches you stretch. But he hisses at himself realizing how strange it must be. You recall his hissing as a response to your suggestion however and he saves himself with “Ouch. Just gonna hand over a win like that?”
You shrug. “I mean hey, if he doesn’t pull out a hatchet I’ll gladly give you guys a win.” Speaking of hatchet, “Kind of a shame we’re in California cause a snowball fight could show spectacular sportsmanship.”
His face scrunches up. “It’s still June.”
“Yeah but still. I’d be willing to postpone for that. Snowball fight, sledding, white elephant and crap.”
He leans forward, squinting to read the sign up ahead. “Some holiday spirit would make everybody a little less angry. I’ll see what I can do.”
You find that curious but ignore it and continue. “And since we’re a bunch of adult babies I figured we’d all get a kick out of a giant pillow fort. I’m talking all through the house. We could figure out things to do in there like those games where you try to balance an egg on a spoon…only through a pillow fort.
“OOoooOoo, I like. And uhm, campfire? We could like, do a campfire. Tell stories. I mean you rented a creepy ass mansion for this so,” he clears his throat, “let’s knock some socks off, y’know?”
“…Did you just say ‘let’s knock some socks off?’”
“What’s said in the Tesla stays in the Tesla.”
“Got it…Why don’t we just shove every season of the year into one month”
“I mean hey,” you chuckle, “sounds good to me!”
You don’t have anything else to bring up, and neither does David. He turns the music back up, and after a few songs “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga comes on maybe an hour into the drive…you and David squint forward, taking in the synth instrumentals with her slick voice.
“Hey—“ your voice cracks “—what do you think about a lip syncing contest?”
David gulps. “Yes.”
Immediately David pops in your mind when you think of this song. Digging through your childhood memories you recall ‘Total Drama Island.’ You reabsorb that damn show and every little thing about it, specifically that season where the host switched teams up the last minute. But no, that wouldn’t work. You would be on different teams regardless of the shake-up being team-leaders and all.
“Wh-” you start. David looks at you, waiting. “What if it’s like, a versus battle. So like, me versus you, Enya versus Corinna, corresponding people, y’know? Instead of the entire group.”
David hums. “Yeah but, who’s going to vote?”
Can’t be your fanbases because the answer to them would always be clear.
“Uh…anonymous voting? Each person votes for who objectively did better in the battle for each battle, and then, y’know.”
“What about voting for yourself?” He shoots it down, logically.
You sit deeper in your seat and slide down a bit, neck posing your head awkwardly against the seat rather than the headrest. “I hope everybody’s mature enough to be objective…”
David leans against the center console and picks at his lips. Then he snaps his fingers, “I got it. Surprise guests. Like, I could bring Brandon and Jason.” He points at you with his thumb, “couldn’t you fly Tom here and like, get Casey? Frey? And they have to come to a mutual decision. Problem solved.”
You hum. “So to be clear me and you are dancing to ‘Bad Romance’, right?”
“Oh definitely.”
You clap once, “Good on that.”
“I mean, we both know you’ll win, so,” he says so casually, turning down the music again. It’s sickening to see him pass over the crown so easily.
You scoff. “That’s not true. You’re very expressive.”
David smiles. “Oh. Am I?”
“Yeah.” You roll your eyes, unsure if this is him fishing for compliments or his ignorance. “You can shake it, David. No — you can work it. I’m not gonna deny that.”
He hums and bites his thumb.
“What?” You nod at him, beckoning him to continue. He lets out a faint squeal and shakes his head, going to different lengths from covering his mouth with his palm to his wrist to biting his fingers again to keep quiet. “David, tell me.”
“‘anks for ‘icing.”
“David — articulate.”
He giggles and repeats, “Thanks for noticing,” in a whisper. You roll your eyes and slink down further in your seat. He stutters for a moment but shouts “Hey! Y-you’re uh, you’re pretty expressive too…so.” He slaps the steering wheel and sits back at the next red light. “I said it. You’re ‘expressive’ too, okay? So who knows which of us is going to win?”
You squint. “So basically you check out my ass—“
“Hey! I did no—“
You cackle, “But you still check out my ass!”
“Okay!” He holds up a finger and runs his tongue over his lips. “Okay okay, but to be fair, you check mine out too!” He curses himself. You have the strange ability to pull facts out o your ass and whoever isn’t prepared enough for them falls right into your trap.
“HA!” No I don’t!”
“YOU SAID I’M EXPRESSIVE!”
You jump and lean over the console to get in his space. “I LOOK AT YOUR LEGS!” You slap at where they’re clothed. “Your thighs! And your waist and your chest and your arms - ALL of you is expressive, David! You’ve got this like,” you scrunch your hands up, “weird, tiny little dancer’s body!”
“Wait wait wait hold on a minute!” You lean back, cheek against your seat. “How am I worse?!” He laughs. “I only look at your ass, you look at all of me!”
“Because I look at you in an artistic way. Cause that’s what the body is: a beautiful piece of art.”
He gulps, trying to hum as though impressed with your observation. But it hurts his throat to do it and he coughs, choking on his own giggles and having to press his fist to his lips to stop it all from spilling over as he starts driving again.
He takes a deep breath, focusing all his energy on not giving himself away this time. “Well psh, how,” he takes a deep breath, “how do you know I don’t look at you like a piece of art?”
You shrug. “Cause you don’t. Or,” you hum, “wait? Do you?”
Hoping this time it’ll work in his favor, David keeps his mouth shut. Still, his lips curl fighting a smile, but he’s successful. You hum with your mouth open (“Mhmm”) and keep your jaw slack for a period before chewing on your cheek. Though you still make the effort to hum, making your thought process accessible to David.
“You know,” your hand goes over his, jokingly (of course), “I’m very flattered you consider me a piece of art. No no-not just that, but a ‘beautiful’ piece of art.”
“I mean, what am I supposed to say?” His chin goes to his chest and he shakes his head as best as he can. “I’m not a liar Y/n, so.”
“Never said you were.”
“You have a hot body so I’m gonna say you have a hot body. So let’s just —“ he swipes his hand down like a karate chop, “—stop with the, y’know, work-arounds.”
When the silence becomes too much, David notices you staring at him. Almost emotionless but with the tiniest upward flick of the corner of your lips. He does a double take, readjusts his position in his seat.
“I’m gonna ask you to rethink what you just said to me.” He squints, not sure why but you see his brows twitch while he does as asked,
Then he jumps, eyes wide and body as stiff as a board. His jaw drops before his teeth dig into his lip, then “UGH!” He slams the center console, turning the corner with one hand and waving his other around with each syllable. “How do you do that?!” When the words initially came from his mouth they came out so formally yet so casually he hardly thought anything of it. Like how he would tell Jason to cut the shit, only this time instead of just ‘cut the shit’ he said to ‘cut the shit’ in terms of dodging the notion he’s attracted to you.
You shrug and pat his shoulder. “Allll you buddy.”
“I—“ he shakes his head, “—I never said that. What is said in the Tesla stays in the Tesla.”
“Fine by me. If that’s the case guess we’re not gonna put on the record that I would totally let you rail me. So, whatever.”
What.
You dig through your backpack and crack open an Arizona iced tea. The click of the metal and bubbling of the drink as you swallow breaks some of the silence.
Otherwise, at this moment David embodies the meme of that blonde gal’s eyes jumping every which way, some math problem overlaid on the screen. He’s completely silent, and you shift, waiting. His nose scrunches up every time he thinks he’s got it but he just can’t quite grasp onto what you said.
In a tiny voice, “Well I’d rail you too—“
You throw your head back and dig your free palm into your eye — “I WAS KIDDING!”
You weren’t. Not entirely.
“OKAY WELL SO WAS I!” David’s face is so flustered you swear you could stick your hand to his cheek and leave an indent showing his true tone. You bang your head back against the headrest over and over, eventually biting your thumb so you don’t cry from hysterical laughter. He’s snickering but ultimately blinking tears out of his eyes. He shakes his head, clenching the wheel with both hands (for once). “I hate you so much.”
“Awe…” You squeeze his shoulder. “I hate you too.”
Maybe this won’t be such a long ride?

Technical things and artistic things and historical things. Sometimes I wish I could have made a career out of working under him.
55. favorite fairy tale?
Beauty and the Beast (AH...AH...I SEE YOU ROLLING YOUR EYES BECAUSE I’M TRANS. I KNOW. I *KNOW*.)
56. favorite tradition?
It’s a family tradition kinda unique to my household. Each year, we draw a name from a hat, and that name comes with a lot of words that describe us and what we liked over that year. We then each take a $20 bill and we go to a little hobby shop with cheap things in it and use that $20 bill to fill a Christmas stocking. We then hang them back up and empty the stocking full of candies and random silly things and have a good laugh and guess who filled whose stocking.
57. the three biggest struggles you’ve overcome?
The first one is coming to terms with knowing my dad has a severe illness. It really shook my family up, and it’s terrifying us right now with everything going on, but after a while, I learned that he was smiling, so I could smile, too.
The second one is my mother coming back from her tour in the Middle East on top of the murder of my godmother. Two very stressful things happened at once. My mother got very violent from her PTSD and her best friend died in a horrible way. It was an adjustment for everyone, and it kind of ripped my family to pieces. I can say, though, that my parents are still married and are getting better, and my sister and I are coming back to the family to be more open and healthy.
The third, and maybe some of my followers are aware, was getting rid of my ex-fiance. He was a man who sexually assaulted me repeatedly and I won’t go into details beyond that. It took me 5 years to get rid of him and accept what happened, but I am a much happier person now and while I work through the trauma that caused me, I have the most wonderful partner by my side and if you had told me back then I’d find someone as kind and patient and loving as him, I would have laughed and thought you were insane.
59. if you were a video game character, what would your catchphrase be?
Probably what I put on all my fanfic updates: “I know. I’m an asshole.”
60. if you were a character in an anime, what kind of anime would you want it to be?
Some kind of shoujo romance but it’s bi also I want a sword.
61. favorite line you heard from a book/movie/tv show/etc.?
There was nothing more smartass than Alice Synthesis 30 in SAO 18 asking a reporter to open up his head and prove he was human I’m sorry like OOF-
63. five songs that would play in your club?
Get in losers, we’re playing Steppin’ Out by FLOW, Elle me dit by Mika, Blue by Eiffel 65, ADAMAS by LiSA, and Touch Off by UVERworld.

Yup. I have one on my toe where I split the skin in half. I tripped. I have three surgical scars from when I had my appendix removed. And...the mystery scar. I was supposedly born with a scar it’s at the part where my foot meets my leg on my left side and you can see how it’s stretched over the years if you run your finger over it. The joke is that the doctor taking out my mom’s appendix scratched me in the womb.

Nashville : June 2017
This recent trip to Nashville was easily one of the top two vacations of my life. Since there are so many memories I want to hold on to, I decided to write them all down.. Early morning on Tuesday June 13th we headed out of Columbus. On our way down we stopped by Chik-fil-A, of course, and then at Dinosaur World in Kentucky. They have 150 dinosaur statues set up throughout their wooded park and allow dogs. It was the perfect place to stretch our legs for a bit before the final leg to Nashville. We got into Nashville around noon. It was too early to check into our airbnb so we headed downtown to the farmers market and bicentennial park. We let Samson cool his feet in the Rivers of Tennessee fountain park while we waited for our Bella Nova pizza. Then sat in the shade and ate lunch. After that we walked around the park seeing the Court of 3 Stars and Bell Carillon. We walked down the Pathway of History stopping to see their World War II Memorial and Statehood Memorial over the McNarry Spring. Next we killed time by driving around the east side, locating some spots we knew we'd be visiting and finding some iconic Nashville murals. We also stopped into Project 615, a clothing store in the Fatherland District. We bought each other a Nashville tee, since the traditional two year wedding anniversary gift is cotton. The girl working in the shop was so nice. She gave Samson treats and gave us 615 stickers. She also suggested we check out the pet shop a few doors down so we did. Samson had his fill of treat samples and we purchased him the most adorable rain poncho (even though it never ended up raining when he was out of the house, haha). Our airbnb was so cute. It's was a remodeled upstairs loft space near Eastwood. It was so close to everywhere we were going. My favorite feature was that we were able to leave Samson home alone when we went out to dinner or a show. (most dog friendly hotels won't let you leave dogs unattended in rooms FYI). Once we settled into the house we decided to just run out real quick and bring some dinner back to the loft. We decided on Dino's which was just 5 mins from us. Dino's is a serious hole in the wall but Chelsea Lankes swears by their burgers. Jerry and I agree, they were so good! Wednesday morning we woke up at the crack of dawn ready to start exploring the city. Our first stop was in the Gulch to find the #WhatLiftsYou wings. We then got some refreshing drinks from Starbucks to try and combat the already sweltering heat. We parked in Hillsboro and got some pastries from Provence Breads & Cafe. Everything we tried from there was delicious. They even gave us a free pastry for choosing them over a chain bakery. Hillsboro is such a great area full of local restaurants and cute shops. From there we walked over the Fannie Mae Dees Park in hopes of seeing the Dragon Statue but it was currently being repainted. But we carried on and traveled over to Love Circle. It's a large hill that has great views of downtown and the surrounding hills. At this point we were really second guessing our choice of this trek on such a hot day but since we were halfway through we carried on. We made our way up to Centennial Park. There was a great fountain right where near we entered which Samson loved walking through. Then we took a nice long rest on a bench swing in the shade. As we walked towards the Parthenon I bought some lemonade from the cutest little boy collecting donations for his friend at Children's. It was so refreshing on such a hot day. After Centennial we crossed through Vanderbilt campus to get back to Hillsboro. While passing by the football stadium we noticed the tunnel was actually open so Jerry walked onto the field. Once back in Hillsboro we got a patio table at Fido and had some delicious sandwiches for lunch. That evening, if you can believe it, Jerry and I got the amazing opportunity to meet and hang out with THE Chelsea Lankes. We've been such fans of her music for years. It's was indescribable to chat her up like a friend. We met at Barista Parlor in the Gulch and she bought us all a round of iced coffees. Chelsea and I had a bourbon vanilla iced coffee while Jerry had a caramel whiskey. We talked about mine and Jerry's trips to Nashville, Chelsea's time in LA, relationships, our jobs, dogs, how people don't know how to pronounce Lankes, true crime pod casts, long term goals, family and Chelsea's new music. At one point Chelsea checked her phone and said "it's 6:15" and Jerry and I both died, haha. She invited us out to her car to listen to some demos of some of her new songs which was seriously amazing. Every one she played for us was bangin', we can't wait for her to release the singles this summer. While listening, Julian pulled up. They're seriously so cute together. She got out of the car and they started dancing in the street. Jules climbed in the backseat with me and when Chelsea skipped to the next song he said "why'd you turn that off? it's about us cuddling". So cute. We snapped a quick photo together and had Chelsea sign our vinyls before she had to run off to hot yoga. At her suggestion, Jerry and I quickly checked out a roof bar at a nearby hotel and caught some great sunset views of downtown Nashville. After that Jerry and I being true tourists hit South Broadway. We grabbed a quick bite of hotdogs from a street vendor while we meandered through souvenir shops and listened to live music. We of course had to stop at Savannah's Candy Kitchen to load up on chocolate covered marsh mellows, rice krispy treats, candied apples and fudge. We stopped by Luigi's for a drink at the bar and a pizza to go. On the way back to the car we passed by the Country Music Hall of Fame to take a pic with the TS Education sign bc Taylor Swift owns my ass. So then we went back to our loft for the night. It was much later/darker than it had been the night before when we took Samson for his walk. The alley behind our house was basically pitch black. But honestly it was alright because as we were also smoking up ya feel. So we're walking and we turn up onto a main street. It was a little more lit but still pretty dark and we, ourselves, were feeling pretty lit. As we're walking up the street I see something just sitting there. At first I thought it was a rabbit because it wasn't moving. Then as we got closer I could tell it was just staring at us even though I couldn't see it's face, which is always a freaky feeling. For a second I thought it might be an opossum or a raccoon, both which would have freaked me the fuck out. As we got a little closer we realized it was just a cat and literally as we were realizing this we hear the nastiest low gurgling growl coming from a yard to our right. We look over and the whole yard and house are pitch black. We can only see a small white picket fence and hear this dog that sounds like it wants to kill us. So we're fucked up, already a little freaked out from the cat and now pretty sure some beefy dog is gonna lunge over this small ass fence and try to eat us. We power walked our asses out of that street as fast as we could! It was seriously the craziest experience! To update, we drove by that house like three more times trying to find out what breed of dog that was and how it was secured in that yard but never saw a dog there. Thursday morning, our anniversary, we woke up and took Samson with us to South Broadway to walk the John Seigenthaler pedestrian bridge, which Samson shit on haha. We saw some great views of the Titan's stadium and of the downtown skyline. Afterwards Jerry and I went out to breakfast at Fenwick's 300. Chelsea had recommended it because Julian works the bar there. It was a very cool restaurant. Their bar top was made from a lane from a bowling alley that had previously been in that location. The food was amazing. We toasted to our anniversary with some mimosas. Jerry got breakfast stir fry while I went with basic eggs, bacon and toast. We also shared the amazing french toast. It was great to chat up Julian. We mostly talked about dogs. I tried to talk him out of wanting a husky but I don't think it took. We were showing him a picture of Samson when another server brought our food. Julian elbowed her, "look that's Samson" and after briefly looking she responded, "uh huh, want some hot sauce?" Jerry and I thought it was too funny. We had planned to walk around 12 South for a bit after breakfast but 1) we'd misjudged our time and had a standing appointment at noon and 2) it had started raining. We decided to just drive through 12S to see if Amelia's flower truck was still there or if they'd left due to the downpour. Luckily, they were! We figured we better buy some flowers now rather than track them down again later. By this time the rain was really coming down. We maneuvered around swept away garbage cans to park on a side street. Jerry had to jump over a 3+ foot river flowing down the gutter to bring the umbrella around for me. Even with that, we were soaked through by the time we made it up to the truck. But I didn't mind. The flowers were so lovely. They traveled well and they're still giving off an amazing perfume in our bedroom. At noon we had an appointment at Gold Club Electric to get our matching 615 tattoos. It was so special to us to get the tats on 615 in the 615. The guys at the shop were so nice. Our artist chatted us up about Columbus, he used to live in Cleveland. The tattoos went so easy and quick. Once done the employees even helped us take an awesome pic of Jerry and I holding hands while showing off our matching tats. We then went just around the corner to Soda Parlor, probably one of the cutest places in town. They're known for their killer floats made from craft sodas and local ice cream. They're all topped with whipped cream and sprinkles and served in a Mason jar. I ordered the Freakin' Fosters which was a mix of Mike's vanilla ice cream and Sprecher's Orange Dream soda. Jerry got the All Hail Starstream with vanilla ice cream and Maine Root Mexicane Cola. They were both so delicious. Another very cool feature about the Soda Parlor is that they have a free arcade. I had to play TMNT. I just wish the game let me play as Michelangelo instead of Leonardo, haha, but I still kicked ass. Since the rain had stopped and we had some time to kill we decided to head back to 12 South and actually walk around. (We stopped by the airbnb to pick up Samson and change since we were still a little damp and the temp had dropped. When we walked in the house I asked Samson if he wanted to smell my Amelia's flowers. He did... and then tried to eat them. Haha, still laughing about that.) Walking around 12 South we mostly window shopped. But we did find the I Believe in Nashville mural as well as a few others. We never did find the "make music, not war" mural but that just means we'll have to go back. We also stopped into Five Daughter's Bakery. The donuts are expensive but seriously worth it. What I would give for a chocolate sea salt donut right now ladies. Later that evening we had tickets for the Bluebird Cafe. It's an iconic listening room in Nashville. Artists such as Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift were discovered there. We were ecstatic to get tickets since there are only about 60 seats able to be reserved. Luckily I was able get two tickets are soon as they went on sale. As for the show, I wish I could put into words how amazing it was. The artists, David Seger, JP Williams, Darryl Macquarrie, and Jeremy Busser were so personable. They joked with the crowd, told the stories that influenced their songs and played an amazing set. It's honestly a surreal experience and I'd recommend it to everyone. Friday was our last morning in Nashville. We didn't have to check out until noon so we decided to hit Shelby Park, a metro park right near our airbnb. We decided to walk around Sevier Lake. When we pulled up the parking lot was full of sleeping ducks and geese. I got out of the car and they literally came rushing over quacking and honking. Honestly, so sad I didn't have any duck feed on me. Walking around the lake we saw a man feeding the squirrels, lots of turtles and water birds. It was such a chill area of people just hanging out and fishing. My favorite part was a huge willow on the south end of the lake, so dreamy. We also hopped over to the Shelby Dog Park so Samson could run loose for a bit. After that we packed up the car to head home. Our last stop on our way out of Nashville was Consider the WLDFLWRS, a jewelry store that's owned by Emily (the wife of Ben who is the musical talents behind My Red + Blue). I've been following the shop's instagram and I love their pieces. Jerry bought me a small pendant with an H stamped into it. I adore it. The girl working the shop, Hannah, was so sweet. She loved meeting Samson and told us about her new pup Dolly. We got to chatting about how I knew about the store. Hannah mentioned that if I liked Ben's music I should check out Yøuth (aka Chelsea's boyfriend Julian). Turns out Julian was in Hannah's wedding and Chelsea is one of her very good friends! Nashville is such an amazing city, it's really like a big town. I cannot wait to go back xxx

You know what? I’m bored and I want to pretend that I’m vaguely interesting. So without further ado; 65 Questions!
Do you ever doubt the existence of others than you? - Nah, I doubt my own existence and meaning the most. I have no reason to doubt anyone else’s existence, because I sure as hell couldn’t make such lovely cheery things.
On a scale of 1-5, how afraid of the dark are you? - 2, because I can’t see. I have terrible night-vision that takes ages to jostle on. So I end up navigating by visual and spacial memory if I need to walk around. Because I have my own system for storing items and leaving them about, I end up remembering my surroundings very well.
The person you would never want to meet? - Anyone who doesn’t meet my basic moral requirements.
What is your favorite word? -  In French, it’d be argent, since silver is pretty and I love how it’s pronounced. In English, plethora, for similar reasons. Finnish is harder to pick.. hmmmh, hurma?
If you were a type of tree, what would you be? - what is known here as “The silver willow”, which is a variation of the white willow (salix alba), that has silvery bluish sheen to it’s leaves and a darker tree trunk. Salix alba var. sericea 'Sibirica'. Sometimes 'Argentea' ja 'Sericea' are also considered to be of the same variation. If I was a flower, I think I’d like to be the Eden climbing rose or a marigold.
When you looked in the mirror this morning what was the first thing you thought? - my face is bloated again, I guess the meds didn’t absorb properly.
What shirt are you wearing? - dark blue men’s print shirt that doubles as a pyjama
What do you label yourself as? - Agender, nonbinary, trans, bi and a problem.
Bright room or dark room? - dim room.
What were you doing at midnight last night? - myself
Favorite age you’ve been so far? - the now. I moved into another city away from my family, closer to my dear friend, so- it’s a whole lot better. Emotional turbulence is easing a little too.
Who told you they loved you last? - ... my emotionally abusive family.
Your worst enemy? - myself and the bigoted society.
What is your current desktop picture? - a cat skull I painted myself.
Do you like someone? - I do, I like many people. My friends, my brothers and grandma.
The last song you listened to? - I love you by Woodkid. It’s a mood.
You can press a button that will make any one person explode. Who would you blow up? - dorito.
Who would you really like to just punch in the face? - I’d rather not damage my hands.
If anyone could be your slave for a day, who would it be and what would they have to do? - That sounds absolutely dreadful, no I don’t want to have anyone do anything they do not wish to do. It’s about consent, not-consenting is not funny or desirable to me in any way.  Now if you were to give me a butler, who has personal agency to say no and, perhaps, a snarky attitude- I really would love to be pampered a little. just- being held and taken care of would be nice. It doesn’t have to be anything non-platonic but I wouldn’t mind if it was? Gentle snark, reassurance, maybe a massage, please.
What is your best physical attribute? (showing said attribute is optional) - Strong legs? I suppose my butt’s nice too. I like the curve of my back? Hands and eyes? it’s a very subjective question for someone who doesn’t like themselves.
If you were the opposite sex for one day, what would you look like and what would you do? - find a way not to change back, thank you! finally, the correct bits. Don’t mind if I do.
Do you have a secret talent? If yes, what is it? - I can’t.. think of any? Nothing that’d be a secret anyway. Unless walking so quietly that I startle people sometimes counts? I don’t do that on purpose, though. Being so oblivious to something I end up bypassing it’s complications by sheer force of will?
What is one unique thing you’re afraid of? - I’m usually not afraid of any tangible things, only general things like pain and being abandoned by the people I love. Or never being accepted and loved in general. I’ve been working through haphephobia for years, but specifically; I’m afraid that my fear of touch will smear itself onto the relationships I feel the most comfortable and myself in. I can’t help flinching, it’s still instinctual, and I can’t tolerate a whole lot of contact from most people- but the longer I go without any contact, the more I fear that next time it’ll burn again. I almost regret telling my friends that I have haphephobia, because instead of asking if I’m okay with something, now I’m just- deprived of contact all together. It’s fairly hard to teach the brain that something is normal and okay when it’s never there at all.
You can only have one kind of sandwich. Every sandwich ingredient known to humankind is at your disposal. - OH- definitely begin with some kickass, fresh-baked oat loaf, one you’ve bought that morning. Slice it thick, because it’s soft and divine. As for fillings, I am torn between several types of fish. Gravlax is amazing in itself, but smoked salmon in mayo with diced cucumber, lemon juice, dill, green onion, maybe celery sounds superb. or tuna in tomato purée, with freshly diced chives and tiny bit of mayo to balance the tang, if you want a simpler filling.  For salad bits; salad, cucumber, tomato, red onion, red bellpepper.   Optionally, some bacon and mushroom salad (it’s made from home-salted mushrooms that have been de-salted once, with diced red onion, mayo, maybe dijon, and white pepper. I make the best damn mushroom salad)  As for cheese, feta crumbs, mozzarella slices or a pan-crisp goat cheese button. For sauce, I prefer garlic or cucumber mayo, or even a yogurt sauce.  on top, a slightly gooey fried egg seasoned with citron-pepper and chili (so that the yolk may graze all the goodness). If you wish to be decadent as hell, throw some diced garlic, butter and yellow onion onto a pan, crisp it, throw it on top of all and then throw some choice sauces on it.  Even without the salmon filling, the bacon and mushroom salad with the rest makes for the best damn experience you could have whilst eating a sandwich.
You just found $100! How are you going to spend it? - Save half, buy food and something for my friend.
You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, but you have to leave immediately. Where are you going to go? - no thanks, all my goods are here. But Norway and Iceland would be nice one day.
An angel appears out of Heaven and offers you a lifetime supply of the alcoholic beverage of your choice. “Be brand-specific” it says. Man! What are you gonna say about that? Even if you don’t drink booze there’s something you can figure out… so what’s it gonna be? - uhhhhh, I don’t usually drink alcohol cause I can’t stand the taste. I’ve known to very rarely have a long-drink or a lemonade-esque thing though. So maybe Smirnoff ICE, If I was to drink it myself. Otherwise, rum or hard spirits like, a vodka of some kind, cause they are fairly versatile to use in emergencies, to bake with, or to gift.
You discover a beautiful island upon which you may build your own society. You make the rules. What is the first rule you put into place? - Be kind.
What is your favorite expletive? - Saatana or perkele. I am a finn after all.
Your house is on fire, holy shit! You have just enough time to run in there and grab ONE inanimate object. Don’t worry, your loved ones and pets have already made it out safely. So what’s the one thing you’re going to save from that blazing inferno? - computer. It is the most expensive one and it has all my art of info in it, so it’s very obvious. That or my important papers file.
You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be? - one would not be enough to erase the damage I suffer from today. I would erase being born, if given free choice.
You got kicked out of the country for being a time-traveling heathen who sleeps with celebrities and has super-powers. But check out this cool shit… you can move to anywhere else in the world! - I’d find a remote community in an area, have a cottage and just. I dunno, do art, bake and have a garden for fruits and cool projects. I’d make my own earthen oven. A big cast-iron pan.
The Celestial Gates Of Beyond have opened, much to your surprise because you didn’t think such a thing existed. Death appears. As it turns out, Death is actually a pretty cool entity, and happens to be in a fantastic mood. Death offers to return the friend/family-member/person/etc. of your choice to the living world. Who will you bring back? - Grandma. Her shitty husband bullied her in her last year while she was dying to breast cancer. I love her, and she deserved better.
What was your last dream about? - [Trigger warning, this gets extreme] I was belly-down on the ground, grabbed by the throat from behind. I wrangled one hand off, but every time I managed to get both, one of those hands would slip my grasp and choke me again. I barely got a single breath between. This went on and on and on. I cried for help and reached out, only for someone to grab my hand in disdain, saying something like ‘tsh, fine. Cry then.’ They held my hand in a way that their nails dug into that hand. I no longer had both hands to pry the assaulter’s hands away. I slowly choked to death.   I woke up and hand to claw at my own hand just to breathe through my panic. I felt those hands on my throat for days. This is, unfortunately, normal for me.
Are you a good….[insert anything you’d like here]? - No.
Have you ever been admitted to the hospital? - I have an autoimmune condition that has hospitalized and nearly killed me on several occasions. So yes. I take that in strides.
Have you ever built a snowman? - Yes, with my brothers. It was nice.
What is the color of your socks? - Black, always
What type of music do you like? - Anything between rock, pop, folk and classical. Violin music in particular.
Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets? - Both are nice
What is your favorite milkshake flavor? - chocolate or blueberry
What football team do you support? - I don’t watch football
Do you have any scars? - Yes. Stretch marks, old wounds, new wounds. I have a scar behind my left ear that if you were to touch it, you’d notice it has a split beneath it on the skull from how hard it was hit. I fell on a radiator edge when I was younger and almost lost my ear from it, got three stitches. I also have a scar below from a biking accident, couldn’t sit for a few weeks.
What do you want to be when you graduate? - Already did, and the answer is odd jobs and nothing, apparently.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? - torn between ‘existence’ and ‘bodily gender’
Are you reliable? - Yes and no. I will keep any secret and help out whenever I can but would I trust myself to handle anything I care about? No.
If you could ask your future self one question, what would it be? - Does it get better?
Do you hold grudges? - I do not forget, but I do not dwell.
If you could breed two animals together to defy the laws of nature, what new animal would you create? - A cat and a duck. The ultimate bastard.
What is the most unusual conversation you’ve ever had? - the one where a stalker told me they’d dug every information they could find for two weeks before talking to me. They asked for my home address in 30 different ways, apparently hoping I’d forget I’d said no. They proceeded to hand me a yaoi manga as a souvenir from a con. I felt vaguely threatened.
Are you a good liar? - hmm. I try not to lie, If I don’t want to answer I’ll dodge or say I don’t want to answer. But, I suppose I am, for being able to hide half the things that I’ve been able to.
How long could you go without talking? - I begin talking out loud to fill out soundless spaces, so not a whole lot.
What has been you worst haircut/style? - ‘I want to speak to the manager’ and ‘little timmy is the best soccer player in his class’
Have you ever baked your own cake? - I baked most of everything back at my parents, so yes.
Can you do any accents other than your own? - funny ones, mostly
What do you like on your toast? - spread, ham, cheese, tomato, cucumber, aromasalt, fried egg  - spread, liver patée, cucumber and aromasalt/pickles - spread, gravlax/tuna/salmon - spread, boiled egg slices, pickled herring (they come in jars, I prefer onion ones) in thinner slices, I add extra dill into the jars when I open them so they can marinate more.
What is the last thing you drew a picture of? - currently working on a personal WIP
What would be you dream car? - A car that someone else drives. With air conditioning.
Do you sing in the shower? Or do anything unusual in the shower? Explain. - no and no. I shower and then I’m done. I don’t like my voice, nor my body, nor wasting water. I do wash thoroughly though.
Do you believe in aliens? - It doesn’t interest me at all whether or not there is or isn’t.
Do you often read your horoscope? - only if it’s the only thing left to read or if it’s just readily visible without me looking for it. I think they’re bogus, but sometimes admittedly silly.
What is your favorite letter of the alphabet? - H or lowercase T, because I write them very loopy.
Which is cooler: dinosaurs or dragons? - They’re both cool in their own ways. A dinosaur is way bigger but as fantasy creatures dragons can fly, breathe elements and shape-shift though, hard to top that.
What do you think about babies? - Ew.
Tell something of your choice - If I had a cat, I’d name it Mishka or Meowkolash or Umi (sa, umineko ga inai to, “Umi” neko ga onaka ga suite iru) because I’m a nerd who loves umineko and bad jokes.
