Hello!! I really like the way your art looks- style, coloring, and everything!! I’m kind of curious how you draw faces, that’s one of the main things I’ve always struggled with (maybe because I used to just draw a ton of Sans and Wheatley who…don’t have much going for faces)

sooo im admittedly not that good at drawing different facial features/ expressions. the main things i do though are big eyes, lines on the nose and cheeks, big ears. i want it to look sorta like a mix btween cartoony and anime?? 

might be a little long so more under cut :]

whenever i draw a character, first thing i do is choose a shape that suits them! ill base it on personality most of the time. (explained further next paragraph). for the eyes, theres 2 main ways i draw them! ill either make the pupil half black with a highlight in the middle, or make the eye 2 colours with a highlight on the side!

A big thing i like to focus on is shape language! an example of this is how i draw Pearl and Marina from splatoon! i use sharp, triangular shapes for Pearl, on her eyes, tentacles, clothes, basically everywhere. For Marina, I use round, circular shapes! ig to portray the contrast in their personalities? something like that. My main inspiration for this and my artstyle in general is starrysharks (twt & tumblr)!!!! please check out his art its so shapey and colourful probably my favourite artist ever. 

if u struggle w making faces even, what i do is duplicate for example most of the time ill draw one eye, duplicate then flip it lol. u could also use the symmetry tool!! i usually never use guide lines and the sketch is my lineart most of the time.

big piece of advice that helped me a lot is to copy!! if you really like the artstyle of ur favourite show, try redrawing a screenshot from it! just remember to give credit if u reference from an artist👍👍

i have a lot of thoughts actually!!!! i dont ship stuff left and right for no reason, usually i just mind my business and chill until i see a dynamic that jsut tickles my brain and theirs is very much one of the kind i v much enjoy

anw i like to think lyney drops his mask around wrio bc he just sees right through him and his lies, reads him so easily, calls him out on his bs so easily so theres no point anymore to play nice (esp since he already saw); hes dropping his charming, elegant face and meets him with venom, showing all his true colors, his hidden side, his raw emotions. theres def loathing there, tension, anxiety, anger yet smth else, as if he cant decide to pull him down by his collar and bite his throat, rip into it, or crush his lips against his. he claims he hates him, maybe he did at first after everything that happened in the fortress, but he probably hates more the way he feels attracted to him, feels guilty, like hes supposed to not forgive him yet he cant stop thinking about him and how he ruined him--

and wrio who sees all this, his charming side he shows others and his "ugly" sides he shows wrio, sees the entirety of lyney - and wants him. doesnt subdue those flames but tames him. at first he kept his eyes on him to keep track of him but his interest and fascination grew more and more the more he saw all of him

lyneys struggling sm w himself and is so confused by wrio, meanwhile wrio is twirling his hair, kicking his feet or smth ajbjk

wrios thinking about lyneys many faces, how pretty he wears elegant confidence or burning hot anger while lyney thinks about how his hands look around wrios neck strangling him AHHAh lyney tells him of his murder plots (and ofc he doesnt go through w them, they both know it) and wrio smiles at him and gives him tips on more efficient ways. theyre the type who fight for flirts ig

“Can I hug you?” 

You asked him in a soft breath, dressed in a dark pinkish mauve turtleneck. It was somewhat tight, wrapping its cloth unto your body as if it were some sort of clay. It wasn’t your usual color, always somewhat preferring something else— and yet Five still stares, focusing, and as entranced as he can be. 

His eyes always find their way trailing to wherever he pleases. A ‘curious’ look coats his pupils as he unabashedly stares. And you plainly see it, every damn time— he doesn’t even try to hide it. 

He always, always- made himself obvious, as if he was letting you watch himself unfold right in front of you. 

And as you look him in the eye, daring to lick your bottom lip right in front of him. You don’t ask him why he stares, because you’re doing this on purpose. The glint in your pupils was too mischievous, even from you. 

Five has a good eye, that’s something you were- if not, need to be- sure of. 

He notices everything— he just does. It would be stupid to assume he wasn’t keen- observant even. 

Every time his fingers fasten his blazer- his wrists, swivelling as he adjusts his cuffs— or even when he holds something- even just a bottle, it always intrigues you— makes you cast your eyes right to his fingertips, a devilish gleam coats you. 

Honestly, he questions whenever you gawk unto his hands- supposedly, there was nothing much to marvel at. Blunt clean fingernails to keep jobs easier— filled with callouses from working with digging off scraps, adjusting weapons to fit his precision- his knuckles whitening from the amount of times skin has been scraped off and bloodied. 

And yet, you were so enthralled with such a simple thing- to the point that it drives him mad- Insane even, it surprises him on how you could be so interested in something so plain. 

But he would be a liar if he said he wasn’t amused. 

A tingly, warm feeling courses through Five’s veins as if he were some sort of addict, injecting himself with what the world can offer, and in this case, it was need. 

“Of course, angel.” His voice low, it rolls smoothly as if it were silk. 

A realization settled on his part- it was also want. The impulse to feel, to fully caress, he wants to embrace you even closer, to further bind you to his skin— your blood simultaneously pumps through your heart as his syncs with yours. 

The burning itch, as if flames would eat him alive if he dares not to think of it— to not think of pressing his lips up to the back of your neck, or on the crook by your pulse. 

The sheer pure want that settles into his lungs, the urge to breathe you in— He stops himself, letting himself feel you suddenly leave open kisses onto his face, a wind’s touch to clouds; light yet so rousing. 

“That wasn’t part of your deal.” Five teases, you only sigh unto his cheek, chuckling. 

“C’mon- can’t I kiss you out of all people?” Your voice drawls, a raised brow is drawn from your face. It only serves to make him laugh. 

“You don’t even need to ask.” He clarifies, shaking his own head. Your mouth shapes itself like clay, and he only sees your toothy smile— it was genuine; an artisan’s craft, and he merely admires it.  

Your lips press down almost roughly but still so soft as you hold his face by your palms. Your breath tickling his skin as if you were the sun to the sea. And one kiss after another, he was sure you would leave kiss marks, and as much as he hated messes, damn it- he likes it. 

He felt perverted, for liking it this much— your simple kisses bubbled something in his chest, and it was drowning him. 

It was as if something set off in him; a fire fed with fuel, as he felt your fingertips slide further by his ears, right at the crook of his nape.  You lightly caress his head as you leave another kiss right beside his mouth- and he only leans in further. 

His hands slip- wrapping his fingers unto yours as he guides them down from his own face to his upper arms. Your face quivers in confusion, but it fades, his palms hike down to your sides, to your waist— He pulls you close to him, pushing his lips to yours. 

You merely open your mouth, his tongue muffling a sound that escapes your throat— You grip onto his shoulders almost tightly, and his only reaction was a smile that you felt form on your own lips. He lets his hands slither underneath your sweater, caressing so softly to your supple skin. 

And he was sure— that he fell into this trap, letting himself become strung unto the threads of temptation. That this hunger for you has grown as each day passes, and his need to feast merely grows precariously; an invasive weed to a perfect field. 

He presses himself closer to you, throwing you off- and his hands only further skid through the creases of your back— the pads of his fingertips cold compared to the warmth of your skin. He can’t help it— the pure festered desire just can’t quell itself, and all he finds himself wanting is more. 

Adjusting his head, he tilts himself, your teeth bump into each other but he doesn’t mind— he wants this, he needs to be closer- and god— Your hips pressed to his, roughly shifting yourself to match his movements. His pelvis teasingly slides down, hiking back up and burying himself unto your own, your body tenses.

He slips out a shaky groan— He could have sworn he felt his own eyes flutter out of shock. His fingers almost painfully dig down to your skin, and you hum in response. “Fuck.“ His eyes roll, a guttural grunt slipping again from his throat. Before you could even come back to the depths of his lips— His hands- still underneath your sweater- trail to your bare sides, making you shudder. 

He almost stopped- a small impulse sprouts itself to go back up and to press his lips against yours— But he doesn’t— feeling you push yourself to his palms, urging- silently pleading him to continue— and his laugh vibrates, a searing sensation against you. 

“You really want this?” He whispers to your ear, warm to your flushed skin. You merely form a small serpentine grin, not even hesitating to murmur a silken yes so low he almost didn’t even hear it- yet, it dares to shudder a ripple unto his own spine.

He drags his lips again unto you— and you only huff breathily, echoing a hum of pleasure as Five trails up. His hands grasp unto you, and he forces himself to watch, to see the glint of deconcentration that shone in your eyes because of him. How your mouth shaped into an “O” just as you felt him touch— The way you tried to hide your now aflamed face, only receiving another chuckle as his fingers slipped even lower, briefly touching your waist. 

Damn it- This— you were a pure act of desecration; the destroying of his own control. It was irreverent-  sinful, to even think that he needs, desires you this much. 

It was as if he were a man desperate to get even a drop from an oasis’s springs in a desert full of sand and grime threatening to choke him with each breath he takes; he was simply feeling something quell in his throat, it was as if it were thirst— or even worse, it was hunger. 

He knows— Fascination wraps unto him; an anchor into the depths of desire.

And all his sight lets him conjure is you, the one who plagues his dreams with temptation— merely watching him sink down with it.

My Old man's tale about benetint (product) & review:

in summer 2008 i was 14 & my best friend's family took me to Vegas w them. she had only just moved to my school for 9th grade & i hadn't met her older sister til this trip. She was 21 & soooo insanely beautiful like if barbie was a hollister model she had the look so refined in every sense, i was dazzled by her.

& she was so sweet to us, my friends parents went & did their own thing so the whole trip we spent with her but she wasn't annoyed about it at all she seemed content to hang w us & protect us from vile men along the strip.

On this trip i went to sephora for the first time. hadn't heard of it before. it had huge windows so everything was glowing from sunlight & it was sooo overwhelming. my friend's sister liked this brand benefit so i picked out a little starter kit that came w bad gal mascara, high beam highlighter, booing concealer, and benetint.. Let me tell you for the next year i cherished this kit like it elevated me a new level towards Prestiged Adult Woman status. but the makeup was noticeably nicer quality for sure! from my memory at least.

the thing i remember most was benetint cus i wore it soooo much for the rest of the summer & beyond, i stretched that tiny bottle as far as it wld go cus i luved it sm.. but after it ran out i never tried to use it again idk just being a teen moving onto the next thing. But lately i jst rly wanted a goood lip tiiiint cus i dont wanna b wearing lipstick or gloss all the time its too much i just want chapstick but i like a little more color too.. usually i wld use lip liner but it always felt like it wld smudge off so quick n its kinda drying.

so i tried benetint again bcus i remember it being so easy to put on n then just forget about, it didnt get on ur clothes or teeth or nothin. after wearing for a couple weeks i can say this is still tru! i rly like it, very convenient, chapstick goes gr8 over top so my lips r never dry from it. its kind of expensive but it lasts a long time , for me i dnt have much makeup rn so felt nice to get st i actually use ^^ the taste & smell of it are mildly rosey, rly brings me back to those times..

being in vegas those 4 days w my friend n her sis are definitely a core memory for me it was totally surreal. i wish i had photos still but no clue where to find them, my friend's fb account got hacked years ago n had to get deleted, so many photos gone </3 we stayed at treasure island & across the street was this huge mall that was repeatedly playing an ipod commercial with the song Shut Up & Let Me Go by the ting-tings, like... ON REPEAT, ALL DAY & ALL NIGHT, so that song gives me the wildest flashbacls like i'm literally There. In the august heat. i can smell it like. its amazing thank you advertising :)

this is not an ad btw i mean obviously LOL i honestly just got thinking so hard about vegas '08 after purchasing The Product. oh yeah there was thunderstorms too... i went to hot topic at the mall which was wild for me since they didnt have one any where near my town.. i got some shorts from hollister i remember, also a rarity. friends sis got me my first ever drink, a peach daquiri...just one <3 it was such a nice break from my woeful home life lol i wanted to live in america so bad after this xD

i just finished reading chapter 50 of jtta and oh my gosh. i don’t even know where to start.

jtta is SUCH an amazing work of art that my words fall short.. it’s rlly the best fanfiction i have EVER read and i’m sure it’ll continue to be my Number One forever. your writing style is absolutely beautiful and your choice of words is IMMACULATE. the way you describe certain scenes truly baffles me everytime like,, there’s people out there who are really able to write like this?? they can magically plant a mental imagine w colors and all in my head from??? Words only??? u r so amazing omf

i also have to say that ur work has rlly helped me with expanding my own vocabulary — i had to look up a A LOT of words (though i’m sure i forgot them all by now..) but it was always so fun to learn new stuff!

your mind fascinates me sm bc?? when i was reading some scenes from jtta i rlly thought ‘man.. if i was the author i’d have no idea how to solve this..’ but u managed to surprise me every. single. time. u outdid urself each time and my jaw legit dropped at some scenes bc i could’ve NEVER EVER thought of that,,,

jtta got me all wrapped up in this universe that whenever i went back to read other obey me work or play obey me itself, i got sad bc the newspaper club and ik weren’t there 😭

normally i’m sad about things ending, esp when i indulged in it over a course of time but with jtta all i felt was a warmth (oh and the tears…..) in my body, it rlly couldn’t have ended better!! jtta made me elict all sorts of emotions while reading and it was just such a wonderful experience!

ok so i think u guys would HATE me for the amount of art i gatekeep to myself (mostly bc its like rly sketchy and uncolored and i don't like posting those) but when i tell you i have entire folders dedicated to dazai and chuuya sketches and like various other ships that i like that i save for coloring later,,,,,,,,,its insane. i think i should get to coloring those sometime

9. What are your file name conventions

im boring asf so it's normally just the name of the thing i'm drawing 😭 like for dazai's art folder i labeled it "dazai bsd" instead of "skrunkly manwhore (affectionate)" or smth. maybe i should change that

12. Easiest part of body to draw

hair fs. i always have sm fun w it and ik a lot of ppl struggle w hair but tbh i spend like a minute tops drawing hair i'm familiar with. eyes is a close second but sometimes i struggle w different eye types

>> i think my weirdest one is rly just the main way i render tbh ? like, as u can pretty easily see with my main art style is that its all very crunchy n pixelated, n thats all cause i have anti-aliasing off for my brush . i render in a pretty unorthodox way but it makes things so so so much easier and more fun for me, even if its more time consuming for several reasons

heres a little bit of an infographic ive whipped up that hopefully u can get smth out of lmao . its 6am ive been up all night drawing as usual so im having a lot of trouble doing things properly sorry sorry

and the funny thing is this is aaaaaaaaall just cause i hate blending and am scared of committing to things (esp colors) so i just decided "okay whatever im gonna be goofy and just make it all pixelated idc anymore" and it worked !! (thanks homestuck) art is sm more enjoyable since i started doing this as it fits perfectly with the way my brain works and its helped me sm with getting better at colors bc of the way i have to do every single color manually (for several reasons like how i have to keep track of every color ((which makes me recycle them a lot more making things look more united)), gradients r the most fun to do but i have to make sure all the colors "blend" together nicely, i get to change them super easily, etc etc)

however these days i HAVE been trying to get back into working with anti-aliased brushes just to get out of my comfort zone n such, but tbh the only thing its helped me with is remind me how much more fun drawing aliased is and how absolutely dogshit i am at blending FDJHJKDF

also it makes me better at minecraft skins since im so used to working with pixels !

>> another little weird thing i have that honestly just goes against basic art rules is experiment by having ur values be as close together as possible without losing contrast . this is horrible as a tip, but fun as an experiment, and for me its just fun since i already know pretty well how values work and have enough experience to break the "rules" - because lot of times good shading colors r actually lighter than the original when put under b&w

so if ur like me i would recommend trying it out ! if u dont even know what values are then this ISNT good for u, do values properly as they really help

>> if u struggle a lot with side profiles, just learn from the gorillaz demon days album art . like literally im not joking that is THE thing that made me learn to draw side profiles and id say im pretty good at them now (however the effectiveness of this probably depends on the style)

and by learn from it i mean u can just trace it with any other characters, or study it, or reference it, yadaydayada . just do wahtever with it, damon albarn dgaf

obviously this isnt gonna magically make u great at side profiles but if u want a fun art challenge or ur a big gorillaz fan like me, it could get u kickstarted !!!! especially if ur doing it with ocs or characters u like that are in a band or something

hm… I dunno if I can say I have like. A concrete process. i am self taught and like by no means an expert on art and therefore I may not be able to provide the greatest advice but i can try to make sense of generally how I draw!

most of the time when I do digital I start out with a rough sketch and then go to lineart, but sometimes (esp cause I just don’t always enjoy doing lineart) I just skip that step and use my rough sketch and color that in. But usually when I am working on a bigger fullbody character for the rough sketch I will draw just their base body first on one layer and draw things like their hair/clothes/accessories/etc on other layers to kinda help me figure out where things are gonna go, so it’s less messy if I need to change something.

As for poses, I use CSP and it’s 3D model tool is super helpful for me, cause I struggle with proportions and posing if I don’t have a good reference. However the one catch is that sometimes if you rely too much on those models your posing can look stiff, so sometimes (if I have the spoons) I will draw a simple stick body like usual over the model, and then draw another stick body next to it but this time I’ll try to exaggerate the pose. Make it more interesting. sometimes I’ll do the same w facial expressions.

Tbh a way I’ve improved my expressiveness is just by studying/taking in art styles I really like. like for example I love the styles in some anime and also some 80s/90s cartoons, so sometimes I take the time to just look over how those art styles move and flow and sometimes I just practice trying to incorporate some of those style changes in my art. (ngl I think one of the biggest factors in my art becoming more expressive over the past year or two was watching one piece lmao)

For things like shading/coloring, I’m not as much of an expert and I still need to learn a lot in that department, but one thing that has helped me is shading the same piece two ways. Learning that there are hard shadows on an object and softer, ambient shadows as well. Usually when I am doing a nicer piece I will go in with a harder paintbrush to add in my hard, defined shadows, and then on another layer I will add soft shadows to the piece with an airbrush. I’ll do the same with lighting too. It adds a lot of depth.
