Keyboard-player and producer Keith O'Connell and Burnley DJ turned studiogeek Mike Collins (Sun Palace) were unofficial members of Light Of The World. It's a shame I can't find more about Keith O'Connell, in the 1970s and 80s Collins and O'Connell seemed to have been thick as thieves playing and producing together. Mike Collins is different, before his death in 2018 he had had an online footprint, Collins had become a writer of music production books so, as a writer, to see he was blogging isn't that surprising. I love Rude Movements and I'd periodically search online for information about it, in 2011 Mike Collins wrote a blog post about it. He described the recording the track and sprinkled this with little tidbits like SunPalace had originally been called Rude Note and renamed by britfunk label Passion - I'm a record obsessive I lap this shit up. Before this blog post appeared I saw SunPalace as a faceless studio group, now they have names and are a little less obscure. I've just read a line saying Rude Movements came from outer space - it didn't, like all art it came from hard work and dedication, this gets missed from art and contributes to the work put into making the stuff being undervalued

Rude Movements is popular with a whole variety of DJs, and it's a 'what's this?' kinda track, so when it is included on the Nuphonic compilation David Mancuso Presents The Loft in 1999 it was a record I had been looking for. In Mike Collins blog post he lists appearances and remixes, Collins misses a few, Rude Movements is the basis for Groove Committee track Just Play The Music on NuGroove highlighting its proto-houseness. If anyone knows the vocal sample used on Just Play The Music Gert in touch, it's been driving me made for almost two decades

Kenny Dope included Rude Movements on Stop And Listen Volume 5 that he compiled for BBE. Sixteen years later in 2016 BBE put out a compilation of unreleased SunPalace/Mike Collins material. This is followed by The Lost Tapes EP on Chuwanaga, released just before Mike Collins' death. RIP
