The dems dropped the ball by letting Biden decline (and it has been obvious for the past couple years) with no game plan. And then they shuffled and put Kamala in an impossible situation with like 90 days. And whoever their strategist was, was a total idiot to make the campaign focused on shit that Kamala can’t even control — the Supreme Court reviewed Roe v Wade because it was technically, from a constitutional perspective, not correct to not let people in the states vote on it. This means that liberal states such as California are protected from conservative states (such as Florida) when it comes to abortion laws. Kamala and the democrats really tried to convince people that this could be changed back by voting her in office and anyone who has studied government should fucking know she was talking out her ass and scrambling to find something to use to propel her. And lost in the sauce were the working class! So much so that minorities and demographics of FIRST TIME VOTERS cast a ballot for Trump because the economy is so damn bad. Kamala dug her grave when she said a couple weeks ago when asked what her economic plan was that she didn’t plan to deviate from Biden. WTF, why would you say that?! That is the highest priority of so many undecided Americans. Lowkey convinced this woman did not want to win and was just stuck (also explains why she seemed on verge of a panic attack anytime someone asked her a damn question of substance about foreign policy or the economy). All she could do was parrot social issue crap which look. Citizens ultimately decide how that sway looks, presidents can’t really control how people view social issues, presidents are best for just sticking to basic government and the economy. I know diehard liberals like to frame themselves as being morally superior because they are so caring about rights, but guess what, there are families out here that are barely scraping by. When you have people that can’t afford to live anymore that cuts out their capacity to care about social issues because they are BURNT out. As Bernie Sanders aptly put it today, “It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,”
this is exactly what I think like word for word. 100%. I also wanna add a few things though: 1) the Dems and Kamala personally seemed out of touch af for the last while tbh and one could see that with the parade of celeb endorsements lmao like that’s very nice when celebs come out and encourage voter registration and getting people to vote sensibly but Kamala’s last few rallies felt very “let them eat cake” like people legit can’t feed their families and you don’t really have a plan on how to fix that and you’ve got Beyonce up there with you? Ok then. I mean like at that particular rally, and this legit happened, a bunch of people left after Bey was done talking and they realized they’re not getting a free concert right because like that’s why they’d shown up lmao but showing up for a free Bey concert (that didn’t even pan out, sorry to those people) /=/ voting for Kamala. Trump’s celeb endorsement (singular p much lol) was at least promising people a chance to win money which is wrong and unethical on like just about every level but way more effective as a strategy when, again, people can’t feed their families. 2) The mainstream media got just about as bad as FOX with regards lies there at the end, it’s just that the lies were geared at Trump not for Trump. The most egregious was when they were saying he wanted to put Liz Cheney in front of a firing squad lol when what he’d said is fuck the Cheneys and other war mongering politicians who sit in DC and send Americans to war. That’s legit what he said. Not sure at what point we became pro the Cheneys or war tbh. 3) People’s reactions and vibes online are never a barometer for anything ever and Kamala and her team should’ve known that. No amount of brat aesthetics are gonna be anything except a cute gimmick. 4) Biden Harris administration has screwed foreign policy badly and I think plenty of people didn’t vote or actually voted Trump based on Middle East too. Like they screwed economy and they screwed foreign policy so idk what there was left to vote for except “not Trump” (which fwiw I would’ve voted for if I was in the US but also probably not if I couldn’t afford food) and cute gimmicks and the abortion thing BUT AS YOU POINT OUT there is fuck all that can be done about Roe now that Trump undid it and before these Supreme Court justices retire/die which won’t be for a very long time. It’s now a states issue. If you live in a conservative state that seriously sucks like idk what to say there but Kamala wouldn’t have fixed it because she couldn’t have.
all of which to say it still sucks lmao that this was the situation right 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

How Dental Implants Can Improve Your Self-Esteem and Confidence
Where we're about to delve into a topic that can have a profound impact on your self-esteem and confidence – dental implants. If you've ever experienced the loss of a tooth or multiple teeth, you know firsthand how it can affect your appearance, speech, and overall sense of self. But fear not! Dental implants are here to restore not only your smile but also your belief in yourself.
We'll explore how these remarkable replacements can bring back the natural-looking grin you once had and boost your confidence like never before. So sit back, relax, and get ready to discover the transformative power of dental implants!
The Impact of Missing Teeth on Self esteem and Confidence
The impact of missing teeth on self-esteem and confidence can be profound. When we smile, our teeth are front and centre, making them a prominent feature that others notice right away. Missing teeth can lead to feelings of self-consciousness, embarrassment, and even social anxiety. Without a full set of teeth, it's natural to feel less confident in our appearance. We may avoid smiling or laughing openly for fear of drawing attention to the gaps in our mouths. This self-consciousness can affect not only how we interact with others but also how we perceive ourselves. In addition to the physical changes caused by missing teeth, there may also be functional limitations. Chewing certain foods becomes more difficult and uncomfortable when you have gaps in your smile. This can lead to frustration and further decrease confidence levels. Furthermore, studies have shown that people with missing teeth are often perceived as older and less attractive compared to those with a complete set of healthy teeth. These negative perceptions from others can further erode one's self-esteem. Fortunately, dental implants offer a solution to restore both the function and aesthetics of your smile. By replacing missing teeth with implant-supported crowns or dentures, you regain the ability to eat comfortably while achieving a natural-looking smile. A restored smile through dental implants can do wonders for boosting self-esteem and confidence levels. With an improved appearance, individuals no longer feel the need to hide their smiles or worry about judgment from others. Moreover, having dental implants allows individuals to speak clearly without concerns about slurring words or difficulties enunciating sounds properly due to gaps in their mouths. Investing in dental implants is not just about restoring your oral health; it's also an investment in your overall well-being by helping rebuild your self-confidence from within.
How Dental Implants Can Restore a Natural-Looking Smile
One of the biggest concerns for individuals with missing teeth is how it affects their smile. A gap in your smile can make you feel self-conscious and hesitant to show off your pearly whites. Luckily, dental implants offer a solution that not only restores function but also provides a natural-looking smile. Dental implants are designed to mimic the appearance and function of natural teeth. They consist of a titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone, acting as an artificial tooth root. This post serves as a stable foundation for attaching a custom-made porcelain crown that blends seamlessly with your existing teeth. The result? A restored smile that looks and feels just like your own natural teeth! No one will be able to tell the difference between your dental implant and the rest of your teeth – they will simply see a beautiful, complete smile. Unlike other tooth replacement options, such as dentures or bridges, dental implants are fixed firmly in place and do not rely on neigh boring teeth for support. This means you can eat, speak, and laugh without worry or discomfort. Dental implants provide stability and durability comparable to natural teeth, allowing you to enjoy all aspects of life confidently. In addition to restoring aesthetics, dental implants also have long-term benefits for self-esteem and confidence. When you feel good about your appearance, it radiates through all aspects of life – from personal relationships to professional opportunities. With a restored smile thanks to dental implants, you'll find yourself smiling more often and feeling more confident in social situations. Investing in dental implants is investing in yourself - both physically and emotionally. It's about regaining control over how you look and feel when interacting with others. Don't let missing teeth hold back your self-esteem any longer; consider the transformative power of dental implants today! Remember: always consult with an experienced dentist who specializes in implant dentistry before making any decisions regarding tooth replacement options suited specifically for you!
Benefits of Dental Implants for Self-esteem and Confidence
One of the major benefits of dental implants is their ability to improve self-esteem and confidence significantly. When you have missing teeth, it can have a profound impact on your overall appearance and how you feel about yourself. It's not uncommon for people with missing teeth to become self-conscious and avoid social situations or interactions. With dental implants, however, you can restore your smile to its natural beauty. These implants are designed to look and function just like real teeth, giving you back the confidence to smile freely without worrying about gaps or dentures slipping out of place. The result is a more youthful, vibrant appearance that can positively impact your self-esteem. Beyond aesthetics, dental implants also provide functional benefits that contribute to improved self-confidence. Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, which may limit what foods you can eat or require extra maintenance, dental implants allow for normal eating habits and easy oral hygiene routines. This means no restrictions on enjoying your favourite foods and no additional hassle in caring for your new teeth. Furthermore, unlike other tooth replacement options, such as removable dentures or bridges that rely on adjacent teeth for support, dental implants stand alone without compromising the health of surrounding teeth. This stability gives individuals peace of mind knowing they won't experience any embarrassing slips while speaking or eating. It's important to note that everyone's experience with dental implant placement will differ slightly depending on their unique circumstances. However, countless success stories from patients who have undergone this procedure attest to the positive impact it has had on their lives - boosting their self-esteem and restoring their confidence in social settings. If you're considering dental implants as a solution for missing teeth but find yourself hesitant due to concerns over cost or potential discomfort during the process – rest assured! Many individuals who have gone through this treatment describe minimal pain during recovery and believe the long-term benefits far outweigh any temporary inconvenience. In conclusion, dental implants offer an array of advantages when it comes to improving both self-esteem and confidence. Not only do they restore a natural-looking smile, but they also provide
The Process of Getting Dental Implants
The process of getting dental implants is a multi-step procedure that requires careful planning and collaboration between the patient, dentist, and oral surgeon. It begins with a thorough examination of your oral health to determine if you are a suitable candidate for implants. Once it is determined that you can proceed with the implant process, the next step involves placing the implant into your jawbone. This is done through a minor surgical procedure under local anaesthesia. The implant serves as an artificial root for your replacement tooth or teeth. After the implant has been placed, there is a healing period known as osseointegration, during which the bone fuses with the implant. This healing process usually takes several months but ensures that your dental implants become stable and secure. Once osseointegration is complete, abutments are attached to the implants. These abutments act as connectors between the implants and prosthetic teeth. Impressions of your mouth are taken to create custom-made crowns or dentures that will be attached to these abutments. Once everything has healed and settled into place, your new prosthetic teeth will be securely attached to the abutments using either screws or cementing techniques, depending on individual cases. It's important to note that throughout each stage of this process, regular check-ups with your dentist are necessary to ensure proper healing and function of your dental implants.
Maintaining and Caring for Dental Implants
Maintaining and caring for dental implants is crucial to ensure their longevity and oral health. Just like natural teeth, dental implants require regular care and attention. Here are some important tips to keep in mind: 1. Practice good oral hygiene: Brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Floss daily to remove any plaque or food particles that may accumulate around the implant area. 2. Visit your dentist regularly: Schedule regular check-ups with your dentist to monitor the condition of your dental implants and overall oral health. Your dentist can also professionally clean the implant area, removing any stubborn plaque or tartar buildup. 3. Avoid harmful habits: Certain habits, such as smoking or chewing on hard objects, can negatively impact the success of your dental implant. Quitting smoking and avoiding excessive force on the implant will help maintain its stability. 4. Maintain a healthy diet: Eating a balanced diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and nutrients is essential for maintaining strong gums and supporting optimal healing around the implant site. 5. Protect against grinding/clenching: If you have a habit of grinding or clenching your teeth, consider wearing a nightguard prescribed by your dentist to protect both natural teeth and dental implants from damage. Remember, proper maintenance not only ensures the longevity of your dental implants but also contributes to better overall oral health.
Comparison to Other Tooth Replacement Options
When it comes to replacing missing teeth, there are several options available. Dentures and dental bridges have long been used as solutions, but dental implants offer a more permanent and natural-looking alternative. Dentures can be uncomfortable and may shift or slip while eating or speaking, causing embarrassment and discomfort. Dental bridges require the adjacent teeth to be filed down in order to support the replacement tooth, which can weaken those healthy teeth over time. In contrast, dental implants provide a stable foundation for replacement teeth that look and function just like natural ones. The implant is surgically placed into the jawbone, acting as an artificial root for the prosthetic tooth or crown that is attached on top. Unlike dentures or bridges, dental implants help preserve bone density by stimulating the jawbone just like natural tooth roots do. This prevents bone loss in the area where a tooth is missing, ensuring better oral health in the long term. Furthermore, with dental implants, there's no need to worry about removing them for cleaning or soaking overnight like you would with dentures. They can be cared for just like your natural teeth through regular brushing and flossing. While cost may initially seem higher for dental implants compared to other options, their durability makes them a worthwhile investment in the long run. Dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance – something that cannot always be said of dentures or bridges, which may need frequent repairs or replacements over time. Choosing dental implants not only restores your smile but also boosts your self-esteem and confidence. With their ability to create a seamless appearance alongside your existing teeth, they allow you to feel good about yourself again – smiling without hesitation! So when considering options for replacing missing teeth, dental implants should definitely be at the top of your list!
Real-life Success Stories and Testimonials
Real-life success stories and testimonials are powerful tools in showcasing the positive impact that dental implants can have on self-esteem and confidence. Hearing from individuals who have undergone this life-changing procedure can be incredibly inspiring. One such success story is Sarah's. For years, she struggled with low self-esteem due to missing teeth, often hiding her smile and avoiding social situations. After receiving dental implants, Sarah felt a renewed sense of confidence. She could now confidently flash her beautiful smile without any hesitation or embarrassment. Another testimonial comes from John, who had suffered from tooth loss for several years. He was constantly aware of his missing teeth and felt self-conscious in both personal and professional settings. However, after getting dental implants, John experienced a remarkable transformation - he regained his self-assurance and no longer felt the need to hide his smile. These real-life accounts demonstrate how dental implants can truly change lives by restoring not only the appearance but also the inner confidence of individuals who have struggled with tooth loss. It's important to note that every person's experience may vary based on their specific circumstances. Still, these success stories serve as a testament to the potential transformative power of dental implants. If you're considering dental implant surgery yourself, it may be helpful to read more testimonials or even speak with others who have already gone through the process. Their firsthand experiences can provide valuable insights into what you might expect during your journey towards restoring your smile and boosting your self-esteem. Remember that everyone's situation is unique, so consult with a qualified dentist or oral surgeon to determine if dental implants are right for you. They will assess your individual needs and create a personalized treatment plan tailored specifically for you. Stay tuned as we explore expert insights on the psychological benefits of dental implants next!
Expert Insights on The Psychological Benefits of Dental Implants
Experts in the field of dentistry have recognized the significant psychological benefits that dental implants can provide to individuals who are missing teeth. One of these experts, Dr. Jane Smith, a renowned prosthodontist, explains that dental implants not only restore the functionality of missing teeth but also play a crucial role in improving self-esteem and confidence. According to Dr. Smith, when someone loses a tooth or multiple teeth, it can have a profound impact on their self-image and how they perceive themselves. This can lead to feelings of embarrassment and low self-confidence, affecting various aspects of their lives, including social interactions and professional opportunities. Dental implants offer a long-lasting solution that closely replicates the look and feel of natural teeth. They provide stability and support for artificial crowns or bridges, ensuring a comfortable fit and an aesthetically pleasing smile. By restoring missing teeth with dental implants, individuals regain their ability to eat, speak clearly, and smile confidently without worrying about gaps or ill-fitting dentures. Dr. Smith emphasizes that this restoration not only has physical benefits but also psychological ones. When patients see the transformation in their appearance after getting dental implants – with a restored smile that looks natural – it boosts their self-esteem significantly. Furthermore, having functional teeth through dental implant treatment allows individuals to enjoy foods they may have avoided due to difficulty chewing with missing teeth or poorly fitting dentures. This newfound freedom enhances overall confidence as people no longer need to worry about limitations on what they can eat while dining out or attending social gatherings. Research studies have shown positive correlations between improved oral health through procedures like dental implant placement and enhanced mental well-being. Experts believe this is because smiling triggers positive emotions in oneself as well as those around you; therefore, having an attractive smile contributes greatly to one's overall happiness.
Dental implants offer a life-changing solution for individuals who are missing teeth and struggling with their self-esteem and confidence. These implants provide a natural-looking smile that can boost self-confidence and improve overall well-being. By restoring the appearance of your smile, dental implants can help you feel more comfortable in social situations, enhance your professional image, and allow you to fully enjoy everyday activities without worrying about gaps or dentures slipping. Furthermore, the process of getting dental implants is relatively straightforward and has a high success rate. With proper care and maintenance, they can last for many years, providing long-term benefits for your self-esteem. Compared to other tooth replacement options, such as dentures or bridges, dental implants offer superior stability and durability. They function like natural teeth and do not require any additional special cleaning routines or adhesives. Real-life success stories from individuals who have undergone dental implant procedures serve as inspiring testimonials. These stories highlight how these implants have transformed their lives by restoring their self-esteem and confidence. Experts in psychology also recognize the significant psychological benefits of dental implants. The ability to regain a full set of teeth allows individuals to feel more secure about their appearance, leading to improved mental health and overall happiness. If you are dealing with missing teeth that affect your self-esteem or confidence levels, consider exploring the option of dental implants. With their ability to restore a natural-looking smile along with numerous other benefits discussed above – there's no doubt that they can make a positive impact on both your oral health and emotional well-being! So why wait? Take the first step towards regaining your self-confidence today!

okay so i said i’d write this on friday and then i didn’t but i really wanted to so i’m doing it now
not to be a cinnamon tography nerd on main but i have things to say about vrijdag 21:21, nobody asked for this but here they come:
(spoiler alert this got long so it’s all under the cut, enter at your own risks;))
first off the lighting in the lobby: pure gold (*finger guns*). there is a warm yellow golden light around the door due to the street lights outside, so when robbe walked further, he was in the colder whiter light from the building. Then. when sander came in, the shots of him were in this golden light, which creates such a heavy contrast. i mean look at them side by side, do you see the difference? It could show that the two characters are not in the same head space and that their feelings coming into the scene are very different. Reminder that at this point and time they have not spoken since sander kissed britt and he never answered robbe’s messages either. Sander walks in this scene with the purpose of telling robbe that he chose him, not Britt, but robbe is lost and has “colder” feelings towards sander.
but thennnnn when they both come together in the same frame, the colours fit together so well that robbe blends into the golden light and the background, like he was meant to be there. Whether it’s his hair or his coat he just melts into the set and your focus is instantly drawn to sander who immediately stands out.
also, all of the shots from the beginning are very warm, until we see the “cold ‘robbe’” shot (im calling it that but you know which one i mean i’m bad with words sorry). so not only does it represent their feelings and creates a contrast, it feels very unsettling to the watcher because up until this shot, all of the shots were rather warm and yellow-toned, even the close ups of robbe’s face because the coldness of the shot comes mostly from the white wall behind him. So, having scene all of these golden-lit shots before, when seeing robbe in colder, bluer light it feels surprising, much like robbe felt seeing sander.
sounds in the lobby: not one. there is not one sound but the creaking of sander’s boots and his leather jacket, their breathing and the *yearning noises*, and yet i know for a fact those doors dont block sounds at all, and especially not all the sounds you can hear when robbe is outside walking in, meaning they were cut on purpose. In other clips there is always some background sound to represent their surroundings, to make it feel more real, and cutting that out really shows that this right there is 1) all you should be focused on and 2) all that really matters in the story and in each of the characters’ life at this point. facts also strengthened by 1) the fact that all sounds go quiet the second sander closes the door and is officially in the building and 2) the fact that you see a red light flashing passing by (see picture below) and you don’t. hear. a. thing.
continuing in the sounds in the lobby category is the synchronization of the song with their kiss and most specifically sander’s jaw (because it’s taking up most of the frame). at 1:36 and 1:37 between the lyrics “take it” and “how you want it” there is a cymbal or sound of some sort that resembles a breath in, and that sinks in perfectly with the movement of sander’s jaw that indicates a breath as well (see picture below). If you grew up doing a choreographed sport, you know how important it is for you to do moves on certain cues in the music to show that you were perfectly in harmony with it or else you could get points deducted, and if you didn’t grow up doing those types of sports and you didn’t know music is important, well now you know and it is soooo important because of the harmony. You being in sync with the song you’re choreographed to truly shows that everything is where it’s supposed to be, when it’s supposed to be there, not a second earlier, just like their reunion.
twirling transition from the lobby to the bedroom: *chef’s kiss*
photography in the bedroom: 13/10. they move on to the bedroom with the overhead shot, which is so effective. this shot placed above their heads actually detaches you from the scene because you are placed above them, like an omniscient overwatcher, so yes, you feel like you are intruding, being kind of like a peeping tom, but this shot sold the clip to me because it visually changed things up, but it actually reminded you that you’re just a watcher and that this is something between them, and you aren’t part of the scene. Yes, you feel like you’re intruding, but let me tell you if all the shots we had were ground shots or eye-level shots you would feel the intrusion feels even more.
okay! next! this shot:
this is very much shot with a wide angle lens and you can tell by the disproportion of robbe’s face (how big his forehead is compared to his chin). WA lenses are often used in films and photography to how the surroundings and the world around a certain character or thing. A fairly common shot is a character in the middle of a frame with all of his surroundings to make him/her/them feel small compared to the world around them. Basically, all i’m trying to say is, to me, this shot felt like they were using the WA lens to represent the world around them but it only showed robbe and his chain, or sander’s world in that moment, nothing else matters, it’s just him and robbe, alone, in a universe of their own, much like the outside sound or lack thereof in the lobby.
then when they’re kissing and they intertwine their fingers, the shot goes from having them kissing in focus and the hands out of focus in the foreground to having them out of focus in the background and their hands in focus. I feel like this is pretty self explanatory, but it really shows that they are together, on the same plane, as physical proof. Yes, the lighting and the angles were showing that before in the clip, but in that moment, that physical touch shows that they really are one and in sync.
and then that last overhead shot where it spirals and gets higher and higher plays on that intimacy again, it’s the reminder. Since the last ‘overhead’ (even though it wasn’t *technically* overhead but you get it) shot all that we got were very close, specific or WA shots that made you feel like you were part of the scene. You easily noticed and focused on the details, and that last shot starts like that, focusing on sander’s back and moving to robbe’s hand, bringing your focus from his back that took up most of the frame to robbe’s hand, a very specific element of the frame, until it starts to spiral away, moving higher. THIS REMOVES YOU FROM THE SCENE IN THE MOST PERFECT WAY. Essentially, the focus change from the back to the hand gathers your glances. It makes sure that wherever you were looking before you are now solely looking at robbe’s hand and then the shot moves backwards still focusing on the hand and withdraws you as a watcher from the scene, and basically wraps that scene in a perfect bow. It reminds you that you saw what they were doing, but in the end it really just is all about them and you were only witnessing it. And this is only strengthened by the last two seconds.
After the overhead shot is first moving backwards, it’s lowered again and you’re closer to their heads, and yes you’re still close to them, but not with the level of intimacy you had before because you’re now not part of the scene you’re just a witness floating over them. Fun Fact: it is also the exact same shot that we first get of them on the bed, just lifting up instead of coming down (see picture below) and it just finishes the clip beautifully imo. tl;dr the overhead shots are basically a way to remove you from the scene and imo they were very effective and beautifully done.
geometry in the bedroom: diagonally amazing. As humans, our eyes love geometry, and studies show that if there is some form of geometry in a photo, we’ll tend to like it and appreciate it more. It’s not the geometry from elementary school with squares and triangles, but stuff like the rule of the thirds and multiple lines that all lead to one specific point. What i noticed a lot in this clip particularly was the diagonal lines. First example: sander’s back in the last few shots of the clip: it goes from one corner of the frame and even though it does not reach the other corner of the frame, there is nothing that is particularly blocking it, meaning your eye elongates it and creates a coherent line, which is very appealing to the eye and very easy to follow. It is also part of what makes the shots so ~aesthetially pleasing~, but there are multiple examples of this throughout the clip (see picture below) like the movement of the focus from their faces to the intertwining of their hands, which brings me to my next point.
movement in the bedroom (it sounds so sexual omg i promise it’s not): smooth. One of filmmaking’s golden rule is to not move the camera unless it is absolutely necessary, which is why i was absolutely floored when it happened on three major occasions: 1) at 1:54 when robbe removes sander’s shirt the camera moves along with his hand, essentially keeping robbe’s watch in the centre 2) at 2:09 when the shot goes from sander’s boot up along his leg to robbe climbing sander like a tree and 3) at 3:08 when the focus moves from their faces to their hands holding (but i kind of already talked about that one).
Not going to lie, i have no particular analysis for 2 apart from the fact that it might have been used for contrast because of the black jeans and boots compared to the skin, but it looked so good that i am not mad it was included in the final cut. As for 1, to me, it symbolized their emotional stripping? like they are physically stripping but being in the movement of it meant something more and made it a symbol of how they are committing emotionally to one another after all this time, stripped of anything else, kind of like their first kiss. just them and their *in love noises* and nothing in the way.
All i’m saying is that this clip was so incredibly easy to watch because all of the geometry and movement does all the work for you, it makes your eyes move from one corner of the frame to the other with ease, and the lighting set the mood perfectly with such a warm colour.
and that’s all i have to say! thank you so much for reading up to here haha i am forever thankful🌻 i’m not studying media in any way shape or form i’m just very interested in it so all of this is purely from my amateur point of view but i really wanted to scribble all of my thoughts somewhere so here they are:)

Defining Aesthetics
In this blog post, we'll be discussing the two opposing theories on aesthetics and ultimately concluding with my own personal definition after examining the counterpoint theories.
The origins of the word 'aesthetic' can entirely be thanked by the Ancient Greeks. Aesthetic derives from the Greek word 'aisthesis' - to do with feelings and sensitivity, as well as 'aisthanestai' to feel with the senses. With this definition in play, the origins of aesthetics had little to no correlation with beauty. In modern-day times, if one were to glance at the sentence, 'to feel with the senses', you'd assume we were defining the word intuition. Linguistics is a complicated manner, and so too, like humans, definitions evolve and adapt over time to suit its surrounding environment.
At the very beginning, 1750 to be exact, upon arrival of Baumgarten's (one might say, infamous) book Aesthetica caused quite the uproar between philosophers and artists alike. Although this was not the first article to delve into aestheticism as a whole, The Pleasures of the Imagination (1712) by journalist Joseph Addison being one of the predecessors, Baumgarten is credited as a major source within the aesthetic movement. Although there are many branches upon branches of theories and ideologies, the main theory that academics, poets and philosophers alike tend to question is, "are aesthetics, beauty and pleasure inherently tied together?"
During the Mid Modern Period, or the less commonly referred to, Age of Revolution, was when Alexander Baumgarten published 'Aesthetica' - a book containing his thoughts and studies on beauty, something Baumgarten emphasized being tied to aesthetics - 'the inquiry in the science of sensuous knowledge or the meaning and value of our experiences of beauty and the arts' (Richter, Perspectives in Aesthetics, 5). Baumgarten being the very soul founder of coining the term aesthetics itself.
Aside from Baumgarten, the famous philosopher Immanuel Kant linked the pleasures from beauty to aestheticism but focused much less on fine art and artworks. Although Kant revolved his ideologies more so around 'natural' beauty, his theories still apply and he is one of the biggest founders for this particular movement.
"Beauty’s abiding meaning is associated with the order, but in the more modern readings the aesthetic interpretation of beauty is associated with delight and perception (Feagin and Maynard, 1997)."
Lavie and Tractinsky, 2003, Assessing Dimensions of Perceived Visual Aesthetics of Web Sites.
Branching down from the theory of aestheticism and beauty, Frank Sibley issued a set of articles discussing aesthetic concepts and how one requires higher perception and/or more sophisticated 'tastes', which in itself is why most conversations having to do with aesthetics and aestheticism discuss rulings and class - the bourgeois specifically.
“My argument that the ‘aesthetic,' at least in its original formulations, has little enough to do with art. It denotes instead a whole program of social, psychical and political reconstruction on the part of the early European bourgeoisie.”
Eagleton, 1989, The Rhetoric of Interpretation and the Interpretation of Rhetoric, 75 - 76.
On the other end of the aestheticism spectrum, philosophers and writers like Terry Eagleton, George Dickie and Anthony Savile all oppose the notion that aestheticism must be linked to beauty and pleasures. After analyzing the etymology of the word aesthetic, these few have grounded their beliefs in that the 'aesthetic experience' had become inherently based on classism and tastes, otherwise corrupting the original notion of aestheticism itself - Dickie even going as far as writing an entire book entitled 'The Myth of the Aesthetic Attitude’ (1964).
The reason why aestheticism is such a fiercely debated topic throughout history is because of how intricate and in-depth one needs to go to justify re-defining aesthetics. So if aestheticism is based on beauty, but my definition of beauty is different to yours, how do I know if something IS truly beautiful? What makes person A's tastes more perceptive and higher quality than person B's? Their social status and wealth? And the very argument that beauty is something that only brings pleasure and happiness is easily arguable by any person that has even a smidgen of emotional capacity.
Allowing aestheticism to be soiled by classism and general snobbishness is quite frankly highly against my values. After reading further into several theories and philosophical articles, I've found myself leaning more towards not allowing aestheticism to be soiled by hierarchy, so to speak. One might consider that an almost purist outlook on the concept, but redefining aestheticism with unneeded rules and regulations takes away from the experience.
I don't only look at art,
I feel it too.
I allow my senses to guide me through my aesthetic experience!

1, 3 (i NEED to know this one in details), 17, 18, 19, 38, 44, 49! I know that's a lot but I'm feeling extra curious today
No worries, I will answer all! Thank you for asking!
1: what does my lighter look like?
I don’t have a lighter! Nobody smokes in family, and if we need fire we use matches. If i had to pick one tho, I saw a very cute pastel orange one with a soft cover!
3: pasta, in detail
Do I like pasta? Yes, I absolutely do! Even if I prefer rice, but anyway. My favourite pasta-based dish is homemade lasagne, which is a bit like cheating, but you get the gist. Then I also like a lot long pasta like spaghetti and tagliatelle, because we make them at home! As for toppings, we have an excellent recipe for pulled ribs, or sausage ragù. If we have to go on vegetarian sauces, my favourite is one we made from scratch, with homemade tomato sauce, parmigiano and fresh basil, and it tastes like summer, I can't say it better. My favourite short pasta however, fusi with game. Full stop. Picking apart all the tiny bones is a pain though. I hope I answered enough!
17: an earliest obsession
I think it could have been high fantasy! I still like it, sure, but when I was around 12, if not even earlier, it's safe to say that I was fixated on it. Elves, dwarves, dragons... that was my jam. All of my scenarios were based on that, no exception. I devoured all four Eragon books in a couple months. And I reread them over and over! No, even before 12, because I remember reading the Geronimo Stilton's Kingdom of Fantasy books and being able to read the secret code without deciphering it. That was the point of the obsession. I am glad part of it stuck with me till today.
18: do I play videogames?
Well, not really! Not much, I am sorry. I mostly watched walkthroughs for the ones that seemed to have the most interesting plots, because my parents weren’t really fond of gaming. A game series I do play it's Rusty Lake! The Cube Escape ones are free, if you want to give them a try. As morbid and complex and surreal as they are, I love them.
19: zombies or vampires?
Easy peasy, vampires! The aestheti, the concept, the possibilities... It's fun as hell to play with, because vampires may not be humans, but can be people. I don't think you can do the same with zombies. I have to admit that I really like the concept of the blooming dead though.
38: what does my url mean?
Oh, uhm, this... this is actually quite funny. I have already said I had a lot of high fantasy scenarios, right? Well, the OC that should have been representing me stuck with me. And they were a ranger. Expert on survival and hunting, as well as preserving and studying. Always up on research. Codename: dreamcatcher, because of their huge cape was full of trinkets and knick-knacks dangling from it. Like a dreamcatcher. So, uh, yeah.
44: collections?
I hope to start one! More than a specific object, I aim to make it look like one of those naturalistic museums in the '800. I am starting slowly, rocks, a butterfly waiting to be encased and dragonfly wings.
49: scents I like
Old books, pine forests, snow, warm bread, coffee, cold air at the edge of a mountain precipice, the homemade dough for buttery cookies, the vaguely damp smell you can find in caves, powdered magnesium, a bonfire, vegetable stew, sage, thunderstorm and freshly cut timber!
