Only two exams left for the master degree. The oral exam is in two days and I lost all motivation. I still have to keep pushing. To comprehend my weakest topic (statistics of mixing processes) better I decided to write a little summary without looking at the lecture slides.

hi everyone!

gelique here, a sorta new studyblr. i said sorta ‘cause i’ve been lurking around this lovely community for years now but every attempt to create a studyblr always turn out to be a disaster. anyway, i am hoping this one would turn out pretty well, as i really need something to look forward to on my last year in the university (hopefully). 

why theinhinyera?

inhinyera is basically a term in my native language (which is filipino btw) for a female engineer, and since i am an aspiring civil engineer, i thought, “why not?” + i think it is very unique.

about theinhinyera

i am currently on my 5th year as a civil engineering major at the university of the philippines - diliman. crossing my fingers that i’ll graduate this coming june 2019 and see the sunflowers bloom. 

why did i start this studyblr?

like what i said earlier, i needed a major motivational boost for this year as i will be taking up most of my majors + thesis (which i do hope will turn out for the good hahaha). and since i also notice how helpful this community is in terms of motivating each other, i decided to join as well.

I struggled a lot with mental health issues in regard of university and exams but I'm having such good days lately, being outside, spending time with my family... I'm really happy rn even tho my first exam is in about two weeks

Congrats on the milestone first of all ! Today I wanted to go to the library early in the morning but I overslept and when I was there I couldn't concentrate and left. I feel pretty bad about that but life goes on I guess ? Tomorrow I will try again :) how was your day ?( I guess my original content is easy to find )

hello! thank you so much :) maybe you needed the extra sleep, and it is ok to take a break sometimes! I hope you were able to get to the library the next day! my day has been good, I slept in and did a little bit of studying and a little workout in the afternoon.

yup, all schools are closed until april 26th, but i graduate school two days before so basically i already have holidays

i’m at my parents’ house but they both work so i’m alone for half a day

to be honest, i’m having the best time of my life. i can finally focus on my life and mental & physical health

working out, eating intuitively, keeping a gratitude journal, reading, taking care of my hair/nails/skin. i believe many activities can be a form of self care, even keeping a clean bedroom or getting enough sleep

Lotus: Talk about a struggle you overcame (or are currently overcoming). How did it affect you?

hm okay im not rly one to share quite personal things very publicly, but i guess one thing that comes to mind is something i actually wrote some college essays on which is in 10th grade when something happened that caused me to change like my whole life thoughts i guess. i am someone who likes to have everything very planned out and so i had the same idea for my future since like 4th grade which was that i wanted to be a lawyer and then in 10th grade i was deciding between a summer law program and a summer coding program and idk i went through a lot of indecisiveness and seeking out advice and eventually decided upon the coding program which like that may not seem like a big deal but to me at the time it really was. i guess that whole thing opened me up more to change, that things to have to always go as planned and its okay to decide you want something different, even if it means straying away from something you have thought of so concretely for so long idk if that makes sense but yeah….

Rose: Do you find it easy to open up?

lol as mentioned in the previous answer not at all… there are like maybe 4 people who i tell stuff to and even then my preferred method of dealing with things is to bottle it up. i used to have a multifandom tumblr where no one from real life followed me and i did find it a bit easier to open up there but that was a long time ago
