(Steven Universe OCs) Chibi Beryls who I haven’t drawn in a long time. First pic is technically a redraw from 2019 (link to old one). I meant to draw four other Beryls with it but never got around to it until now.

Before the canon Aquamarine, I made Beryls and they were princesses to Diamonds (given that beryls are highly sought after and expensive). After canon introduction, these Beryls are gem quality beryls versus common beryls (gem quality irl are clear basically rather than foggy). Below the cut is their names and a bit about them:

Heliodor (Yellow Diamond): generally appearing to be soft spoken and cheery, her words seem to have a bite to them. She enjoys the luxuries of being a princess type.

Morganite (Pink Diamond): part of Pink Diamond's entourage, she ended up helping with the rebellion and lied about Rose Quartz shattering to the other Diamonds

Goshenite (White Diamond): cold-seeming and calculative, she prefers analytic over ideals

Aquamarine (formerly Blue Diamond before defecting): naive, and ran away constantly to the point where people hardly looked for her anymore as they figured she'd return. Eventually didn't, and joined up with Celestite before becoming corrupted during the Gem Earth War.

Emerald (formerly Green Diamond before Green was taken down): a rebel leader that has been plotting to take down the Diamond authority ever since they got rid of her Diamond. Her girlfriend is Jade

Chrysoberyl (Orange Diamond): while technically not a true Beryl, she was given to Orange Diamond who is known for being the useless Diamond and given throwaways. Chrysoberyl actually runs the place as she can do what she pleases while Orange remains bratty.

Maxixe and Aquamarine 2 (Twins to replace first Aquamarine under Blue Diamond): the twins emerged with each other, it was to help with the loss of the other Aquamarine Blue Diamond lost. The two are nasty to others and enjoy a life of luxury.

Alexandrite (formerly Purple Diamond before she was also taken down): unstable much like her Diamond, Alexandrite can switch between a purple state and a blue state. Blue is often melancholic while purple is excitable.

Bixbite/Red Beryl (formerly Red Diamond, before she was also taken down): Bixbite is a punk-ish rock n roll type, much like the rest of Red Diamond's court. She enjoys music that'll pump her up.

I've been getting a lot of asks with ideas for who are what gems, faster than I can actually doodle them

So I'm just gonna make this master post with characters and gems that I like

I'll take the characters off the list of I get the chance to doodle them, but I must ask if someone's on the list that no one send me a proposal for that character

Zoro- emerald

Sanji- honey quartz (secretly a diamond)

Brook- phantom quartz

Lucci- Heliodor (cat eye cut)

Crocodile- desert rose

Buggy- ruby (nose is his gem)

Ace and Luffy fusion- orange tourmaline

Asl fusion- Poudretteite

Vinsmokes sibs are also diamonds. But like, small ones... Like pink diamond size

Emperors don't have to be diamonds, but I'm thinking the gorosei and a few admirals are... Idk, I think in my gem universe there are a shit load of diamonds. But like,,, they're just not as big as white diamond is in SU

I think being a diamond would give you many powers and incredible durability, but the *size* of your diamond would determine status. So size does matter

Thank you for all your suggestions! I literally got a boat-load of them and I had to turn off asks so that I had time to doodle them at some point.

            AMIERE LASTERAN, 36 years old, merchant of light, biological father of his children. Yellow mane and skin with spots, yellow spark on tail. Wynnle-Nilian.

            SU SCRIMSHANDER, 38 years old, merchant of bone, a Godblood of unknown element and sex (uses he/him pronouns). He has no biological children. Brown hair, brown skin, four arms, can transform his legs into a fish tail of any color or shape. Species unknown.

            LIESLE DENWALL, 37 years old, merchants of faces, biological mother of her children. Blue mane, purple skin with stripes, blue wings, blue spark on tail. Wynnle-Winyan

Chibi Beryls (1) 

There should be a second one but I don’t have designs for all the Beryls yet (I have designs for Maxixe, Aquamarine 2, but missing Alexandrite, Bixbite, and a beryl type for Black Diamond). The princesses that are different from now canon Beryl types as 1. They have similar roles to each other rather than across the board despite quartz types having the same thing??? (Canon Bixbite should’ve been Coral don’t @ me) 2. Their gems are considered high grade compared to lower ones that are canon. 

Heliodor (Yellow Diamond) sunny calmer disposition. Seems overly attached to Chrysoberyl. 

Morganite (Pink Diamond) She might look and act like a b*tch, but she actually cares a whole lot. Was close to PD and knew and helped with the Rose Quartz rebellion thing from Homeworld. Seems rather lost lately.

Goshenite (White Diamond) Studious and prefers to analyze. She’s not under WD’s control she’s just like that.

Aquamarine (Blue Diamond, formerly) Naive and childlike. While Pink Diamond threw tantrums, Aquamarine was more of the runaway type. Everyone expected her to return until one time she didn’t. Was with Celestite before becoming corrupted in the Gem War. Obviously healed now.

Emerald (Green Diamond, formerly) Antidisestablishment ever since the other Diamonds took down her Diamond. She’s a rebel leader and her gf is Jade.

Chrysoberyl (Orange Diamond) Actually not a Beryl. Thought to be a reworked Spinel type to fill in the role for Orange Diamond’s mishmash court. Actually runs the court while Orange throws tantrums.

Tails in my Gem/SU AU

Nickname/s: Helio, Heelie, Helio-copter Gem Type: Beryl  Gem location: Forehead Weapon: None; creates his own devices and relies on his powers and intellect instead of being able to summon a weapon. Rarity and Status: Uncommon and Middle Working Class Gem (Defective) Role on Homeworld: Aircraft Technician Unique Abilities: Ferrokinesis- Able to manipulate all kinds of metals, this was useful for his role in building and functioning aircrafts. Nowadays uses for tinkering and building his own devices and as his primary use for defence. Prehensile Tails- His defect left him with two extremely prehensile tails, them being able to function as a second pair of arms so-to-speak. Being able to shape-shift them very well and for a much longer duration, he can even spin them at a high speed in order to achieve flight, something unique even among his own gem type. 

History:

Much like many Heliodor gems before him, Heliodor was made to be apart of a fleet, serving as a pilot and technician for the aircrafts. But from the moment he emerged from his kindergarden, he was already deemed different from the rest. A common characteristic of heliodors was that they had two sets of arms to aid in their duties, Heliodor lacked the second set. Instead of having a set of two tails.  He was deemed a defect and was to be shattered immediately... if it wasn’t for his fleet commander, Benitoite, preventing him from being killed and showing he could work just as efficiently as the other gems despite his ‘defect’. Of course, Heliodor didn’t quite understand why Benitoite protected him, but he appreciated it nonetheless, becoming the first mate to his commander and working closely with him.  Oddly enough, his commander would often try to converse with him, which was deemed unusual among their society. At first, he tried to keep a professional manner and not talk much unless it was to do with his orders... but he noticed how much this saddened his commander. Eventually, he started to converse in small doses, and seeing how happy it made Benitoite, he continued. Becoming more comfortable talking with his commander and befriending the blue gem over time. It felt good to feel accepted by someone, as even his own team rejected him due to his defect. 

When the crash happened, Heliodor knew his friend and commander would be blamed and punished for this even if it wasn’t his fault... Impulsively, he announced the crash was his fault. Even though this wasn’t quite the truth, he stuck with it. When told he would be shattered for this, fear overcame his very being... until he felt himself be grabbed by Benitoite, him dragging Helidor along as he ran quickly. He didn’t understand, why did Benitoite do that? Why did he throw away his status, his duty, everything, for him?! He was just worker gem, he wasn’t worth that much, why save him? Benitoite made it clear to him he cared and meant a lot to him, and stated that he was not going to let his friend get shattered. That he was worth more than homeworld made him believe. 

After escaping the planet with his friend, being free of homeworld allowed him to believe in himself and his abilities better than before, exploring his intelligence, creativity and skills more and more. He happily he's his team, aiding his friends with his skills and technological creations.

This YD AU will not replace the other YD AU (with Ilay, Garnet, Pearl, Carnelian ...), it is just a YD AU 2.0 that will have less prominence than the 1.0
