I know therez a MAJOR problem of scenecore kidz tagging their posts as scene and itz really REALLY annoying DX but I also think if we want 2 stop it, we need it 2 go both ways. if we want ppl 2 stop affiliating scenecore with scene, we need 2 stop affiliating scene with scenecore. I know scenecore has a huge amount of issues :/ but the main problem is ppl not being able 2 tell it apart frum scene, despite pretty much the only similarity being bright colourz and kandi. I need 2 b able 2 look up scene without seeing scenecore, and ppl need 2 b able 2 look up scenecore without seeing scene. the moar scene kidz start using the word "scenecore" in their tagz, the moar scenecore kidz r going 2 incorrectly call themselves scene bcuz they think they r synonymous. the subculturez r so immensely different, and I can never understand ppl who think scenecore is a revival of scene or think itz the same as scene... that just feelz liek saying emo is the same as goth bcuz "dark colours".

the problem with ppl not telling them apart is that scenecore is still very new and still developing, so new things r added 2 the subculture every day, but if ppl think itz the same as scene, they think all these new things r part of scene as well, which is a problem bcuz itz essentially rewriting the history of an already very developed subculture.

i keep seeing ppl on tiktok saying "dont make the scene subculture look bad/toxic:((" like ill hold ur hand when i say thiz sweetie... it kinda IZ known for how toxic it waz and how it normalized anorexia, sh, grooming and harassment... ofc the subculture itself isnt bad like im scene and not shitty like how those scene kidz were just how the subculturez known for esp with ppl like dahvie vanity and mr myspace being like sum the most known scene ppl (ToT)

I noticed something - We r starting 2 define old subculturez by what waz nostalgic abt them , and PURELY on that . Nostalgiaz good , holding on2 nyan cat and epic face iz good cuz they r cool ! Holding on2 MCR and emo chibiz iz good , cool on u ! But it getz problematic when we STOP accepting new wayz and start gatekeeping ppl who just want a place 2 fit in . If ur a sad depressed emo kid ? Even just edgy ? Cool ! U dont have 2 have tha same over-eye bang haircut & pale skin & black eyeshadow & everything . U dont have 2 b tha quiet kid in class or have a sketchbook full ov sad sketchy doodlez ! U can listen 2 that newer muzic ! Ur an emo kid & thatz in u . Same goez 4 scene , punk , etc .

Btw 'scenecore' IZNT a 'whole different thing' itz just tha aesthetic ov tha subculture thankz 4 listening<3 Much luv , a scenie ov 5-6 yearz
