Today is HAROLD RAMIS DAY. This is for absolute real. Groundhog Day in Chicago is now dedicated to the man, the legend, the Grand Dude himself. This…is…AWESOME.
i never was able to play the first game before the bucket kick but i dont think youd need to play it to understand how much of an amazing and life changing community it managed to so quickly cultivate and continues to foster nearly 10 years later. this franchise has shaped me so much since i first became a fan in 2017 and began playing in 2019 i honestly dont know who i would be today without it.
Fit: Good times on the QSMP, you love to see it, you love to see it.
Thank you to all the QSMP streamers, admins, and the community for an eventful year, and an especially big thank you to Fit + Pac! Here's my small tribute as thanks to them for all the laughs, lore, and, of course, "The Concept of Love!"
kind of expected that the ability breakdown wouldnt get that much traction (especially on twitter bc if it doesnt do well in the first few hours it might as well be dead) but what i didnt need to wake up to was looking at my twitter notifications and thinking there was a long comment on it at first but then i read it and it turned out to be some guy having dug up one of my old totk tweets where i talked about how zelda was treated-
and if a quote retweet with a thread attached already starts with "this entitled brat didnt understand that zelda was being a history nerd by being in the past and getting to experience it herself" with two screenshots attached of the end of totk with zelda staring at the cam all uwu (which has ??? to do with their point??) i dont even want to know what else was in that thread
if thats how the majority of the fandom is then im even less surprised that nintendy doesnt even have to try to write anything good :I
ah yes, i am a game nerd, and by putting me in a game where i stand around doing puppy dog eyes while being shoved around by NPCs is me being a game nerd OBVIOSULY
Two proud, fierce, spiky-haired warriors face each other across a rocky chasm… but why do they both feel so strangely familiar to the other?! A battle for honour is surely about to begin!
Through Dragonball, Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest, Akira Toriyama had a massive influence on my childhood. I think it’s also pretty fair to say that Pokemon, and especially Lance, would not be the same without his stylistic influence on Ken Sugimori’s early work. So, for all the thrills and inspiration, both to myself and many others, thank you so much Toriyama-san, and rest in peace.
I had so much fun designing a Toriyama-style DBZ design for Lance, putting in a bit of flavour from both his Gen 1 red biker and Gen 2 pointed armour looks. The dramatic cape flourish also pulls a bit from his HGSS art pose, just for fun (and flair)
I learnt a lot picking apart and studying different Dragonball panels and colour spreads to make this crossover tribute, but perhaps the most striking thing was re-reading chunks of DBZ and realising just how good at weekly pulp adventure story pacing Toriyama was.
I already knew he had perhaps the best grasp of dynamic, crystal clear action panelling in the business, but his ability to pace out a weekly story and always have some new twist or wrinkle while maintaining a solid, driving central narrative really stood out to me this time. And that’s not even mentioning all the ad-libbing!
One of the greatest to ever do it in so very many different ways - I am sure his work will continue to inspire not just artists in our current generation, but many young artists in the future as well.

im ngl one of my favorite parts abt chapell roan getting big is seeing all of the creators that chappell represents at her shows. not just her drag queen openers but I love seeing the nail artists, the fashion designers, the makeup artists, the artists who make props etc. like her team really finds all these creators and commissions them for all of these artworks and I'm just obsessed
