the lost sully
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: there was one rule…
pairings: sully family x sibling!reader
warnings: angst no comfort
word count: 1.3k
a/n: i'm taking a hiatus. Idk for how long but i will not be posting or responding to anyone or anything unless we are mutuals and i’ve told you what happened. Please don't pry all i will say is someone very close to me died today. this will be the last thing i post for a while so sorry if its halfassed.
Tumblr media
"now they'll never find me," you said as you laughed, feeling the rush of the wind blowing on your face. you had broken the only rule you and your siblings had when playing hide and seek.
no ikrans
you figured it wouldn't be a problem because you knew the forests like the back of your hand and weren't going far anyway. you spotted a clearing near high camp where neteyam was counting, giving you guys 20 seconds to hide around the nearby area. you, on the other hand, were feeling daring today. you hadn't won a hide-and-seek game in years, and your siblings continuously rubbed it in your face.
of course, as you guys grew up, you had less and less time to play games, but recently, with you finally completing your rites, you were able to hang out with your siblings more. you would find yourself tagging along with lo'ak, kiri, and neteyam when they went to hang out with other na'vi your age.
thinking about your siblings made you laugh as you finally settled into your hiding spot. you were hiding inside a log in the clearing you had found earlier, waiting for your eldest brother to find you. you placed your palms flat on each other, facing the ground, and rested your face on your hands, allowing them to act as a pillow as you drifted off to sleep, knowing you would be the last one found. a little victory nap wouldn't hurt.
you would rest here amongst the flora and fauna of your home. a little fan lizard scampered into the log, snuggling up to you, seemingly joining your nap. then you felt another running up the back of your leg, coming up to cuddle into the small of your back. you giggled as a few more gathered around you, packing into your little hiding spot. you loved moments like this. moments that you could share with the fauna that eywa has blessed your home with.
much like kiri, you were very in touch with the great mother, but while kiri leaned more toward the flora, you were more in tune with the animals of pandora. always being able to steer away an angry mama palulukan rather than having to fight. you sighed as you felt sleep consume you. who knew sleeping in a log would be so comfortable? was the last thought to cross your mind before you allowed your dreams to consume you.
Tumblr media
waking at the sound of an ikrans screech was startling, to say the least. unfortunately, you forgot where you fell asleep, so when you jumped up, you hit your head pretty hard against the top of the log.
"OW- ow. oh my god, ow…." you whimpered out, being in so much pain that the only thing you could do was just sit there and process what the actual fuck was happening. so much was happening so fast that you didn't have a moment to collect yourself. your blood was rushing thanks to your little alarm clock, so you slipped your body halfway out the log, looking up at your ikran, txep, with a glare. he returned your look with a mischievous glare of his own.
"oh, you think it's funny." you sneered at your companion. he screeched in response as if he was antagonizing you.
"well, i'm glad you do because now we're both gonna have a headache while flying back, you skxawng." you groaned as you pulled the rest of your body out the log, wincing as you stretched. you brought your hand to the back of your head, which was now a dull pain. you decided to sit down for a second to give yourself a minute to gather.
and then everything came back to you, the hide and seek game, your ikran ride, your "victory nap"...
you looked to the sky, wincing as you noticed it's been eclipse for a while now.
mom and dad are gonna kill me…
you were honestly scared. you were never one to get into huge trouble like your brother lo'ak, but you knew that you would definitely be getting into huge trouble when you got home. you sighed as you stood and looked over at your ikran, still coddling the back of your head.
"come on. let's go home," you said as you made tsaheylu and mounted your saddle. txep made soft noises of uncomfortability as he now felt the effects of your pain through the bond.
"sorry, buddy, but you can only blame yourself here." you managed a laugh in times of grave fear. taking off in the direction of home, you knew you were only 5 minutes away from the scolding of a lifetime. at least, you thought you were until 5 minutes turned into 20. then suddenly, 20 minutes became 40, and 40 minutes became an hour. you felt like you were flying in circles. you couldn't find high camp, your headache worsened, and your vision blurred. txep could barely fly straight.
you decided it would be best to land somewhere to avoid getting hurt while flying around with an injury like this. the time between when you were in the air and landed on the ground was a blur. but as soon as your feet touched the ground, you passed out. the exhaustion and pain was too much.
Tumblr media
as you awoke again, you heard strange sounds disrupting your sleep. you groaned, assuming it was your brothers messing with you, but once you opened your eyes, you saw a roof above your head. but the architecture isn't that of the omatikaya, and the air smelled of salt water and sea life. you shielded your eyes as you were met with the sun gazing through a… window?
"oh, thank eywa, you are awake. my mother began worrying when you had not woken up after a week."
A WEEK?!?!
she noticed the panicked look on your face and quickly settled beside you, rubbing your shoulders as a comfort method.
"do not worry. you are safe. your ikran is safe. you had a head injury and were passed out on an island just outside the reefs. i am going to ask you some questions. is that okay?" the girl asked. she had teal skin, and her arm, legs, and tail were thicker than your own.
"what is your name?" she spoke softly like she didn't want to scare you.
"y/n," you replied, barely above a whisper. you didn't even feel your mouth move.
"hi, y/n. my name is tsireya. how old are you?"
"i'm 13. i just got my ikran… i just completed my rites… i–" your voice was shaking.
"hey, y/n, it is okay. i just have one more question for you," she said as she continued to comfort you. you sighed, not wanting to speak anymore as your reality came crashing down on you.
you don't know where you are.
you had broken the only hide-and-seek rule you guys had, and now you're lost. stranded on the islands of pandora, not knowing how to get home
"do you know where you are?" you didn't respond as you felt your tears escape the corners of your eyes. whimpers and sobs creep out of your throat as you shake your head in response to her question. she sighed, her ears pinned to her head as she could only feel sad for you.
she decided to lay down, holding you in her embrace until she felt your breathing even out. she wigged herself out of the cot you were lying on as she left the pod. tsireya assumed that you had fallen asleep, but she was wrong. the second she left, your tears returned tenfold, but you managed to hold in your sobs. your thoughts were loud in your mind, but one sentence silenced them all.
one sentence that had intensified your cries, now having to use the cushion under your head to muffle your cries.
now they'll never find me.

Hearing the unheard
Sully family x deaf!omaticaya!reader part 2
Part 1: silent world loud mind
After Quatrich kidnapped his kids Jake decides that it’s no longer safe for his family to stay with the Omaticaya clan, of course they couldn’t leave you behind
Tumblr media
Right now you and the sullies had arrived at the Metkayina tribe and thankfully they had granted your group uturu, the Tsahik, Ronal, and her son, Ao’nung were weary of you guys but her mate, Tonowari, and her daughter, Tsireya, were kinder.
Tsireya was showing you around the village she was talking and explaining where everything was. The only problem with that was that was that you couldn’t see her face do you couldn’t understand a thing she was saying. You tapped Neteyams shoulder quietly asking him to explain what Tsireya was saying.
“I’ll tell you later” Neteyam mouthed not wanting to be rude and talk while Tsireya was talking, you nod as you all walk into the marui
“This is good. This is great” Jake said looking at the family as Tsireya leaves
“I need you to behave in an exemplary manner. I mean it” Jake says in a harsher tone looking specifically at Lo’ak
“Learn quickly, take your turn, and don’t cause trouble. Got it?” He continues
“I wanna go home” says Tuk about to cry. You pick her up noticing her distress “oh Tuk…” you whisper holding her close in an attempt to comfort her
“This is our home now Tuk” Jake says
“Besides what does your father always say” Neytiri says attempting to cheer her kids up
“Sully’s stick together…” the four siblings mumble
“Now with more enthusiasm, you too Y/N”
“Sully’s stick together” you all say Kiri rolling her eyes a little
Jake and Neytiri go to unpack everything as the kids hear Tsireya calling out to you guys
“Come swim with us” she says smiling
Lo’ak and Neteyam jump into the water happily Tuk following her older brothers as Kiri grabs your arm “come on let’s go in the water” the two of you jump into the water. The underwater reef is beautiful, underwater trees covering a lot of it as fish swim around you. The scenery makes you smiles as you swim around seeing all the different colored marine life and plants. You could see Neteyam and Lo’ak ahead of you smiling you swim around the two surprising them. You can see Tsireya signing something underwater but your out of air and can’t understand her anyways so you move up and out of the water
“What is wrong with them?” Roxto says
“Yeah their terrible divers” Ao’nung laughs
“Stop they just have to learn” says Tsireya in harsh tone
“You swim too fast” complains Tuk to the older kids
“Yeah your probably better at swimming through trees” Ao’nung mocks you all making Tsireya reprimand him again
“Your little finger thing, we don’t understand it” Neteyam says as rolls his eyes at Ao’nungs comment
“I will teach you” Tsireya says calmly
“Where is Kiri?” Roxto says looking around for the girl “Y/N where is Kiri” you where floating on your back not being able to hear a thing they were saying. The Metkayina boy called your name again before realizing that you couldn’t hear and that you weren’t ignoring him. Neteyam tapped your shoulder to grab your attention “I’m sorry what were you saying?” Roxto looked straight at you and asked where Kiri was again.
“Oh she’s still underwater, I think she’s looking at some fish” you respond politely
After a few more minutes you all split up, you and the sully kids going to back to the marui for the night and the others doing their own things
The next day~
It was just after breakfast when Tsireya entered the sully’s Marui saying that it was time for lessons. The kids follow her out saying bye to Jake and Neytiri.
Once you all got to the beach you could see Ao’nung in the water with some sort of creatures
“These are ilu. If you want to live here you have to ride” Ao’nung says with a cocky smile. Tsireya brings one of the ilu’s up to Lo’aks side
“Make the bond. Feel his breath, his strength” Tsireya says slowing backing away “remember to hold on tight” and with that the ilu dives into the water quickly Lo’ak barely holding on. Neteyam soon follows he was able to stay on better than Lo’ak, father way you could see Kiri on her own ilu staying on its back with ease. After the incident you weren’t allowed to ride your Ikran due to the fact that if there was an emergency it would be almost impossible to get your attention
“I’m sorry guys but I can’t ride” your voice was sad, Tuk hugs your side in an attempt of comfort
“Awe she’s scared, what do you think your gonna fall off” Ao’nung says laughing with Roxto. You let out a small hiss under your breath
“No it’s because if we were ever in a dangerous situation she wouldn’t be able to hear someone getting trying to get her attention, idiot” Lo’ak said in your defense. Ao’nung hisses a little at the name calling
“Its ok Lo’ak, I’m gonna go swim over there and try to find Kiri” you say swimming away into the reef
Inside the reef you swim seeing the fish and Kiri is down near the sand playing with the fish, an ilu swims up playfully. Kiri smiles and pets it before making the bond with it and was about to swim off when she spotted you, making the ilu swim to you she grabs you and pulls you on the ilu with her. You hold on to her tightly not wanting to fall off as the two of you zip through the water quickly
You two resurface near the others laughing. God how you missed riding and you though, if I can’t ride alone anymore it’s nice that I can still ride with someone. The Metkayina kids released you and the sully kids from lesson to get lunch saying that they would continue later near sunset.
Soon sunset came around and the 7 out of the 8 of you gather around on a rock to practice your breathing. Tuk unfortunately couldn’t be there due to the fact that it was almost dark.
“Imagine a flickering flame” says Tsireya in a calming voice
“You must slow down your heartbeat” she says and then touches Lo’aks stomach and chest
“Breath in” Tsireya speaks as Lo’ak takes a deep breath and goes to exhale
“Breath from down here. Breath slowly” she says as she touches his abdomen
Tsireya says that Lo’aks heartbeat is fast, apologizing Lo’ak takes another breath as she tells him to focus. You, Neteyam and Roxto exchange knowing looks chuckling slightly as Kiri rolls her eyes annoyed by the childish behavior
After a few minutes you and Kiri can complete the breathing exercise almost perfectly as your able to slow down your heartbeat. Neteyam is good for the most part, it’s Lo’ak who truly struggles with slowing down his heartbeat and breathing so he stays behind with Tsireya to work on that as the rest of you go home. Once you, Kiri and Neteyam are back at the marui they go to get dinner
“I’m gonna go for a swim” you say heading the opposite way from the two
“That’s not a good idea Y/N what if we need to get your attention” Neteyam says being protective as usual
“It’ll be fine Nete, I’ll stay close to the marui” you say pleading with him. Neteyam shakes his head and rolls his eyes before finally giving you the ok, you smile and jump into the water close to the marui. If anything weee to happen either Neteyam or Kiri could just jump down and find you.
You had been absolutely loving the time you we’re spending underwater it was calming and beautiful. A school of glowing fish passed in front of you swimming closely as they circled around you, smiling you stick your hand out as they scatter when an ilu swims up happily chittering before swimming away. You sat underwater staring at the plants around you when you heard something, like a pulse, strong and steady. You looked around curiously before feeling the pulse again like it was under you. And just as quickly as it was there it was gone back to the silence you had grown accustomed to within the past few months

Plationic Yandere-ish (Protective) Sully Family X Human Child Reader
~A/N: I haven't even watched the new Avatar movie, but I AM OBSESSED!!! It's mildly yandere, but I'm still including that just in case. Reader is mostly gender neutral, but implied female. Very few details talk about features other than you being tiny!
~Masterlist
Part 1 , Part 2
CW: Protective Sully Family, mild kidnapping, obsessive behavior, protective behavior
Tumblr media
~
-You came to Pandora with your Aunt when you were five. Very interested to see and explore a new place.
-You mostly interacted with Norm and Max because none of the other scientists tolerated your questions while they were working. But Norm and Max were very happy that you were so interested in the world they fell in love with.
-You hated wearing the mask and asked around for how you could not wear it anymore. They didn’t want to do it, but you insisted they help you with it. They did some experiments and eventually found a way to change your lungs enough to be able to breathe the air on Pandora. It was a slightly painful process, but you were just happy to get rid of the annoying mask.
(Don’t ask details, I just don’t wanna write in the oxygen mask)
-Of course because you were so close with those two, you had met Jake at some point.
-He loved being around you. You were such a cute and curious kid. Plus, you were younger than all of his kids were.
-He made an effort to introduce you to Neytiri. She was wary of you at first, but quickly warmed up to you. She saw that you were just a kid. So curious about the world around you, and saw how in love with Pandora you were.
Neytiri was taking you out of the lab for a walk through the forest, to keep you entertained. She was holding you in her arms like a baby while watching how amazed you were with the beauty of the nature around you.
“Hey, Tiri? What’s that?” You were asking while looking at a rustling bush.
Neytiri looked over and just sighed while looking at her children trying and failing to hide behind a bush and spy on her. “Nothing, baby. Those are just my children. Who should be at home!” She said very loudly to let them know that they were caught.
With that said, they all came towards them from behind the bush.
-Once they all came out, you were looking at all of them with wide eyes. You gripped Neytiri’s top from the nerves you had meeting so many new people at once.
-Neytiri noticed your nerves and cradled you a bit closer to her, but didn’t stop her kids from coming closer. She just slightly smiled at them while subtly moving you to face them better.
-She nudged you to talk to them when they got to be right in front of you. You quietly told them your name once you gained a bit of courage. They all smiled at how cute you were.
-One by one they all introduced themselves to you, also talking a bit quieter to not startle you more. By the end you weren’t as tense and were smiling a bit. Though you were surprised that the youngest was so big while only being three years older than you.
-They saw how you were probably more willing to talk, so Kiri asked you how old you were. They each were surprised that you were five, being so tiny.
-They asked if you wanted to come hang out with them for the day. And you said yes!
Neytiri wasn’t happy that they were cutting her time with you so short, but couldn’t deny them the joy of being with you. She did want to talk with Jake about having you stay with them though. She really wanted you to be part of their family now that all of her children had met you and clearly liked you.
So, with a sigh, she handed you over to Neteyam and walked off to find her husband.
Neteyam was so happy he got chosen to hold you. You felt like nothing in his arms, smaller than the newborns he had seen. He just smiled down at you while cradling you. The group of siblings just walked to their favorite part of the stream and started splashing around together.
You saw this and started squirming to get down so you could play too. Neteyam didn’t want to, but set you down anyway. You immediately ran, more like quickly waddled, to the stream and went into the water. It was only to their calves, but it went up to your hips. They started splashing you as well, which made you giggle and splash them back.
-They had been playing for almost an hour before you started getting tired. You were yawning while wading through the water and tripped on a rock on the bottom. You fell forward and got completely submerged in the cool water. You also scraped your forehead on a rock. You immediately stood back up and started rubbing your head.
-All of the siblings ran to you and were looking you over for injuries. When they saw the scrape on your forehead, Kiri immediately snatched you up and started sprinting back to their home, with the rest of the group following you two.
-She burst into their home and immediately got to work cleaning and bandaging the scrape. Jake and Neytiri heard the commotion and ran in to check on what was happening. They gasped when they saw what was wrong.
-The went to you and frantically checked if you were okay. You told them what happened and assured them you were fine. Right after you stopped talking, you let out a huge yawn. Everyone internally cooed at the sight.
Jake had then picked you up and laid down with you on his chest. “I think you need a nap baby.” He had whispered once you settled down. You just groaned, but snuggled further into him anyway. He motioned his wife to grab a blanket for him to put over you. She went and got one of the human blankets that you liked, that she had stored in an out of the way place in their home. Once she had it, she walked over to Jake and covered you with it.
She laid down next to Jake to look over you while you slept. And slowly, the rest of the family sat around Jake and watched you sleep as well. Eventually, after about half an hour, Neytiri shooed them away to help her make lunch for everyone. This left You sleeping on Jake’s chest until lunch was made.
-Once he noticed the food was ready, Jake gently woke you from your nap. He knew you would still be groggy, so he carried you over to where the food was and sat with his family.
-He sat with you in his lap as the food was served. He made you a plate with a tiny, to him and his family, portion of food on it for you. However, he knew you really couldn’t eat anymore than what he put on it.
-His children side eyed him when he finished putting food on your plate, but didn’t question him. You had started to fully wake up when you smelled the food in front of you. You had eaten with Jake and Neytiri before, so you were excited for more of the food they make. You sat up straighter and reached to take the plate from Jake.
-He smiled and held it away from you to watch you pout at him. You ‘yelled’ at him, “Jake-Jake, give it!” He just chuckled and kissed your head then handed it to you. You smiled and started to eat.
-You got done with what was on your plate when everyone else was almost done with theirs. Neteyam asked if you wanted any more food and you just shook your head. He said okay, and side eyed you while you sat back against his dad. He and the rest of the family were kind of jealous of him for it.
-From then on you had slowly started to spend more and more time with the Sullys. Not because you asked to, but because they just took you with them to do stuff everyday.
~mini timeskip~
-You had been worried because of how many times you had to stay with Mo’at while the Sullys were fighting with humans. You really didn’t like any humans besides your Aunt, Norm, and Max at this point.
You were still with Mo’at in the healers tent when Kiri came in and picked you up to hand you to Neytiri. As she walked to the Sullys’ home you saw Jake, Neteyam, and Lo’ak looking really beat up. This made you really worried. You looked up at Neytiri and asked, “Hey Tiri? Are the boys okay?” She looked down at you and gave a strained smile while telling you that they would be fine.
She sat with you and Tuk in their home, with you in her lap and stroking Tuk’s hair to keep you two calm. The rest of the family came in a few hours later, Kiri annoyed and tired, and all of the boys bandaged up. You were concerned, but stayed where you were because you knew that Neytiri was also upset about this and that having you and Tuk near her was helping keep her calm.
You were present for dinner with them before Jake took you back to the lab for the night, which was odd for him now.
-Jake took the walk back home to discuss taking you with their family to the Metkayina. Neytiri didn’t want to leave the forest, but knew going would keep their family safer, including you.
-They both agreed to get you and your stuff the next day so you could make the move with them. Whether you wanted to or not. You were part of their family.
-They let their kids know the plan when they made it home. None of the kids were excited, but were happy that you would be going with them
-They had all packed all the stuff they could so they could leave as soon as they got you. They knew it would be better to just tell Mo’at and get you and your stuff as soon as Norm and Max got to work so they couldn’t be questioned for where they were taking you.
-As morning came, they loaded their stuff onto their Ikrans. Tuk would be riding with Neytiri and you would be riding with Jake. They came to the lab, and had you talk to Tuk while they packed your stuff and brought it out to the Ikrans. Jake got a blanket to wrap around you before he strapped you to him so you didn’t get cold during the flight over to the reefs.
-The flight took until the next day and you were getting tired of not being able to move around when you were awake. Though you slept for a lot of the ride because of the soothing motions of flying.
You could see that you were almost there, and were squirming in excitement. You were frustrated with being swaddled for so long. Once the Ikrans landed you were moved to be strapped on Jake’s back, which you whined about. At least they took away the blanket so you wouldn’t get overheated.
You were peeking over his shoulder to look at the new place and navi people. Two of them came to the front of the group, so you knew that they must be important. You looked at Jake from your strange angle as they greeted him and copied him by bowing your head as well.
The rest of the family saw this and smiled at you. This also made Ronal notice you and glare at Jake while saying he brought a demon here. Jake immediately defended you by saying you were just a child and part of their family. You smiled at his words. But still squirmed to get down. Jake sighed and untied you from him to set you down on the dock.
You were happy to stand on your own, but still stuck to Jake and gripped his leg. You looked up at the two navi and shyly waved your hand at them and bowed your head again. This made the man’s eyes soften at you, so you slightly smiled at him. He introduced himself and his wife, “I am Tonowari, and this is my mate Ronal. Why have you come here?”
Jake explained that they were seeking something called ‘uturu’ to protect their family from the bad humans. This just made Ronal angry and accused him of bringing war there. He denied it and said he just wanted his family to be safe. Tonowari caved and allowed them to stay, as long as they learned the Metkayina’s ways.
You smiled and said thank you to them for allowing you to stay. This finally made Ronal soften. She stopped glaring at you and gave you a fond look. This just made Neytiri glare at her from behind you. And with that, you got picked up again and got brought to the ‘marui’ by the pretty navi that was the two metkayina’s daughter.
-The kids were gonna be taught something by the chief’s kids and you wanted to go with them. It had been a while since you got to swim. You asked Neytiri to help you into a swimsuit so you could go with them.
-She helped you with it and told you to be careful before kissing your forehead and having you go while holding Kiri’s hand. That got hard for you so she carried you with them.
-You were excited to swim even if you wouldn’t be able to keep up with the Sully siblings. You went into the shallow water to wade around and look for shells while the chief’s children made their way over.
-They introduced themself again and you finally caught their names. Tsireya and Aonung. You told her she had a pretty name and got a large smile in return. Afterwards she asked if you wanted to try to learn the lesson as well. The Sullys weren’t happy, but you said you would try anyway.
-Tsireya was happy to have you join them, but didn’t expect much from you. She motioned you to follow them to the deeper water, so you started to slowly swim over to them. She was impressed at your ability to swim, but thought that you wouldn’t be able to do much else.
-She gave instructions for the forest navi on how to hold their breath properly to dive deep, and Kiri got it right away but the others were struggling a little bit. It only took the others a few more tries to get the hang of it. She then went over to you, who she found just floating on your back with your eyes closed and a smile on your face. This made her very happy for some reason.
-She pushed water towards you to get your attention. Once you looked at her while treading water, she asked if you wanted to learn the breathing lesson with her help. You smiled at her and nodded.
Tsireya gently took your hand and dragged you closer to her in the water. You were so tiny compared to her, she found it adorable. She re-explained the lesson while you intently listened to her. You nodded after she was done talking and took a breath how you thought she explained it before diving under the water.
She dove right after you to watch over you and saw you looking around under the water with wide eyes and a big smile. She followed you under the water, surprised at how well you were holding your breath for such a tiny human. You only lasted a few minutes before going back to the surface. She came up at the same time as you and held you up as you gushed to her about how beautiful it was.
She giggled as you went on about how amazing it was. Neteyam and Lo’ak were silently fuming watching you talk with Tsireya. They made eye contact before making their way over to you. They grabbed you to drag you with them. You giggled as they tickled you once you came over to the group of Sullys. Tuk and Kiri resurfaced when they noticed you with their brothers. Tuk came up beside your tiny group and started gushing with you about the beauty of the reef. Kiri decided to startle you by grabbing your ankle as she came back up.
You shrieked when your ankle was grabbed, but just pouted when Kiri started laughing once she was at the surface again. You shouted, “Not funny Riri!” Everyone just laughed at that, which made you pout more. You then huffed and dragged Kiri with you to go look at shells in the shallows.
You were pretty slow, so Kiri started dragging you with her as she swam to the shallows. Once you were able to stand in the water you went to the place where you could see shells before and called Kiri over to you. Tsireya ended up coming over to you two to ask what you were doing. You excitedly told her you were looking for pretty pink shells to take back to the marui to have Neytiri help make into a top for you.
-She said she would help you find all the pink shells you wanted, happy to see you so excited about it. You continued telling her about how pretty you thought the shell and pearl tops were that you had seen earlier. She giggled at your excitement.
-Aonung was watching his sister in confusion. He did see how cute you were, but didn’t understand his sister’s fascination with you. Their parents had told them to behave with the Sullys and especially the tiny one. He agreed, because he recognized how fragile you could be.
-He continued helping the siblings learn to dive while watching his sister with the girl and child. He just furrowed his brows at how happy she looked just finding shells with a random child she just met.
-He huffed and turned back to the other siblings to find them also looking at you. Which they always seem to be doing. He huffed and decided to end their lesson for the day.
-They all then swam over to you to help with finding more shells. They all had smiles on their faces while searching for shells with you. He just didn’t quite understand them and their borderline obsession with you.
-Tsireya went to get a small basket to put all your shells in. Once you decided you had enough shells, you took the basket and ran to find Neytiri.
-You found her in a tent with Ronal. You walked up to her and held up your basket to her. “Tiri, can you help me make a top with these?” You asked her very sweetly. She looked at your basket of shells and smiled while nodding at you. You looked at Ronal and asked if she wanted to help make you make a shell top too.
-Ronal went over, looked into your basket full of pink shells, and nodded at you with a fond look in her eyes. You told her all about how pretty you thought the shell and pearl tops metkayina women were wearing in the crowd of people. She just patted your head before getting some string to start weaving your top with.
You beamed at Neytiri as you described how you wanted the top to look like. With the shells dangling a little so they would jingle as you moved. She smiled and kissed your head before Ronal came back in with a good amount of string.
The two older women got started on making your top as you talked to them. You talked about how pretty the shells were, and how gorgeous the reefs were. When it was time to start making dinner, the top was finished and you had Neytiri help you put it on. You were beaming at the both of them because of how pretty you thought it was. You thanked both of them before running to find the Sully siblings or Jake.
You ran into Jake first. He was on a big thing with wings in the water with Tonowari with him. You got his attention by calling his name. He looked over at you and smiled while being confused at your new shirt. You began excitedly telling him about your day. About swimming and diving with Tsireya, looking for shells with her and the siblings, and having Neytiri and Ronal help make the top for you. He smiled and went over to you to pick you up and kiss your cheek. Tonowari was smiling at you too. He thought you were such a cute and kind child.
When you finished your rant, you looked at the creature in the water and asked what it was. Tonowari told you it was called a skimwing. You said that it was a cool name and looked harder at the creature. Tonowari smiled and asked if you wanted to get a closer look at it. You just nodded and Jake brought you closer to it. You made eye contact with the creature before reaching towards it. Both men were extremely surprised that it sat still and allowed you to pet it. It still puts a smile on Tonowari’s face though. It proved to him that you were such a sweet child even a skimwing could see it.
Seeing how it reacted, he made eye contact with Tonowari before they both nodded and he gently set you on its back. They let go of it and it swam in gentle circles with you, which made you smile and giggle. It got bored after a while and gently went under the water so you could swim off of it and away. You slowly swam back to Jake and he picked you up again.
You rested your head on his chest and yawned. He smiled and started walking back to the shore so you could take a nap before the communal dinner. You fell asleep on him while he was walking over to his children that were still with Tsireya and Aonung in the shallow water. He motioned to you before handing you to, surprisingly, Tsireya, who was the one that reached for you first. She nodded at him before he walked back to Tonowari to continue his own lessons before dinner.
-The Sully siblings were glaring at Tsireya while she was holding you to her. They had wanted to be the ones to hold you, she just happened to be closer to where Jake stood when walking over.
-She saw the glares and just smiled while looking down at you. She walked a little further into the water and swayed while holding you to her chest. You snuggled further into her when she did this. Her heart melted from how sweet of a child you were.
-She walked back to the siblings to ask how old you were. They told her you five. She was surprised that this was how tiny human children were at that age.
-She was holding you for about 40 minutes before their mothers came to tell them the communal dinner was ready. She sighed as Neytiri took you from her to bring you to where the Sullys would be eating.
-Tsireya went to her family and watched you sit in Neytiri’s lap while Jake made you a plate. Her whole family periodically looked over at you. It seems you had left an impression with all of them.
-Her and her parents had been frowning at how little food is put in the bowl meant for you. But if the Sullys found it fine, it must be okay. They ate on their own as the other family made conversation while they were all eating. You finished before the rest of the family and leaned back into Neytiri. Lo’ak asked if you wanted any more food, but you just shook your head.
-The other family just seemed content that you got enough food. They figured that it made sense with how tiny you were. You probably couldn't eat much at once.
-After dinner you went back to the shallows with the siblings and the chief’s children. There are no more lessons for the day, you just splashed in the shallows with the siblings. You started floating again as everyone else swam further in.
-You peacefully floated while looking up at the sky. After a while the sun started setting and you continued looking up at the beautiful colors going across the sky. You heard the water moving close to you and you looked around to find Neteyam coming over to you. You stood up and walked onto the shore with him
Neteyam called his other siblings over as well as he picked you up and brought you back to the marui with him. He went in to see that his mom had brought Tuk with her. He nodded at her while she went to put Tuk into the family bed. He had changed you into some of your night clothes while his mom went to call the others into the marui.
When everyone was in and dried off, they all got ready to sleep as well. They had all laid down before bundling your blanket around you and setting you on top of their sleep pile. They all fell asleep fast from all of the excitement of the day.
-They had all gotten used to living there and had gotten you to think of them as your family. You eventually called Jake and Neytiri ‘Dad’ and ‘Mama’, and the siblings your brothers and sisters.
-This made them all very happy, and they had started smothering you with affection because of it.

i’ve never requested anything before so idk how this works but, if you’re still taking request for avatar characters, i’m thinking of a neteyam x reader, like the reader is a really talented warrior and they’re the apprentice of Jake and Both the Reader and Neteyam are constantly in competition to see who’s the strongest and at some point one of them just has an outburst due to all the pressure they have on them. (btw i literally found your account today and i just have to say i love your writing) :))
NETEYAM X READER
Golden child
Tumblr media
———————————————————————
Growing up in the omaticaya clan, the people recognized the spark you had, a passionate flame that burned in your heart. Strong, leading. Everybody knew that you would be someone great, and that’s exactly what you were. You always aimed for the top, always made 1st place, always tried your hardest at everything you did.
And alongside you, the oldest son of Jake sully, neteyam.
The two of you were fairly close in age, you being only a few months younger, and when your parents died, and were given back to eywa, jake felt the responsibility of taking you in, they were in his war party, and you reminded him so much of himself. And Neytiri always wanted a daughter, so you became a sully.
And so it begun. With the two of you, everything had to be a competition. You got your ikran? Neteyam gets his a day later. You catch a fish while hunting? Neteyam catches 7. You can eat 2 fish? Neteyam can at 3. Every waking hour the two of you lived was spent staring at eachother, waiting to beat the other. THe only thing you had above him, was that you were in the war party, and he always on lookout.
“Did you get hurt while on your mission? I guess the sky people are getting too strong for you.” he spoke, noticing the cut on your cheek, the both of you knew he was joking. He pressed a piece of cloth against your cheek, sending a smirk. You just narrowed your eyes, chuckling.
“Being that i was able to come within 10 feet of one, im not worried. How was your little tree a mile away from our spot? Was it nice and warm?” you taunted right back at him, laughing at how his smirk fell. This was such a common interactionbetween the two of you, in which neither of you took it seriously.
Even so, you and neteyam were kind of forced to grow a bond, being that 90% of your time was spent trying to outdo the other. The two of you didnt really know why it was the way it was between you two, maybe the validation you got from jake in being the oldest sibling, or the golden child, who could protect the family. Both of you kindled the same flame, and it made both of you stronger.
So naturally, when the two of you both moved to the metkayina tribes together, along with the rest o the sully family, and learned that you would have to learn the ways of water… It became a rivalry. Who could pick it up faster. Who’s ilu was bigger, who could stay underwater for longer, who could stay out of trouble longer.
ANd to your great surprise, neteyam found himself winning at everything. He was just so fast in adjusting to the world around, he could ride on an ilu within the first days of trying, automatically he was able to understand the breathing techniques of the metkayina clan, he made it look. So . easy.
But you? You couldnt, you didnt even know why it was so hard, tuk even got it within a month. You could barely swim, holding your breath was harder than fighting a sky person in one of those suits, and you just couldnt bond with the nature around, even if it was beautiful. You tried your hardest, practicing for hours longer than you had to, almost feinting from exhaustion every night. But still, things didnt get better like they usually did.
And it tore you apart, youd never not been good at something, even if it was hard at first, you ALWAYS got better at it. That was why this was just so strange for you, so overwhelming to the point that it made you want to rip your hair out. You just couldnt comprehend how he was just so good at everything, that was your job, it's not fun to compete when you arent good at it.
So as a few months past, your agitation grew, and your patience shrunk. Things werent getting better, even Lo-ak was picking things up faster than you, and he never did that. And trust me, everybody noticed, you became snappy, talking back to your dad, refusing to hang out with tuk most of the time, and you even yelled at anuong twice for teasing you. Eventually, jake stopped complimenting you like he did in the forests, and that hurt more than anything else could. Even if it was unintentional.
Eventually, when it all became too much for you to handle anymore, you asked for help. And who else to ask but the one guy you knew had to help you. Neteyam, he had to miss your daily little competitions, so he needed you to get better at… everything.
“Neteyam?” you approached him when the two of you were alone, he was cleaning the saddles of his ilu, which generally was an easy task, actually it was quite calming, so you assumed he would be easier to talk to now.
“Yeah?”
“I- im having trouble-i need you to- could you- um-” you spluttered, you were not known to be shy. Ever. This place is changing too much about you, and you hate it. The only person youd ever really felt comfortable asking for help from was jake, and even then that was only in dire situations. You just didnt know how to do it without feeling weak, feeling inferior.
“Oh? Is somebody trying to ask me for help?” A smirk splayed on his face as he side eyed you, placing the ilu saddle down, he crossed his arms, and stared at you in the same way neytiri would when she would watch you do something stupid. It was condescending. You wanted to punch him in the face.
“Y-yes, I am” his stare sent you into an internal rabbit hole, it was unrelenting, and you could tell exactly what he was thinking. That you were becoming weak. That he finally beat you at something.
“Say it.”
“Really?” You crossed your arms and stared at the boy. He had to be out of his mind to think you would go that low for him to- oh. You were going that low.
“Say. It.”
“Neteyam, please help me”
“Oh wow. What happened to the girl who restled a thanator? Is everybodys favorite Sully losing her spark?” he joked, setting a hand on your shoulder and tilting his head with a smirk. He wasnt serious, the two of you always teased eachother, which was most of the time mean comments, but it never was serious. But at this point, the nights you spent trying to swim instead of sleeping caught up, and your comprehension had ceased to work. Imagine neteyams surprise when his lighthearted joke made your lip start to wobble, and your eyes start to gloss over.
“Yeah- i think i am.” and with those words, your shoulders started shaking, and in a few seconds you dropped to your knees, and were crying like tuk does when she gets hurt. Large sobs racked your chest, and you brought your hands up to your eyes, shielding yourself from the embarrassment that you knew would come with crying in front of the boy that you constantly competed against.
You’d never felt so fucking incompetent before, like you couldn’t contribute anything to the table anymore. It made you want to kill everybody within a ten mile radius.
Immediately when neteyam realized that you were serious, and that this wasnt something you and loak were pranking him with, he also fell onto his knees, and wrapped an arm around your shoulder, pulling you close to him. His hand found it's way to your face, and he pushed the curtain of hair away from your eyes, pulling your hands away your hands.
“No- no don't cry y/n. I Didnt mean it, youre perfect- It was a joke i promise” He spluttered out in any attempts to console you, his eyes met your own, and he just stared. The both of you had experience in consoling younger crying siblings, but it never was you. He didnt think hed ever seen you cry before. It’s like all of his instincts froze up, and he had absolutely no idea what to do.
“Thats the thing Nete. I think youre right- I cant do anything anymore- breathing is hard for me- And dad doesnt look at me like he used to anymore- I just- i don't know what im doing wrong” you squinted your eyes and sniffled, you were just so tired, and overwhelmed. And so fucking done. You wanted to go home, back to what was normal, back where you could function like a person.
“Ma we y/n. Ma we. Y/n, you are the youngest to ever be in the omaticaya war party. Your name is known across pandora, you’ve surpassed the limits of eywa. You are nothing but elite-” he shifted in front of you and placed of his hands on the sides of your face. It forced you to look him in the eyes, and listen to what he was saying.
“Shes gone though- I cant hunt like they do. I am not a warrior of the sea. I can do nothing now. And youre just- you can do everything I can’t” the more you talked, the harder you made it for yourself to stop crying. All of the emotion, all of the anger, the grief, the aggravation, just crumbled. Along with that stupid golden child complex of yours.
“Y/n. Shut up. You are so amazing to me it hurts. The only reason you feel like this is because for the first time, you can’t do something. But that’s okay. I’m here. I see you.” He pressed his forehead to your own, wiping the tears that left your eyes with his thumb. You closed your eyes, and let him embrace you. This was strange, weakened wasn’t something either of you were very keen on showing, especially with him, especially not when it made you feel like this. Like neteyam was more than a rival.
“You promise?”
“Of course. ”
The two of you sat there for a moment, foreheads pressed closely, his hand on your shoulder and your face, comforting you with touch, rubbing circles into your back and wiping tears away. You could feel his breath, his heartbeat. And that alone was able to calm you down. Just him.
Just neteyam.
“I’m sorry- I know this is stupid I just didn’t know who else to ask and I thought you-“ it only took you a few seconds to realize the intimacy of the situation, him holding you, pressed up against your face, if anybody were to see you your parents would throw a fit. Your cheeks flushed a deeper shade of purple-y blue, and you stood up, breaking the locked eyes you had with the boy. He just chuckled.
“Does this mean I win?“ he let out the same giggle tuk might have when you went to throw the ilu saddle at him. Which eventually turned into him tackling you into the water. The two of you laughed, pretending to forget whatever just happened, whatever step the two of you just took in your relationship, trying to avoid whatever feelings both of you were most certainly having all of a sudden.
“Oh shut up”
———
*Bonus*
Anuong And loak watch your two figures from a farther away peer, they had been training when they caught eyes of the two golden silly’s getting a little too close for comfort. Immediately lo-ak was cackling at how stressed neteyam looked being so close to you.
“Let’s make a bet, loser has to do the others chores for a month” anuong spoke, staring at the two of you with intent. Lo-ak raised an eyebrow and smiled, it was so funny, he’d always been able to see it. The two of you were head over heels, you just couldn’t see it.
“I’d give it a week before they’re on top of eachother like mates” he answered, leaning over the edge of the peer and watching the two of press together. He couldn’t blame his brother for being so in love with you , you were amazing. Doesn’t mean he wouldn’t use your relationship to his advantage.
“You’re on, fish lips.”

𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫
Tumblr media
pairings: sully family x sister!reader
warnings: none I think!
word count: 2.2k
a/n: the reader will be replacing Tuk but as a 10 year old! this is for all my babies that just want to be loved and protected <33.
(this takes place before the plot of avatar twow!!)
even though you were only a few years younger than the rest of your siblings, you were babied for your entire childhood.
you couldn't do pretty much anything without one of your family members following on behind you or asking what you were doing every 30 seconds.
while you thought it was extremely annoying, your parents and siblings thought it was perfectly normal.
your family were extremely protective over you, and to be honest, it was kinda cute.
but it was on days like these, you just had enough of it.
It was way past eclipse before your family got home from the fight against the sky people. kiri was sent to tend against the injured while the rest of your family were fighting, your older brothers being spotters as normal on their ikrans.
while they were gone you were told stay close to your grandma mo'at, so you did what you did almost everyday, stay inside and make bracelets for the family. It was the only thing you had been doing pretty much everyday for years.
you were just finishing up your third bracelet when you heard shouts coming from outside your tent.
"the war party is back!" you heard someone call.
hurriedly, you chucked the bracelet into the box and ran outside to the cliffs, dodging your clan members while you were at it.
"slow down y/n, you could get hurt!" a nearby scientist called out to you.
"sorry!" you replied on instinct, not really listening to what they were saying.
you saw your mother and father first, hopping off their ikrans and taking their weapons off of themselves. although they looked perfectly fine, there was a glint in their eyes you couldn't quite understand.
next you saw your brothers and your sister kiri, landing their ikrans next to your parents. a few minor cuts and scrapes were placed on your brothers torsos however that was hardly out of the norm, due to their daring personalities. but they still stared the same look at your parents, what was going on?
choosing to ignore this for now, you ran up to your family, shouting excitedly, "mom, dad!"
your mother turned around in just enough time to see you fling your arms around her waist and nuzzle into the side of her waist.
"y/n, y/n, y/n." she muttered your name, picking you up by your armpits and resting you on her hip.
it was normal for you to go to your mother first after your family coming back from fights. your mom was always the most tense and it was only right for you to ease her worries before she would scold one of your siblings for doing something wrong. it was like you were the water on her fire.
as she ran her fingers through your hair and turned to look into your eyes, you could still see that tense glint in her eyes. huh, that's weird.
before you had time to think much of it, you were quickly lifted up off of your mother and put into the hands of neteyam. neteyam was your oldest brother and probably the most protective, although it was hard to tell sometimes with lo'ak's fiery personality. however, it was certain that neteyam was the softest with you, he was always the sibling you would go to if you hand any problems. and he was always the one holding your hand or cuddling you when you felt upset or frightened. you loved it.
"how is my little sis doing?" he asked, embracing you in his arms and kissing your forehead gently. yup, definitely the softest with you.
"im okay." you giggled, wiping at the yellow war paint on his face. you loved the colour yellow since it matched your eyes.
"well you must be tired because it is way past you bedtime baby, you ought to be asleep!" your father told you, moving away from his ikran to take you out of neteyam's arms and probably off to bed.
bed? you thought. it was only 8:30! something was definitely up.
"no!" you whined. wriggling out of neteyam's grip and running away to hide behind the closest ikran.
however, you only got about two or three steps before you were swept back off your feet and into lo'ak's arms, his grip tight on you.
"oh no you don't" he chuckled, looking at kiri who also laughed at your attempt to get away from bed.
"please! you only just came home, i want to see you!" you spoke as you struggled against lo'ak's tight grip on you. but feeling you move in his arms only made lo'ak's hold on you tighter.
"sorry my love but you're too young to be up this late! plus, me and your father need to discuss something with your siblings." your mother said, sharing a stern glance at your family beside you. well now you knew that 100% something was up.
lo'ak carried you back into the sleeping room of your tent, gently setting you down on your small sleeping matt in the corner at whispering a soft goodnight in your ear before leaving the room.
though your big sister kiri came in a couple minutes later to tuck you in, handing you your little na'vi toy and bending down to quickly kiss your temple and say goodnight.
"love you, y/n". she whispered, before standing up to leave the room. yet, you couldn't help but notice her shoulder's tense before going into the main living room of the tent.
what were your family going to talk about? whatever it was, you were going to find out.
curiosity had always been a big feature in your personality, you were always known as the girl in the village who asked too many questions, but you never thought that as a bad thing. as your father used to say, 'curiosity always killed the cat', but not really knowing what a 'cat' was, you chose to ignore his comment.
anyway, it was now 8:56 in the evening and you had been staring up at your ceiling for about ten minutes, now you decided it was finally time to find out what your family was hiding from you. wether it was a good or bad thing, you still deserved to know. nevertheless you had to make sure your parents thought you were asleep before eavesdropping into their conversation at night, so you decided to wait ten minutes.
after finally feeling that you had waited long enough, you cautiously stood up off your sleeping mat and made your way over to the small hole in your weaved wall, making sure you made no noise as you stood on your tiptoes to peer in.
sure enough, your family were speaking about something.
"listen, today we saw that more space ships are returning on pandora, this means we have to be extra careful when going on trips. got it?" your father spoke to your siblings who were standing in a circle around the fire, each of them giving glances to the other.
what does he mean more space ships? you wonder looking at your fathers unreadable expression.
"got it?" your father spoke clearer, realising he hadn’t gotten an answer from his children.
"yes sir". they all spoke in unison, sharing the same look you couldn’t quite understand.
you were used to your siblings calling your father sir by now, but it had always seemed very odd to you. why did your siblings have to call their father sir when you were not allowed to call him sir at all? it suddenly hit you in that moment just how much you didn’t know about your family and how confusing your life really is.
however, your mother cut your thought stepping in front of jake when she spoke, "your father and i have been doing some speaking and we think it would be better if you were not allowed to go beyond the hallelujah mountains, it is for your own safety from these new threats."
your brothers and sister let out a chorus of protests and complaints, stepping aside from the fireplace and over to your parents.
how could they do this? you thought, you had never seen a sky person that wasn't a scientist before and what did your parents mean about spaceships? this isn't fair!
suddenly, the room went quiet in front of you and all your family turned to look in your direction.
"y/n?" your mother looked straight into your eye.
oh eywa, i must have said that last part aloud, you thought. you were totally busted.
immediately, you backed away from the crack and tried to sprint back to your bed, only to hear your father call, "y/n, we saw you. now please come in here to speak to us."
you sighed as you stepped up off the floor and walked towards the living room. what were you going to say to your parents?
as you stepped into the large room inside of your tent, you were met with looks of disappointment from your parents and stern looks from your siblings, so you just decided to stay in the corner of the room near the door.
"y/n what were you doing listening into our conversation tonight, you know you were supposed to be asleep." your father spoke in his leader voice, this made you flinch against the doorway.
"ma jake." your mother scolded your father. she hated it when your father got too stern with you, she always said you were too young to be spoken too in such a way.
looking guilty as you turned away from the door and to your parents, you spoke. "i just wanted to know what was going on tonight. i saw your worried looks when you came back from the fight today and thought something was up, so i listened into your conversation to make sure nothing bad happened." you fiddled with the beads on your skirt as you spoke.
your parents shared a worried glance before your mother turned to you and uttered, "my love, you should be in bed right now. you are simply too young to need to know what is happening and too young to even understand it, please go back to bed."
but you didn't move to go back to bed, you were too overcome by anger and frustration. it was always that you were too young for anything. when were you ever going to grow up?
taking a couple steps forwards before speaking, you reasoned, "i am tired of being treated like a baby mom and dad! i just want to know what is happening in my life and you guys won't let me because i am 'too young'! i am ten, not four!"
"y/n-" your sister kiri tried to cut you off, but you just continued.
"no kiri! you don't understand. you, neteyam and lo'ak got your first ikrans at the age of nine! i am ten but i am still told everyday that i am 'too young' to do anything on my own, anything! all i want to do is act like other kids my age without having someone peering over my shoulder the whole time! all i want to do is be a normal ten year old!" your voice broke at the end of your speech and you didn't realise you were crying until neteyam was in front of you, using the pads of his thumbs to gently wipe away the tears on your cheeks and using an arm to pull your head onto his stomach.
"y/n", your father kneeled down infront of you before continuing his sentence, "we see your frustrations and know your pain, but please keep in mind you are still ten. ten year olds should not be involved with wars and fighting, they should be at home enjoying their childhood years safe. plus, me and the rest of your family feel as if you are not ready yet to go out on adventures on your own, and that is final." jake stepped up off the ground and pecked a kiss at your forehead, but this only made your anger rise.
not ready to go on adventures on my own? you thought, feeling your little four-fingered hands turn into fists. they are not listening! i'll show them what i am really capable of.
you pushed out of neteyam's grasp, speaking to everyone in the room when you said, "you guys aren't listening! i'll show you that i am not too young, just you wait." after speaking, you ran out of the room and towards the main door, ignoring your families shouts and cries for you to stop.
lo'ak, who you had actually had forgotten was there because he was so quiet, make an attempt to grab your arm. however, you just dodged his hand and sped up your pace before reaching the edge of the cliff infront of you, right next to the ikrans. perfect, you thought.
without thinking about the consequences, you threw yourself onto the closest ikran and connected the bond without a thought.
oh eywa, you were really in trouble now.
this is the first fanfic i have ever written so apologies if it is bad! idk if i will be making a pt 2 to this because it is just a oneshot but we’ll see!
if there are any mistakes in the text please let me know in the comments and i will really appreciate it!
anyway, i hope you enjoy the rest of your day and have fun!

PICK YOUR SIDE (rewrite)
Tumblr media
includes : fem!reader. cursing. implied death. older sister!reader. younger sister!reader. reader is older than lo’ak but younger than neteyam. angst. read with caution (?). i’m leaving this on a cliffhanger.
Tumblr media
they say a picture is worth a thousand words. you beg to differ. the smiles of your family members made your mouth go sour. who knew it would go so wrong so quickly.
your fingers trailed over the family photo in your hand, stopping over neteyam’s face. he was such a bright soul, he must’ve been so scared.
it’s been a few years since neteyam had passed. three to be exact. the family went somewhat back to normal but the home you all once shared felt more dull and dim than normal.
you all left neteyam’s things untouched. his bow still in the same place. his pillow positioned in the same way. you all just couldn’t move it, feeling like you were slowly removing parts of neteyam by touching his things.
your family all grieved him in different ways. some ways were healthy and some were questionable. but you didn’t feel the need to bring it up. you were dealing with your own feelings. you felt hurt, betrayed, guilty and most of all, angry. your anger was a force to be reckoned with per-say. you did a good job at hiding it, pushing it down for 3 years straight.
Tumblr media
your father experienced the most change out of all of you. becoming more protective of the rest of you all, never wanting to experience that kind of loss ever again. so when quartich and the rda came back, he immediately shut down the idea of helping them fight.
‘but father please i-‘ ‘y/n that’s final. you will stay here with lo’ak and tuk.’ yet again your father dismissed you, your mother flashing you a pitiful expression as she followed your father.
it wasn’t fair. you deserved just as much as a chance as they did. you could help them. you could avenge your brothers death. neteyam didn’t deserve to die in vain.
lo’ak appeared behind you, a large hand on your shoulder. lo’ak grew into such a mature young man, he was 17 now, a true warrior. he mirrored neteyam so much it brought tears to your eyes.
‘go. i’ll watch tuk. go help them fight’ he said, placing something in your hand. it was neteyam’s bow and a few of his arrows. ‘lo’ak no i can’t-‘. lo’ak said nothing as he pushed you out of your home, giving you a small smile before running back in.
Tumblr media
you quickly caught up to your parents. jake didn’t speak as he figured you would come anyways despite his warning. he knew you were just like lo’ak, hard headed and stubborn. neytiri didn’t want to admit it but she was glad you were there.
the three of you managed to make your way deeper into the forest, your bodies on constant high alert. your ear twitched as you heard a twig snap, neck snapping towards the noise as you quickly lined up the arrow with his bow, whispering a quick ‘make this one count neteyam..’ before the figure jumped out at you, holding its hands up and yelling ‘don’t shoot it’s me!’ you instantly recognized the voice as spider, lowering your bow and sighing. ‘you’re lucky i didn’t kill you’ not knowing the events that would take place there shortly afterwards.
Tumblr media
your dad had alerted you that they had found quartich a few moments later, turning your attention from spider and bolting your way towards the cliff they were on, spider hot on your tail.
you watched as your father and the man who’s tortured your family for years tussled, both men slightly wounded from the brawl. ‘mom! dad!’ you yelled, turning their attention to you. just then quartich quickly kicked jake off of him, radioing in for the helicopter to come down and get him.
your father rubbed his nose and your mother ran up to you, screening for any injury. ‘mother i am fine..’ the winds from the helicopter propellers made your hair fly into your face, watching as your father just let him go. ‘you son of a bitch i thought we killed you already!’ he yelled over the noise.
quartich just let out a sinister laugh, looking behind them and winking. ‘you have my boy to thank! saving his old man like a son should!’
Tumblr media
your world froze. your blood went cold. the sound of the bow and arrows hitting the floor like blocks on a carpet. you couldn’t help but slowly turn around, horror painted across your face as you met eyes with the boy who you thought of as a friend. as a brother.
‘boy..is this true’ jake said, the noise was gone as quartich flew away. spider was silent. the 3 year long feeling of guilt eating away at his insides as he put his head down, shame written all over his face.
neytiri said nothing, afraid she was going to severely harm the boy yet again, she stayed silent, yet her eyes told a million words at once.
you felt like you couldn’t breathe. you felt like the world was caving under you as you stalked over to the boy. ‘did you..really?’ you asked, your voice nothing short of a whisper. he met eyes with you, giving a shameful nod.
in that moment you felt nothing but rage. 1,065 days of rage. the nights and days you stayed up sobbing, wishing to yourself that it was you. praying to eywa to bring your brother back. 3 years of suppressed anger bubbling over like tea in a kettle.
Tumblr media
everything moved in an instant. one minute you were in front of the boy, now you are dangling him from the cliff, his cries and pleads with you to spare his life were muffled as your mind was spinning every which way.
‘y/n no!’ your father tried to rush over to you but neytiri was quick to stop him. while she disliked the human boy, her body tensed up watching you hold him over the ledge. one wrong move and you both were done for. ‘ma jake..if you go..they will both fall’ she said, holding a tight grip on her husband. jake looked surprised at you. you couldn’t even hurt a fly if you tried and here you were, on the verge of killing spider.
he felt bad for both parties. spider was just a boy protecting his family, as jake does with his own family. and you were his grieving daughter. he felt for you but he also felt for spider
‘y/n just think about this..you don’t have to do this..killing him won’t bring neteyam back..you gain nothing from this..’ he said, breaking from neytiris grip, stalking over to you with his hand extended, hoping you would break out of this trance and realize what you’re doing.
‘father..you really want to save this human? he’s the reason your son is dead.. your precious golden child..and you want to save him?” you looked back at your father, leaning spider over the edge even further, almost slipping in the process.
‘y/n!’ your mother called, now behind jake as she’s trying desperately to pull you back, afraid to lose another child.
‘i’m going to give you both a choice..pick your side..me?’ you said turning to them, angry tears now streaming down your face. you slowly turned your head to the now sobbing boy as he continued to beg and plead for his life.
‘or the bitch im gonna kill?’

The Gentle Stars
Tumblr media
Hi! So this is my very first time writing anything, but I figured I would give it a shot. If you liked it please leave a like or comment!
You and your dad, Jake Sully, look at the night sky. Child!Reader.
“Daddy?”
“Yeah, baby girl?”
You turn around in the arms of your father, your tiny legs wrapped around the side of his slim waist as you both look up at the stars together. One of his arms is wrapped around your shoulders, the other placed lower on your back to support your weight. You rest your head against the bare skin of his shoulder, soaking in his gentle warmth. The night air is warm and wet, and the insects buzz around the forest in a low, constant hum. In the distance, you can hear the low murmuring and laughter of your clan.
“You and Mommy said you came from the stars, right?” You ask softly, tilting your head up so you can meet the eyes of your father.
He leans his head down slightly to return your gaze, golden eyes almost glowing in the surrounding darkness. Up on this side of the forest, there are more rocks than there are bioluminescent plants, which dims the environment. The darker color of his face makes his eyes gleam that much fiercer, but the look in them is as gentle and soft as it always is when he talks with his young children. The small spots on his face and neck glow a bright white.
“That’s right.” He says just as softly, deep voice reverberating from his chest into your smaller, more fragile one.
It’s times like these that make you the happiest, even at such a young age. Being surrounded by your family, with your clan and the light of their fire at your back, protecting you. Being loved is an all-consuming feeling. There is nothing quite like the endlessly affectionate and gentle embrace of a parent. You are content, here in this lively and glowing forest. Here in your home.
“What was your star like?”
“My star?”
“Yeah, the home you had before you had us. What was your star like?”
Your father shifts his grip on your arms, looking up at the bright night sky.
“Well. When I was born, that star was already…hurting. The people there had almost burned it out completely. But from what I learned when I was a kid, it was a beautiful place, just like our star here.”
He continues, just as quietly as before.
“It was…a different place from our star, but there are some things that are the same. It’s almost like the people on that star turned it into a pale imitation of itself, like they took too much and sucked the life right out of it. That’s the best way I can describe it, at least.”
“Oh.” You say, snuggling deeper into your father’s hold, suddenly chilly. “That’s sad.”
“Yeah, kid, it is.” Your father acknowledges, and lowers his head onto the top of yours.
“It’s part of the reason why I was so captivated when I first came to our home. The life and vibrancy of this place was so different from where I had grown up. The contrast was startling, to say the least.”
“And then you meet Mommy, right?”
Your father laughs and says, “Yeah, sure did. Your Mom was the first person I met who was from this star, and she taught me the ways of her people. In time, they became my people, too.”
His ears suddenly flick, as if sensing something, and his smile grows a little slyer.
“And when I met your mom, she was totally charmed by my calm nature and the vast amount of knowledge I had. Oh yeah, I practically had to run away from your mother with how much she was throwing herself at me - hey!” A large blue hand slapped out gently to the side of your father’s head and he dodged it as best he could, laughing.
Your own ears twitch as you finally hear the approaching form of your mother, and you lift your head away from your father to make eye contact with her over your father’s shoulder. She meets your eyes and smiles. Once she gets to you and your father, she reaches out to fondly caress the back of your cheek with her knuckle. Her own large golden eyes are warm and soft.
You grin back at her, eyes bunching up in delight and sharp little teeth glinting in the night.
Your father uses the arm not supporting you to wrap himself around the waist of your mother, pulling her into his side and pressing his nose into the side of her cheek.
“My Jake, you dare tell lies to our daughter?”
“Nah, never. Maybe we just remember things differently.”
She scoffs and lays a hand on the arm wrapped around her waist.
“As if I could ever forget the night we met.”
A soft coo comes from the area of your mother’s chest, and you look down to see the sleeping form of your baby brother strapped onto her torso. His eyes are closed and his breathing is even, little hands curled into fists above his head and resting on her clavicle. The hand not on her mate’s arm rests lightly upon his little head.
Many years from now, you will finally stab a knife into the neck of an evil man and watch him choke to death on his blood. As you watch the life fade from his eyes, you will remember this moment, when your innocence and family were still whole.
But it is now, not then, and as you look up at the stars that surround you and your family, you are at peace.

Tw: battle royal stuff, bullying, fighting, Mia beating Ao'nung's ass,
A/N: Based on the idea that a lovely Anon gave me. I also think about these ask. I kind of based Mia and Ao'nung fight after Maddy and Cassie's fight.

Tumblr media
Life was good, you and Mia were living with the humans on Pandora and the Sully's. You had nothing to really worry about, you were living peacefully, not only that but you and Mia had your avatar's, the prices from last year's game. It felt strange being in a different body, it was also cool.
Even in your avatars, you and Mia still looked like yourselves. You both had manage to find hair bleach and you used it, you avoided the queue because Norm had told you and Mia that it was very sensitive. You both have thought about mating with one another since you were both besties, but you didn't. Even as avatars you still used the clothes that you used during the game, it fit small, but perfect. Everyone knew that it was you and Mia, what other na'vi or avatar has blonde strands of hair or bright makeup.
Just like Jake, you and Mia did the whole rite to passage to be part of the people. Mia was terrified of the direhorse, the whole time she had been freaking out when learning how to ride the creature, but she got the hang of it. When it came to the ikran, you and Mia were excited. You had already been thinking of names and how to dress them.
Mia went first, she was ready to get herself an ikran. Even more ready when she found out about that it might kill her. Then an ikran had hissed at her, the creature was a lilac purple color with a hot pink chin and red markings. The creature had picked her. Mia had a hard time trying to bond with the creature, instead of freaking out, she seemed to be having fun. Then she manage to tame the creature and went on a flight to seal the bond.
You couldn't wait any longer, you got even more hyped. As yo got near the ikran, non had seemed to want to attack you at first, but then one spotted you approaching. It was a baby pink with a hot pink chin and dark red markings. She was the one. Just like Mia, it was a struggle, but you manage to bond with your now ikran and went on a flight. You and Mia celebrated mid air that you both had got your ikran at the same time. Naming them was hard, you couldn't really decide on what to name them. You had finally named them after yours and Mia's favorite Sanrio characters. Mia named hers Kuromi and your My Melody.
Tumblr media
That was cut short when the Sully's had to leave, apparently the RDA was after Jake and they had targeted the whole family. You and Mia didn't have to go since you weren't involved, but you both went with them. It was kind of difficult since you and Mia were still human with Avatar's. Something was settled, you and Mia would go with the Sully's with the Metkayina in your avatars so that they didn't have a hard time being accepted in the clan.
When you all arrived, it felt awkward, eveyone's eyes were all of you, mostly you and Mia. Probably due to the fact that they have ever seen na'vi with a bit of blonde hair. Mia couldn't stop looking at the at some boy with his hair up, she basically had her jaw hitting the floor when looking at him. That was cut short when the Tsahik showed up, she did not seem happy that you were all here.
Ronal commented about having thin arms, small tails, and not only that, but pointing out how Kiri and Lo'ak weren't true na'vi. Then she turned to you and Mia, also pointing out how you both weren't real na'vi, she wasn't wrong. Then Ronal touched Mia's hair, you saw how she held herself back from swatting and yelling at the Tsahik to not touch her hair. She pointed out how you both looked 'abnormal'. Luckily you were all allowed to stay with the condition that you learn to adapt.
You got introduced to Ao'nung and Tsireya who would be the ones teaching the Sully kids as well as you guys. Tsireya was kind enough to show you all around the village and take you to your now new home. The whole time Mia had been eyeing Ao'nung, she couldn't help but stare at him, until you arrived at the Marui. You all could tell how Neytiri was still not happy about having to leave here home and not only that but how she nearly threw hands with the Tsahik. Mia then told you about how she found Ao'nung cute and had planned to shoot her shot with him, that was cut short due to Jake having to speak to all the family. He explained that you all had to be on your best behavior and not cause any trouble.
Tumblr media
The next morning was when lessons were going to start. You basically had to drag Mia out of the Marui before she put any makeup on and do her hair, she'll mess it up anyway. When everyone was out in the water, they waited for you and Mia to join in, but Mia was trying to look for an excuse not to going, but you decided to push her in the water. She was mad at first but let it go. It was difficult keeping up with the Metkayina kids sine they were fast and knew everything about the ocean since they lived around it.
After swimming around for a while, Tsireya and Rotxo taught you all how to breath longer underwater. Mia was kind of sad when she saw how Ao'nung wasn't with them for that lessons, but was when you were all learning how to bond with the ilus. The whole time Mia had been standing close to Ao'nung and his friends, she wasn't really paying attention on what they were talking about, she only had her attention on the chief's son. You saw how her tail basically wagged and her eyes sparkled just by the sight of him. You were the one to notice out of everyone since you how Mia would behave around a boy she was interested in.
Later you, Mia and Kiri were looking around the beach together. Kiri was really amazed by the beach since she has never seen near an ocean in her life. You and Mia had told her about the beaches on earth, but you could never swim in the contaminated ocean. While you were all sticking your heads in the water to look at the light colored sand. That was cut short when Ao'nung and his friends approached. "They're just looking at the sand." He pointed at you all, then Mia stuck her head out first, followed by Kiri and You.
"Did you say something?" Mia asked him, this caught the attention of both you and Kiri. "Are you all some kinds of... freaks?" he asked rudely. You all didn't answer, but got up from the floor. "He asked if you a freak." Koro chimed in. Then Kiri responded for all of you. "No" then you were all beginning to walk away from them, but they weren't done. "You guys aren't even true na'vi, just look at this hands." Ao'nung got a hold of Mia's wrist, but before she could do anything Lo'ak had appeared from nowhere. "Hey! Back off fishlips!" he referred to Ao'nung who let go of Mia's wrist.
"Awe, another four fingered freak" he laughed as he back away from Lo'ak who got close to his face. The group continued to pester you all, Kiri had yelled out to leave you guys alone, but then Neteyam showed up and everything went quiet. He had warned Ao'nung and his friends to leave you guys alone and to start respecting you, Kiri and Mia. Ao'nung had back off a bit, as you were all living he made a comment on how you were all freaks.
Mia was the first one to stop, then looked back at the group. She then gave you a look, you knew full well what that meant. She went over to Ao'nug and his group. She came face to face with Ao'nung. You couldn't hear what she was saying, but you saw how Mia was showing Ao'nung a your 'trick', you knew full well what was about to happen, she'd use that trick on Mizuchi once. Then you all watched how Mia had not once but punched Ao'nung three times making him fall backwards.
"That's a punch bitch!" she yelled, stomping over to where Ao'nung was, his friends back away from her a bit. You all watched how Mia grabbed Ao'nung by the head and had a grip on his queue, making him cry out in pain. Mia began to yell at him, not in English or na'vi but in Japanese, the Sully kids watched as Mia continued to yell at Ao'nung, not understanding her at all, but you did. She was cussing up a storm, she even said profanities you didn't know she knew. Not only that but she began to pull him to stand up by his queue and held him tightly like a rag doll. Then his friends tried to get Mia to let go of Ao'nung, but as soon as they touched her.
Lo'ak had jumped into action, now a fight began to unfold. You watched as Mia continued to yell at Ao'nung and was now slapping him around the face hard. He tried to get away from her by running in a different direction, but Mia got a hold of him from behind and attempted to choke him. Lo'ak continued to fight the other kids. You, Kiri and Neteyam watched, until Neteyam also decided to join in. You and Kiri just watched, Kiri commented on how stupid this was. You were laughing the whole time, seen Mia beat her crush's ass, then Kiri also began to laugh due to the yelling.
Tumblr media
Now Mia, Lo'ak and Neteyam were being dragged to the marui by Jake. They all had bruises in the face and around the body, Mia was limping a bit due to a bruise on her foot, she barely had an scratches on her face, but her knuckles were bruised. "What was the one thing I told you all" Jake yelled. "Not get into trouble." Lo'ak said, Mia was looking at her now red knuckles and broken nail. "Sir, It was my fault I-" Neteyam tried to take the blame but Jake wasn't having it.
"It was my fault, I started it, If you want to be mad at someone be mad at me" Mia said, Jake then looked at her, seen her red knuckles and injured foot. "They were picking on me, y/n and Kiri. My anger got the best of me, I'm sorry Jake" she said in her defense. Jake just sighed. "Go apologize, I don't care how just go make peace." Mia sigh an rolled her eyes, going to apologize to Ao'nung.
Now it was just Jake, Neteyam and Lo'ak. Their father just sigh. "How did the others look like?" he asked, Neteyam responded. "Worse." He said, then Jake nodded. "That's good." Then Lo'sk chimed in. "Not only that but Ao'nung got beat up by a girl, out of all girls Mia" Lo'ak said chuckling along with Neteyam. "Alright, get out of here." Jake instructed his son and both of them left the Marui.

Mama's boy
Tumblr media
Pair: Jake x neytiri x human reader (trio couple) x sully children's
Warning: none, lo'ak being a sweet little potato for is mama. Sweet family moment.
Request: (anon) You were incredible in these new chapters, if it wasn't much, I would have been able to do a trisal story about Jake, neitiry and reader human where she has 2 more hybrid children (half human,Half na'vi)..
Note: I have always believed that avatars may be able to reproduce with humans. Both males and females. Since there are human traits in their DNA. So both jake and his children could reproduce with any human. That is my theory.
AVATAR MASTERLIST | Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6(final)
Tumblr media
You loved days like this, it was a fresh and calm day in the jungle of Pandora. No one in the family had anything important to do. Just relax and spend time together. If anyone had told you that in a few years you were going to be sitting quietly on the floor of your home. With your son on your lap, while playing with one of his toys. With such loving partners, you wouldn't have believed them. And you had a good point for not believing. Neytiri and Jake were your mates, while you were human. The only human who was mated to two na'vi. The only human who had given birth to a na'vi baby, naturally.
Lo'ak had been born as a na'vi. With his distinctive braid, tail, skin color, ears etc. Just like his father, jake. But his human features were always there, he inherited your hands, some facial features that made him different from his siblings. Like kiri, they were a mixture of human and na'vi. This was not important to you, in your family these differences were not important and everyone was treated equally.
Neytiri was running around in circles playing with kiri, while neteyam was playing with jake. Meanwhile lo'ak was sitting very comfortably on your lap. Sucking his little finger, while you cuddled him. He was very peaceful, well…when he was with you. The bond that lo'ak had with you was very strong, he needed his mommy with him all the time. Neteyam and kiri were more active, while lo'ak preferred to be by your side. You tried to keep him away from you, so that he would become more independent. But it was all in vain, even mo'at herself told you that this was normal. That eventually he would become more independent, but he was already 5 years old, and he didn't seem to improve. Of course, this never bothered you… lo'ak became your own tail. Always behind you. Lo'ak could be with neytiri, about 3 to 5 hours. But then he would cry for you to hold him, and it was the same with jake. Lo'ak just wanted to be with you.
Neteyam ran to you, hugging you. The boy was about your size, but you didn't care. Hugging him back, to give him lots of kisses on his cheeks. Neteyam didn't notice but pushed lo'ak off your lap, causing the boy to fall to the ground. "mama… I want to be with you" says neteyam, now sitting where lo'ak once was. Lo'ak immediately began to cry. It was a very big and exaggerated whine. "Calm love…neteyam needs to be with me too" you try to calm him down, but you could barely touch him. Because neteyam was curled up on your chest. Neytiri comes closer, taking lo'ak in her arms to calm him down.
After a long six minutes, lo'ak calms down. But you can see how the child looks down from above, on Neytiri's shoulder. His eyes were watery and he was pouting. You try to ignore him, he has to learn that you were not only from him. Neteyam was also your son, as was Kiri. And they too demanded your attention. Kiri approaches his younger brother, hopping from neytiri's feet. "You're a mama's boy… an ugly, crying baby," Kiri says jokingly. Neytiri scolds her, while you and jake couldn't hold in the laughter. It was funny, but you take Kiri by the arm. Sitting her down next to you.
"Kiri…that's not right, lo'ak is special. He needs a lot of love" says neytiri holding the child in her arms, hoping he doesn't start crying. "No…mama is mine!!!!" says neteyam, hugging your neck more. Lo'ak whimpers, lifting his head from neytiri's shoulder. "Noooo mama is mine" shouts lo'ak.
"No!!!, only mine!!!" neteyam yells back, sticking out his tongue. This makes lo'ak upset, and he starts to cry. "nooo mama!!!! Let go of neteyam!!!!! Mama let go of me, I want to go on the floor" lo'ak is crying, while neytiri giggles a little. It's adorable to watch as the two children fight for your attention. Jake gets up from the floor, walking to your direction and taking neteyam from your lap. To now lay him down on the floor. Kneeling on the floor to carry you in his arms, bridal style. You laugh, as the children begin to whine.
"Technically, your mom is all mine" jake says, sticking his tongue out at his kids, reaching over to give you a kiss on your forehead. Watching as they start to whine. Neytiri was giggling, while now all the kids wanted her to carry them to keep up with jake. "Well…I'd say I'm more Neytiri's than yours" you say, reaching up to give him a kiss on the tip of his nose. (Y/N is wearing the oxygen mask I'm always mentioning, "click here" to learn more about it) Neytiti lets out a loud laugh, you could see her cheeks turn purple. Neytiri had a soft spot for you. Jake lets out a sigh of surrender and hugs you tighter. Leaving kisses on your neck, while you laugh.
In the evening, everyone was settled in their respective hammocks. You were finishing getting Kiri settled, while Jake put the boys to bed. After a while, you lay down in your own hammock, you were tired. You were about to go to sleep, when you feel little hands touching your arm. You open your eyes, finding lo'ak's little face. The child had his arms outstretched for you to carry him. Laughing a little, you hold the child. And settle him on your chest. Snuggling him with your arms, giving him lots of kisses on the crown of his head. "My beautiful baby…you are sad" you lullaby to lo'ak. He only responds with a "hmmm" and falls asleep in your arms.
Jake comes up to you one last time, to check that all was well. As he approaches, he notices how you and lo'ak were cuddling. "I imagined he was with you," Jake said softly. Leaning in to give you a kiss on the tip of your nose. "Well… you know what he's like" you joke. "He's a mama's boy…a cute mama's boy. You know…" jake pauses, thinking about how he was going to say what he was going to say next. "Eventually you'll have to let him grow up…kids his age are more independent and " jake is interrupted, when one of your hands goes to his mouth. "Shhh shut up…when it's time, he'll grow up on his own…in the meantime we'll be here for him." you speak, slapping jake's arm playfully. There was a small silence, until you see a playful smile on Jake's lips.
"Babe…why don't you leave lo'ak here quietly and come sleep with me and neytiri" jake takes your hand and gives it a kiss on the palm, causing you to giggle and blush. "Together…the three of us" jake jokes biting your fingers. You laugh softly, trying not to wake lo'ak. You think about it for a moment, and the truth is you missed sleeping with jake and neytiri. Lo'ak consumed too much of your time, so you accept Jake's offer. You carefully settled lo'ak down, making sure he was comfortable.
Jake was behind you, excited. You could hear his tail bump between his legs. He held your hand, walking quickly to the hammock that you and Jake and Neytiri usually shared. Neytiri watches as you and Jake approach. She gets excited, it had been about 3 months since you last slept with them. Reaching out her hand, she takes yours. You climb in easily, feeling Jake hold you around the waist. Both of you settling into the hammock. You were in the middle of them, neytiri hugged you. While Jake hugs you from behind, burying his head in the back of your neck. "I missed this," says neytiri, enjoying the comfort. A couple of minutes later, lo'ak's crying began to be heard. You lift your head from neytiri's chest, beginning to stand up. When you feel her hug you tighter. "No… Y/N you must let him calm down himself" neytiri says. "Y/N, neytiri is right" jake speaks.
"He ate, he's clean and he's comfortable. He can be alone" says neytiri, she was serious. You knew you had to leave him alone, but lo'ak was your baby. Your only baby. "If he doesn't stop crying in five minutes, I'll go check on him. You stay here and rest," Jake speaks, kissing your shoulder. Your partner had you in his arms, if it wasn't for that you'd be at lo'ak's side by now. And as if by magic, lo'ak stopped crying. Jake got out of the hammock and checked from afar. Seeing how the child had already fallen asleep.
"See…it's all right," says Neytiri, hugging you even tighter. You snuggle closer to her. As you feel jake settle in behind you. Hugging you both. This parenting thing was all new to all of you.

Author’s Note: thank you guys for always being so patient with me. i love yall too the moon and back <3 happy holidays and a happy new year! also, I’ve realised that I unintentionally decided that Kiri is not involved in this series (i dunno honestly, it’s just occuring to me that I’ve never really mentioned her before and it feels difficult to incorporate her at this point i suppose). It seems like we (reader) have taken her place in this au in regards to being jakes adopted ‘babygirl’ (nothing else though—no superpowers or anything loool).
Synopsis: After telling Ralak that he's going to be a father, the reality dawns on you that you need to break the news to your own father.

This pregnancy shouldn’t be much of a surprise to you, honestly. How could you not be? After such a breeding it would be a miracle if you weren’t pregnant. Yet the news wasn’t quite sinking in, even when Tsireya looked at you with wide eyes and spelled it out for you. But now that you’re walking towards the tsahìk, you’re faced with reality and it begins to sink in as you count each step you take.
Forty-two…
The words that rolled off the tarsem’s tongue echo in your skull.
Forty-three…
Etching themselves into the bone, leaving you with no space to deny the truth.
Forty-four…
“You are with child.”
The ringing in your ears stops as your vision refocuses on the stone cold expression of the Tsahìk. Her voice is unfaltering and clear as it delivers the news to your ears a second time. Bowing to the taller woman, you sweep three fingers away from your forehead and turn your heel to walk away. But before you can take two steps she announces something that makes your ears stand tall.
“A boy.”
Her two harshly spoken words strike through your chest, a sinking feeling now brewing in the pit of your stomach. You stop dead in your tracks and lift your head that was once tilted down to your feet. Things become even more real, having you force down a wad of your spit to keep your vision from splitting again. You’re barely able to use your voice—your mouth partially open and your tongue rolling from the churn of your tummy.
“Thank you, Ronal.” You manage to squeak a decibel or two over a whisper, dropping your head again to lock your stare to your feet before fleeing the now-crowding scene. You overhear the people murmuring the news as you scurry away to your marui pod.
‘The forest girl expects the firstborn of the village’s best warrior’;
‘She won’t make it out alive!’;
‘Did you hear? She will birth the first of a new kind. A kind with demon blood’.
If your legs could go any quicker, they would.
A child grows in your womb now. A child for the man you love—Ralak. The man who deserves it most. You’re scared and excited all at once. Proud to bear a son for such a notable and fearsome man. But afraid of how your family will take to the news.
This was your first month of being a mated pair, and you’ve already succumbed to your most primordial instinct to mate. And with what everyone is already whispering, you’re scared of much more than that. Is what they say true? Is this a risky thing? Will he be teased for being different? Will he be rejected from the clan?
Does Ralak… even want this?
You both hadn’t even sat down and spoken about the possible consequences of such a cosmic event—your synced cycles. What if he hadn’t meant all the things he said? Or if he really just couldn’t prevent the things that he did during his rut? How would he react if that were the case?
Your mind is running at a hundred clicks an hour and your nerves are wringing your stomach that it takes the hot sand spilling through the cracks of your toes to make you realise that you’re already home.
And there he is, in all his glory.
Doing nothing other than sharpening his damn spear. Sitting on his knees, leaned back with his flexed abs and gathered brows, concentrating on his task—blissfully unaware of the gossip spreading throughout the clan. The sight brings serenity to the white noise in your head, leaving nothing but the crash of the waves and the splash of the ilus off in the distance. I
Ralak’s ears twitch as he senses your presence, but he remains focused on the stroke of his whetstone against the blade. He can feel your apprehension from where he sits, and he can already tell what you’re here for. Yet he chooses to keep his appearance no less than stoic, but not enough to be intimidating.
“Tanhì.” He hums low enough that you strain to hear him.
“I need to speak with you.” You utter, wetting your dry lips with a quick swipe of your tongue. You stand there fidgeting with your fingers as you await a reply from your husband. It’s almost mortifying how silent this man can actually be. You see the slight tilt of his head and his ear perk up to listen closely. Taking this as your cue to speak, you try to find the words to say.
How do I say this?
Ralak is a simple man, perhaps it’s better to give it to him straight. An easy, ‘I carry your unborn son’, would do, right? You begin to gnaw on the dry skin on your bottom lip as you think. But his silence is really getting to you today. How can he sit there so… unbothered? Not even a glance thrown your way or an eyelash batted. Maybe you should just spit it out — ‘you got me pregnant’.
“Hm?” He lets out a muffled grunt, swiping the whetstone against the spearhead. It sounds innocent. Like he’s just immersed in a task and couldn’t quite bring himself to completely stop.
“We no longer need to prepare for my heat.” You blurt out, not even knowing where the words came from. You witness his spine straighten and him quickly stilling his movements.
Little did you know his heart gallops at the speed of a direhorse, thumping wildly between his ribs as he prepares himself to finally hear you utter the words. Oh, how he had been waiting for your sweet voice to sing the news. But he realises that you seem to need an extra push to say them.
“And why is that?” Ralak husks, still unmoving.
You wait for him to turn around. To look your way. Something.
But… nothing.
“I’m pregnant.”
Ralaks heart skips a beat and his breath catches in his throat. A grin spreads from ear to ear, so strong and wide that if you were really paying attention you would have caught the way his ears stand at full height.
But you were too busy fighting the bubble of the blood in your thumping heart, trying to keep your frustration to a minimum. You had expected more. For him to turn around, at the very least. All you could hear was the da-dump and the silence between you two. Until you couldn’t take it anymore.
Perhaps it’s all the hushed chatter from earlier or maybe it’s just the new surge of hormones and out-of-whack pheromones but you can’t help the burn of your eyes as they fill with tears.
“So w-what? Not even a glance my way? You knock me up and have nothing to s-say for it?”  You choke back your heated tears of frustration, Ralak now huffing a vehement sigh. “You’re not even surprised, or—” Your blubbering is cut short by your husband's quick movement.
Ralak instantaneously brings himself to his feet and storms over to you, towering over your petite frame. Now he’s peering down at you, dark, smouldering eyes holding the most intimidating gaze with you as he closes the distance between your bodies. He’s still damp from seeing to the ilus this morning that when your chest touches his cold, bare stomach, it hardens your nipples into stiff peaks.
“Surprised?” He rasps, his large hand flying to your lower stomach, gently pressing into it. Heaving shoulders slowing as he steadies his breathing, Ralak lowers his head to brush his lips against the shell of your ear—
“Do you not think I had every intention of putting this baby inside of you?”
Hearing this spoken in such an assertive tone sends shivers up your spine—Ralak knows exactly how to handle you and your… sensitivity. He always has. Your tail sways uncontrollably behind you, earning a well concealed smirk from the giant before you. It’s always been one of his favourite parts of you, but now—oh, now he has a new favourite part of you.
Your soon-to-be swelling belly.
“I have known.” He admits through a whisper, smoothing his entire palm over your budding womb, planting a quick kiss on your temple. “Your scent… it has changed, tanhì.”
“What?” You whisper, almost pulling away from his tender touches to look at him. “And you didn’t say anything?”
“I wanted to hear you say it. I have been waiting… to hear you say it.” He’s the one to pull away this time, looking you deeply in the eyes. His free hand raises, using his thumb to wipe away a tear seeping from the corner of your eye. “Please. Do not cry.”
You don’t even know what to say. Yet again, Ralak leaves you speechless—with trembling lips and a swelling throat.
“And you are actually eating the payoang niktsyey [fish wraps] I cook.”
“What?” You snort, letting loose a sudden, nasally giggle. You drop your smile and try to fix a serious expression on your face. “What do you mean? I always eat your payoang niktsyey [fish wraps]”
Ralak laughs, his three fingers tucking hair behind your ear, “I see you throw them to the ilus, tanhì. I am no fool.”
You laugh again, snotty-nosed and teary-eyed, sniffling when the uncontrollable giggling fit ends. “It seems that our son enjoys your cooking, ‘lak.” You bubbler with a wobbly smile, blinking harshly to clear your vision.
Ralaks eyes bulge as they frantically search yours—a beaming smile spreading across his lips, his pointed teeth on full display. “Son?” He exhales softly, his left brow bone jumping ever so slightly.
All you can do is nod, letting your wobbly smile morph into a grin. The tears come back like they never left, twice as much and even hotter than before. You swear you see Ralaks eyes gloss over too, glistering in the sunlight.
Ralak sinks to his knees, coming face to face with your soft tummy.
“My prrnen [baby]. My ‘evengan [son; boy child]. It is your sempu [daddy].” He whispers, heated lips slightly pressed against your silken skin. Chin tucked to your chest, you watch in awe, straining to listen to his hushed whispers. “I have wanted you for so long.”
Hearing that—oh, how hearing that makes you feel. You feel warm inside, your heart so full all your earlier fears melt away. Ralak looks up at you, azure blue eyes filled with nothing but love and adoration—gratitude and admiration.
“My sweet tanhì. You have made me the man I have always wanted to be.” He croons at you, planting a long, soft kiss on your stomach—eyes still locked with yours. “And I thank you for that. Nìt’iluke [forever; never-endingly]”
And just like that, the butterflies you felt when you first laid eyes on this man come rushing in, flapping their wings at full force.
“I am your mate.” You sputter out a little, tiny sob. “It’s what I-I am supposed to do.”
Ralak stands up, holding eye contact with you the entire way.
“You owe me nothing. It is an honour that you carry my unborn, y/n.” His hand leaves your stomach to grasp your hand, intertwining his thickset fingers with yours. “You will be a nawm [great] mother.”
“And you will be the best father.” You choke back your sobs, struggling to get your words out. A comfortable silence passes, where you both immerse yourselves into one another’s touch. Until Ralak witnesses your expression morph into something of worry.
“What is it?” He asks in a hushed voice, keeping his tone calm and cool.
“Speaking of… fathers.” The column of your throat undulates when you gulp hard, “How will I tell mine?”
Ralak swallows, too. The thought had crossed his mind a few times over the past week. He saw the answer as simple – tell him. Ralak holds a lot of respect for your father, looking up at him as a superior given his status and skill as a warrior. And although he’s slightly intimidated by your father, Ralak sees this respect as mutual—therefore, it should be returned. Surely, this will go smoothly if you both remain polite.
Right?
“We tell him. Together.” Ralak grasps your hand once more, giving it a gentle, reassuring squeeze, his heavy accent shining through now that he’s high on emotions, “I keep you safe. Both of you.”
——
Both you and Ralak make your way down the shore towards the webbing of overlapping mangrove roots. Though you insisted on breaking the news to your family by yourself, he was adamant that he accompanies you. You couldn’t bear the thought of your father lashing out on Ralak, especially in front of the others. You tried to explain that to him, but he simply shook his head and tightened the clasp of his saya (knife sheath) on his hip.
You make the trek by foot, wanting a little more time to think about what you were going to say, and he ensured to stay right behind you. Quite literally—looming behind you like some sort of bodyguard. Every na’vi you pass are quick to avert their gaze elsewhere when they see the giant you have as a shadow. They tried not to look to begin with, but it was a rare sight to see you two so close together among the clan.
Their hushed whispers are kept to an absolute minimum but Ralak hears them nonetheless. It doesn’t bother him. Not anymore, at least. It used to bother him before he had met you—hearing the chatter of the gossip about his voluntary six year celibacy despite being the chief’s right hand man. And now that the murmurs entail nothing but his relationship with you, he could care less.
But then he hears the indistinct mumble about the babe budding in your womb. It’s something along the lines of ‘it being some demon hybrid’. The comment alone has Ralak screeching to a halt, his head snapping in the direction of a stocky, young warrior in training. One that Tonowari had relentlessly urged Ralak to teach until he begrudgingly gave him a couple combat lessons.
Ralak’s eyes narrow and sharpen, snapping down to shoot a threatening leer down at him. That's all it took for the stumpy na’vi to drop his head in shame and scurry away with his younger companions.
Sensing that Ralak is no longer on your tail, you turn around, half-expecting him to be five steps behind. Instead, he’s right where you left him, with a reassuring smile and an extended hand gesturing you to ‘continue’. You return a light hearted smile and spin around, taking another step towards your family marui.
——
“To what do we owe the visit?” Neteyam smiles as he greets you at the marui door, arms splayed out for a hug. You smile and slump into your brother, allowing him to envelope you in a warm embrace. “We haven’t seen you in what feels like weeks, sis.”
“Because we haven’t.” Lo’ak adds, lurking behind his bigger brother, arms crossed over his chest with a grin on his face.
“Hey Lo’.” You say in a low voice, smiling at him as you let go of your big brother. Ralak silently stands at the marui door, head awkwardly tilted in an attempt to fit himself in such a tight space.
“Hey, sissy.” Lo’ak throws an arm around your neck, patting your shoulder a few times as he walks you further inside and away from Ralak. “What’s up with the shadow?” He doesn’t even try to quieten his voice as he nudges his chin in your husband's direction.
You force a little laugh, unwrapping his arm from around your neck so you can inch away back to your ‘shadow’. You back up until you bump into his solid build, making a muffled thump when you collide. He steadies you by the shoulders, lidded eyes flicking down to check that you’re okay. He can sense your nervousness.
“I–we… have something to tell you guys.” You begin, shifting your weight from one foot to the other. “Where’s everyone else?”
Lo’ak’s eyes squint, brows furrowing as the gears in his brain grind twice as fast to figure out what you could possibly be calling a family meeting for. “No fucking way. Already?” He blurts out when he finally puts two and two together. Your eyes widen when they dart over to him, catching sight of the shit eating grin plastered to his face.
Fuck, is this skxawng going to spoil it for me? You think to yourself, apparently loud enough for Ralak to hear. He squeezes your shoulders before sliding his hands down the full length of your arms and letting go. “Mawey [calm].” He breathes, his head still hanging low. You look behind you, tilting your head up to meet his comforting gaze.
“Hey, babygirl.” Jake’s voice snaps your attention back down, having you look your father in the eye. His smile is as wide as his arms as he approaches you for a hug.
“Dad. Hey.” You whisper, returning the hug and snuggling into his chest. You bask in the moment, lingering onto how things are now—before you drop the bomb on him.
“I missed ya.” Jake chuckles, rubbing your back. He finally lifts his head and sees your ‘shadow’ hovering a little closer than needed. “Jeez, let her breathe, boy. She’s just huggin’ her old man.” Ralak keeps his head hung and takes a small but noticeable step back. Jake gives you a quick peck on the head as he begins to pull away. “What have ya’ been up—”
Jake cuts himself short, leaning back in to smell your hair. His eyebrows gather when he recognizes the familiar scent. Neytiri has smelled similarly a few times before. Jake grinds his teeth, scrunched brows and narrow eyes giving away his current state of mind. His hands slide down your arms, gripping then as he looks you dead in the eye. “Y/n. You got somethin’ to tell me?”
“Dad–” You swallow down the knot in your throat, already getting choked up.
Jake's lips purse into a thin line as his death-stare immediately averts to Ralak. And for what feels like an eternity, nothing but silence fills the room. The tension in the air is almost suffocating. Jakes eyeing Ralak down whilst Ralaks stare is locked on the way he’s holding you.
You glance over at your brothers. One’s obviously got it figured out, arms crossed, shaking his head with a smug look on his face. And one is completely clueless—poor thing. You look back at your father who is now seething, leer averted back to you as he exerts all his energy into being patient.
“What’s going on? Guys?” Neteyam breaks the silence with a worried tone to his voice. His eyes bounce from person to person, until they land on his brother.
“He knocked her up.” Lo’aks whispers harshly, not even trying to be discreet. Neteyams brows raise and now he is, too, staring at you. You feel all the blood drain from your face and suddenly you’re extremely light in the head.
Mortified is an understatement.
Everyone is clearly waiting for you to confirm it. But you’re having such a difficult time saying the two silly little words. The pressure is on now, you could even see Ralak straining to hold his tongue. You finally muster up a cowardly nod, and immediately your fathers grip intensifies, squeezing your arms firm and tight. He’s looking down at you with eyes of disbelief and somewhat disappointment, frantically searching yours to see if this is really the truth. You let loose a low hiss, wincing when you feel the pinch of his grip.
Not even another second passes when you hear the slap of your husband’s large hands grabbing ahold of your father’s wrists.
“She is pregnant.”
A deep, but low growl rips from Ralaks chest. In other words, ‘never lay your hands on a pregnant woman’. Ralak dwarfs Jake as he inches in a little closer, grasping his wrists just firm enough to send this message.
“Yeah. Got it, bud.” Jake returns a growl through his teeth and tightened lips. He shifts his position slightly, eyes flicking down to acknowledge what his son in law is trying to get across. Nonetheless, Jake stands his ground. “Get your hands off me.”
Ralak tries to regain his composure, but his protective instincts have just about gone haywire. The urge to protect has never been so intense before. It’s like his soul knows that there’s just more to protect.
More at stake.
Ralak looks down at your fathers hands once more, silently making his point clear. He holds eye contact with Toruk makto whilst he remains unmoving.
“Lak…” You squeak a warning to your husband, who only flutters his jaw as a response. Lo’ak and Neteyam are on edge, both concerned that their father has a grip on you, but even more so that Ralak has a grip on their father. They watch intently, trying to decipher if and when they need to intervene.
To everyone’s surprise, Jake exhales harshly through his nose and gently pulls away from you, but wrenches his wrists away from Ralak’s grasp. “Sorry, kid.” Jake spits an apology, readjusting his position to be directly in front of Ralak. “Care to explain how this happened so damn quick?”
“Dad!” You shout in disbelief, wedging yourself back in between the two.
“You know what? Don’t even answer that.” Jake snaps.
“You know you are really no one to talk! Where’s mom? Mom!” You go on the tips of your toes, leaning from side to side to look for her behind both the two male na’vi.
“‘xcuse me?” Jake purposely blocks your view by bobbing his head wherever yours goes. “I am still your father and you will not speak to me that—” Jake steps to the left to avoid Ralak and walk towards you. Ralak quickly adjusts himself to be the wall between you and your father, not allowing Jake the chance to even finish his sentence. Ralak is now looking down at Jake with a stoic expression, trying his best not to come off intimidating or challenging in any way.
All to no avail.
“You got a problem with me, boy?” Jake grumbles through his clenched jaw, getting in Ralaks face now.
“No. Only keeping my word, sir.” Ralak simply responds.
Jakes brought back to the very moment he made Ralak give him his word. His word that he’d never let a thing happen to his baby girl. The night you completed your iknimaya. The night he granted Ralak the permission to mate with you.
The night Ralak took your virginity.
Jake stalls for a few seconds, taken aback by Ralaks behaviour but a little impressed at the same time. Jake's expression softens upon realizing that Ralak is just protecting his mate—just as he does Neytiri, especially during her pregnancies.
But there’s no way in hell that Jake will be the first one to back down here.
“Mom!” You call for her once more, hoping that she’ll swoop in and save the day.
Neytiri rushes in, hand on her hip where she keeps her dagger sheathed—worry and concern etched into her features. She analyses the situation, taking in the scene of her own mate standing face to face with yours. She glances over at you, seeing the panic in your eyes and the hand on your stomach that you didn’t even know you had placed there. Slowly walking up to the two male na’vi, she places a firm hand on her mates chest, pushing him away from Ralak. “Ma’ Jake. What is happening here?”
Jake’s pressing his lips firmly together, not wanting to say the words. He shakes his head a little, huffing through his nostrils before placing a hand on his hip. His other hand extends in your direction, as if he were pointing out the obvious. Yet he remains choked up and speechless, his hand falling to his thigh as he gives up.
Finally, he mumbles, “Go on. Tell her.”
Neytiri looks back at you, eyes trailing back down to your hand that’s mindlessly resting on your stomach as she awaits for your answer. You feel the burn of her eyes, yanking away your hand when it becomes too much. Being the daughter of Mo’at, a tsahik, Neytiri needed nothing more than a quick glance and sniff to know what’s going on. “Is this true?”
“Yes, mom. It is true. I am.” You say in a defeated tone of voice. Ralak shifts himself, settling close beside you now rather than in front of you. He always had an even greater respect for your mother.
Neytiri’s expression only grows softer, until there's no trace of concern left in her face. Her smile is downturned but her eyes are bright, glistening with joy as she pulls you in for a warm embrace.
“It is a blessing from Eywa, my child.”
She pulls away from you, now looking over to Ralak. Neytiri lays a gentle hand on Ralaks upper bicep, “Seykxel sì nitram [congratulations] .” Ralak signs ‘I see you’ to his mother in law, exchanging a light hearted smile with her.
It was no secret that Neytiri longed to be a grandmother. Her days of children are over now, although she was expecting her eldest, Neteyam, to give her a grandchild first. But Ralak — Ralak is a remarkable, mighty warrior and hunter. The olo’eyktans right hand man, and undoubtedly the best fisherman in the village.
In fact, Ralak was one of the first people Neytiri took a liking to after she adjusted to the way of water. She always felt that he was a good suitor for her daughter.
“Are you kiddin’ me? It’s barely been two months!” Jake scoffs, shaking his head.
“And a day for us, Jake.” Neytiri tries her best to keep a calm, but firm voice. “They are a mated pair, they are having a family now. It is Eywa’s will.”
Jake quiets himself, reflecting on his harsh ways. He sighs, loudly. His eyes finally glance down to what everyone in the room has been looking at, now staring at your protective hand that mindlessly lay over your womb once again. He grits his teeth, averting his stare to the ground, eyeing the charred wood of the fire pit. His tongue clicks as he parts his lips, muttering—
“I know… I know, alright? She’s just—” He looks up at Neytiri, then Ralak, and then you. “She’s my babygirl.”
It’s his way of saying, ‘I just want to protect my family.’
“Dad. I am but—but I’m not your baby anymore. I’m not a kid.” You croak, finding it hard to hold eye contact with him. “Your grandson is the new baby of this family.”
Jake tries to fight the way his eyebrows scrunch together, it was like hearing about the news of his firstborn son all over again. He exhales slowly, nodding his head and extending his arms to hold you. His warmth envelopes you completely, leaving no room for any cold or harsh thoughts and feelings to linger.
“You keep ‘em safe.” Jake's chin presses into the crown of your head as he mutters the words to Ralak. Ralak had always had a hard time understanding Jake's native slang, but this he understood— loud and clear.
“Always.” Ralak answers firmly.
Your safety has been, is and will always be his number one priority.
Jake nods once, squeezing you a little tighter before letting go fully. “Seykxel sì nitram [congratulations], you two.”
“Thank you, dad.” You smile whilst Ralak bows his head. Neteyam and Lo’ak finally come over for their hugs, making a comment of their own as they release you from their grasps.
“I’m gonna teach him everything I know.” Lo’aks grin is unnerving and a little sinister, giving away the trouble that he’s already trying to get your son into.
“Please don’t.” You joke back with your brother, even though you’re being dead serious.
Neteyam jabs an elbow into his brother's rib cage, disciplining him for his mischief. “Agh — do not worry, Uncle TeTe will keep him in check.”
“Well, that’s a relief.” You say softly with a smile on your face, “‘Uncle TeTe’. I like that.”
“Hey, don’t forget about ‘Uncle Lo’Lo’.” Lo’ak chimes in.
“Eh. Doesn’t have the same ring to it, you know? What do you think, lak?” You jester, looking up at him to be met with a slight smirk.
“Very… hiyìk [strange; funny].” Ralaks smirk pulls at his lips a little more. “But, at least it is not ‘ak’-ak’.”
You swear you hear a little chuckle from everyone in the room. All except Lo’ak, who is staring at Ralak with a deadpan expression, arms crossed defensively over his chest. It feels like an eternity passes until Lo’ak finally booms with laughter, extending his arm out to Ralak, who gaily reciprocates and meets Lo’aks’ with a smack.
“I like this bodyguard of yours, y/n. He actually has a sense of humour.”
You let loose a scoff and roll your eyes, about ready to wrap this whole thing up and lie down in bed. It’s seemingly obvious, seeing that everyone is giving you space as they take note of your restless body language and bowed shoulders.
“If you are tired, you should rest.” Neytiri advises, just as you feel Ralaks hand tuck under your arm to support your weight. “Your body is working hard right now.”
“Yeah, mom. I think I need to lie down for a little.” You mumble, leaning into your mate a little more.
Your family practically ushers you out, encouraging you to get some rest and to get off your feet. Ralak walks close to you on the way home, keeping with the pace you set to the tee — only intervening with a hand to your hip when necessary.
And when you finally slump into bed, your eyelids flutter shut before Ralak can settle himself beside you.
——smut warning——
You rouse to Ralak drawing the curtain of your marui, blocking out the orange hue of the last eclipse. It dawns on you that you’ve slept out most of the day. You didn’t even realise you were so tired to begin with.
“You should have woken me earlier. I slept out the day.” You mumble, sitting up in bed and lightly kicking off the sheets.
Ralak turns around, surprised that you’re awake. He curses himself under his breath; he was hoping to keep you sleeping by drawing the curtains but instead he did the opposite.
“You needed to rest.” He says, making his way over to sit on the edge of the bed. “You have been more tired recently.”
“Yeah?” You snort, “…and what else have I been, sir know-it-all?”
Ralak chuckles, his eyes falling to your stomach. “…a little more hungry.”
You smile a little, remembering his fish wrap comment from earlier.
But then you witness his half-lidded eyes glaze over with something of… wanton. It takes a second to realise that they’re no longer staring at your belly. They’re staring at your tewng [loincloth]. More specifically, the mound imprinting it.
It’s the way your pussy is being so tightly squeezed by the thin cloth covering it. It’s the one thing that Ralak can’t help himself from indulging in admiring. Then his eyes snap away,  unexpectedly meeting yours. The stare he’s giving you has your thighs rubbing together and your lower tummy tingling.
“…a little more tempting.” His voice is thick like honey, laced with lust and arousal.
In every way. From the way you fill out your top more, to your scent—you’re becoming more
irresistible the farther along you progress. Your heart beats a little harder between your ribs as you swallow the saliva pooling in your mouth. His lecherous gaze is fixed, blue eyes piercing into yours. It’s been too long since he’s been inside you that it aches.
But he’s been patient.
Especially since the day he figured out you were pregnant. With the way you smelt he found it hard to keep his distance at times but nonetheless, he did it. But the truth is that you haven’t had penetrative sex since your cycles synced.
To be clear, he took care of you just fine.
Tending to your needs whenever you initiated intimacy with him but he never took it further than his fingers and mouth. After seeing you so battered by his own hands he found it hard to put you in a position that could garner a similar result again.
For a while, he lost trust within himself.
That he no longer had the capacity for self control. Not only did he feel like he didn’t deserve it, but he never expected you to return the pleasure either. He had already taken you on his own terms. Repeatedly.
Ruthlessly.
So when you ate one to many of his payoang niktsyey [fish wraps] — when the new earthiness of your scent wafted past his nose — he knew. He knew it stuck. He knew your womb swelled with his child as each day passed. And the urge to protect only swelled with it.
He became even more gentle with you. Handling you with care when your skin softened and your hips became a little fuller. Ensuring he had excess when he cooked. Weaving an extra thick blanket for you to sleep with when he was off on duty with Tonowari.
It ached most when he’d come home just to see it kicked off onto the floor, with you on your stomach and your leg propped up just right. Your loincloth would always shift to the side, just enough to expose plump folds that innocently peek through the seam of the thin fabric. Fuck, it more than ached. It made him tender. Throbbing in his own tewng.
Just like now.
He dares not to break the steady, intent stare. Or else he may steal another glance at the softness between your thighs. But he can see in your eyes that you feel similarly. You always give him that look before doing something ‘troublesome’. You break eye contact first, your eyes now landing on his tewng.
Fuck.
Your eyes widen a little when you catch sight of the growing, thick bulge in his loincloth. Your gaze locks onto it, taking in every detail. From the thick stripes on his thighs to the way the twine of his loincloth is cutting into his v-lines. You can even see the outline of the crown of his cock.
His stomach rises and falls from his uneven breathing, and his abs pop out one by one as he leans further back—supporting his torso with his arms behind his back. He was never shy about his body, and he certainly isn’t now.
“Then, why do you resist me?” Though it's a question, it doesn’t sound like one when the words drip off your lips. Your voice is soft and feigned with innocence, yet you're shuffling to get on all fours to crawl over to him. You truthfully don’t care for the answer, you knew that it would be the same old song—‘he doesn’t want to hurt you’.
“I hurt you.” He says coldly—simply, glancing at the fading scar on your shoulder as you settle yourself on your knees beside him. He watches as your hand finds purchase on his knee, and slides up his thigh. “And now that you are with child… I—haah”. He’s cut short with a shaky breath and slight jolt when you cup his bulge with a bit of force. He looks down at your hand, dainty and slender, barely grasping half of what’s under his tewng.
“You worry about me too much.” You mumble, more focused on the speed at which his cock pulses at. “Yet still, never yourself.” You feel around, sliding your palm up and down its length, earning a rough exhale from Ralak in return. His lidded eyes dart back over to you, taking in the sight of you almost bent over his lap.
“That so?” His voice is thick and gruff.
“Mhm. ‘m always telling you that, aren’t I?” You hum softly, slowly moving your hand further down between his legs, firmly cupping his balls. They’re heavy in your hand, hot to the touch and—
Eywa.
“They’re swollen.” You whisper breathlessly, your glossy eyes meeting him with concern. They dart back to his crotch, your hand now fumbling with the twine of his tewng, hurriedly trying to unravel the knot to get the suffocating fabric off him.
“‘tis fine.” He winces as he spits out the words, watching you pinch him a little while struggling with the taut material.
Ignoring his words, you continue with your task, a bit more gently now. And when the knot comes undone, the twine falls off his hips and the tewng loosens with it. You tug it off him and see that they’re not only puffed up but also darker in colour. They’re firm and pulled close to his body, perfectly round and stripes well-defined.
Shamefully, it turns you on to see his balls so full.
Just the thought of them being so swollen with his seed that they’re aching and throbbing to empty themselves inside you—fuck, it’s making your teeth grit. You sit back into the dip of your feet and stare as your breathing becomes heavier. The more you look the more you realize that they’re pulling tighter and tighter towards his core. You look up at him, a little surprised. Your arousal is etched into your features and it’s more than obvious in your body language. You want to know how they’d feel in your mouth. How they’d taste.
If they’d even fit.
Without another passing second you bend over his lap, tail high in the air and legs spread—the overpowering scent of your arousal filling the air. You shove your face between his thighs, inhaling deeply his musky scent. You let out a breath of desire, one that sounds nothing short of pleasure and satisfaction. He smells too good. You can’t help yourself but give his firm balls a quick, kitten lick. The giant above you holds back his chuckle, finding your behaviour cute and honestly a little amusing. Feeling like the butt of a joke, you firmly grasp his length and tug it upwards, causing his balls to pull even tighter.
“Y/n.” He hisses your name, adjusting his legs to rid himself of the strained feeling. You wet your lips with a quick swipe of your tongue, and press your cheek against them. They’re hot—heating up a degree higher the more you tease him. Just as you pull your cheek away and manage to fit one of them into your mouth, his hand flies to the back of your head, balling your hair into his fist.
“You need not to—” your tail curls and the tip of it tickles against his chest, “—haah…do this.” Ralak huffs out a sigh of frustration it seems, looking down at you with somewhat of a predatory leer. You pop off with a pwah, catching your breath and turning your head.
You both share an intent stare with one another, one that feels more challenging than anything. He’s insistent that he’s undeserving of this, and you’re insistent that he must be taken care of. His grip loosens on your hair, until he lets you go completely.
“Shh…shh.” You shush him, eyes narrowing as they remain locked onto him. You slowly slide off the bed one leg at a time, sinking to your knees and settling yourself between his legs—now looking up at him with doe-eyes. The sight before you has your heart palpitating, just like the sight of your face so close to his cock has his jaw clenching.
Ralak quiets himself by locking his jaw, waiting patiently to see how this unfolds. It’s the first he’s seen you in this position, on your knees, between his. His cock twitches in excitement as clear, thick beads of precum begin to roll down its length. You swallow thickly at the sight, wrapping your dainty fingers around its girth to pull it close to your flushed lips.
Ralaks ears flutter and his eyelids grow heavy, his chest heaving as he shifts his weight to the palms of his hands—sitting up.
You open your mouth, strings of your saliva connecting your lips together. They break when you lower your head, taking the mushroomy, glistening head of his cock into your mouth. It’s mostly sweet, and a little salty too. The corners of your mouth sting as you accommodate his thickness, and you struggle to open your jaw wide enough to take him further into your mouth.
His head dips forward, eyes slamming shut when he feels your wet, warm tongue press against the underside of his cockhead. His hand flies to your head again, gently cupping the back of your skull as he lets out a strained breath.
Muffled noises vibrate through your nose as you swipe your tongue side to side against his head. It throbs against your tongue each time it hits that sensitive spot right down the middle. You suckle and swipe at the same time, using your hands to pump the rest of his length until you're grunting and snorting for air. You come up, gasping to fill your lungs.
His hand quickly slides from the back of your head to cup the swell of your cheek. His calloused thumb swipes at a bead of saliva rolling down your chin and pops it back into your mouth. “What are you doing, my tanhì?” He whispers the rhetorical question, ensuring his voice is calm and gentle. It sounds as if he’s given up—given in.
Without answering, you take him back into your mouth, locking your jaw once you open it as wide as you possibly can. You stick your tongue out as far as it’ll go and look up at him with eyes that begin to water. He looks down at you with a concerned expression, which morphs into one of astonishment. Your head goes lower and lower, taking inch after inch of his cock down your throat.
The tears in your eyes finally spill over, and your nose begins to burn. Half of his length is down your throat and you can barely breathe, but the more his face grimaces from how good you feel around him, the more of him you urge yourself to take. You hold onto his hips, using them as leverage to shove more of him down your throat.
“Hnng. Easy.” He groans roughly, pushing back against your shoves. “You are pregnaaah—mmn, you will make yourself sick, tanhì.”
Lifting your hand from his hip, you smack away his hand and take him full hilt, his cock hitting the back of your throat, making it bulge. You stop for a second, slowly inhaling through your nose to focus on not gagging. You try moving the back of your tongue, slowly stroking the rest of his length with your hand.
“Ah, shit.” He exhales shakily, his eyes rolling back before squeezing shut. He looks focused, like he’s concentrating on not cumming down your throat right then and there. Lips parted slightly, each breath he takes becomes louder and more raggedy. His thigh muscles tense up and his legs spread a little more, his hand finding its own way to the base of your kuru.
Chest swelling with pride, you begin to bob your head and coat his cock with your sticky spit. The more slippery it gets the harder he has to fight back his choked grunts. The grip he has on your kuru is tightening, as if he were preparing himself to pry you off his cock before he fills your throat.
Suddenly, his head sinks back and his jaw clenches—hard. You could feel it. The way his cock twitches. The way it’s heating up. The way it’s swelling in your mouth. Gurgled noises are escaping past his lips, and he purses them tightly together in attempts to keep himself quiet. His core flexes, and his hips start to stutter. His whole body jolts from how sensitive he’s getting, and finally he thrusts into your mouth, the pointed tip of his cock slamming into the back of your throat.
You silently gag as his hips stammer into you and he’s fucking your throat in frenzied little movements. He’s trying his hardest to be as gentle as he possibly can.m, but your throat is so soft and tight around him. You swallow around his cock as you try to take a breath and suddenly his erratic movements still.
“Y/n.” He lets loose a dying groan as his head slumps forward and his inebriated eyes struggle to open.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
His voice is gravelly and thick with restraint. You love to see him like this—hear him like this. You can’t help the wandering hand that’s making its way down to your soaked tewng. You try to touch yourself through the fabric, but have a hard time finding your clit with it covered like this. Exasperated, you shove your hand under the band of your loincloth and use all four fingers to rub sloppy circles into your puffy clit.
Ralak is too immersed into this to even take note of your desperation. He’s too desperate himself. And if you don’t stop now, he really won’t be able to help himself. He begins tugging you by your queue, trying to pry you away from him. With each hasty swipe of your fingers you suck a little harder, as if you were trying to match your pleasure with your mates’. He pulls at your kuru even harder but you’re unbudging, firmly holding the base of his cock as you relentlessly suckle on the most sensitive part of his tip.
“Stop.” He growls out of breath, finally looking down just to be tipped close to the edge by the sight below him. You look dumb and fucked out with his cock stuffed in your mouth, broken moans vibrating against his length as you franticly touch yourself.
Finally, he yanks you off him with one swift, hard tug, his cock slapping his stomach when it pops out of your mouth. You land on your behind, legs spreading wide open as your fingers work away at your now throbbing clit.
“Why? Can’t handle it?” You taunt him between pants and breathy, hoarse moans. Rather than answering he looks down at you with a cocked brow, kuru still in hand. Both of you stare at one another, shoulders and chests violently heaving as you both pant for air.  He’s raw and pulsing, twitching from the heartbeat in the crown of his cock.
It's suspended mid air, jumping from how insanely aroused he’s left himself. Sticky beads of precum constantly roll down his shaft, one after the next and his balls are throbbing too. You get back on your knees and lunge for his cock again, tongue darting out to have another taste. He pulls you back, his hand still having a firm grasp of your kuru.
“Is this what you are like when you have been bred?” Ralak huffs, a little taken aback by your lewd behaviour. His gaze shifts to your pathetic attempt to make yourself cum, and a smirk spreads across his lips. “So desperate.” Your silence has his brows scrunching together and him yanking your head back so you’re looking up at him. A growl rumbles in his chest as he slowly rises to his feet, bringing you to your knees with him—his hung cock swaying directly in your face.
A smug little smile pulls at your lips when you realise you’re riling him up. You witness his jawbone flutter, his ears laying flat against his skull. He just wants to stuff his cock back down your throat to teach you a lesson. Instead he shoves your face into his crotch, your nose burying itself into the space between his cock and balls. He holds you there for a few seconds, just long enough that when he finally pulls you away you suck in a tiny gasp of air.
Ralak sighs a low, lengthy breath, forcing himself to regain his composure. He can’t understand how such a little thing can be so feisty. To act as if he couldn’t pin you down and take you without a scuffle. Truthfully it only makes him even harder. It only further proves that you are really the woman for him.
Slowly bringing you to your feet, he keeps your face pressed to his body so that your bottom lip drags along his torso as you make your way up. Your hand is still stuffed inside your tewng, slick fingers working hard to find their way back to your clit. With his free hand he grabs a hold of your hip, and steadily backs you up against the wall.
When your back hits the wall, a shaky breath is expelled from your lungs. He lets go of your kuru and rips your hand from your tewng. He then wedges his knee between your legs, putting pressure on your clit, making it flutter uncontrollably. His movements are quick but gentle, filled with purpose and desire. His eyes dart back and forth between yours as he searches them, his face just inches away from yours.
“Answer me, little one.” He whispers into your mouth.
“Yes.” Your answer is breathy and short.
Ralak heaves a heavy sigh.
“I am trying to be gentle…” He speaks the words through gritted teeth, using both hands on your hips to spin you around to face the wall. He lowers his head until his lips graze against the tip of your ear. “…but you make it so hard for me.” He growls, using the perfect amount of force to pin you against the wall with his body. His large hand swiftly moves to your lower stomach, cupping it to act as a protective barrier between the wall and your budding womb.
“No need to be. I can handle you just fine.” Your lips are pressed tight to your teeth, face flush against the smooth surface, making it hard for you to speak clearly. “Pregnant or not.”
Ralak chuckles.
“Is that right?” He speaks in an almost condescending tone, hurriedly tugging down your loincloth just enough to get access to your cunt. Without warning, he bends his knees a little to align your pelvises and then shoves his cock between your slickened, warm folds. “Oh tanhì, you are soaked.” His voice quiets down into a hushed whisper, “All from sucking my cock?”
A mewl splits your lips just as all the blood rushes to your face, staining it a bright pink. Your pussy clenches around nothingness only causing more of your slick to ooze on his cock. Your breath turns shaky, tail swishing wildly behind you. You can’t move even if you wanted to. He’s got you pinned down, quickly reminding you of his strength. And had it not been for his hand on your abdomen you would be completely plastered to the wall and taken on his terms.
“Tsk-tsk…Have you no shame?” Ralak tuts, holding you still. “Or must I give you a lesson on self-restraint?”
Despite his cockiness you can sense the urgency in his body language and in his voice. You can feel it in the way his hips stutter, as his cock slides back and forth between your pussy lips. His own desperation. The desire to be inside you. The need for release.
“Go on then, karyu.” You moan softly, causing his grip on you to loosen for a millisecond. Hearing that name brings a feeling of nostalgia. Of lust. You push back into him, your slippery hole trying to suck him inside with a few quick movements of your pelvis. “But I know you’ve been desperate… desperate to fuck your numeyu.”
“Oh, little one.” His chuckle is dark and depraved, his protective hand stiffening as if he were preparing it for what's to come. “Yet you are trying your hardest to take me inside you.” He licks your ear lobe to tip, whispering, “so cute.”
“Fnawe’tu [coward].” You mutter under your breath, steadying your feet to ground yourself.
Ralaks ears flicker and stand tall, then immediately lay flat to his head—his brow cocking in astonishment. His smirk grows wider, the heat in his chest spreading to his extremities. Now that pushes him over the edge.
“Say that again, numeyu.” He challenges you in a growl, angling his hips so his weeping cockhead prods at your entrance. He ensures not to let the buck of his hips win, keeping you empty and yearning.
“Haah… afraid to take what’s yours.” You purr, rising to the tips of your toes to try sink him inside you. “Fnawe’tu—”
Smack.
The sound of his swollen balls making contact with your puffy clit is almost as loud as your broken gasp. You smile open mouthed as he holds his position balls deep inside you, firmly pressing the tip of his cock into your cervix. He’s grinding his back teeth, digging his chin into your shoulder to quell the rumble of his chest from how tight you’re squeezing his cock.
You whine from the fullness of him stuffed inside your cunt, his unmoving hips sending a clear message of dominance. He’s hunched over you, body weight pinning you mercilessly against the wall, hand over your womb to keep your unborn safe—as promised. Still being gentle enough.
But you want him to lose it.
To fuck into you like he were in rut again. To use your pussy like a fucktoy to satiate his own greed and self pleasure. He deserves that much, for being such a competent and loving man to you. Yet it seems the only way to bring that out of him is to play dirty.
“Fnawe’tu [coward].” You repeat shakily.
Smack.
Another deep and hard thrust into your sloppy cunt. He lets loose the rumble in his chest this time, bearing his canines and putting most of his weight on you now. Lips pressed tightly together, your whimper is muffled and outright pathetic, pinched brows giving away the pleasure rippling through you. Still, he remains unmoving, undeniably making it clear who has the most leverage here. But that doesn’t really matter to you—you’re getting what you want, one way or another.
Right?
“Voìk si, little one [behave].” Ralak hisses, fighting the inner conflict within him.
“Haa—” Your laugh that follows is a little sinister, open mouthed and smug. Hands pressing into the wall you push off its surface, sinking him deeper inside you. “No.”
“Alright.” His voice is husky, thick with confidence and temperance.
With a rough, quick tug, his cock slips out of you with a squelch, hanging freely between his legs. Your slick mixed with his precum slowly dribbling off his tip and onto the floor between your pointed feet. You fall to the flat of your feet, panting and whining from the sudden emptiness.
“W-Wait.” You squeak, hastily getting back on the tips of your toes to stuff him inside you again. “Please.”
“What was that?” Ralak asks, voiced feigned with innocence. “A little louder.”
“Please.” You barely whisper, backing up on him.
“Come now, tanhì.” His hand slips from your hip to grip his cock. Giving it a few strokes he teases your cunt with his cockhead and you instinctively shimmy down. Hips snapping back to prevent you from taking him inside, he dips his head so his mouth is next to your ear and husks, “You can do better than that.”
“Please!” You moan loudly in desperation, reaching down to your knees to unfetter yourself from your tewng [loincloth].
“Please, what?” Ralak spits the last word through pursed lips, ready to give you exactly what you want if you just ask for it nicely.
“Please put it back inside.” You beg pathetically, finally getting the knot of your tewng undone. “Please, fuck me.”
“Ahh, there’s my good girl.” Ralak praises you with a grin, sinking his cock into your warmth at a leisurely pace. His breathing stutters for every inch that penetrates you. “Was that so hard?”
“Fuck.” You moan in relief, spreading your legs wider. He’s tamed you and he knows it. “No.”
“No…?” Ralak says it like a question, hissing when he bottoms out in your cunt.
“No, karyu.” You answer coyly, voice faltering from the pressure of his cockhead pushing into your cervix.
“Agh—haah” Ralak lets out a gruff grunt in response, his hips now snapping back and forth out of his control. He’s huffing and puffing next to your ear, pumping his cock in and out of you in a frenzy of need. Swollen balls repeatedly slapping against your clit, it’s almost impossible to hold back the gurgled noises escaping your throat.
“Fuck—so—fuckin’—deep—fuck.” The curses are punched out of you as he relentlessly smacks into you again and again.
“Lì’fyaz [language.]” Ralak chides in a growl, hand slipping down to pull back the hood of your clit—taut.
The continuous sting of your clit has your legs shaking and the way his cockhead is repeatedly stimulating your sweet spot has your eyes rolling back into your head. It’s almost too much all at once yet you yearn for more. Your cunt clamps down around him, especially when the tension becomes so tight you feel your stomach double-knot. Ralak hums when you tighten around him, only making him rut harder into you.
Pulling back, he glances down at you sucking him in, your tail curled tight to your back and his cock plunging in and out of your pussy. He can see just how tight you are as your pussy walls grip his girth mercilessly. And with the protective hand on your abdomen, he can feel each thrust against the palm of his hand. It makes his chest swell with pride—
You carry his child yet still take him so well.
“Oeÿa tsantu [my good girl]” Ralak slips into his native tongue, panting in an accent as thick as tree sap. “Oeÿa numeyutsyìp [my little student]”
Ralaks cock heats up inside you, heating your core along with it. It’s the same familiar sensation you feel before he provides you with your release. The feeling that keeps your eyes squeezed shut and breath shallow. He knows your close and slows his thrusts like he usually does, fucking you a little harder rather than faster, angling his pelvis so he’s right in your swelling g-spot.
Your hands fly behind you, grasping at whatever’s available as your orgasm washes through you. You gush all over your thighs, cum dribbling down your legs to your feet, some spattering on Ralak as he fucks and holds you through your high. It’s sudden and uncontrollable, leaving you sputtering out nonsense and your legs shaking violently beneath you.
“There it is. Good muntxate [wife].” Ralak huffs with a smirk, relishing in the quick, feverish flutter of your cunt on his cock. His voice is shaky from his uneven rhythm now that he can finally allow himself to finish too. “Love—hng—when you cum for me, you—ahh, haah—know that?”
He begins grinding to you, shoving you further into the wall as he focuses on his own climax. He uses his feet to kick your legs closed, and pulls out of you, stuffing himself between your thighs. He’s groaning and growling, hunched over you with bent knees and flushed, flattened ears. Skin slapping against skin, he humps at your thighs, thick cock sliding back and forth over your still pulsing clit.
His cockhead continuously pokes out between your folds, tip oozing and oozing with precum. Both his hands fly to your hips, gripping them with force as his thrusts become almost violent. You struggle to keep yourself standing as his hips smack into you repeatedly, your body jolting with each thrust. He gives you one last, harsh thrust, holding you still against him as you feel his cock throb wildly between your thighs. You look down to see his huge load shoot out in thick, white ropes. He’s grumbling behind you, giving your thighs an extra few uncontrollable thrusts as he peaks in his high.
Finally you fall to the flat of your feet, his arms instantly snaking around your waist to support your weight entirely.
“I told you no taunting, tanhì.” He’s referring to the time he opened up about his first rut, “Next time, you ask nicely. Tslam? [Understand?]” Ralak says breathlessly.
“Sran, oeÿa karyu. tslolam. [Yes, my teacher. I understand].” You blubber, fucked out and jaded.

How they are during your pregnancy + how they are with the baby
Tumblr media
Pairings: Jake, Quaritch, Tonowari, Tsu’tey x fem!reader
Warnings: Pregnancy, childbirth (nothing graphic), fluff
Tumblr media
Jake Sully
With Jake the pregnancy would definitely be a planned thing. He does his best to prepare himself, talking to Norm and anyone else he can find that has a good pair of brains. He wants to know exactly what to do in every situation that might occur, even reading up on it. It’s cute and you are glad that he’s doing his best to protect both you and the baby, but after you are a few months in, you almost want to rip his head off when he asks “Does your back ache? What is your pain level on a scale of 1 to 10?” yet again.
He’s constantly fussing over you, especially when you are getting close to your due date. The regular checkups from the human scientists have your Tsahík fuming, but Jake wants to make sure all ground is covered. He’ll take all the death stares if that means you and the baby are healthy.
Jake almost starts running circles like he’s in looney tunes when the birth starts. Another Na’vi has to force him to sit down by your side, and even then his tail is constantly swatting all over the place in anxiousness.
The type to say “god damn!” when he watches the baby being pushed out, making you almost snap his hand in two.
He won’t be able to take his eye off of his child when it’s born, hugging both you and them to his chest. He’ll kiss your sweaty forehead, crying as he tells you how well you did and that he’s so proud of you.
Sorry but when the baby is a few weeks old he definitely pretends to drop it because he thinks it’s funny, earning angry hisses and swats from you.
Will constantly cuddle with the baby when you aren’t holding them, rubbing his nose against their little belly. He’ll also love squishing their cheeks together and playing with their tiny ears, having them make funny faces at you.
Gags at least once when changing a diaper but doesn’t complain, just soldiers through.
Miles Quaritch
Who gave this man another kid?!? You did, and when Miles finds out he almost drops dead. He had just kinda assumed that they had snipped his ability to reproduce away just as they had snipped his ears. Boy was he wrong.
When your stomach starts growing and your urge him to touch it, he does so with much reluctance as he’s scared he might hurt the child. The tiniest hint of movement under his hand makes his ears perk up, and he’ll bend down to lay one against your belly. Na’vi hearing is incredibly good and he hears the thrumming heartbeat of your child instantly. “Our baby,” you whisper and caress over his hair. He repeats it back to you, accepting it a little bit more.
Miles continues telling Spider that you’ve just gotten fat until finally the boy has had enough, clearly seeing that you are pregnant. He gives his dad an earful about how he couldn’t even take care of him, so why the fuck is he having another. A valid point, but Miles tries to tell both himself and Spider that that was human Quaritch, not him. The boy accepts it just because you’ve always been a motherly figure to him, but he shoots Miles glares whenever he comes near.
He does his best to take care of you but this man is not exactly used to being gentle. He’ll cuddle you and rub over your stomach and back, trying to suite your aches. Where he fumbles is when you’ve been up almost all night, puking your insides out, and he dares to complain about his sore back. SORE BACK?!! He’s sleeping on the ground after that.
Strangely enough, as the months progress the pregnancy seems to be what forms you, Spider, and Miles into a true family. Both enjoy putting their hand on your stomach and feeling the baby kick, Spider letting out an excited “wooow!” at the force every time.
Miles starts sharing with Spider the few memories old Quaritch had of him as a baby. “Your head was gigantic,” Miles tell him, staring up into the sky with a grin. Spider laughs out a no, peeking over you to see his father. You lay like this often now, side by side as a family. “Humongous,” Miles doubles down, making you all cackle.
Miles is scared when you give birth, his eyes tightly closed as he holds onto your hand. He knows he doesn’t deserve to have this after all he has done, but lord, please let you and the baby be alright. He holds his breath till finally, he hears the baby’s first cry, his eyes snapping open. Both of you cry as you cradle your child close to your heart.
Suddenly becomes an expert on how to handle babies, constantly telling Spider to be careful with this or that, barely even letting him hold the baby the first few days.
Takes pictures of your child with a leaf hat on or something and finds it absolutely hilarious.
Carries the child everywhere, strapping them to his chest like a real male wife.
Tonowari
The first child born from your union is nothing short of a blessing to him. Even when your stomach is barely noticeable, he constantly touches it and it becomes a comforting feeling for the both of you.
Parades you around in front of the clan like you are the rarest jewel. He’s so, so proud of his beautiful mate, so happy that she’s carrying his child. He wants the whole world to see.
Tonowari constantly gives you massages, not even giving your feet or back the chance to start aching. He was already big on doing so before, but now you aren’t leaving the tent before the morning massages are done.
He’s so supportive and there for you that he goes as far as to hold your hair while you puke. You can scream your hormones out at him all you want and this man will just smile to himself, noting how ferocious you look like this.
Tonowari basically is the midwife during your birth, holding onto your arms as he helps you pace your breathing. When you push he puts his forehead against yours to comfort and support you.
Holds the baby up for the others to see after they’re born, the biggest smile on his face. He won’t stop bragging about his child to anyone who will listen. Every bump or blink is worth a reward in his eyes.
Takes the baby to watch over the ocean, telling them stories about all his adventures. When the baby eventually starts being able to point, he’s absolutely delighted, following to see what their chubby finger is pointing it. Whether it’s a simple barnacle or a fish, Tonowari will tell his child in great detail about whatever peaked their interest.
Tsu’tey
Finally. He has waited so long to have his own family and he’s absolutely overjoyed when he hears the news. He’ll pick you up and spin you around while laughing and cheering, making everyone around you wonder what is going on.
Tsu’tey was always protective of you, but with the pregnancy that gets 10 times worse. He’s constantly hovering over you, never letting you go out alone in the fear you’ll get hurt. You try to assure him you’ll be careful, but that’s not good enough. Too much can happen in a blink of an eye. He simply won’t allow it.
Instantly starts collecting beads for both the baby’s songcord and for their first neck piece, though the second will still have to wait a long time to be worn. He’s just too excited, already fantasizing about all he will teach his child, all the memories they will make.
He talks to the baby every night when the two of you are alone. Tsu’tey lays his head against your belly and tells your child all about his day, but also stories about what he and you have gotten up to in the past. It’s heartwarming to you to just lay back and watch him, chuckling now and then at his words.
Tsu’tey doesn’t just hold your hand during birth, he sits behind you, holding in his lap. He breaths with you as if one, stroking lovingly over your arms and legs as he encourages you to keep going.
Love is a word not strong enough to express what he feels for your child. As soon as their eyes meet, he smiles the brightest he has ever done in his life. The baby is perfect in his eyes, a beautiful mix of the both of you.
He loves sleeping with the baby cuddled up against his chest. At first he was too scared he might crush them, but after you swore you would watch him during those little moment, he gave in. It were the best naps he’s ever had, his heart beating as one with his child. Tsu’tey hadn’t thought he would ever feel this at peace.

Time flies
Sully family x child reader part 2
Part one- Eywas mystery
The years following when the sully’s took you in up until the time when you had to leave to go to the Metkayina clan
Tumblr media
~ age- 8 ~
Neytiri was teaching you how weave along with Kiri. It had been two years since Jake and Neytiri had found you. You had started calling the two your mom and dad with ease
“Mama can you help me please” you called out to Neytiri, your hands were stuck in the rope you were trying to weave into a net. Neytiri took one look at you and chuckled slightly
“come here little one” you kinda waddled her way trying not to trip on the longer pieces that were hitting your legs. Neytiri carefully unwrapped your hands and showed you the weave process again. This time she helped you more so you didn’t get your hands stuck again. Soon you had a simple, but effective net which you proudly showed Kiri
“Look I finished mine” your voice said happily showing your sister the next
“I finished mine too, I made a basket” Kiri said as she smiled
“We should use it to collect flowers Kiri!” She nodded so the two of you kissed your mom on the cheek and ran off into the flower field near by
~ age-12~
Neteyam , Lo’ak, Kiri and you were standing at the edge of the Hallelujah mountain
“It’s time to for you four to tame an Ikran” Jake said smiling
“Dad what if we fall” you say looking down and gulping. Jake pats your back softly “then I’ll swoop down and catch you, now go on you four”
Kiri is the first one to bond with an Ikran. She didn’t do it in the normal way though, she kind of befriended it?
Next was Neteyam, he tamed one quickly and efficiently. Within a few minutes he was flying around on his Ikran with ease
Lo’ak got thrown around a lot by the Ikran, he almost fell off when the Ikran flew down the mountain but he was able to connect his queue at the last minute
Finally it was your turn, the Ikran you had decided to try to tame was blue with streaks of purple. When you tried to get close she snapped at you ready to bite if you got too close, you had to admit that you were intimidated by the flying creature.
“Well here goes nothing” you said jumping on the ikrans back as she turned around.
The Ikran screeched and tried to throw you off as it flew into the air. Your hands struggled trying to grab your queue while still holding on to the creature. From the ground Jake was on his Ikran ready to grab you incase anyone happened and you fell off.
Finally you grabbed your queue and connected it with the ikrans. After a few minutes the blue and purple Ikran stopped thrashing and began to fly normally. You fly down to where your dad and your siblings were.
“You did great Y/N, but don’t scare me like that again” Neteyam said concerned about the fact that you could’ve plummeted to your death
“Don’t worry brother dad would never have let that happen plus Y/N way too good for that” Lo’ak said high fiving you
“Yeah she did much better then you two idiots” Kiri said as she wrapped her arm around your shoulder
Jake congratulated the four of you for doing so well. The five of you flew back to Neytiri and Tuk to share the accomplishments
~age-14~
The RDA was back on pandora and Quatrich, your dads old enemy, was back as an avatar. Right now because of your brother Lo’aks stupid need to see an old battle field him, Kiri, Tuk, Spider, and you were all being held hostage by Quatrich and his goons.
“Show me your hands girl” Quatrich said in very broken Na’vi, his goons had a gun to almost everyone’s head except Tuk who had a knife to her throat
You flipped Quatrich off as a way to show your five finger which made him roll his eyes. He had taken Lo’ak communication device a hours ago and had given your father instructions for giving himself up in exchange for you and your sibling. Suddenly you could hear your mothers signal, to anybody else it would just be interpreted as another sound of the pandorean jungle but to the sully kids it meant that their mother was near and ready to rescue them. Finally an opportunity to strike arises and Neytiri shots the guy holding Kiri with an arrow. Neytiri, Jake and Neteyam all spring into action. You, Tuk and Lo’ak bite the hands of your captors managing to distract them enough so that you could get away. Shots rang in the air and one of the avatars had Kiri but not for long as neytiri fired another arrow that landed straight into his chest. Neteyam almost gets shot while trying to rescue you guys but in the end all of the sully’s come out with minor injuries
“Where’s Spider?” Kiri’s voice trembled. At that moment everyone realizes that the human boy had been taken
“I’m so sorry kids, but I don’t think we can rescue him” Jake says, it hurt to see his children’s reaction more than losing Spider
That night you could hear your parents argue about what happened and how your dad just wanted to keep your family safe and the safety of the clan… which meant having to move, the RDA only cared about him and his family so if your family disappeared then both the family and the clan would be safe. You ran out of the hut, much to your parent’s surprise because they thought you and your siblings were asleep.
You sat outside of your home upset by your fathers words. You could feel someone sit down next to you
“I’m so sorry baby girl” Jake said wrapping his arm around you, you sob leaning in to your fathers embrace
“I don’t wanna leave dad, this is our home it’s not fair” your voice trembles
“I know baby, buts it’s for safety” Jake says looking black to see the rest of your family outside.
“You know what your father says, right kids” your mom says with a solemn expression
“Sully’s stick together” the sully kids say unenthusiastically
“Come on with attitude, I know you guys don’t want to leave but it needs to happen” Jake says hugging Tuk who was about to cry
The next day your father gave up his title of Olo’eyktan to Tarsem who sadly accepted. The entire clan was sad to see your family leave but they understood why you all had to leave
Everyone got on their Ikran, Tuk going with your mom, it took a few days to get to the Metkayina clan. When the sully’s landed they were surrounded by Metkayina, your father telling all of you to behave as some of the younger boys giving the family wary glares
“Look what is that? Is it supposed to be a tail” one of the metkayina boys says talking about Neteyam making some other metkayina laugh
You see Lo’ak entranced by a a girl walking out of the water and you just roll your eyes
“It’s too small how are they supposed to swim” the same boys say referring to your tail
“Do not Ao’nung Rotxo” the girl says, Lo’ak says hi to her and she smiles and looks away shyly
soon their Olo’eyktan (tonowari) came out of the water walking through the crowd to your family
“I see you Tonowari” your father says bowing slightly the rest of the family following his example
“Jake sully” Toniwari says as he acknowledges your family
Soon the tsahik came through the crowd her expression cold
“I see you, Ronal Tsahik of the metkayina” your father voice rang
“I see you Ronal” says Neytiri
“Why do you come to us Jake Sully” says Tonowari curious as to why forest people would come to their home near the ocean
“We seek uturu…” Jake says making the Metkayina gasp
“Uturu?” Ronal says surprised by your father statement
“…a sanctuary for my family” your father continues. Ronal walks forward after exchanging looks with her mate
“We are reef people. You are forest people. Your skills mean nothing here” the Olo’eyktan said as Ronal continues to circle your family
“So we will learn your ways, right” Jake said the last part directed towards his family
Ronal grabs your mothers tail and then Tuks arms
“Their arms are thin…” Ronal says walking and grabbing Kiris tail “…their tails are weak. You will be slow in the water”. Then she grabs hands hands raising them in the air
“These children are not even true Na’vi” she states as the Metkayina gasp
“Yes we are” you say upset. But she doesn’t care and just goes to grab Lo’aks hand and raises it to show his five fingers
“They have demon blood!” The tsahik claim immediately making the rest of the Metkayina more hostile towards your family. God how your blood was boiling at this point. You hadn’t done anything to this woman and she already didn’t like you and your family
“Look! Look” your father shows his hands “I was born to the sky people and now I’m Na’vi. You can adapt” he says turning back to Tonowari
“We can adapt” Jake says almost desperately
“My husband was Toruk Makto. He lead the clans to victory against the sky people” says Neytiri in an harsh tone as she looks at Tonowari.
“This you call victory? Hiding among strangers…” your mother looks down “…it seems Eywa has turned her back on you chosen” your mom hisses and Ronal retribution with a hiss of her own, you could see that the two were ready to fight at any second.
Jake cuts in between the two women apologizing for your mothers behavior claiming that the journey has made her tired and easily irritable and Tonowari changes the subject
“Toruk Makto is a a Great War leader. All Na’vi people know his story. But we Metkayina are not at war…” he turns to your father “… we cannot let you bring your war here” Toniwari says
“Look I’m done with war, okay? I just wanna keep my family safe” your father says holding Tuk
“Uturu has been asked” your mother says harshly
The Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik exchange looks before Ronal nods slightly
“Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us. Treat them as our brothers and sisters. But they do not know the sea. So, they will be like babies taking their first breath. Teach them our ways so they do not know the shame of being useless” you could see your fathers relief as Tonowari said these words. The family thanked him and he explained that his children Ao’nung and Tsireya will you and your sibling their ways. The boy Ao’nung had obvious protest but was shut down by his father and the Tsireya just smiled and showed your family around. The next few weeks we’re going to be hard.

There WILL be a part three focusing on your time with the metkayina clan so pls don’t comment saying it’s a cliffhanger. Anyways hoped you enjoyed :)

I LOVED your sully family x reader fic!!!
Makes me wonder what would happen if Quaritch came and tried to take reader away 👀
If he was scared of Neytiri before, he’s going to have a heart attack now lol
~A/N: I had planned to write a part two to it since I liked it and people were asking for it, but I just had to include your idea once I checked my inbox! Once again, reader is pretty gender neutral, only descriptors are your size since in this you're tiny.
~Masterlist
Part 1 , Part 2
CW: yandere behavior (platonic), possessive behavior, obsessive behavior, mental breakdown, mild description of violence, minor character death
Tumblr media
~(A/N: Going to include the Kiri scene, for plot purposes. Also going to follow some of the actual plot for part of this.)
-You had been with your new family and staying with the Metkayina for a few weeks now. You had gotten used to it with the rest of your family.
-Though it was frustrating that you couldn’t do the same things as your siblings. It was frustrating not being allowed to do the things even Tuk was allowed to do! You were tired of it, and kind of regretted calling them your family if it could’ve prevented this. But you did love them.
-You were once again collecting shells in the shallow water and playing with the other kids and your siblings, when someone suggested going for a deeper swim. Everyone said yes, and your siblings even allowed you to go because they said it would be safe!
-You followed the group and dove with them to look at the glowing plants. You were looking around when you noticed that Kiri had stopped swimming. You looked over and saw her shaking in place.
-You knew this was a problem and immediately went to her and swam up to the surface as fast as you could with Kiri in your grasp. Eventually the others noticed as well and helped you drag Kiri to the surface. You swam with the group as they brought Kiri to the shore.
-You insisted on going with her to the healer’s hut. You were allowed to and stayed by her side the whole time. You watched as Norm and Max showed up and enthusiastically hugged them when they arrived at the hut.
-They were in shock that you’ve been here with the Sully’s the whole time. They’d been worried when you just disappeared when the family did, but they were glad you were safe. They focused and went to Kiri, but you still clung to them the whole time while looking at your new sister.
-Neytiri was with you guys, and while she was extremely worried for her oldest daughter, she was fuming watching you cling to the dream walkers. Neytiri insisted Ronal stay and use a navi way of taking care of Kiri.
-She went and snatched you from the humans while ordering them to leave so the Metkayina’s tsahik could do her thing. She was royally pissed when you whined and reached for them as they were heading out. She just faced Kiri so you could focus on the important thing again.
-Once you caught sight of your sister again, you wiggled to get down. Your mother set you down and you hurried back to Kiri’s side. You were sitting beside her, resting your hand on her arm as Ronal was doing her chants.
When she finished, it only took a moment for Kiri’s eyes to open and her to gasp for air. She looked around and immediately spotted her mother and youngest sister, plus the rest of her family outside of the hut.
She clutched her mom’s and your hand and burst into tears. You leaned down to hug her as she cried. You didn’t blame her, this had to be a traumatizing experience for her. You just held her as the rest of the family gathered around her
As everyone settled, you patted her head before being pulled into your oldest brother’s lap. You didn’t want to be in anyone’s lap and started wiggling to be let go. Neteyam sighed, but set you down beside him anyway.
Though, with everyone focused on your sister, you got the chance to sneak out of the tent and go to Norm and Max. You ran up to them and collided with their legs. Norm turned and quickly picked you up. He smiled as you tightly hugged his neck.
You sighed and said, “I missed you.” You just hugged tighter and buried your face in his neck more. It felt so good to see them again. Norm hugged you back as tight as he could without hurting you. He said he missed you too, which just made you cling on tighter. Max was touched at the sight and went over to hug the both of you. He knew you liked getting ‘group hugged’ like this.
The moment lasted for a few minutes before one of the Sullys noticed you were gone and left the hut to find you. Neteyam was pissed when he saw you clinging to the scientists. He marched over and tapped Max on the shoulder to get his attention. Once he had it, he motioned for them to give you back, which they did reluctantly.
You looked over Neteyam’s shoulder as they started leaving. You waved at them and yelled, “Bye-bye!” They smiled and waved back at you before heading back to the forest.
-Once Neteyam was back in the hut with his family, he went and sat down with you right next to Kiri, who clung onto your hand again. You just sighed and settled into your brother’s lap more.
-You were getting kind of tired of being held most of the day by them, even if you struggled to keep up on your own. You wanted some time to yourself after this. Kiri would be recovering, so maybe it was possible.
-Once she was taken back to your family’s marui, everyone had gathered around in a hammock to cuddle together. And for some reason you were in the middle of it.
-You loved cuddles, but you were a little bit overwhelmed, overstimulated, and slightly too warm. So, once everyone was settled more and was deep enough into their nap, you gently took yourself out of the pile.
-You went to the place with some paper and wrote them a note saying you were out swimming/exploring to clear your head and relax. You knew this would worry them, but it would be worth it in the end.
You went to the entrance of the marui and quietly walked out, going towards the shore. You wandered around for a bit before coming across Tsireya, who was swimming around in the shallower water. You stood there for a minute before calling out to her.
You started to walk a bit into the water as she turned to look at you, a bit surprised to see your family nowhere in sight. She brushed the thought off and swam to where you were to see what you were doing. She asked why you were out here alone and you said, “I love them but I want some time to myself. I was a bit overwhelmed so I left them a note and came out to walk around for a bit. I like being around other people though and figured you wouldn’t mind hanging out with me for a little while. I just don’t wanna be picked up or held right now.” You looked up at her through your lashes and fiddled with your fingers as you explained yourself.
Tsireya was a bit concerned for you from the words, but happily agreed to spend some time with you. You said you wanted to just float around for a bit in the deeper part, so she swam out with you and watched over you while you relaxed. You floated on your back while staring up at the sky. Tsireya dove down under the water, but continued to keep a good watch over you. You were just an innocent and cute kid.
In the time you were floating around, Aonung and Rotxo had joined Tsireya in swimming around and keeping watch over you. It was surprisingly refreshing to see you enjoying yourself without your family around. You seemed so content at the moment that they didn’t want to interfere with it.
It was about an hour from when you started floating that they heard a commotion from the Sullys’ marui. They looked over and saw most of the family rush out of the marui, all of them except Kiri and Tuk, who were standing at the entrance with a piece of paper in Kiri’s hand. They all looked at each other, then at you, then back at the family rushing along the beach towards them.
You still hadn’t noticed them, and it seems like they hadn’t noticed you yet. They slowly swam to cover you from their view as they got close enough to look at you. They wanted you to have a bit more peace before the Sullys dragged you off with them.
Jake frantically asked them if they had seen you, and they looked at each other again before looking back at him and shaking their heads while shrugging. He narrowed his eyes at them and walked a bit closer. Neteyam and Loak immediately walked into the water to swim towards them. They got very nervous, because they knew you were still peacefully floating behind them, relaxing.
Once the two made it to them, they looked at the three with narrowed eyes. The three were shoulder to shoulder, like a little wall. They looked like they were hiding something. And they were. As soon as they looked around them, they saw you. You were still floating on you back, but had drifted into a light doze.
Loak let out a relieved sigh before getting closer and gently grabbing your arm. You jolted up and looked around before looking over your brother. You saw the three metkayina kids looking concerned, Neteyam in front of them looking relieved, and your parents on the shore still looking a bit panicked. Though once they saw you were okay, they both deflated and smiled at you.
You just sighed, upset that your alone time was interrupted, but went with your brothers anyway. As soon as you got to your parents, Neytiri picked you up and clutched you to herself. Along with Jake rubbing your back.
The metkayina children just looked at you with concern filled eyes. They thought you looked so tired. They kind of felt bad for you, because they knew that you probably never got to be alone in that family.
As they saw the Sullys walk off with you, they made eye contact again and nodded. Tsireya and Aonung were gonna bring their concern up with their parents. They knew they could make up something for all of the family to do so you could be by yourself for a while during the days.
Meanwhile, you were smothered with attention when you guys got back to your marui. You just slumped to the floor of the hammock and they surrounded you. You basically shut down so you could have alone time in your mind.
-The rest of the family noticed you went limp and cautiously backed away from you enough to look you over. You were just blankly staring in front of you. This made them very concerned.
-Kiri got closer and waved her hand in front of your face, and you didn’t react at all. She didn’t like that, so she gently shook you to see if you would react to that. You did react to that by jolting and rapidly blinking your eyes before looking around you.
-The family was relieved that you were okay and all hugged you again.
-Which was a mistake.
-Because you immediately burst into tears and tried struggling away from them. Their attempts to sooth you with affection just made you cry harder and scream louder. They were baffled because this was the first tantrum of yours they had ever witnessed in the months of knowing you.
-You were totally inconsolable for a good ten to fifteen minutes, which stressed them out beyond belief. They wanted you to calm down, but nothing that they were doing was helping, just seemed to make you cry harder. They were honestly at a loss for what to do.
-Finally, they all backed away from you. Once you had some breathing room, you stopped struggling and just cried for another ten minutes before slowly calming down. It took another 5 minutes for your cries to stop completely.
-The Sullys just watched you the whole time, shocked that you just needed them to not touch to make you calm down. It almost made them think that you didn’t love them anymore, but they knew that a lot of children just need space during big meltdowns like that.
-After you were done freaking out you got very tired. Throwing a tantrum uses a lot of energy. As you were falling asleep you quietly said, “I’m sorry. I’ve been overstimulated with all of the touching lately. I left our marui to relax by myself.”
-And with that, you were dead asleep.
The family carefully gathered around you and carefully put you into the middle of their cuddle pile. They just let you rest on top of them, just for that night. They would allow you to have a little bit of space for part of the next day, but that was it.
When you woke up the next morning the family was gathered around you like usual. You, surprisingly, didn’t care all too much since letting your emotions out. You went closer to Neytiri and snuggled into her since everyone else was still asleep. You drifted off to sleep, a lot warmer than before, and content.
Neytiri had woken up when you moved on top of her, and she was delighted that you chose to be close with her again. She waited until you went back to sleep to move closer to Jake and snuggle you closer between them.
She gently shook him awake, and once his eyes opened she motioned to you. He had the most radiant smile while realizing that you chose to lay with them. He put his arms around the both of you and gently purred. The other kids all woke up at this and peeked over their parents’ sides to see you between them. They were also happy to see that, as that would mean that they could cling to you again soon. The whole family rested while looking at you until the sun was mostly up. Then, everyone except you and Neytiri left the hammock to begin making breakfast.
Once breakfast was almost ready, Neytiri got up, while still holding you, and went over to where the rest of the family was. You were starting to stir just as she fully sat down. You opened your eyes and yawned right after, making the whole family smile at you. You were always so adorable when you did that.
You were fully awake when the food was ready to be served, perched on your mother’s lap and ready to receive your portion. It didn’t take you that long to eat, so you sat back against her as the rest of your family finished eating.
After they were all done eating, you were set on the ground and told you could do whatever by yourself until someone got you for lunch. You smiled so hard your cheeks hurt and thanked them before hurrying out of the marui. The rest of your family sighed before the kids nodded at each other and started following you.
-They saw you run across the shore before getting to a quiet part of the beach and going into the water. You waded around for a while, then swam out a bit further. Once you got to where it was deeper, you just started floating on your back.
-And didn’t do anything else for a while. They were pretty sure you fell asleep.
-Until they saw someone come up from underwater towards you. Once they surfaced they saw it was just Tsireya. Who looked over at you before swimming closer and stopping right next to you. She waved her hand in front of your face, giggling when she didn’t get a reaction.
-She gently pushed water towards you, making you wake up from your doze and look over at her. You lazily smiled before draping yourself over her back and laying your head back down. She just looked over her shoulder at you before gently swimming around with you on her.
-They were just shocked that you only wanted some time to be quiet and calm. They guessed that even children got worn out with constant activity and noise. Maybe the clinging didn’t help as well, since you were alone through most of the morning.
-Though it was time for them to start gathering you for lunch, or at least a snack. They did have more swimming lessons after lunch.
-They started waving at Tsireya, and it didn’t take long for her to notice them. She saw them waving her towards them, so she began gently swimming to the shore with you. It only took her about two minutes to reach the group of siblings, considering she swam slowly to not wake you up.
-Once she got to them, Kiri took you from her back into her arms, to not wake you back up. Neteyam thanked her and told her they were gonna have a small lunch before their lessons. Tsireya took the moment to tell them that her parents wanted them to bring you to the lesson today as well. As well as that Ronal wanted to have a conversation with her afterwards.
-The siblings were confused, but had to agree to the request of the tsahik. They just nodded before walking off with you.
Tsireya went to her mother to let her know the Sully siblings agreed to let you go with Ronal after the lesson.
Ronal was relieved that she could get you away from them for some extra time today, though she would talk to you during that time to figure out if there are different ways to take care of your health. She wanted to be prepared, just in case.
She had a bad feeling for the future.
Meanwhile, you were being held in Kiri’s lap as you ate lunch with your family. When you were all done you were carried over to where the lessons usually are. You were reluctantly put down when Aonung, Tsireya, and Rotxo made their way over to you and your siblings.
They explained that Tsireya and Aonung would be helping the siblings with their ilus and some more advanced diving. And Rotxo would be helping you with your breathing and supervising you underwater. To which you just nodded before walking over to Rotxo.
The whole group swam out to the deeper section of the water before Rotxo guided you away from the main group to keep you from being swept up by the ilus swimming near you. Your siblings were almost glaring at him, but knew that he was just helping you and keeping you safe. They didn’t exactly trust him with you, so they would glance over every once in a while to check up on you.
Meanwhile, you were just happily diving down a bit to look at all of the plants and animals under the water, periodically going up for air. You were proud of yourself for being able to spend up to five minutes underwater. You were just gleefully exploring with Rotxo, pointing out all of the exciting things you saw to him, which made him smile at you everytime. He was honestly having a great time watching you explore.
You two were doing that for about an hour and a half until he got the signal from Tsireya to bring you to Ronal and join the main lesson. So, he guided you to the surface, then helped you to the shore. Once you were there he asked if you wanted him to carry you. You thought about it before nodding and reaching up towards him.
He chuckled and picked you, holding you close to his chest, before starting to walk to the tsahik’s tent. It only took about ten minutes to make it there, and he dropped you off after calling out to Ronal to tell her you were there.
Ronal turned to you and motioned you closer to her. You quickly waddled, in her point of view, to her side and waited for more context. She just gently smiled at you and set you somewhere higher then sat down herself.
-She told you she wanted you to tell her if there were any ways that your health maintenance was different to navi.
-You put on your thinking face before telling her all of the things you knew, happily telling her that Norm and Max taught you most of those things. This took you almost half an hour because of how excited you were to get everything out.
-Ronal was intently listening to you and nodding along to what you were telling her. She had gathered that humans were very similar to navi, except more delicate and sensitive to things. She knew this information would be valuable to her later, she had a feeling you would get hurt more than other navi in their village.
-She said she understood and that you were a smart girl for remembering all of that. You beamed at her and hugged the nearest part of her to you. Which happened to be her arm. She looked down at you as you hugged her arm and smiled up at her.
-She thought you were a cute kid. She patted your head before scooping you up and asking if you would help her with her (easier) duties until dinnertime.
-And you easily agreed, very happy to help someone. You continued holding onto her as she went deeper into her hut. She set you on a mat as she brought over multiple things for the medicinal pastes she uses.
-She briefly introduces them to you, by saying their names and pointing at them, and telling you to help by handing her the right things as she makes more of her current medicines.
She spends about two hours making more medicines with you talking at her the whole time. She nods along to the right parts, even if what you are talking about concerns her a little bit. You had been telling her all about your life, from coming to Pandora to meeting the Sullys. She’s surprised that you are such a happy child after going through all of that.
She didn’t say that to you, she just told you that you’ve definitely had an interesting life. You happily nodded at her before Neytiri came into the hut to get you for dinner. You trotted over to her before getting picked up and carried away. You waved at Ronal over her shoulder as you were leaving the hut.
Ronal just sighed as you two left. She was very confused by the fact that the Sullys just took you with them when they came here. She would have to keep an eye on them in the future.
-Neytiri had carried you to where the family was eating on the beach. Well, they would be eating there, they were waiting for you to begin eating.
-She sat down with you in her lap and handed you your tiny bowl and small portion. You taking your first bite had prompted the others to start eating as well. And you were all finished eating within fifteen minutes.
-After you were all finished eating, you got up and went into the water to float for a bit before you had to go to sleep. Your siblings went in with you and started playing around you, and your parents were watching over all of you with smiles on their faces.
-Life continued on very similar to that for about another month before things changed in a way no one could’ve predicted. (A/N: I’m gonna skip right to the part where Quaritch shows up)
Loak had planned to take you guys with him to see Payakan. You all went in the water with him to visit the Tulkun, as he hadn’t left with the rest. All of you were paying all of your attention to Loak and Payakan and didn’t notice what was happening around you.
No one noticed until it happened. But suddenly, most of the people present were snatched up and out of the water. Those being you, Loak, Kiri, Tuk, and Tsireya. You had inhaled a little bit of water from being surprised while under, and started hacking and coughing as soon as you were above the surface. As soon as you were all thrown onto the floor of the ship, your siblings circled you and patted your back as you continued to cough.
You looked around you while still coughing up some water and saw some unfamiliar navi wearing human clothes. This gave you a bad feeling in your tummy. Finally after a few more minutes your coughing slowed down and you slumped down onto the deck of the ship you were thrown on. The rough fall had also made you pretty sore.
Your siblings and Tsireya were huddled around you while you were basically limp on the boat. The avatars around you were staring at the display in confusion. They had never seen the human before this and it seemed that all of the Sully children were very attached and protective of you, even the little one.
They had missed one of the Sully kids though, the oldest one. And they got one of the water ones instead. Oh well, they can work with this. They each grabbed a kid and brought them to the railing to tie them to it. They tied up the big ones first before putting the small ones in between them. That made the group relax a bit, even if they were still glaring at them.
Quarich just smirked and went to the boy to take his earpiece, he knows he can get to Jake this way. He snatched it off of the kid’s head and brought it up to his face. He called out to Jake and told him he had his kids. He got a very quick response asking which of his kids were there.
-He brought the device to each kid’s face and prompted them to say their names. He went down the line : Loak, Y/N, Kiri, Tuk, and Tsireya.
-As soon as Jake heard his kids were with that bastard, he turned to Neytiri with a determined look on his face. When all of the kids that were there were listed, they were both ready to end all of them by themselves. Right as they were gonna leave to kill them, his oldest along with Aonung and Roxto ran to them to tell them what happened.
-He said he got the news from the source, and were gonna end them for taking their babies. They looked at each other and nodded before going to get Tonowari and Ronal as well. They also asked the boys if they wanted to help.
-They all said yes, so the group went to get the other adults. They found them quickly. Once they explained the situation, both of the other parents were ready to kill as well.
-All of them got their weapons before heading out into the water. The whole time he was talking to Quarich to make sure he didn’t do anything to the kids. He saw the boat was far enough from the shore that they could sneak up on the avatars.
-The metkayina, Jake, and Neteyam got onto their ilus and skimwings, while Neytiri got onto her ikran, and they set off stealthily to reach the ship.
-They all went over the plan together, then surfaced to fill in Neytiri in the sky, but not through the comms. They went around the back of the ship, spotted Neytiri in the sky, then gave her the signal for her to attack first.
-Neytiri shot an arrow straight for Quaritch, making sure it went through his neck. He would not get away with taking her children, especially her youngest, delicate baby.
-After the ones in the water saw the arrow go through his neck, they emerged from the water and made quick work of the rest of the avatars, who were still stunned about the first attack.
-Neytiri descended from the sky and landed on the boat. Getting out her knife and slashing Quaritches throat to make sure he was dead. The rest of the group followed with the other avatars.
Once that was said and done, each set of parents went to their children and cut them free from the railing of the ship. The metkayina all embraced each other once Tsireya was free. The Sullys all hugged each other, with you and Tuk in the middle of it. They knew seeing death this close could be a bit traumatizing for children. Jake knew that was especially true for human children.
He picked you up and held you close to his chest. He kissed your head and quietly asked you if you were alright. You just clung to him and shook your head. He turned to the rest of his family and gently shook his head. They then all circled around you too and each kissed your head and rubbed your back before they went to the edge of the ship to head back to their marui.
You went with your dad on his skimwing, Tuk with your mom on her ikran, Kiri went with Neteyam on his ilu, Loak went on the ilu Aonung was riding, Tsireya rode on the skimwing with her dad, and Aonung rode with his mother on her skimwing. The families nodded at each other when they reached the shore before parting ways to go to their own maruis.
You were still being clutched in your dad’s arms as your family made their way across the beach and the pathways to your marui. You had been coming down from the adrenaline high of getting kidnapped and rescued. You got extremely tired, so you drifted off to sleep in your dad’s arms  before you even made it home.
Tuk had done the same in your mom’s arms, the older siblings smiling at you both, though Kiri and Loak were also very tired.
-Once you made it back Kiri took your from Jake, and Loak took Tuk from Neytiri, and they went to lay in the family hammock with you two. As soon as they laid down, they were out cold. The awake members of the family just smiled at the four of you before going to make dinner for you all.
-They took their time making it to give you guys a good nap before they had to wake you up for dinner. It took the three oldest of the family about forty minutes to finish a decent sized dinner for everyone. Once they were finished, they went over to your cuddle pile and gently shook all of you awake.
-You all sat up groggily, which made the oldest three chuckle at you guys. They quietly told you that dinner was ready, which quickly woke up Loak and Tuk, who jumped up and raced out of the hammock towards where the food was.
-Jake followed them to keep them from eating before the whole family was there. Neytiri stayed with you and Kiri, who were slower waking up than her other two youngest. She gently guided Kiri out of the hammock, then pushed her towards the rest of the family.
-She, however, gently picked you up and carried you with her to the others. She sat down between Jake and Kiri before getting food for you, slightly more than usual. She had a feeling you would be slightly hungrier than normal tonight.
-Everyone else had their portions of dinner by then and started eating as soon as you had yours. You ate just as slow as you usually did, and ate everything in your bowl as well. You were still hungry after finishing it, which was very unusual for you. You turned to your mother and quietly asked her to get you more food. She smiled and gave you another portion, this time slightly smaller than your normal one.
-Your family smiled at you as you finished the second helping, set down your bowl, and immediately went back to sleep in your mother’s lap. Your youngest brother and Tuk had been scarfing down huge portions of dinner, three for Loak, and two for Tuk before they were done as well and yawned after setting their bowls down too.
-Kiri was still tired as well after eating her bigger than normal portion too. Once the whole family was done eating, Jake took all of the stuff from dinner to the kitchen and set them down as Neytiri and Neteyam helped the rest of the family back into bed. He joined them as soon as he was done.
-He cuddled everyone close when he joined his family in their hammock. Pulling his mate and two youngest close to him while smiling. The older children stuck close to their parents’ side and fell asleep quickly. Jake and Neytiri shared a light kiss before going to sleep as well.
-When you woke up the next day you refused to let go of your family. And they were in heaven, even if they were also recovering from the major scare the day before. They had each taken some time for themselves throughout the day, essentially taking shifts with you to let you cling to them.
-By the end of the day, you were calmer and wanted to float outside the marui. You told them this, and they had someone go supervise you as you did it. You relaxed there for the hour before dinner was done.
-Loak had been watching over you the whole time. Once he heard that dinner was ready, he went over to the edge of the pathway and splashed some water on you to get your attention.
-He smiled at you as you opened your eyes and lifted your head to look over at him. He raised a hand and motioned you to come towards him. You just blinked at him before swimming over to the edge of the pathway.
-Once you were right in front of him, he reached out and lifted you right out of the water and into his arms. He easily carried you into the marui and to where the rest of your family was. He sat you down on his lap while he was between Kiri and Neteyam.
-His dad handed him his plate and yours, the last ones to be handed out, but he wasn’t that upset about it. This was the first time in a while that he got to have you with him during a meal, and he was going to relish it.
He gently handed you your dinner before starting to eat his. He was still shocked to this day how little food you eat. And that it makes you full. Last night was the most he had ever seen you eat, and it was still a pretty small amount compared to navi children. But, he couldn’t say anything about it since you were healthy, and he knew everyone else in his family, with the exception of his dad, felt that way. He figured it was since he had a lot more experience with human children.
It didn’t take long after you were done for the rest of the family to finish as well. Your mom took all of the things from dinner away while the rest of the family went towards your hammock. Loak had carried you over with him while Neteyam carried Tuk. They both laid down with you two and snuggled together, with Kiri joining while you were settling down. Not long after that, your parents came and snuggled in on either side of your little pile, each with an arm resting over all of you.
You all peacefully went to sleep, content with the reassuring presence of your family.

NETEYAM X READER X SULLY FAMILY (platonic)
Tumblr media
When neteyam had first told you about the sully family leaving, that they were being hunted, including you,  it came as such a shock, you'd known Neytiri all your life, and you'd also known that the goddess of a woman loved this land more than she loved her ikran. You were even further surprised when you learned that jake wanted you to come.
You were there when those Human-NAvi breeds had interrogated Lo-ak , those men yanked your hair and held you up like you were a slab of meat. That was when it all started, with a knife pressed to your throat, and spider being taken away, you knew something big was going to happen.
You belonged to this family since you were very young, being that your own parents were killed off by the sky people, leaving you as a child with mo-at. Jake took you under his wing, after all, You were only a year younger than neteyam, so they couldn't turn you away. Eventually, sensing the strong relationship between you and their oldest son, you were declared his promised mate.
Even so, you never truly felt like a part of the family, Jake and Neytiri tried their hardest, but often times you outcasted yourself, trying to prove yourself, trying to show them that they shouldn't regret taking you in. It didnt help that as you grew up, you and their oldest son developed some kind of complicated relationship, something neither of you could explain fully.
So, even though you loved this land, loved your home, with all of your heart, you left. The clan leadership was passed along to another family, and you all packed up your things, boarded your ikrans, and left. The ride was long, and hard, you didn't dare look back at the forest once you crossed the shoreline, fearing that homesickness would overcome you.
---
When you arrived at the metkayina tribe's village, you, along with the entire family, were greeted with a not-so-warm welcome, hostility was laced in every word they said. A woman, clearly pregnant, circled around your family, eyeing all of you down. You unknowingly caught the attention of the only son of the metkayina clan leader.
“Why have you come upon our land? Forest people belong in the forest” she spoke, hissing out the words, and locking eyes with neytiri. boys behind you grabbed at your tail and arms, yanking you about, commenting on how skinny, how frail it was. Neteyam stepped behind you and wrapped an arm around your waist, shooting a look to the greenish-blue boys.
“We are seeking refuge, and can't stay with the omaticaya clan.” Your father interjected, stepping in front of Neytiri, who was already hissing at the woman for touching tuk. For touching her. Obviously, you all were desperate, the different clans never mixed.
“Your arms are skinny, along with your tails, you will move very slow in the water. And you have no knowledge of our ways, you all will be like babies.” She grabbed Neytiri's tail, and yanked. You willed yourself not to go forward and push her off. You were just so scared, and so tired, if they didn't accept you, then you would have no where else to go. You clutched neteyams hand tight, just trying to relieve any of the anxiety you had with his presence.
“We can learn your ways, please. I’m just trying to protect my family.” Jake begged, locking eyes with you for a split second, then with the woman again, they held gazes for a few ominous moments. You stood in the back, wanting to cave in on yourself like a crab.
“It is settled, my children will give theirs lessons on our ways, and we will give them a home, treat them like your brothers and sisters.”
---
It was rough at first, having to abandon all of your traditions, the way you ate, the way you lived, the way you breathed. But as days passed, you got used to it, proving yourself to be a quick learner, catching on to the way of water fairly quickly. You werent as good as tsireya or anuong of course, But you were certainly ahead of lo-ak.
Once the anxiety of moving left you, you were finally able to appreciate the world around. All the unfamiliar excitements that came with a new home. The water that filled your home, the fish, the sand, the plants, the corals, everything was so… beautiful. That was the only word you could use to describe it.
Often you wished to live under the sea, be part of ey-wa, you grew to be absolutely fascinated with it.  How the ocean could be full of peace, or rage, how it could be as beautiful as it was terrifying. You didn't think that you'd ever been this content before, in a place that you loved, with the people you loved.
But, there's always a yin to a yang. And for you, that happened to be the children of the clan leaders. Tsireya was kind, and so bubbly, the two of you got along very well, even being able to call yourself somewhat best friends, you would giggle about the sully boys being idiots or gossip about the village and it's people.
But… anuong and roxto? They were much less than happy to help you and your family, anuong believed that forest people belonged in the forest (like mother like son), and  as roxto idolized his older brother, so did he. While anuong did harbor some strange feeling for you, which made him cut back on his teasing for you (and only you), he still made it a living hell for neteyam, and lo-ak, and kiri.
They poked fun at the skinniness of your people's arms and legs and tails, bullying lo-ak for having a hard time, at kiri for being a strange girl, and especially at neteyam, just for having you.
And you. Anuong couldn't find an ounce of reasoning why, but he hated you, because he couldn't stop liking you. Which resulted in only the most loving teasing and bullying from him  and his goonds. You couldn't tell the difference.
They always knew where to find you most of the time, with your head buried in the sand, or sitting on top of corral with a turtle, or picking seaweed for no reason at all. You had the strangest habits.
Like now, you floated on top of the shallow water, a few seashells sunbathing on your back, your hands stuck in the sand below. You didn't even notice the three boys coming up close, commenting on what the hell you thought you were doing.
“She's looking at the sand! What kind of freak are you?” one of the boys yelled above the water, pulling your tail up, that you did hear. Your head perked up from under the water, and you kicked his hand away from you. Wiping your eyes, you let out a soft
“Huh?” confusion laced through your tone, you stared at the three, anuong stood in the middle, looking strangely meek, while the one pulling at your tail giggled at your “idiocy”, the sight of them towering over you explained enough, and brought fear to you.
“Huh?” roxto mocked, splaying his hands out “I said- What kind of freak, are. You. “ he repeated, and as you stood up he got close to your face, and placed a hand on your shoulder, sticking his tongue out and hissing. You cowered back, and shrugged his hand off.
“I’m not a freak.” you spoke, and began walking towards the village and shore, hoping you could lose them, or they would just give up. They didn't, and instead followed you, tugging at your braids, and your tail.
“Are you sure, looking at stones, playing with fish. Freak.” anuong was the one this time to speak up, pointing at the little pile of seaweed and seashells on the shoreline. He leaned over, and hissed the word in your face, you were on the verge of tears at this point . Footsteps behind him were swift and soft as they came closer.
“Back off man, leave her alone” Lo-ak smacked him across the back of his head, coming up in front of you to  serve as a barrier from anuong. He'd known that you weren't the most normal person, but it still pissed him off to no end that people like anuong could walk all over you.
“Awwww, does the freak need her little brother to come and save her?”The boys around teased and pulled on lo-ak, grabbing at his “baby” tail and poking fun at him, lo-ak was dumb, you'd known this since he was young, he was reckless, and didnt think. But, his recklessness made him strong. But also gets him into situations like this. Where the two of you end up in an equal amount of trouble, tears threatening to spill from your eyes , and lo-akabout to set somebody on fire.
You automatically felt safer seeing neteyam rise frm the ocean waves, clearly hearing the commotion on the beach, he had been out here with you and lo-ak, but the three of you separated for a short moment. Of course anuong had to start something when he wasnt there to protect you.
“He said, leave her alone” Your mate shoved roxto back from you and set a hand on your shoulder, anuong raised a brow, but hushed his friend when he began mocking you for needing neteyam to come and save you too. The man you loved  locked eyes with you and grabbed your hand, clearly trying to rub it in anuongs face that you were his. Then, he walked, and lo-ak followed.
“Demon blooded freaks, all of them. You don't belong here.” Anuong hissed, eyes narrowing at the three of you beginning to walk away. You held onto lo-ak, knowing that the remark would set him off the edge further, trying to pull him back when he turned around. He just shook your hand off, and hurried over to anuong.
You didnt even care to listen to what Lo-ak was saying, knowing damn well that it would just end with him throwing punches, you were proved right when neteyam left a small kiss on your forehead, and sprinted over to jump into the mix. They yanked tails, and ears, and eventually, you sat in the sand and watched, laughing when they wined.
When both sides had tired out, and anuong and his little trio had run away, neteyam and lo-ak returned, you already had your lecture prepared, which was just a soft version of what Jake and Neytiri would say.
“What happened to not causing a ruckus? Dad is  going to kill you.”
“I Wouldn't let them talk to you like that, my y/n, not ever.”
---
You listened to Your father as he talked to the two boys, which turned out to be a lecture exactly as you had predicted, a-lot of yelling and “yes-sir’s”, you were praying to ey-wa that netetayam wouldnt take the blame again as he usually did, knowing that it would only make things worse. But as usual, he did the exact opposite of what you needed,
“It was my fault, I started the fight. They called y/n a freak,
told her she was strange.” He spoke, which only made jake angrier that his boys couldn't control themselves. Although he couldnt really blame neteyam, you were his mate, of course, the two of you hadn't completed the ritual, but you were head over heels for each other. Jake would certainly fight a metkayina boy for Neytiri. Anyday. By the end of the lecture, both lo-ak and neteyam were exhausted.
“Go apologize, he's the clan leader's son, make it count.” lo-ak huffed at that but still walked out, you did feel bad for him, you always did. But there was nothing you could do to change your dad's mind about this. He would just have to do it. When neteyam began to leave the hut, you started sitting up to go talk to him, not before your father could stop him though.
“Wait, neteyam. How did those other guys look?”
“Worse.”
“Good, thats good.”
You laughed.

*extra*
Later that day, when the eclipse darkened the sea, the entire family was all inside, eating dinner and talking about their days. You stayed outside, preferring to watch the fish swim at your feet. You weren't upset, per se, just mildly off-put. You didn't think that anoung hated you THAT much. You did notice the loud footsteps behind you on the wooden peer, clearly belonging to your dad, but you didn't say anything. When he sat next to you, and you lay down with your head in his lap.
“I heard about what happened today, did they hurt you? I'll beat them myself if they did” He threatened, a way-too serious look on his face for him to be joking. You let out a chuckle nonetheless, letting his hand place itself on the center of your back.
“No. They just made fun of me.” your voice was hushed, and it was apparent you were at least a little embarrassed by the incident. You didn't think you were a freak, you didn't know as much about this place as the natives did, so you were obviously excited about everything. That's the only reason you liked to collect the seaweed or look at the sand. You let out a sigh.
“Babygirl?” He spoke, beginning to rub circles into your back in a comforting motion.
“Yeah?” You were relaxed now, being in the arms of the only real father figure you've ever known. You swished your hand in the water  below, watching the glowing little guppies follow it around.
“If one of them boys ever speaks to you like that again, punch them so hard in the nose that they won't be able  breathe for a week.” He threatened, making a fist with his free hand and motioning a punch. You just stared up at him and snickered at how serious he was.
“Okay, i’ll make sure to do that next time” you laughed at the thought of you even remotely trying to fight, you were good with arrows, knives,  and medicines, but not fists.
“And if you don't want to, call me, or lo-ak, or even better,
Neteyam”

The path further into the floating mountains was all the worse to navigate thanks to the lack of light, the only useful guides you had were the faintly flickering bioluminescent lights from the forest deep below. The branches twisting around each other to create a naturally built bridge from mountain to mountain benefited from this, contrasting as a clear obscured line to your eyes against the glow underneath.
The easiest part of your journey, in hindsight, was just skipping along this line.
You weren’t exactly happy about this.
The more you left behind, the more you were freaked out that Neteyam or anyone else was onto your intentions already and hot on your trail right this moment. Imagining father making a beeline to you in the air with Bob, a cruel, merciless whistling arrow, made you all jittery and almost puking kind of nervous, pulling at the depths of your stomach.
Your rationality told you that it was a half an hour walk to your spot from the tent, and Neteyam would be hurrying the more he thought he wasn’t able to catch up with you along the way, so you had around twenty minutes until the whole family was panicking and raising the clan to look for you.
Tuk had gone missing once thanks to some hide and seek game with Lo’ak (she’d hidden so well and was waiting for her siblings to find her already, blindly sticking to the game for an entire day, not out of stubbornness but childish purity), and this was exactly what had gone down —
the resentful part of you questioned if father thinks of you highly enough to resort to that.
If something happened to you, he would maybe urge your brothers to search for you for a while, and drop it then — leaving you to your own devices happily.
Maybe.
Were you even worth it in his eyes for a search party? You wondered if he cared enough that you disappeared.
But that was a stupid, childish thought you knew you fantasized about a lot — perhaps this was why he’d called you immature. This was no mindset for a strong, independent, confident hunter. The thought father was right, even a miniscule bit was bitter on your tongue, worse than what he called black coffee.
Disappearing so you’d find out just how much he cared was unfair to mom, for one.
She had lost so much in such a short amount of time, the stories she sang poignantly about were hard to listen to without tearing up. Her home. The trees of voices, all the lost ancestors. Her father. Uncle Tsu’tey. Her first ikran, Seze. Loss upon loss you think there’d be nothing left to give anymore, but sky people’s fire was always hungry, always willing to waste more to grow bigger.
You wouldn’t forgive yourself for making her cry in your pursuit to punish father. Never.
You weren’t a child.
Just wanted to be one, sometimes.
Wanted father to babytalk you, pet your head longer than a passing touch as he walked away hurriedly to attend to other matters, make beads for your braids the way he always did from pretty stones he found on ponds, carve you little trinkets when you graciously had to give up your toys to Lo’ak and Kiri’s greed.
Your neck piece was all them in fact, he’d see it if he ever paid enough attention, or perhaps it was all insignificant to him, five kids meant countless belongings for each individual child had been passed down from his hands, it would be a miracle for father to recognize you still wore his clumsy creations. But again, it had been too long since he’d even looked at you affectionately, he wouldn’t See.
He’d transferred those habits entirely to Neteyam at one point in time.
Your older brother would always ruffle Lo’ak’s hair and tease him the way father used to, comfort him in his own playful way, and even though the younger looked discontent at being babied, you knew he was happy Neteyam was quite literally his shadow to look after him through tough times — including shielding from father’s line of fire. In return, he was suffering from being a foil to the older son, you understood the struggle because you were going through the same comparison, you just weren’t obsessed with catching and living up to father as much as Lo’ak did.
Win some, lose some, I guess.
Plus, Neteyam was trembling under the massive planet-weight pressure, he had to set the standard, he had to live up to the older brother title. He was becoming more of a father figure to Tuk as days passed and the Olo’eyktan became more transparent from his family’s life as a dad to five.
Besides, Lo’ak made trouble enough for two people to go around that you felt bad for your big brother, Kiri was thankfully more mellow (despite frequently hanging out together with him and Spider) compared to him that Neteyam could breathe, not having to divide his attention.
You were in awe of her about how disconnected she was from all the changing dynamics. She had her own problems you could never understand, more spiritual than your grandmother, and ever the ethereal soul who you thought would disappear into Eywa if flesh wasn’t holding her down to Eywa’eveng.
You were the teeniest, tiniest bit jealous of her (and Tuk) holding the softer sides of father, the boys thought he was deliberately softer because they were girls — but you were also a girl, so why weren’t you allowed in?
Well, thanks to that, you’d gotten closer with Neteyam and known him better after the whole clan had settled on High Camp, so it wasn’t all that bad. You could badmouth father all day long sitting on some rock and make him laugh abashedly, guilty that he was smiling along with the trashing of the father’s name he respected so much — it was therapy, as Norm had taught humans frequently sought back on earth. It got you trying some things with Neteyam, becoming more of a companion and ranting buddy for him who he could be honest and open with, so that he didn’t have to worry about taking up a larger role in your life to fill father’s missing presence. You were concerned about him more than he could be concerned about you.
That got you contemplating if father had noticed how comfortable his two oldest children were with each other that it was always Neteyam who he sent after you. A girl could dream, no? For one moment, it wasn’t because it was Neteyam’s responsibility, but because father was paying attention to how his kids got along.
The image of him pushed you to be frantically fast to reach your destination as the fear returned with might. If he caught you right now when you had no ikran to prove him wrong, the punishment he was sure to give would be way more humiliating, you at least wanted something in your name to taunt him with if you were going down anyways.
A smile crept up your face at imagining him discombobulated and speechless, unable to pick out one thing that you did wrong.
The carelessness that came with your speed combined with how dark it was to see where to clutch and put your feet on caused you to slip up countless times when climbing, the sharp rocks scraping the insides of your palms and insides of your forearms, lifting your skin up. What you cared about more than the pain was that the blood was now tracking material for your family to sniff you out — you couldn’t exactly wipe the rocks clean, so you carried on with a hammering heart, more afraid of father ruining your perfect moment than whatever ikran that would soon be going straight for your throat.
At least you were able to wash the blood off your hands in the waterfall.
Downside? You couldn’t see shit. With your bare back flushed straight to the wall of rock and your feet feeling out the thin edge, the shrill cry of ikrans and the roaring of water was about to overwhelm your senses too much to pay attention —
and you slipped.
The shriek that ripped out of you at the sensation of falling and the drop of your stomach alone almost made you pass out, and for a split second it was a good thing that you wouldn’t feel the moment you died, but your body, once again, was one step ahead of you, it twisted in the air the last second and your hands gripped the ledge.
The wet rock and your blood made all that your life was hanging on slippery as you dangled into the abyss, swaying with the strong winds at this height.
You didn’t know if it was the adrenaline or the nervousness, but something made you laugh out loud, and the bubbling laughter continued until you were able to pull yourself up safely at the ikran rookery, finally.
Looking around like a fish out of water, how you hadn’t cracked your skull open shooting down to the forest below was a total miracle.
You’d made it?
No one was there to witness what you just pulled off in total darkness. Your whole body was shaking, and you weren’t even chosen by an ikran yet. This was happening. Shit. This was totally happening!
Your excited and terrified, “Hell yeah!” went unheard apart from your aerial crowd.
But.
One among them answered your holler with its own that cut into the night like a battle horn. It was the closest one to you that was apparently watching you the whole time, starting to roar at you and twitching on its feet, shadow in the night informing you of its movements.
You’d seen from Neteyam and Lo’ak’s iknimayas that you only had a few seconds to pull your shit together until it attacked, this was meant to be dangerous, serious, you could end up as a late night snack to them if things went wrong, but you couldn’t stop grinning from ear to ear that it had chosen you.
You were chosen.
It wanted you as its rider.
If only father could see you now. The sensation of being the one — being special was unmatched. Now you could somehow get the fraction of the high he must have felt as Toruk Makto.
The, “Let’s fucking go!” that left you kept echoing into the night as you lunged at it, dodging to the left when it snapped at your head, hooking one arm around the ikran’s slender neck and clamping your legs around it the moment it started thrashing around wildly.
You didn’t know why father had made a big deal out of it. You formed tsaheylu in no time, breaking Neteyam’s record — and you didn’t even have the rope to hoop around its neck and jaw.
Firstborn daughter excellence.
Confidence restored and triumphing wildly to the pulse of your heart, the flickering smile on your face in wonder turned into a full-fledged smirk. At that moment, nothing mattered. It was just you and your victory. Proving father wrong.
Feeling the ikran’s lifeforce through the bond, a shiver went down your back as his beady eye looked up at you, pupil shrinking and expanding rapidly while you both took a minute to catch your breaths after the fierce wrestling.
“Gotcha,” you panted. “You’re mine now.”
The adrenaline made everything sparkle and shine, your spirits soaring high and unbothered about literally anything else in the world, and for one glorious moment, lost in the memories of your brothers’ iknimayas boasting with cheers from the clan and sometimes encouraging, sometimes fearful screams of your parents, your spirit sought them out to be soaked in the same pride — forgetting that it was night and nobody was there to celebrate you.
You were all alone.
The smile dropped from your face and crashed down like paper thin porcelain upon the slightest movement.
Right.
You’d forgotten you were doing this out of spite. It snuffed every twinkle of magic away from the previously shimmering milestone of your life.
Your ikran felt the crushing disappointment through your connection and chirped at you, almost like an excited sibling pulling on your arm to show you something, weirdly comforting. Mom’s ikran was a spitfire, but also nurturing — this one felt different somehow, you felt him bouncing from wall to wall in your head, hyperactive and cheerful.
Flying! He wanted to fly!
The first flight sealed the bond, after all.
You weren’t alone even if none of your family members were here to share the joy — you had your new buddy. And the drop of gravity was thrilling this time, not the terrifying chaos that had your asshole shriveling up as it was when you’d missed your step.
The flights with mom were something you looked forward to, drying up in frequency as you aged, you’d missed the wind on your body and the greenery dancing below as you maneuvered in the air — but mom reserved nighttime rides for father only, and after the move to High Camp, the skimpering chance you could get your way if you begged cutely enough was gone too. You’d never flown at night.
The sight was out of this world. The stars leaving a glowing trail above you, the forest pulsing with faint purple, green and blue lights underneath, everything was elevated in beauty because darkness let them shine.
You made loops in the air with your ikran, got as high in the air as you could before your breath thinned, and scraped at the tips of trees before shooting up again, all the while laughter you’ve never screamed before bubbled out of you.
And you were all alone. There was no mom to gleefully taunt your ikran with hers to get both of you dancing in the air. There was no father to watch on with a small smile he was fighting. There was no Neteyam to stop you from dipping too close to the ground, and no Lo’ak to challenge you to get closer to race with him — no Kiri to complain how all of you were being so childish, how stupid this was all the while she was the worst of you all, instigating all the chaos.
No Tuk in your mom’s lap whining about you guys leaving her off the fun.
Instead, there was the scent of a bogey in the air, snapping you out of the haze of sorrow.
When had you ventured out further into unprotected territory?
Linked with your thought process, the ikran stopped advancing forward and started beating his wings downward to stay unmoving, you observed the surroundings to get a better feeling of where you were, and noticed this was around the old shack, artificial lights were gliding between the leaves and branches that obscured your view of just who was roaming the grounds at night, definitely not a natural part of the forest’s flora.
Father’s voice materialized in your head, drilled into you and your siblings’ heads over and over again. If you come across any threat at all, do not engage, fall back and inform me. Got it? You call for me first.
And that split second of being afraid was your death sentence — that father would be so angry at you for your ignorance, amateurism, carelessness and idiocy that he could throw you out of the family for almost leading the demons to base simply by being there that they could figure out what direction you’d come from. That moment of weakness was enough for someone to snipe you out, and get you falling down from your ikran straight into the forest below, the cries of your new friend falling silent on your ears as you did your best to hug giant leaves to cushion your fall to the best of your ability. .
Barely any time was left for you to shake the disorienting motion sickness off, you couldn’t even attempt to run into the accepting, protective hands of the forest before whoever just shot at you was onto you, harshly gripping your arms and raising you up.
Father’s gonna be so mad if he finds out. Shit, I gotta get out of this.
But… Avatars? In full camo, armored, even. You hadn’t heard of this from anybody in camp!
“Damn! Didn’t actually think you’d be able to land the shot from all of that tree, man! Up-top!”
Two of them high-fived, you were actually going to be sick.
Thumb between his belt and stomach, another Avatar strutted towards you. The saunter and confidence meant that he was their leader. “Now, now… What do we have here?”
“A native.” You were being pushed down on your knees, one hand being grabbed and shown like a trophy. Just how many were there? You couldn't calm yourself enough to focus! “Four fingers.”
The speaker this time was a woman. “How unusual. Those monkeys don’t leave their coven at night.”
“Where were you flying, little bird?” The leader, a sleazy smirk on his face, leaned down to take a good look at you. “Leading away from the nest, perhaps?”
“She don’t understand, Colonel, don’t bother. Ya think Sully could ever manage teaching one word of English to those?”
“Watch how she learns in three seconds.” He yanked on your queue so hard you saw white light in this hour of darkness — and when your vision came back, a screen with your father’s face was being shoved to your face. “Jake Sully. Toruc Mactoe. Where is he?”
You screamed when he pulled with increasing strength, keeping up with the act you didn’t understand. And the state of pain and terror massively helped, contributing to you looking frantic and lost, only knowing that you were being zapped to your core.
“Seems like I don’t need to ask you.” His fingers snapped your head back to get a good look at your earpiece, late to notice you had it on at all because of the dark. “Can directly ask the man himself.”
All you could form to think was, ‘Father’s gonna kill me for this. He’s actually gonna kill me this time.’
You weren't terrified of what the Avatars would do to you. You were afraid of him.

One empty shell from the reloaded machine gun flew away, tinkling hollow when it fell down, and rolled until it stopped in a small pool of water that had formed on the jagged ground of the cave systems. In the scarlet and orange glow of the campfire he’d haphazardly put together right outside of their home out of impatience after Neytiri had basically thrown him out, Jake almost mistook the liquid for blood.
An ominous cloud of dread settled on his shoulders, a paranoia every father tended to go through.
“Big Brother, this is Devil Dog. State your status, over.”
Neteyam didn’t miss a beat to answer, thankfully. “Devil Dog, this is Big Brother. I’m still en route to Foxcove, over.”
“How much longer?”
“Ten minutes at best, sir. Over.”
What he wanted to say was how come he hadn’t met you halfway, but it was empty talk. No need to stress the boy out. “Devil Dog signing out.”
This girl was half the reason for the wrinkles on his forehead, Jesus Christ. He was basically waiting you out like a father sitting in the dark to ambush his daughter who had snuck out at night, for that single glorious moment of yeah that’s right, you got caught, after the light would come on to ruin that moment of relief of successfully making it back in.
His mate had scolded him to be nice and understanding, a Marine was anything but, the closest he could compromise was not being as mean to you than he had to be. Sassing, “So how was your Iknimaya?” like he planned was out the window — Neytiri was spot-on to say the girl would simply give the same mean energy right back at him, and that could only mean another erupting volcano of a fight and a good night’s sleep ruined for him, overthinking where he went wrong and how else he could have salvaged the situation.
He’d just make you tend to the ikrans for a week for some patience practice, cleaning shit for hours on a daily basis would certainly throw the temporary whim of the rite of passage hyperfixation out of your system. The possibility of you shouting you hated him was unavoidable, but Jake had to get his point across, no matter how terribly it nauseated him to hear something like that from his child.
It was strange to remember he couldn’t care less for what people thought of him in the past. Some shithead he wouldn’t give a rat’s ass about hated Jake’s guts? Good. He was living in their head rent free, it was fun even — Neytiri too, Jake absolutely enjoyed her hating game at first.
Being legitimately resented by his very own child, though, was a heartbreak he didn’t expect to hurt him the way it did, knocking air off his lungs the first time he heard it. A burning stab right in his heart that wouldn’t go away until he had to hear it for himself you hadn’t meant any of what you said.
Because that said hate actually stemmed from hurt Jake must have inflicted. Because you could actually despise him, and never allow him to reconnect with you again if he could ever manage to garner the courage to reach out to you — a mightier challenge than hunting Toruk in the sense it actually scared him.
His teenage daughter. Scared him.
Jake didn’t know what to do about it, he couldn’t even show what exactly this made him feel, too ashamed and proud for it in the first place.
The growing distance between you and him was an uneasy, frightened bird he tried to shush and calm in his heart in favor of other pressing matters that drilled small holes in the depths of his stomach, and over time, those little holes had fused together to create one big pit with greater gravitational pull than the sun — until Jake didn’t know how to stitch them back together anymore.
He told himself he would talk to you later, for sure. The morning after every argument, every fight, every jab from you he snapped at he would try to make amends for, definitely.
And then he didn’t.
“What is this, are you palulukan ambushing prey? I told you to make up with her, not prepare for hunting.”
Jake shook his head, dropping the machine gun back inside the crate. The warmed metal was some sort of consolation to his nerves. Marine habit. Always felt safer with a gun near. (Or was it the American in him?) “Neytiri,” he acknowledged, bobbing his head. “I’m just passing time.”
“What do you think will happen when she comes back and sees you waiting for her like this?”
Ah, like the old times when Jake couldn’t do one thing right in her eyes. “Yes, ma’am,” he said playfully, but with no mirth behind it, closing the crate with a muffled thunk. With nothing to do with them, one elbow went to his knee and the other hand’s fingers started a rhythm on the lid he’d just shut.
His mate’s hand gingerly came down on his shoulder, kneading the nerves. “Just talk to her, Ma’Jake.”
“I don’t know how to,” he admitted, he covered her fingers on her shoulder with his, and she immediately held his hand back. “Don’t know what to even tell her.” He gave an exhale from the deeper, tired parts of his soul, gazing at the path leading away from their tent. “With Neteyam and Lo’ak, it’s easy. I tell ‘em what to do and they—”
Neytiri took a seat next to him, gathering their hands together. “Suffer just the same.” Jake was about to brush her off, but she didn’t relent. “What you’re doing is hurting them.”
This now was about all of their children rather than you, specifically. Neytiri was trying to get him to see the bigger picture first before moving to cover what he did wrong with each child of his, they had had this conversation countless times before.
Here we go again, Jake thought.
“Doesn’t matter if that’s what it takes to keep them safe.”
“Does it?” Neytiri leaned in, and calmness washed over him despite the disturbing nature of what she was saying. “Does it keep them safe? Or push them to act out more, get in worse situations?”
He grimaced. “I have to—”
“You feel like you have to.” His mate shook their clasped hands, rattling his bones. “I keep my children safe with trust and honesty. Transparence, Ma’Jake. So that they listen to me when I mean it because they See me. You shut them out.” Her lips bared to show her pearly teeth as she was practically beseeching him. “You don’t get your children’s trust by treating them like a squad.”
“They trust me plenty.”
“They trust Olo’eyktan. Toruk Makto. What about their father?”
“I make sure they’re safe.” Neytiri dropped his hands with an agitated snarl, she thought they were back at the beginning again, he couldn’t make her truly understand no matter what he did. He poured his heart out through their tsaheylu everytime, but her values and beliefs were wired so differently from his at the end of the day. “I make sure they stay where I want them to stay for their own good.” Jake shook his head, his voice soft, hushed. No force behind it when Neytiri was heated in return. “One day they’ll understand.”
“They won’t if you never tell them.”
“Tell them what?” Jake asked. “That I’m being harsh on them to prepare them for war? You think they’ll take it seriously after this?”
“Na’vi were in war long before you. There will be wars after you. No parent sullied his child’s happiness for the price of becoming a warrior. You still don’t get our ways even after all these years.”
“The sky people’s way,” Jake emphasized with his arms. “I have to teach them how they think, what they go through, so they know what they’ll be facing, okay? I can’t simply teach them by telling them.”
“You’re deluding yourself, Jake. Contradicting.” Neytiri was gentle in her cruelty, the flickering flames burned less than her amber eyes. “Tuk and Kiri are getting none of this. I know your heart isn’t allowing you. Why can’t you do the same for your other children?”
Because he had gone too far already with the older three.
Trial and error.
He couldn’t take back the things he did and say back — and quite honestly? Jake was being pulled from all sides to sit down and rethink his parenting. All he thought anymore was how to protect his family, frequent nightmares of losing his children in gruesome ways were haunting his every step.
A father protects his children, that’s what gives him meaning.
Jake had his own desperate ways to do so.
He opened his mouth to say something back, anything, but was interrupted by the communication line coming on. “Dad.”
Jake immediately knew something was wrong, body sitting ramrod straight. If the frantic breathing and barely controlled voice wasn’t any indication of it, his eldest’s behavior was. Neteyam didn’t slip up in the codenames like Lo’ak did, dropped all formalities only when he was borderline panicking.
“Dad. I’m sorry, dad, sir, I can’t find her, dad, I’ve looked everywhere around here, I thought maybe she was hiding underwater, behind rocks—but I can’t, I can’t—.”
“Slow down.” Jake could barely contain his own panic rising from the state his son was in. The boy wasn’t able to see it, but he couldn’t stop himself from leaning in as if Neteyam was right in front of him, and started gesturing with his hand. “Slow down, son.”
“Dad—”
Jake tsk-ed. “Neteyam, slow. Slow.”
Neytiri took his elbow. “What is it?”
He told her to wait with his gaze, and turned his attention back to Neteyam. This could only mean one thing, he was praying to be wrong — needed clarification. “Now tell me calmer. What’s going on?”
“She’s never been here. She never came here in the first place. There’s no sign of her. No trace. I’ve tracked.”
Jake’s instant response was fear. Domineering, ice-cold, cutting fear. Bodily and emotionally both. You were clockwork, similar to him in having unchanging routines and patterns. Angry? Went for a walk. Depressed? No talking to anyone until it passed. Happy? Wanted to go to the forest to spend time with your siblings and always craved sweet fruit. Didn’t want to be around anyone? Hid in the little bioluminescent cove with a pond two little mountains away, always. Always.
Neytiri sensed this, observing the change of demeanor in him.“Ma’Jake?”
“Okay, son.” He seized back control. One missing child was enough. “Stay right there and don’t move. I’ll contact you.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Jake,” Neytiri hissed finally, at the end of her ropes.
“She didn’t go to the cove,” he said, face icy neutral as always, but his eyes showed dizzying concern. Neytiri put a hand on her mouth as Jake wasted no time in changing channels. “Night Owl, this is Devil Dog. Come in.” He couldn’t even wait two seconds before trying again. “Night Owl, what is your status? Where are you?”
Silence.
The more fear dug deeper into his skin, the more his anger and annoyance soared up, his tail was whipping the air erratically, the finger on the earpiece could send the metal right into his brain with how hard he was pressing on it. “I know you can hear me. This is no time for playing games. You know what you did to your brother? Do you know how panicked he was, not being able to find you—”
Then Jake remembered what Neytiri advised, he didn’t change strategies because she was right next to him to dig his eyes out, but because his heart was picking up its pace by the second. “Tell me where you are, I’ll leave you alone, I promise, alright? If you’re somewhere open, get to safety, I’m only asking this from you. Or else—”
“Don’t.” Neytiri raised a warning finger at him, voice just above a whisper so they could hear their daughter if she decided to cut in. “Threaten her.”
He couldn’t stop her from snatching the communication device off of him. “Ma’ite, it’s mom. Can you talk to me at least?”
His ears twitched at picking up on you responding, not quite making out the words.
Jake’s eyes shut close for a long time as his whole eyebrow line migrated upwards, he physically had to get a few steps between him and the earpiece so the obliviating worry that’d almost blinded him wouldn’t cause him to say something he’d greatly regret later. He could feel himself deflating. A migraine could be coming anytime soon.
You wouldn’t even acknowledge his existence but the moment your mother interrupted, you did? Fine. Fine. He didn’t care. Jake could live with it. At least you were alive.
A rippling shudder shook him the moment that thought hit him, an image of you lying dead in a ditch, pale blue, flashing in his mind, he had to run a hand down his face.
When Jake looked back, irked by the silence, he found Neytiri standing completely stock-still. And all of a sudden, her petrifying glare was on him, ears pinned all the way back, hands gradually starting to tremble.
“Neytiri?”
She wordlessly handed him the device, and with a deep frown, Jake put it back in his ear.
“Hi there Corporal, you hear me? Yeah, I know you do. As much as I’m charmed by the fatherly love I could give you a big old sloppy wet kiss, we have unfinished business.”
And the ground disappeared right under Jake’s feet, plunging him into hell itself.
