#sunny needs a break

it’s weird to say (or maybe it’s not) that i haven’t found any joy in writing recently (no shit, i’ve been absent from here and a03 for months). maybe i’m in a slump. unmotivated. or maybe it’s because i haven’t heavily hyperfixated on something in a bit. regardless of whatever may have my brain in the state it is, i can say that i’ve been feeling rather stressed.

a lot of people want a second part to a heart’s a heavy burden. i think about it a lot (mostly due to the amount of people asking for it (i still get messages to my inbox a lot)), and my god do i want to give y’all the happy ending you deserve.

i’ve just been thinking about it so much and even though i have no motivation to write, it feels like there’s this.. pressure to write that second part. but every time i try, it falls apart between my fingers. i don’t want to change canon. i still want howl and sophie to have their relationship. the whole point of the fic was just to write while i watched the movie for what was probably my hundredth time- i never intended for it to blow up like it did (i appreciate and love you all), but it was never meant to have a second part.

i think for now, and to give my brain some time to think, i will be going on a temporary hiatus. for how long, i’m unsure. any requests for fics will be written when i am back, but man do i need a break from this app. a break from writing in general because everything i put together feels rushed or just terrible. i have like seven wips started and i’m stressing myself about finishing them when in reality, i could take my time.

it’s weird, i’m tired and squinting at my screen at 2:59am because i can’t see shit.

Recently saw a post that said "People only like to ship Sunflower before the incident or after the good ending when they've had extensive therapy and that means it's toxic!!" Listen personally I don't ship Sunflower but like? Shut up?

Obviously they BOTH need a lot of therapy and healing before they can do something like start a relationship or even heal from the incident in general. You think Sunny's just gonna drop the bombshell that he killed Mari and helped hang her and immediately go back to dating Kel or Aubrey? In fact, I think all 5 of them need therapy because Kel, Aubrey and Hero now have to heal and accept the truth if they ever want to forgive Sunny and Basil.

So yeah if you say that people who acknowledge when others need therapy before getting into a relationship are toxic then you're stupid af.

And as for the pre incident shipping-- yeah, based on how Sunny views him in headspace its fair to say there might have been a crush when they were younger, but of course everyone dismisses that because Aubrey is a girl and so main character must be shipped with said girl.

If you're saying Suntan or Sunburn is perfectly healthy right after The Truth but that Sunflower is toxic and unrealistic, I think you just hate Basil. Because in that case there's no way any of Sunny or Basil's ships are good relationships considering Kel and Aubrey have been lied to for 4 years about the death of a girl they loved and cared about.
