Started reading this new fanfic and tbh I’m in love with it. So here’s some doodles of it!

Oh and here’s my idea of what ‘She’ looks like (my running theory is that he’s a fae or sm)

The Rising Volt Tacklers as Caregivers

(this post is specifically about the adults, if you wanna know my hcs for Liko, Roy, and Dot or any of the Pokemon of the crew as CGs or Regressors feel free to ask)

Friede is a very adaptable Caregiver. Whatever kind of little you are, he can match. He's best when winging it, so not much for schedules. He's surprisingly a big stickler for rules, like no baby on the top deck unsupervised, because those kinds of things are there to keep you Safe. When not with the little he's a massive worry wort, you're constantly on his mind even when left with someone else. He's just concerned you're not having a good time. Sensitive babies make him anxious, he desperately wants to avoid making them cry but.. He can be a lot.

Murdock loves a little he can hold on his hip. He loves to cook with and for littles, watch them eat, clean them up if they make a mess. He'll experiment and try all sorts of things for you if you're a picky eater, anything for his baby. This man has baby fever like you wouldn't believe. Ten THOUSAND photos of his baby on his rotom phone, at least. He's who Friede goes to if he makes the baby cry on accident, because he is a master of stopping water works. He's the best there is. I think the only kind of little he'd struggle with is someone who's grumpy or fussy no matter what, mostly because he'd take it very personally and be very broken up about it, worried about being a bad caregiver. He'd go crazy trying to become the perfect CG.

Orla doesn't really know the Dos and Don'ts of babycare. What do you MEAN a baby can't held disassemble an alarm clock? That's what she was doing as a kid! You have to be a very specific kind of little to find Orla's baby activities entertaining, as she completely does her own thing with you along for the ride. Like Murdock she can very easily pick you up, at least, though she's less on her hip and more a piggy back kind of gal. You're at high risk of boo-boos running around with Orla, luckly she always carry's bandages and gives the BEST healing kisses.

Mollie seems like the type who's really awkward around kids under a certain age. She's not a baby person, she does not want to hold the baby she does not want to baby talk the baby, she thinks they're kinda yucky and a pain, no offense. She does better with older kids she could have a conversation with, but even then she's entirely too polite and might snap someone out of littlespace by talking to them like an adult. The ONLY time she's good with a little is when they've regressed while sick. She's a doctor and she takes that role very seriously, so if you need to be baby talked into taking medicine, or blown raspberries while she's taking your temperature, she'll do it, and you might even catch a little genuine smile on her face while she does.

Ludlow is a very go with the flow kind of CG. He does best with a stationary little, a baby having tummy time or someone so sleepy they just can't seem to move. He tells stories in a very soothing voice, and offers the best hugs and comfort on the ship. Though again, he's really only good with a baby willing to sit and stay with him. If you were to get up and start waddling away, he'd follow until the two of you come across someone to take over for him and return to his fishing spot. He also could easily pick you up and hold you on his hip.

I'm working on a little set of post canon vignettes for freehoun and freemance with the current wips I have going being:

Barney trying to get Gordon to open up to him after one of his nightmares.

Barney and Alyx taking care of Gordon after the events of the games because his health is fucked but I also feel like Gordon would fight everyone on not having to stay in the infirmary 24/7 so. Compromises?

Gordon and Alyx hanging out while she makes D0G puppies which I've talked abt in my server a lot but it's like, my lil baby rn

And then the misc fics I've been working on slowly since school got out:

A very self indulgent Barney/Lauren white forest reunion fic because Look I love them and I know she's not canon but she's real in my heart forever and ever and there's like. Six fics in the tag last I checked

The Gordon Freeman recovery arc fic of my dreams because I have So Much to say about his health. Like yeah he's got the morphine withdrawal but guys he's. He's not doing good post-canon and I think he deserves to be taken care of. Like not even Just the addiction he probably has to opioids but he's also probably had breaks/fractured he never realized were there or had to power through, I like to think he has a lot of chronic pain in the end because of how much he's had to do? And his mental health is very shot and dead and that's another thing I wanna focus on

alright. what is there to say about her that y'all don't already know and feel.. hmm

she's a precious bean, she is fierce and brave and adorable.

she presumably made the trip to Meridian all by herself (if there was more detail about her journey that I'm forgetting right now I apologize), she saw the struggles her tribe was facing and decided to step up and figure out a way she could help, determined to do her part even if it was against the Utaru ways, in order to help preserve them and their future.

she's optimistic but not oblivious to the things going on around her, she was obviously impressive and eager enough to catch Talanah's attention and be allowed to become her Thrush, and we know she can handle herself.

I think in a lot of ways she also kind of mirrors a younger Zo, though not as traumatised, hopefully. (though, who knows. don't remember if we ever learn more about her family, if they're still around and if so where, and how they're doing. so I guess in theory she could be dealing with more personal grief as well, in addition to the general Utaru grief over their lands failing them and their Land Gods' ailments) they're both proactive, caring individuals, who put the greater good of their tribe above the ways of the tribe when necessary.

anyway, the rest of the reasons I like her are more to do with shipping her with Beta (and possibly Sokorra bc why not. you know me and my love of ot3s. plus we've already talked lake Tallneck date night, lol)

I just think she would be the perfect candidate to get Beta out of her shell (and into the sun). and to be able to handle her at her worst, I guess. not to take her bullshit or lashing out without complaint, just to be understanding and willing to listen once she apologises. to help her heal from past hurts and trauma. Milu while exciteable still seems like a solid, calm character. like, someone who would listen if you had irrational worries or if you were struggling to stay present in the moment.

(am I projecting? naaaaaaah. shut up)

and she seems interested enough in what Talanah has told her about Aloy's journey thus far, that she'd probably be interested to hear more about Beta and anything.. focus-related. definitely more than willing to try and help with what's coming next.

plus, she's still in training, so getting Beta on board with that might not be a bad idea, she knows enough to help her with the basics, and the rest they can learn together. I think their different areas of expertise would be good and quite complementary.

also, she's cute. have I mentioned that? I just love her so much. her excited lil fists give me life and I just want her around forever and always.

also - she's definitely more out-going than Beta, so I think that would help as well.

eeaao it hits sooooo fucking hard, the way that joy would search for her mom in every universe and how there's so much hurt there and it feels worse because there's so much love and it feels like betrayal but she keeps trying because who else could ever know what she knows who else could connect to all of her pain and anger and fear and she keeps reaching out only finally stopping when her mom learns how to reach back

joy wants her mom's permission to go, to be let go and no longer connected to her mother so that she loses that hurt but her mother knows how terrible it feels to lose the hurt because the love wilts as well, when your parent lets you go when what you really needed and wanted was their support and she reaches out and she says wait and she says this simple life with you is enough for me, it is a joyous life to me, i want you here just.. eeaao bro
