Full Pink Moon !

Night Sky Event This Easter Week:

There will be a full moon this week. The famous "Pink Moon" will grace the night sky this week, and if you are into sky-gazing, here's what you should expect, according to Forbes.

Monday and Tuesday (April 3 and 4): Afternoon Moon

You don't always have to wait until it gets dark to go moon-gazing. As the Moon approaches its full phase each month, it's visible in the southeastern and eastern sky some hours before sunset. So it's a great idea to point a small telescope or a pair of binoculars at our natural satellite. The closer it is to sunset, the brighter the Moon will appear.

Thursday (April 6): Full 'Pink Moon' Rises

Today, the entire phase of our natural satellite in orbit has been reached. The ideal time to see the first full Moon of spring in the northern hemisphere tonight is at the moonrise as it will be visible on the eastern horizon.

While it is a subdued orange color close to the horizon, use binoculars to identify its big craters and ancient oceans of lava. It won't be possible to gaze at it closely once it has risen higher in the sky.

Friday (April 7): Moon and Spica

Tonight is a good night to look for Spica using the now 92%-lit waning gibbous Moon, 3° away, as your guide. Look southeast about an hour after sunset, though it's a rising sight so visible for the rest of the night.

🚨Severe Weather Threats Today ➡️ Tomorrow

A multi-pronged cold season storm system will march east across the country, bringing severe weather chances from the Plains into the South and a whopper of a snowstorm to the Northern U.S. The severe weather threat will include a risk for tornadoes, especially on Tuesday in the South.

The severe weather threats start tonight across the Central/Southern Plains.

Tornadoes Possible After Dark Tonight: Expect storms to form well after sunset tonight, perhaps as late as 10-midnight in the eastern portions of the High Plains. These storms will quickly crowd up and go at least somewhat linear, but a threat for tornadoes will exist given the strong low-level wind shear.

In addition to the tornado threat, damaging winds will be possible with the line as it moves east.

Hail should not be a huge threat except perhaps early on as storms are initially cellular. Hail sizes shouldn’t be too big regardless.

The environment features some really low cape but strong wind shear, which is very typical this time of year.

Expect storms to form in a band/linear complex with time tonight. A short window of more cellular modes is possible, but the wind shear vectors and degree of forcing both suggest crowded/linear modes will dominate with time.

Wind shear and instability tonight will certainly be sufficient for severe weather. It is actually possible some places in the risk area see rising temperatures through the night.

Tomorrow’s tornado threat from the SPC centers the tornado risk along/south of I-20 from Texas to Mississippi tomorrow.

Threat of Strong Tornadoes Tomorrow: Strong tornadoes will become increasingly likely across the South tomorrow, from extreme East Texas into Louisiana and into Mississippi. A line of storms will exist along the advancing cold front through the day, but more storms could form just ahead of this band, especially later in the day.

The wind shear is fairly strong tomorrow, so any isolated storms will pose the threat of strong tornadoes.

It is possible no storms form ahead of the advancing cold front if thick clouds exist through the day. Even if so, a threat of tornadoes along the line will still exist.

Watch for the degree of cloud breaks through the day tomorrow as one sign of whether isolated storms in the open warm sector are likely to organize into dangerous supercells.

While the tornado threat will exist through the day, the environmental peak will likely occur near and just after dark.

Damaging winds will be possible with any storms along the cold front, and large hail will certainly be possible with cellular storms ahead of the line.

As of right now, instability will likely be on the lower-end of what you look for this time of year, but small cloud breaks will make a big difference either way. Wind shear is also sufficient, especially further east away from the cold front.

The environment will feature very low cloud bases (Temperature/Dewpoint spreads below 10 generally), so any isolated storms will likely pose the threat of tornadoes given the 0-1km SRH of 240-350 through the region.

As of right now, models are hinting at a mixture of storm modes through the day and into the night tomorrow. How this evolves will likely be the determining factor as to the extent of the tornado threat tomorrow.

And if severe thunderstorms are not your thing, a big snowstorm will occur in the northern Plains.

Travel Nightmare: As the low pressure moves north and east and deepens, a big winter storm will take shape on the north and west side of the advancing system. Expect major travel problems across the Central and Northern Plains into likely midweek.

8-12 inches of snow is likely, especially across western Nebraska into the Dakotas.

Some local areas will certainly see more than a foot in that region.

There's a huge pile of a****** sitting here they're heading here and they are stupid they're trying to get into Florida there's a junk pile of them meaning there's millions of the border millions flying in. It is working that it is happening. And Trump didn't do anything except make a half-ass effort to make robots and it didn't work. Now there's a lot of people that say our son is nothing and is nobody and it's from them saying it their repulsively stupid you ever think like someone wants to dig other than you cuz you're not even you're just a fool so he says the only truth is I'm not as smart as the character yelling who might not have it now but he will and them actual laughing at him how's he going to do that taking our cars and stuff like that and they get into it and he said you're never going to listen to us at all your s*** heads too when you hear that song yeah they are but they have enough power to me it's nothing by comparison and he went wow that's awful so that's what I said. Cuz you know nothing that nobody so you don't know what I'm doing but they're horrifically big and it's the max and that's why the attitude it's not because they're stupid. So it's almost twice the size of the United States across it's a huge huge area and there's reasons why he fell most of the trumps were attacking him and they're trying to go north and he was probably the only obstacle there I'm at Daddy's there too and the far East of the northern hemisphere of the Russian continent or less and he is falling but won't be out for a few days after Justin and the amount of area that that represents is ginormous it is humongous it's probably 2,000 miles long and we will take that over sometime today and it'll be resistance and we will crush it then Michael too will fall and that will be tomorrow and well that's going on the Western hemisphere tonight Justin's areas will fall and he becomes Forrest Gump and becomes a loser that he looks like and he was holding his own against Trump and there are others too that felt that moron and he's going to have to join up with them and find out who they are along with his areas Michael too will fall and he was speeding up by Trump too and they're helping our son off and on they are doing things and he's trying to help them but they are trying to do things that are not for us at all but he wasn't mean or anything so there's those two and Daniel is in Asia those bases are under siege and heavy siege and he's around to the Middle Eastern in that parallel and it's below the others and he has a few that are in the caucuses and some in India and not many but his bases are under attack what is near Tunisia he thought that would help what you were saying and our son says it'll probably destroy whatever is entire area and it started to do that and he said why is that so huge and he seems scans and he thinks it's real and he goes this is what they're up to they're calling for help from the demons who would probably run by him he got an explosively mad and said you're all about you're all a bunch of twats and our son says why do you think I can't get any money you're all satanists and they're spoiled rotten and so he says it's actually true these people suck so bad and these warlock are having trouble with them too it is a war against these people they've been out there dying millions and millions and if the devil's not out by now is what we say too because it's been a ton of death there and small vortices everywhere and probably be out shortly it's not a really huge kju same in the United States and he's smaller and the guy is like not even out of there yet which is weird. Day the second

Bathing at the Moree Hot Mineral Baths started in 1895. A bore sunk into the Great Artesian Basin looking for water for irrigation accidentally found hot mineral waters, heated naturally to 41 degrees Celsius.

It’s been popular ever since and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over.

Bathing in mineral waters is a very European thing. When we last visited we found many people of European origin mainly Eastern European. One lady shocked us by sticking her open mouth right on top of the gushing waters-allowing the waters to flow through her mouth and back into the pool. As the young ‘uns say eeeeeeewwwwww. (My kids - who were young and with us on that trip - immediately left the pool and refused to ever go back again.)

Anyway we had heard there had been a 7 million dollar refurbishment to the baths recently and it was only a small detour so we thought we’d make a quick stop to check it out and if it looked promising spend a bit of time relaxing in the hot springs before continuing on our way again

But first we made a point of checking out the Silo Art at Barraba painted by Fintan Magee in April 2019 and the 28th set of silos to join the Australian Silo Art Trail. It’s called the Water Diviner and it’s a fine example of silo art.

We did stop then at the Moree Artesian Baths and spent a pleasant hour and a bit there. It’s changed a lot since we were last here and for the better. It’s still very popular with overseas visitors- instructions were in Chinese Japanese and Serbian in addition to English reflecting its clientele; but today there were very few people around so we virtually had the place to ourselves if you discount the life savers on duty.

The water today was 39.5 degrees and a bell periodically goes off to remind you to get out and have a bit of a rest. There’s a cold water pool -29.5 degrees today -and a picnic area with tables where you can sit and have a picnic lunch and a cold beverage after soaking in the hot water.

All in all well worth the 5 bucks each we paid as seniors😀 and a bit of a break from just driving.

We are camped tonight at Goondiwindi in Queensland savouring the first of what I hope will be many outback sunsets. Our caravan park comes with an attached billabong and it was a lovely way to end an otherwise not particularly eventful day, watching a crescent moon rise over the billabong.

There is an eclipse happening as I type this. A blood moon, in fact. And I can't see it because the moon is just above the horizon to my west. I live at the eastern base of a mountain, so sunsets are very early, and unfortunately the moonset just happened to go in that direction. I would have to actually climb a mountain to be able to see it tonight. But I can definitely feel it.

Maybe it's a good opportunity to go over my name here. It's kind of a throwaway, for anonymity's sake. Whatever the fuck anonymity really means anymore in this day and age. Like we're blatantly spied on every fucking day for money, so like... yeah. Not getting into that! No! XD But instead of just making a new name up, I kinda took a note from my old book and took this as an opportunity to resurrect an old self... that poor mangled zombie of a soul fragment... for a second time. The second coming of DZ. <insert fog and surreal godrays and lens flares and dramatic choral music>

DZ was a stupid nickname I was given when I formed my first band. We were really inspired by like... nu metal's fusion of metal and hip-hop elements. I played guitar, my friend... let's call him Flex... he played guitar and was really into Radiohead and stuff, he was a very good singer... and our third... he wanted to be called "Nightmare". He was a half French, half Black like 6' 5" dude who was really into anime. What a combo! And I was like... a recovering stoner who couldn't smoke weed anymore because I failed out of college from weed freakouts, but still wanted to be a cool stoner dude... but I would avoid weed like it was fucking sarin gas. That shit is spooky, don't look that up, I did to make sure it was spelled right and... yeah. I'm exceptionally sensitive lately so I really don't like being around dark things. Seeing a bodybag and biosuits just kinda send a big ripple of "nope" from my head to my toes. So... nope. But yeah, I played rhythm guitar in Drop-D, I was self-taught via tabulature, I loved Coheed and Cambria (which is how Flex and I found common ground musically) and like... Atreyu, and Method Man, and I still had like hardcore and metal roots like Converge and The Hope Conspiracy and shit. So my style was like... trying to fuse Method Man's flow and my very rough budding hip-hop lyricism - which makes me absolutely vomit in my mouth reading it now... - with metalcore rhythm guitar riffs and metal screams. We had some pretty cool songs, I thought. It was very different than what anyone else was doing, the only other music acts pretty much were like... jam bands and solo acoustic acts. So a metalcore/hip-hop/alternative fusion band was just like... probably really out of nowhere for people. We didn't really go anywhere. We were 3 vocalists and two guitarists, no bass, no drummer. We had programmed drum loops and no bass at all in our music. We performed once and we had to like sit down with a drummer last minute and teach him all of our songs in one practice. It was a thrilling first show, I remember it pretty clearly actually. It was a show at the college that I ended up going to, thrown by the radio station in the student center and there were like 5 people in there. All friends of ours. They got some kinda punkish band from New Jersey to come and play a gig. We opened for them. We were the only opener. Like... those poor guys! XD Oh man do I feel for them, I hope they got paid, I mean... it was an easy gig though so let's just put it at that.

So DZ came from... well... we used to go to Denny's at like 2AM to get shitty food and just talk music and write lyrics and drink shit tons of coffee. We ended up getting to know the old lady servers there by name and we even brought acoustics with us once and played a short set for them! I have no idea how it came around but they had this whole promotional campaign about the "D-Zone" or something. And it became a bit of an inside joke somehow. I don't even remember the joke, it was so long ago. But somehow I just sorta got attached the name. Like we would call going to Denny's going to the D-Zone. And maybe I was making a joke about like getting inspired and going to the Deez-Zone? I don't know, I don't remember. But it stuck for a long time. Like almost 10 years. Until I banished him. And then brought him back. And then banished that version of him. And... now I've brought him back again! Those are stories for another day.

What I wanted to talk about was the second half, which is the new alchemical infusion I've added to the DZ gene stew. Penumbra. It's very appropriate for the eclipse. The umbra is the darkest part of a celestial body's shadow. So when we have a lunar eclipse, the sun is on one side (A) and the Earth is in the middle (B) and the moon is on the other side (C). Like A -> B -> C So the light goes from A to B, and the shadow goes from B to C. And C captures light from A that manages to sneak by, and the rest is obscured by shadow. Cool. I'm trying to translate this stuff I'm reading on google to make it make more sense, I learned about all this very visually, it can be hard for me to put it in words. #artproblems So, the shadow is made up of 3 parts - the umbra (the darkest part of the shadow where light is completely blocked, like a new moon), the antumbra (the ring of light around a celestial shadow, like the eclipse halo shape) and the penumbra (a partial shadow, a partial covering, like a crescent moon). And penumbra kinda just came from that. Because I don't consider this part of myself "dark" really. I don't think there is really a lot of darkness left dwelling inside of me besides pain and fear. I think I've cast most of it out, resolved it. Sat down with the ghosts that haunted my head-house and gave them a nice big hug and gave them a copy of Casper, as inspiration that you don't always have to be a The Ring kind of ghost, you can be an Obi Wan Force ghost too. So I didn't really see this whole journal thing as like... a place to vent darkness. Though I definitely have. I never really associated myself with it. My intention is more about like... trying to shine through obscurity. Trying to speak through the fog, the shroud. I don't know if any of this makes sense, but it's a big thing for me.

I know a lot of creators that hit this wall where their future is just obscured, like a giant wave of fog hit in front and they can't like... see themselves as a published author, or a musician who has people who recommend their music, or a visual artist who sells paintings or has an installation in a gallery. I don't actually know any people who can see this first-hand. And I mean, these people like... can see in their heads very clearly an image of them selling a painting, and they believe wholeheartedly that it's going to happen. And I struggle to even be able to conjure up an image. Like my head just goes into a fog, I draw a blank. That thought just swims around in the pea soup, forever out of reach. And if you can't even imagine something. How could you possibly believe in it?

Like if I tell you to picture an apple, you can do that. Maybe not like close your eyes and magically a photorealistic apple appears floating on your eye lids like you could just reach out and grab it... but if I say red apple with yellow kinda stripey markings... you can picture that in your mind's eye. If I say picture you standing in front of a group of 40 people reading a poem you wrote, or singing a song you wrote, or showing a video you made, or paintings you made. And hearing them clap at the end? I don't know a lot of people who can do that. Even with that detail given. Which is weird, because they should be able to, with that level of detail. So it's like... a defense mechanism that makes you go blank or something? A mental fog thing. Seems like it to me.

So a big part of what I've been trying to do is kinda... un-obscure my mind's eye and try to shape what my new life is going to be. Most of my life so far has been very reactive, just going with the flow of the river of life, wherever the current takes me, and just making it work. Like my cat kinda. It's not like she's choosing that we're moving, she doesn't even know. She's just going to have a new home one day. And I can relate. But a big problem with that way of living... is that... get ready for a bit of a spooky moment, I guess, I can feel the anxiety bubbling a bit... if you're not calling the shots in your life... well, someone is. So... yeah. I know it's very easy to slip into the polar opposite side of that spectrum, I know a lot of people who have and do. To take full control of oneself and others, unfortunately way more other than self. To manipulate everything they can about life, control everything they can, to keep things safe and predictable. But too much obscurity and go-with-the-flow can also be very self-destructive. Balance, again, seems to be the key. And being adaptive and situationally appropriate with control and letting go. Discipline and impulsivity. Structure and spontaneity. This is a constant war between light and dark, order and chaos. Okay, war is not the right term... more like friction. Border friction is a fun term, kinda like that. So my darkness does tend to take the form of letting go. And a lot of good things can come from my darkness. I'm using it to nourish and acquaint myself with my inner light. So the two can work together. So I can explore my inner chaos and bring it into something coherent, hopefully something that inspires growth and healing.

I'm getting very tired, I should get to sleep. I don't know if that last bit made sense, my insecurity is creeping up a bit. I just felt like since the moon was on my mind, might as well explain my name. I'm still not 100% sure what the message of that is for me, it sounded right, it felt right, an impulse brought me to it. Maybe it's a reminder that it's good to keep some obscurity, some shadow, some mystery. Maybe it's about maintaining a balanced mix of darkness and light. Maybe it's just some edgy mysterious moon reference that doesn't mean fuck-all, if reducing meaning to like... absolutely nothing... is appealing to you, feel free to adopt that judgement. At the end of the day, it's a cover for a book. And knowing how much I fucking write... several books, I guess. I mean, it's not even the entire cover, it's just the author name part. So like... who cares. But even a 10 letter username has a story, and I just thought I'd share that.

With my visit to the Academy a success, I drove back to the cabin to stow the copies I'd made in my computer bag. Another errand I wanted to do tonight was to go by the Crossroads intersection and make another offering. I'd made a serious visit just the one time, when I'd not even been in town for a full week. I did that drive-by last Tuesday, but that was just flinging coins out the car window as I passed through. This evening, I think I need to park there and walk a circle around it, giving thanks and blessings to each direction.

My arrival in town neatly coincided with the new moon. I definitely appreciated my favorite waxing crescent with earthshine after I'd been here only a few days. With the waning crescent nearlry passing into the next new phase, it was a fine time to unload some unneeded energies. I'd have to give up on the idea of learning more about the Quartzite Rockburst Society beyond taking home the book of knowledge lectures and the mysterious puzzle box.

I wanted to start packing as much as I could in order to get on the road promptly tomorrow, but the crossroads errand wouldn't wait. There'd be time to do more packing after I get back from this ritual. I located my witchy bag and had a rummage through it for some herbs and an assortment of semi-precious gemstone chips. Another little airline bottle of rum and a few pinches of my black salt ought to complete the ritual.

I pulled out four sheets of joss paper and laid them out on the table in a two by two array. Next, I sprinkled a small pinch of black salt onto each. From the array of gemstone chips, I chose tigereye for grounding, labradorite to help release some of the pent-up emotions tied in with this visit, and the tiniest chip of jade onto each piece, where the jade acknowledged the wealth I'd gained while I was here, and a wish for that wealth to prosper in the town after I leave. I held the next packet aloft and repeated my incantation before walking to the right-hand side of the southern road and placing the packet onto the ground. It was a similar scene in the west and then in the north, the direction from which I had come. I was just finishing the fourth recital of the incantation when I saw someone approaching from the north. It was Andy and he looked rather drunk.

I still needed to put the final packet discretely onto the ground. Given the way Andy was lurching, I expected it would be fairly easy to just go ahead and do it, then catch up with him. When I placed the folded bindle onto the ground, I quietly said, "So Mote It Be!"

He fumbled a bit more and then extracted a bright green object about two inches across with six protrusions resembling some sort of connector socket. He held it out to me and I took it.

"Thanks, I think. Are you sure you don't want a ride?"

"Nah, I'm gonna clear my head. You get going. Month ends tomorrow!" Andy turned around a full 360 before he lurched off due East. That'd take him out to Spring Lake. Part One // Fall For You - Series List

The Howlies were an indie band, and as the frontman, Bucky Barnes was easily recognisable by his fans but not necessarily everyone that he met. But he wouldn’t risk it tonight, asking for a more private dining experience. Over time, the pair of you had grown used to sitting in a corner, secluded and away from the windows and doors, a single server at your immediate assistance if you paused for the briefest of moments or looked anywhere other than your date.

But tonight was different, you’d never been to this restaurant before. A brick building with the words shining like a beacon above the windows; ‘Valkyrie’. You made a curious glance at the menu framed outside the door, a blend of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food.

You most definitely didn’t expect to be taken to the roof terrace where a path lined with tea lights lead to the only table and chairs. The exotic trees and flowers surrounded the balcony and the fairy lights twinkling across the pergola made it cosy. Even more so with the backdrop of the fading sun, the flecks of stars almost peeking through the pink and purple sky. The glow warmed you from the inside, the last of the rays kissing your cheeks while Bucky guided you towards the table.

Bucky’s large hand rested against the small of your back and butterflies erupted in your stomach and the following pleasantries as he poured the wine, making small talk about one another’s days, kept that warmth flowing through your veins.

Deep down, you knew that someone would have to break the silence to begin the conversation. The serious one that you both knew you needed to have. Your fingers scrunched at the napkin in your lap, the anxiety of what could happen next was fraying your nerves.

“We need to -”

“I think I should-” Bucky laughed as you spoke over one another.

It had been so hard to be far away from him during his world tour. You had your job, commitments, your shared home to take care of. And this was sound you had longed to hear for months. But it only brought a twist to your heart because it reminded you that he had been back for weeks, and this was the first time you’d heard it.

“You go first,” you gestured and brought the wine to your lips, “I’m sure we are going to talk about the same thing anyway.”

Bucky nodded solemnly, “Well, what I was going to say is - I think I should quit the band.”

Quit the band. Had you heard that right? There is no way in hell that those words came out of Bucky Barnes’ mouth. With wide eyes, you finished the rest of your drink and continued to stare at him, unable to form a sentence while your mind raced with what the hell was going on. You thought he was going to break up with you, that he was away too long and knew you’d never go on tour with him permanently.

“Doll, talk to me.” His eyes flickered around the space and shifted in the seat, “I thought this was what you wanted?”

“What I wanted?” You frowned, “What do you want Bucky?”

“I’ve failed you lately, I always told you that I’d be strong enough to do this long-distance relationship but now we are together, living in our home, we are practically strangers. I’ve loved you from the start and I’m not going to let you go now for something that isn’t going to last forever.”

Before you could respond, a waitress appeared carrying the main course and refilled your glasses. You eyed him suspiciously, you didn’t want him to give up his dream. Not for anyone, and not for you.

When you met Bucky many years ago, you were a part of it all. You loved travelling the world with him on his first few gigs but then they got bigger and bigger. It took you away from the people you loved.

The second the waitress left, you reached forward and held his hand, “this is your dream. You can’t give that up.”

“I was thinking about it all while we were away.” Bucky shrugged but held onto your hand tightly, “Ever since the night you called when you were sick in those first couple of weeks. I hated not being there for you, to get more tissues, cook every soup - well pour the tin into a pan.”

You scoffed, knowing full well that Bucky had no clue about cooking soup.

Bucky sighed, “And then you left a voicemail, in tears, that fuckin’ jerk got the promotion over you. And where was I? At some Z-List party and not at home comforting you and telling you how amazing you are and how Stark Industries doesn’t deserve you.”

Tears fell and your voice cracked, “I thought you were going to end this.”

In an instant, Bucky was out of his seat, a blurred shape kneeling beside you and holding onto both your hands. “Nothing else matters, except you.”

You rested your forehead against Bucky’s, his hands cupped your cheeks and wiped away the tears, “This is a big decision, Buck.”

He pressed a light kiss to your lips, “And one that I can make tonight, tomorrow, next week. Let’s finish our food before it gets cold. I have a few more things planned for tonight.”

More things planned. This man was going to be the death of you, you swear. Not only was he going to change his career plans for you, but he still had more romantic tricks up his sleeve.

Lin turned the card over in her hand, looking for some sort of extra… anything, really. The scheduled family dinner wasn’t for a few days. Kya had taken the girls to the Eastern Air Temple for a women’s festival that both Lin and Pema had declined. Tenzin had taken the boys camping.

So why was Pema not taking advantage of the time to be truly alone?

It sure was what Lin had been planning on.

But now?

She sighed. It probably wouldn’t actually hurt. Pema was a good cook. They had actually shared a few conversations.

And then there was that night that Ikki fell asleep on Lin’s lap after waking up with a nightmare. Lin had sung Katara’s favorite lullaby to soothe the child to sleep.

It wasn’t until she heard Pema’s voice singing along that she realized how far her voice had been carrying. They sang together as Pema gently raised Ikki to her shoulder.

Pema had squeezed Lin’s shoulder on her way out of the room.

Lin shrugged, and added a new entry on her List of Changes in the Era of Korra.

The following evening, Lin arrived at the family compound without seeing anyone. She was glad she knew where to go. She entered the house, calling out to Pema so as not to scare her.

She peeked in the kitchen to see Pema putting the finishing touches on dinner.

“Thank you for your invitation, Pema.”

She could see Pema smile as she took a quick glance over her shoulder. “Come on in, Lin. It’s just the two of us tonight. No need to stand on ceremony.”

Lin cleared her throat. “I would have thought you would be relishing your alone time.” She set a basket of fruit beside the sink.

Pema looked up again, her eyes widening at the large basket. “Lin, what a beautiful basket. May I use these mangoes with dinner?”

Lin smiled. “Sure. Wouldn’t want them to go to waste. Can I help?”

Hours later, Tenzin heard Meelo shouting for him.

“Dad! Dad! Dad! Come here! There’s smoke at the pavilion!”

Tenzin spun up his own air scooter to speed toward the lookout spot. He caught up to Meelo, who pointed back at the smoke that was catching the lights from the house.

The laughter was unexpected.

As he got closer, he recognized Lin’s heavy, harsh laugh. And Pema’s nervous giggle. A suspicion formed in his mind.

“Meelo, I’ll take care of this. You go on to bed. Nothing is really wrong.”

“Dad, is Aunt Lin laughing?” The boy looked so confused.

Tenzin smirked. “Yes. She does know how.”

Meelo’s frown deepened. “I had no idea.” He shrugged and spun off to the house.

Tenzin walked quietly forward, wondering if Lin was compromised enough.

“Come on, Airhead. Get over here already”

Nope, not enough.

He approached the women, wanting his brain to find some other word than “snuggled” against each other.

Pema extended an item towards him. “Join us.”

There is probably an hour and a half left tonight time and the 10% May disappear. We do anticipated disappearing today regardless and we are to be enough immediately.

-the clones are being pushed out of most areas that they were below I know they're being pushed out of all of the areas in and around any of the more luck former bases. That would say the area of operation is taken over in this hours but the Midwest is somewhat mixed and the areas of warlock are mostly empty and they're leaving shortly. They do team up because the clones are being pushed out of all the areas that are below Max and foreigners and us and it's a huge area and we are proceeding until we meet up with others to clear all the tunnels that we can get to all of them and to check for devices. What's the Midwest will be cleared probably today all of it and items will be removed all night long by the max foreigners us and some more luck and the ships that are up there intend to leave shortly.

-the clones and warlock team up and it is due to the clones being removed from the underworld and they're very upset and disgruntled about it and they're not removed fully they're still at your ships and the one stop sign or harassed and harang's questions and a lot of them go missing every day from now on people want the Intel and they don't want them talking cuz they talk almost immediately when they go outside and their trained too

Oh no it was a very satisfying evening there are other things to give a status report on when it went very well. And we're going to publish now

disclaimer: this is a feels fic CHROLLO The melodic sounds of pop rock from the speakers are louder this evening, over the clink of beer bottles and rowdy conversation. Propping your chin with one arm on the pub counter, you scan the sparse crowd - sure enough, business is slow today. Even the cigarette smoke which usually cling obstinately to the walls feels more distant. As expected of the Halich festivities, where most people in Saherta would be home with their families. For a small establishment like yours, in a town just on the eastern outskirts of the Gordeau desert, this means an early closing day. You are itching to get some rest tonight after handling the merrymakers in the past week leading up to the festive season. It is almost 6pm, you note, your eyes wandering across the pub. There is just a table of three regulars, and a man sitting alone in the far right corner near the windows. He looks slightly out of sorts, dressed in a long purple coat, his black hair combed back but slightly tousled. You can’t see his face properly now, but you recall the unusual cross tattoo on his forehead and the way he came in earlier, silent with the tell-tale shuffle of a worn traveler. You were a bit annoyed that he only asked for a glass of water before taking his seat, not budging an inch. Strangely, he seems preoccupied with the decorations on the wall, in particular the large and fading world map placed amongst photographs and notes from customers.  “Sweetheart! The tab please!” You hear a familiar yell that jolts you out of your thoughts. You stride over to the table of the three, late middle-aged men who are already slightly tipsy from all the drinks. “Hope you gentlemen enjoyed,” you hum cheerfully, collecting the cash. As you bend forward to clear the bottles, you feel a hand on your lower back moving down to pat your bum cheekily through your skirt. Internally, you roll your eyes. You immediately brandish the dagger sheathed in your belt and stab it right between the fingers of his other hand resting on the table. You move so fast that no one has the time to react, but you sense the man in the purple coat look up and glance your way. “How many fingers do you want to lose this time, Hanz? Shouldn’t you be getting back to Lina now?” you retort teasingly, used to your regular’s drunk antics. The table breaks out into hearty laughter as Hanz turns sheepish, and they shuffle out of the pub to return to their families for the night. You gather up the empty bottles and bring them to the counter, before turning down the music. Now it is just you, the yellow glow of evening light slanting through the dusty windows, and the strange traveler in the corner. “Hey,” you say as you walk over, wiping your hands on your shirt, “I’m closing up. You don’t need to pay for the water, but I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” You notice the slightest shift in his eyes to the sheathed dagger around your waist. Then, he looks up and you meet his gaze for the first time. He is extremely good-looking for a traveler, and the light scuff marks around his cheek somehow accentuate his attractiveness. His dark grey eyes are undeniably beautiful, but something about their intensity catches you off guard. His eyes are alluring, almost calculative, but they harbour a flicker of vacant sadness. It’s the latter that stirs something in you, and against your better judgement, you ask, “Do you... need help with anything?” “I am just travelling through the area, but I am looking for a place to stay the night,” he explains pleasantly, smiling slightly. His tone is friendly and warm, you’d dare say even charismatic, but your gut tells you that something is off. You spend a few seconds wondering about sending this dangerous-looking man out into town, rapping on the doors of houses filled with elderly and young children for the holidays... Here, it was just you. You could probably handle him. And it’s been many years since you had company on an occasion like this. You sigh deeply. “If you don’t mind sleeping on a couch, you can stay at my place. It’s just upstairs. Every other home will be packed today.”  ---- “Here you go. There’s nothing much,” you say as your swing open the door to your apartment. Thankfully you didn’t make much of a mess, save for some books left open on the sofa. The deepening orange glow of the sunset filters through the glass doors to the balcony, and your apartment appears cosy. The simple furnishings, the small table near the open kitchen, and the few cutlery by the sink only serve as an indicator that you live alone, and coming home to this sight every day always tugs at your heart slightly. You hear the click of the door closing shut behind you, and you wonder why the man hasn’t as much as said a word.  You walk to the kitchen counter, intending on offering him a drink, when you register a sudden flash of movement. You feel the dagger in your belt being pulled out swiftly, so quick that the hair on your neck stands on end, so quick that you don’t even have the time to feel shocked, as it is immediately followed by the telling rush of air as the blade swings down above your hea- your instincts kick in, and you turn around rapidly, missing the blade by a few inches, ducking fast before pinning the man to the kitchen table with his arm twisted behind his back. All is silent except for the clattering of the dagger to the floor.  “Listen, you piece of shit,” you growl fiercely. “I didn’t bring you up here so you could kill me. Here, you’re my guest, and I am your host. So you better start treating me like one.” You’re not sure why you’re hesitant to finish him off, but you release him. He turns to face you, rubbing his wrists, and in his dark eyes you notice a glint of intrigue. Somehow, he looks impressed. “I apologize for my rudeness,” he says with an amused chuckle, his previous innocent demeanour falling away. From this short interaction you can tell he is incredibly powerful, but you are not going to let it faze you. You pick up the dagger and place it back in your belt, giving him a glare.  “The least you can do now is help me with dinner. You haven’t had anything to eat didn’t you?” The man looks at you stunned for a brief second, a puzzled look crossing his face, before he relaxes. “Alright,” he relents, removing his coat and draping it over a chair.  You find yourself trying to stifle a laugh as you pan fry some meat, watching the man clumsily washing vegetables at the kitchen sink, his long fingers peeling and prodding the lettuce leaves without much experience. He doesn’t speak much, you realize, but you notice his eyes wander to the meat cleaver on the counter. “Don’t even think about it,” you snap, and you see a smile tug the corner of his lips. Later, you have dinner outside on the balcony, overlooking the glimmering lighted windows of other homes in the town. Beyond it the large rolling sandy hills of the desert. On most days you’d feel a crushing sadness being on this balcony as the past creeps back upon you. But tonight, it feels bearable. Your look to your side at the man eating in silence, looking out to the view occasionally, his eyes glazed with pensiveness and slight discomfort. He catches you looking at him. “The food is not to your liking?” you asked, preparing to be offended. “No, it’s just... this is new to me,” he replies. “What is? Eating?” you snort derisively. “Being taken care of,” he replies so softly you think you must have misheard. Your cheeks feel warm, and you grumble in your own awkwardness as you collect the plates and head back inside.  “Earlier on, why did you let me stay?” he asks, following you. You let the water from the tap run over your fingers absentmindedly before falling to rinse the dishes below. “Even after I tried to kill you? Aren’t you afraid not knowing what I could do?” You hear his voice coming closer, now a shade darker. “Who knows...” You turn off the tap, sighing, then turning around. “What more can you possibly d-” He grips your wrists firmly and pushes you against the counter, his knees between your legs pushing them slightly apart, making you lean back to maintain your balance. His face presses close to you, lips almost touching. The suddenness of intimacy sends a shiver up your spine, and for a while, you’re speechless and confused, searching his gaze for answers. “I could take you, like this, right now,” he murmurs, his warmth breath fanning your face, and for a moment you feel your desperate loneliness rush into your chest, lightheaded and heavy with want. You could kiss him now and not care what happens later. You could let him ravish you without a thought, graze your body with his lips and hands in places you’ve long craved for...Then you notice his eyes, lidded, sultry, but beneath it a pained undercurrent of emptiness. The rippling desire in you begins to fade, and you understand. “I’m a killer and a thief. Yet you still help me, and you don’t even know my name.” He whispers, his hands not letting go of yours. “You never asked for mine,” you reply, looking straight into his eyes. You both stay like this for a while, in silence, though it feels like he’s on the brink of saying something more. Then, he pulls away. For the rest of the night, you and him barely talk. He spends some time checking his phone, reading the books you left on the sofa, while you clean the dishes, shower and make some preparations for the pub tomorrow. Every now and then he gets up to help you wiping the dishes, or carry the laundry to the balcony.  When it is time for bed, you watch as he removes his shirt swiftly, before lying down on the sofa.  “Goodnight,” you say softly, turning into your bedroom. “Goodnight,” he replies, not looking back.  The events of the day and the past week catch up to you, and exhausted, you fall asleep almost instantly. You don’t notice when he comes into your room in the early hours of the morning. It is still dark, and his footsteps are quiet so as not to wake you up. You don’t notice as he bends over at your sleeping figure, gazing with fondness. “It’s Chrollo,” he whispers. He leans in closer, and cups his hand around your face. You shift and mumble a little in your sleep. He smiles to himself before placing a kiss on your forehead. He knows you aren’t listening, but says it anyway. “Wait for me.” Then he pulls on his coat and heads out the door, leaving soundlessly into the cold, dark morning as the first slivers of light begin to break across the sky.

09/08/22-Lakeside and home 

Photos I took today in this set; Magpie out the back, mallow on the way to Lakeside, view at Lakeside, lots of carrot at Lakeside, two views at Lakeside with the green leaves of a summer day mixing well with yellow ones on the birches I noticed yellow leaves well at home tonight too, Meadow Brown at Lakeside, the flower bed on the way to Lakeside looking nice on the way back at lunch time, Goldfinch on a balcony feeder tonight and a golden sky scene as some clouds came this evening. It was nice to see red leaves in the landscape by the bowl that I walked around at Lakeside I believe dogwood. The bright sunshine helped make it a day I took a lot of pictures I am pleased with again with a variety of subjects covered. I enjoyed making the most of the golden summer evening light again tonight, the green trees outside lighting up, as I’ve noticed the past few nights how it gets dark that little bit noticeably earlier now. I enjoyed a nice bit of red at sunset and seeing the moon getting quite full tonight.

Key species seen today: 

Magpie-Its been a week of crows so far I saw three species from home yesterday Jackdaw, Carrion Crow and Magpie and the latter was the only one I didn’t manage a picture of today so early on this morning I was thrilled to see this one well out the back and get a picture. Its possibly the same one and that’s two mornings running I’ve seen it/a Magpie which is nice, I saw Magpie at Lakeside today too. 

Sparrowhawk-A brief glimpse of one soaring high in the blue sky seen from Lakeside at lunch time. 

Green Woodpecker and Great Crested Grebe-Two of my favourite birds I saw well along the northern path at Lakeside which was nice. 

Common Blue and Small White-Two butterflies I saw well at Lakeside today which seem to be on the increase here numbers wise which is nice to see. I got some splendid views of Small White.

Meadow Brown-I made the most of these today as well butterflies I’ve seen so well throughout the summer, I got a smashing view of the one I got the picture of I was after a Lakeside butterfly picture again and this was a pleasing one to take its brown colours looked rich in the strong sunshine. 

Today I also saw; House Sparrow well, Starling, Collared Dove, Woodpigeon including on the roof out the front with the Magpie which was nice this morning, Feral Pigeon, possible Long-tailed Tit and House Martin I believe at Lakeside, Moorhen in water left in a dry looking pool in the northern fenced off area, Greylag Goose flying around seen and heard, plume moth at home tonight which was lovely to see, another couple of moths in my room and the other side of the window the latter looking nice against the red of sunset, an interesting hoverfly, beetle at Lakeside, fly, ragwort dominating a bit of meadow by the north eastern kissing gate entrance, glorious clumps of red bartsia, thistle and broad-leaved clover on the way to Lakeside, a pretty buttercup, pineappleweed, great willowherb seen well, bird’s-foot trefoil and yarrow and poppy red and orange seen well in the flower bed area. 

In the searing heat as I walked down into the bowl and elsewhere within Lakeside the grass almost crunched under my feet, and I appreciated just how dry the landscape is. As ever I am wishing everything well in light of the extreme weather conditions again.
