@sacaeblade asked:
There is no shortage of people on the boat setting sail for Elibe. Even so, Lyn finds her eye drawn to one of the other passengers. A petite girl who nonetheless holds herself with the poise of a noble even as waves rock the ship. Indeed, it is her appearance that draws Lyn's eye, but it is not her bearing that she finds noteworthy. Rather, it is her resemblance to someone else aboard that makes Lyn stop in her tracks. It would be a disservice to her delicate features to say that she resembled Hector, but to say they didn't look anything alike would be patently untrue. Deep blue hair, just a few hues lighter than Hector's, and blue eyes to match. Big, bright eyes that seem to flit over to the Ostian every so often, either by their own accord or force of habit. Approaching her, Lyn regards the girl curiously, "Are you related to Hector, by any chance?" As far as she was aware, Hector did not have a younger sister and Uther had been unmarried. A cousin, then? Some distant relative? "My name is Lyn. I'm one of Hector's friends." A beat. "Why not go over there and talk to him?"
Since boarding the ship, she has passed by a handful of people. Some she knew as students or faculty, some she knew from her homeland. While in most circumstances she might try to go out of her way to be friendly and talk to others, she found herself more withdrawn. Nerves were coiling inside her and not even the presence of Roy or her father could ease her. She didn’t want to bother either of them right now. They had their own worries, she was sure.
Even still, she finds her gaze drifting to them every now and then. Lilina had at least grown alongside Roy, but as for her father, this version of her father, she had no idea what he was thinking, what he had been through. Or what he’s going through right now.
She is caught in the act of staring, not by who she thinks though, but a surprise all the same. Related to Hector. “Um… You… could say something like that,” she mumbles.
Her father’s friend? Then could she possess information she does not? The striking green hair as well. She had to have been from Sacae. The gentle and strong demeanor reminded her of another Sacaen around her age in the army, she even favored her a little.
A glance back at him before returning and recognizing how tightly she has wound her arms around herself. “It’s.. complicated. He might have a lot on his mind with this whole thing, you know?” She knows she did.
“Oh, I suppose I should introduce myself as well. I am Lilina,” she pauses, almost as if she means to say something else. Of Ostia, Hector’s daughter, neither of which she could seem to vocalize. “...Um, it’s nice to meet you.”

Gauntlet +1 || Wedding Crashers (with @sunncutter)
Marriage was a major life event with a variety of cultural traditions surrounding it, Alfonse knew that. He likely had a keener awareness than most of how disparate such traditions could be, given Askr's position keeping watch over many worlds. Was he an expert in the traditions of each culture of each of those worlds? Of course not. He never really felt the need to think about marital traditions previously outside of passing curiosity when learning about how another culture handled it (usually as a result of a certain yearly festival in Askr). It wasn't even like it held much significance to him, as he didn't see himself getting married anytime soon. He had always just assumed he would do more research into its traditions in various cultures when it became a relevant topic to him, personally.
In a manner of speaking, marriage and its associated customs were now a very relevant topic to him, personally. It was just true in a way Alfonse hadn't anticipated at all. Staging a kidnapping for a wedding ceremony was bizarre to him in every way, but he could only assume it had some basis in the history of these people. Maybe they had legends about people saving their spouses from distress that were important to them-- Alfonse could imagine such a practice arising in Jugdral if things had gone differently for Sigurd. Unfortunately, that was context Alfonse completely lacked, meaning he could only wonder how in the world this had become the norm for these people.
...He was also left wondering why they had pegged him for the villainous type. Alfonse had been accused of being a great many things, but he had always been given the impression that intimidating was not one of them, even if he was actively trying to be so. His father certainly could manage it, but Alfonse's features were far gentler. What harshness he had inherited from Gustav was tempered by traits from his mother. Besides that, he wasn't exactly prone to theatrics. If these people wanted a spectacle, surely they could do better than someone like him, right? There had to be people better suited to getting into character for an event like this.
Alfonse's azure eyes darted to his companion as he paced the floor near the partition. Even if he thought himself a poor choice for this, he seemed downright reasonable in comparison to Lyn. He couldn't imagine someone less fitting for the role of a ruffian. Maybe it was just because Alfonse had something of a skewed perspective of her, having read much about her in Askr's history books long before being given the chance to meet her. As a result, he couldn't see Lyn as anything but a heroic figure. He could only wonder if she could see herself any differently.
"...We really need to come up with some kind of a plan," Alfonse mumbled, speaking moreso to himself than to the Sacaean at his side. "This clearly is important to these people. Marriage always is. They'll be disappointed if we don't give them a good enough show. No, worse-- I'd wager it would be considered an ill omen for their marriage if they don't have a good enough prenuptial ceremony."
Then again, they couldn't really just rely on their combat prowess to carry things, could they? Alfonse and Lyn both exceeded most ordinary people by leagues in terms of battlefield experience, but Alfonse could easily envision that causing more problems than it solved. If instinct kicked in for them, they might well end up injuring or defeating the would-be heroes, which no doubt would reflect poorly both on them and the marriage.
"Do-- do you think we should build traps? Or... er, maybe contrive some kind of high-stakes scenario-- tie our quarry up next to the window as though we intend to throw her out of it if things go foul?"

my school’s football team lost tonight, but it’s safe to say the lesbians won (a girl had the cheer team hold up signs asking a cheerleader to homecoming and then kissed her in front of everybody)

Somehow, by the grace of the goddess herself, Shamir is in the lead. Which she really doesn't care about right now, considering her vision swims and she knows she needs a glass of water stat. But their competition isn't over yet, and so she pushes herself to her feet once again, unsteady in the sand as she marches forward to rise to the occasion. Last time. Just one more. She can make it that far, right?
Shamir rolls: 2. 0 points for Round 3.
Wrong. This time, she doesn't even make it to the bar. Her world turns into a blur and a step to the side ends with her stumbling sideways until she loses her footing in the sand, collapsing in a rather pitiful heap with zero attempt to right herself or peel herself off of the ground. It feels nice, to stay here.... to just........... lay down.... while everything around her is a strange mix of colors and sounds that just kinda make her want to puke. "Hrrk......" And she might, if she even tries to get up. So she lays there, no damns given for the state of her pride, mumbling something about how she wishes someone would turn out the lights. "S'too damn noisy... Ah shit..." @craneswings

ive probably talked about it before but there is obviously an inherent tragedy when it comes to the awakening second gen that is present in all of their characters, but some of them are definitely more comic relief-y than others? which is fine but i think the funniest thing ever is the devs making inigo fire emblem almost entirely a gimmick haha funny character (with like. TWO exceptions in his supports and those two exceptions are literally just his parents) and then realizing “hey people kinda like this guy. lets switch it up a bit for the dlc” and then made like. the best character in the world. like who knew all people needed to enjoy the womanizer trope was to drop him in situations where flirting was no longer an option. then come fates hes like a whole different guy (in a good way!) which, yes you can chalk up to him growing up, but theres a clear difference in how he was written and how selena and odin were written in the same guy and you can just see how the writers were like “holy shit we struck gold with this one” like its crazy hes crazy hes my favorite guy in the world. AND HES STILL FUNNY

The first hint of winter brings with it a sense of relief. A tumultuous summer and fall now behind them, the residents of Garreg Mach are finally able to look forward, as renovations slowly finish and the seasons continue turning.
Laslow, naturally, embraces winter with all the giddiness of a child presented with their favorite toy. Spring is quite lovely, what with all the new blooms and birdsong on the air, but it doesn't quite compare to the magic of winter. As if nature itself has fallen asleep under a blanket of snow and ice.
Needless to say, he's among the first in line once he hears rumors of the shopkeep claiming his invention allows the wearer to glide on ice. It's just another form of dancing, right? A bit more challenging than anything he's learned so far!
He purchases the blades without really paying attention, far too entranced by the sight of figures indeed gliding along the frozen pond. Some wobble atop their skates, arms flung out for balance. Others are more adventurous, taking tentative, lazy spins before coming to a harsh stop. Laughter floats across the pond. Someone falls; there are sympathetic murmurs followed by muted giggles.
It's love at first sight.
Blades firmly affixed to his boots, he steps onto the ice with a confidence he doesn't quite feel, especially as his momentum carries him forward without his say so. His center of gravity keeps shifting to accommodate this new type of movement.
He does end up crashing into a snowbank once, face burning as he dusts off the snow. But he's determined to figure this out, and by the end of his first hour on the ice, it's beginning to feel more natural.
Some students wave once they notice him. Laslow's quick to wave back, chatting with them and offering tips to improve their balance. Honestly, he's shocked no one in Ferox ever thought of something like this!
Ideas for how he can best adapt dance choreography flit through his head. Turns are easy; could he eventually master leaps? Backflips? Landing would prove an issue--
Laslow halts his mindless spin as a newcomer appears, her emerald hair a stark contrast to their pale surroundings. He squints; she looks vaguely familiar. A fellow professor, mayhaps?
Cheeks flushed from both exertion and sun exposure, he glides up to her, smoothly skating to a halt once he's within speaking distance. A few stubborn snowflakes still cling to his hair.
"My, my, I don't believe I've yet had the pleasure of meeting a lovely lady such as yourself! Laslow, at your service." He gives a shallow bow, one hand over his heart.
His grin is nothing short of dazzling when he straightens. "A rather ice day we're having, no?"

Morgan finds herself suddenly glad to be atop a wyvern, she thinks as she glances down into the watery depths below. At least she won't be getting her shoes wet from all the way up here. (Why does this feel familiar? This perch atop a wyvern, an axe in her hand. Her head hurts.)
She does feel bad for Lyn though, the only one trapped without a way to soar above and not risk drowning. Hopefully that won't be too much of an issue, and she would happily fly down and rescue her even if it was!
With one axe in her hand, and a pair of gauntlets strapped to her belt, she feels like she is about ready to take on anything. She feels strong, and strength is good. Or at least she feels strong until a crash of waves hits her right in the face.
She coughs, managing to get all of the water out, but damn, really unfortunate that it was sea water. It tasted salty, and she really wasn't too fond of things that tasted salty. (Not to mention the fact that she couldn't exactly swim. Yet another reason to be glad for the wyvern she found herself upon.)
Charydbis (25/25* HP) summons Dolphin A (10/10 HP) Dolphin A (10/10 HP) rallies Charydbis (25/25* HP). Charydbis gains +4 DEX and +3 MAG for one round. Charydbis (25/25* HP) hits Morgan (10/10 HP) with Raging Waves. [Roll: 14 + 4 = 18; -5.5 HP] [Morgan: 4.5/10 HP] Charydbis (25/25* HP) hits Morgan (4.5/10 HP) with Maelstorm. [Roll: 16 + 4 = 20.] Morgan (4.5/10 HP) is bound until the end of the following phase.
Morgan coughs a little more, wondering if she should actually try to attack or if it was pointless because of how much water was around. But with a rallying screech from Tibarn, she knows that she should stand up and fight. And fight she would! She was strong after all!
She tugs the wyvern into battle (with a instinct she had not know that she'd had. Familiar... it was so familiar.) swooping over the pesky little dolphin that had been summoned by their bigger foe. She slams her axe into it as hard as she can, and it all but explodes into a million little water droplets. Well done herself!
Morgan heals +1 HP from Amaterasu. [Morgan: 5.5/10 HP] Morgan (5.5/10 HP) critically hits Dolphin A (10/10 HP) with Labrys. [Roll: 20 + 8 = 28; -11 HP] [Dolphin A: 0/10 HP] Dolphin A Has Been Defeated!
"Hey guys! I think the big one is open now that its little minion is gone! Use this chance to attack!"

Go and sharpen your knife Hard to pretend that the worst part's over The rain will come in from the sunlight And you know that the cracks will start to show Don’t reopen the wound You’ll need a way just to stop the bleeding Better pray for it soon Cause you know that the gaps will start to grow
